We know Presidents are isolated in that big ol’ White House in Washington, but this is too much! And, the nerve!
WASHINGTON (AFP) – Europe must do more to better integrate its Muslim communities, and not “simply respond with a hammer”, US President Barack Obama said Friday in the wake of last week’s terror attacks in France.
“Our biggest advantage, major, is that our Muslim populations – they feel themselves to be Americans,” Obama told a joint press conference with British Prime Minister David Cameron.
“There are parts of Europe in which that’s not the case. And that’s probably the greatest danger that Europe faces… it’s important for Europe not to simply respond with a hammer and law enforcement and military approaches to these problems.”
Our Muslim population just isn’t big enough to get too aggressive yet! And, besides, if we are doing it right why did Obama just launch a refugee and immigrant integration task force?
This isn’t the first time we have seen ‘hints’ that some Bhutanese refugees weren’t happy about the fact that 80,000 plus of them were sent to the US over the last seven years or so.
Map is a little out of date, but still gives you an idea of where they were all distributed.
I guess “hints” isn’t the right word. Here in October of last year we reportedon the updated news about the high suicide rate among Bhutanese resettled across America and that some are sorry they came here (probably not thrilled about the meat packing work!).

Now, here is just a little news item that I found interesting at the Nepalese Voice:
Jhapa: The Bhutanese refugees residing in Nepal have demanded not to close their repatriation mission on Saturday.
Expressing their will to return their homeland, some 10,000 refugees have demanded to keep their repatriation mission open.
A 21-member delegation of the Elderly Citizen Repatriation Committee has submitted a memorandum to the government officials urging them to support their repatriation mission.
They also blamed some donor agencies for forcing the Bhutanese refugees for third country resettlement.
I’ve been busy doing research for a couple of upcoming projects/events. And, so here is some data I want to share with readers. Be sure to check our‘where to find information’category from time to time for the latest facts and figures involving refugees and immigration generally.

These are thenine major contractorsthe US State Department and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (HHS) fund. They call them Voluntary Agencies (VOLAGs)which is such a joke considering the large amount of federal funding that flows to each one! There are approximately 350 subcontractors in 180 cities working under the nine biggies.
(An attempt was made to choose a recent year for which all of the nine had submitted financial documents. Although some VOLAGs have slightly different reporting periods and reporting methods, for our purposes the 2012 ‘year’ is adequate. Also, keep in mind that some of the agencies reported their IOM travel loan income, some did not. The IOM is the International Organization for Migration, another huge federal contractor that makes the arrangements for the refugees to prepare to leave for America and it purchases their airline tickets. Refugees must reimburse that taxpayer-funded travel loan, but the VOLAG that collects the loan, pockets a percentage of it—justified as a collection fee.)
We did not include the two new contractors primarily responsible for the ‘unaccompanied minors.’

This gets tricky. Apparently EMM (or now known as Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society of the Protestant Episcopal Church of America), does not produce a Form 990 (no response from them to a recent inquiry was received) nor do they publish their federal income in their annual report.
The only accounting we could find is an independent auditor’s report that reveals they received $17,365,325 from the federal government for their refugee program in 2012.
Further examination by a qualified accountant would be needed to find out how they spent the $17 million.

US Conference of Catholic Bishops
Last, but by far not least, is the US Catholic Bishops whose finances now require further explanation. The USCCB, by the way, resettles the largest number of refugees in the US with the help of Catholic Charities located throughout America. They make no effort to single out Christians for resettlement and in fact, in 2013 they were requesting that the US State Department bring more Rohingya Muslims from Burma (Myanmar) to America.
Up until recently we could access their annual reports to determine their direct income from the federal taxpayer (for their migration program), however, it appears that since RRW and others began publishing the information, we are no longer able to access those reports.
To our knowledge, no Form 990 is filed. Churches are not required to file 990s, so perhaps the Bishops consider themselves a church.
Also, since federal funds go directly to myriad Catholic Charities around the country especially to states such as Tennessee where Catholic Charities and the federal government have complete control of who comes and where they are placed with virtually no state input (called the Wilson-Fishprogram), it would require very knowledgeable forensic accountants to follow the money.
Here is the information we previously obtained from the USCCB’s 2012 Annual Report (it is a good thing we captured it at the time!).
Total revenue: $70,975,237
Govt. grants and contracts (includes over $3 million in travel loan income): $69,534,230
Percent taxpayer funded: 98%
We have no idea what salaries are paid in the USCCB Washington office.
A billion dollars a year!
That is how much we are spending (that we know of!) for refugee resettlement, here. That figure does not include subsidized housing, most healthcare, food stamps, other cash assistance, educating the kids or the costs to the criminal justice system!
The great American tax guru (as a traitor to middle class workers) is busy lobbying again for more cheap labor for his business clients. In February he goes to Lincoln, Nebraska for a big pow-wow that includes big business interests andrepresentatives of religious and progressive groups.

To our many new readers: Truthfully, I am sick of writing about Norquist (our lengthy archive on Norquist is here) who I first mentioned at RRW in 2007 when he was running around Washington DC demanding that the US start bringing in the Iraqi ‘refugees’ (most of whom we have learned since are Muslim Iraqis).
More recently we wroteabout his cabal of Republican (RINOs) promoting more refugee resettlement to America with cheers from Human Rights First.
Note that Jeb Bush us part of Norquist’s gang of ten.
Before you read about the latest Norquist campaign, be sure to read what former Rep. Frank Wolf said about him on the House floor in 2011 when Wolf questioned his Muslim (and other unsavory) connections (see my post at Potomac Tea Party Report).
Reader Robin sent me this news about the busy business lobbyist, Mr. Norquist, in Washington this week, here at Politico.
Grover Norquist, a national conservative leader with a big streak of renegade in him, is coming to Lincoln to promote immigration reform, which he supports primarily on economic grounds.
Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform, an advocacy group he founded in 1985 at President Ronald Reagan’s request. ATR works to limit the size and cost of government and opposes higher taxes at the federal, state and local levels. [How about the taxpayers who foot the bill for $billions for refugees each year?—ed]
His conservative credentials include his membership on the boards of the National Rifle Association of America and the American Conservative Union.
His most famous quote is: “My goal is to cut government in half in 25 years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub.”
Newt Gingrich called Norquist “the person who I regard as the most innovative, creative, courageous and entrepreneurial leader of the anti-tax efforts and of conservative grassroots activism in America. … He has truly made a difference and truly changed American history.”
But Norquist parts ways with many conservatives on the issue of immigration.
In an essay he wrote in 2013 for The Guardian, Norquist wrote, “People are an asset, not a liability. The United States is the most immigrant-friendly nation in the world and the richest country in the world. This is not a coincidence. Those voices that would make us less immigrant-friendly would make us less successful, less prosperous and certainly less American.”
He endorsed immigration reform legislation that would allow 11 million undocumented immigrants to earn legal status by submitting to a background check to weed out those with felony convictions, and paying taxes and a fine.

Norquist was invited to speak at an invitation-only reception and dinner Feb. 2 at Lincoln Station by a coalition of businesses, people, lawyers and interest groups: the Nebraska Restaurant Association, the Nebraska Retail Federation, Nebraska Cattlemen Association, League of Women Voters of Lancaster County, Prairie Fire — The Progressive Voice of the Great Plains, Brown Immigration Law LLC of Lincoln and Justice for Our Neighbors of Nebraska, a nonprofit in Omaha.
Amazing how these groups are so willing to follow Norquist’s lead, do they have any idea who they are following?
Norquist and the disastrous Arab Spring!
I just came across this interesting little nugget: Did you know that Norquist was one of the “smart” people asked to weigh in on who should be Time’sPerson of the Year in 2011. Look who Norquist nominated—Mohamed Bouazizi—good choice I guess if you are a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer (as their fortunes were rising). However, didn’t work out too well for them ultimately, did it? And, why should Norquist, a defender of the taxpayer, care so much about what was happening in Egypt?
Conservative lobbyist Grover Norquist nominated the Tunisian vegetable vendor whose horrific self-immolation Norquist credits with setting off the revolutions that would become known as the Arab Spring. Norquist said, “I think he set off something that wouldn’t have happened without his act, at least not when it did.”
Do you live in Lincoln? Looking for something to do on Feb. 2nd—you should be out there protesting Norquist (the darling of the US Chamber of Commerce)!

Senator Jeff Sessions immigration handbook!
If you haven’t seen it, see the champion for workers of America handbook on the immigration crisis facing our country. Between progressive open borders advocates and big business, no one but Sessions is standing for the squeezed American worker!
This guy is about as Kenyan as I am. Sure, looks like a Somali who probably arrived here as a refugee from one of the big UN camps in Kenya. Note that he arrived here as a very young child, but our “welcoming” generosity apparently had no effect on him (remember Ian Tuttle in his NRO article (posted earlier today)pointed out that the ‘next generation’ in America may be worse than their parents in terms of radicalization.) Mosque influence right here in America? Or, just plain old thug genes?
A 19-year-old is accused of threatening workers repeatedly at a Northeast Portland deli when he wasn’t able to buy a single cigarette, saying he would blow up the store “in the name of Allah,” court records say.
Time to send Abdalah Mohamed back to Africa?
Abdalah Mohamed also is accused of making disparaging remarks about Jews and Israel in July, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Mohamed was arraigned Monday afternoon on two counts of second-degree intimidation. He entered not guilty pleas to each count.
He was booked into the downtown Portland jail on the warrant Friday.
Court records indicate he’s lived in Northeast Portland for about six years and is originally from Kenya.

That’s when Mohamed started shouting threats laced with profanity and demeaning comments about Jews and Israel, Freud wrote.
According to the affidavit, Mohamed screamed, “I will blow up your store” and “I’m going to send my guys to shoot up your store.” Mohamed also referred to the owner as a “Jew” and an “Israeli.”
“You Israeli … I’ll blow up your store in the name of Allah!” Mohamed is accused of yelling, Freud wrote in the affidavit. “We take care of people like you.”
Mohamed left the store, continuing to yell at Rafai and spit on the ground toward Rafai, the affidavit said. While police were investigating and interviewing witnesses at the deli, Mohamed is accused of calling the store and leaving another derogatory message, the affidavit said.

According to court records, Mohamed came to the United States in 2000.
What? Not enough basketball to keep them busy. First it was Christmas trees they wanted to blow up, now it’s convenience stores! (Portland also happens to be the home of the now imprisoned Somali Christmas Tree bomber.)
