Welcoming America needs to hussle out to North Dakota

I just now posted an article about Welcoming Tennessee and the propaganda film that is being shown around the country in advance of the election, here.  As it happens, no sooner had I posted the Shelbyville story when I saw this one from North Dakota.  Maybe all you welcoming propagandists should hussle on out to Jamestown and try to convince that town that diversity is strength!   Maybe you can beat CAIR there (see dozens of posts on the Council on American Islamic Relations hit squad)!

From The Jamestown Sun:

A dispute between a Somali woman applying for work and the management of a local nursing home degenerated into a loud conflict last week that led to law enforcement officers being called, according to reports from the Jamestown Police Department.

The incident occurred on Oct. 6 when Ismahan Ismail, accompanied by two friends, applied for a job at Bethel 4 Acres. Ismail has been a resident of Jamestown since April when she moved to the area from San Diego, Calif. Originally from Somalia, she has lived in the United States for 10 years.

“You’ll hear from us”

I have no doubt!

“They came in and wanted a job,” said Delores Bagan, administrator of Bethel 4 Acres. “We said the job was filled and they called me a liar and showed the ad from the paper. They kept on arguing. We told them the job was filled and they should go. They wouldn’t take no for an answer.”

Bagan said she had filled the job “a couple of days” earlier but had inadvertently allowed the classified ad in The Jamestown Sun to continue to run. She also commented on the appearance of the women, who were dressed in full-length, robe-like dresses and head scarves.

“Dressed in that flowing garb they couldn’t fill a position scrubbing floors and toilets,” she said.

Bagan said the women swore at her and didn’t leave until they saw the police.

“They were harassing because they wouldn’t leave and demanded a position,” she said. “They threatened ‘you’ll hear from us.’”

Set up?  Stealth Jihad? You betcha!  Read it all.

For new readers: We have admitted well over 100,000 Somali refugees to the US.   To check out the numbers visit this post, probably our most widely read post over the last few years.   In FY2010 which ended September 30th the US State Department resettled 4,884 Somalis (here) to towns near you.

Also, after being closed for nearly two years, the US State Department is on the verge of resuming the fraud-ridden family reunification program that admitted as many as 36,000 Somalis fraudulently to the US between 2003 and 2008.  See the latest on new regulations, here.

Shelbyville, TN propaganda film being sent out in advance of November elections

This is so typical.  We previously heard the film called “Welcome to Shelbyville” from “Welcoming America” would not be shown much here in the US before next spring.  Guess the Lefties figured they had to pull out all the stops and get it out as part of their push to save the Open Borders members of Congress in November.  Sheesh!   It’s hard to beat this steam roller of the Left, they are so good at propaganda and they have all the money!

By the way, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that the meatpacking industry sends money to these Leftwingers so they can continue to promote the lie about how great multiculturalism is going in meatpacking towns and in so doing keep their costs low with the steady supply of cheap labor.  It’s a win-win.  Big industry makes money and Democrats get voters!

For background visit my post last month.  For information on where you can see the warm and fuzzy film this month, go here.

If there is a screening near you and you plan to attend, get back to me and I will put you in touch with people who can tell you the real truth about what happened there.  Maybe you can counter the showing with some letter to the editor or even a little protest!

Minnesota Council of Churches (maybe!) learns hard lessons about Islam

They don’t want to pray with you!

In their neverending quest to show we are all one big happy religious interfaith community, maybe an occasional slap in the face from Muslims, like this one in Minnesota, will force a reality check.   I don’t know how much more it will take to show the Christian Left that Muslims have a very different idea of how the relationship should work.  Islam is superior, right Allahsoldier?  Muslims shouldn’t be mingling with Christians and Jews in religious settings, right?   And, absolutely no praying together!

From the Star Tribune:

Local Somali imams are under attack for taking part in a multi-faith event that showed support for Muslims.

No one at the multi-faith prayer service expected the backlash that would unfold. Least of all Abdisalam Adam.

Adam was one of several local prominent Somali Muslims who stood with Christians, Jews, Hindus and others at a Minneapolis event designed to show support for Muslims at a time when a Florida pastor was threatening to burn Qur’ans and hostility toward Islam was rising.

Now, he and the others find themselves branded as apostates in a firestorm within the Somali community that has stunned local church leaders.

“Right now we’re in a survival mode to straighten things out,” said Adam, who has been fielding calls from as far away as London and Ethiopia. “At first we thought we would ignore it. Then we decided to respond.”

He and fellow leaders at Minneapolis’ Dar al-Hijrah mosque issued statements this week condemning what he called a “manufactured crisis” over his role in the service and particularly imam Abdighani Ali’s “extremist” view of interfaith.

The brouhaha began almost immediately after the Sept. 28 multi-faith prayer service at Central Lutheran Church in downtown Minneapolis. About 400 people attended the “Minnesotans Standing Together” event, which was organized by the Minnesota Council of Churches and sponsored by 30-some religious organizations. Several prominent local Muslim organizations were among the sponsors.

[…]

She (one local woman) noted the irony that the people objecting to the multi-faith service are fellow Muslims — the people the organizers were trying to support.

[…]

Gail Anderson of the Minnesota Council of Churches was disappointed by the backlash. “A lot of it is based on misunderstanding of what we did there,” said Anderson, who added that she’d like to talk with Ali and others who objected to the service. “We were very clear that we weren’t expecting anyone to pray in a tradition that wasn’t their own.”

No, Ms. Anderson, it is your misunderstanding of Islam, not what you did there on that particular occasion.

Obama: Sure, we’ll aim for another 80,000 refugees this fiscal year

No jobs, who cares!

The federal government’s fiscal year (FY2011) began two weeks ago on October 1.  President Obama sent his Determination Letter to Congress on the 3oth of September, a document that sets the upper limit for refugee resettlement for the upcoming year.

Some were hoping to see a lowered ceiling this year in light of the on-going economic recession, but no such luck.  The ceiling for FY2010 was 80,000 and Obama is aiming for that many again.   Readers contrast the two years following 9/11 when everyone was scared to death terrorists would be arriving in droves where the numbers were 45,896 in 2002 and 39,544 in 2003, here.   It appears however that we didn’t quite make the 80,000 this year—total here as of September 30th is 73,311.

This is from the Obama letter to Congress:

In accordance with section 207 of the Immigration and Nationality Act (the “Act”) (8 U.S.C. 1157), as amended, and after appropriate consultations with the Congress, I hereby make the following determinations and authorize the following actions:

The admission of up to 80,000 refugees to the United States during Fiscal Year (FY) 2011 is justified by humanitarian concerns or is otherwise in the national interest…

Regional goals are as follows:

Africa . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 15,000
East Asia . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 19,000
Europe and Central Asia . . . . . . . . . . 2,000
Latin America/Caribbean. . . . . . . . . . . 5,500
Near East/South Asia. . . . . . . . . . . 35,500
Unallocated Reserve . . . . . . . . . . . . 3,000

To find out what countries are in each region go back to this site where the countries are listed.

A refugee is generally defined as someone who has left one’s country due to persecution or a fear of persecution, however, the definition is ‘fudged’ in several cases.  “Refugees” who have not left their country can still be called “refugees” if they are from one of these countries:

I [Barack Obama] also specify that, for FY 2011, the following persons may, if otherwise qualified, be considered refugees for the purpose of admission to the United States within their countries of nationality or habitual residence:

a. Persons in Cuba
b. Persons in the former Soviet Union
c. Persons in Iraq
d. In exceptional circumstances, persons identified by a United States Embassy in any location.

ORR, where is the annual report?

By law* the Office of Refugee Resettlement is required to report to Congress about how the refugee resettlement program and the refugees are fairing.  The reports are handy to find out for instance how employment is going for refugees or for example, what percentage are on food stamps.  However, the Office of Refugee Resettlement is now WAY BEHIND in their reports.  Note here, the most recent report to Congress is 2007!

* Section 413(a) of the Immigration and Nationalities Act states:

Sec. 413. [8 U.S.C. 1523] (a) The Secretary, shall submit a report on activities under this chapter to the Committees on the Judiciary of the House of Representatives and of the Senate not later than the January 31 following the end of each fiscal year, beginning with fiscal year 1980.

We are just now beginning FY 2011, so it seems to me that 2008 and 2009 should have long ago been made available to Congress AND the public!  Kinda makes you think they are hiding something!

And, if they had time to create this database why don’t they have time for the report?
