Trump Watch! Did Trump cave and agree to take Australia's rejected asylum seekers?

I sure hope Reuters has this wrong!
If it is true it is truly insane!
For new readers, in the waning months of the Obama Administration, Obama made a deal with Australian Prime Minister Turnbull to take off their hands somewhere between 1000-2000 migrants being held in detention on offshore islands.

Australia does not want to give them asylum and bring them to their mainland, but Obama thought it was a swell idea for them to be distributed to American cities and towns!

nauru-detention-center
In 2015 the little darlings burned down the detention center on Nauru. And we are going to take some of these detainees to your towns and cities? Awful story and photo here: http://www.themercury.com.au/news/national/nauru-detention-centre-exstaffer-makes-horrific-claims-in-damages-suit/news-story/d3b3d623be8c968d960b3c90541207d2

We are told by Reuters that Trump agreed to honor the deal in a phone call with the Australian prime minister yesterday.
Again, Australia does not want these mostly Muslim illegal aliens who attempted to reach Australia by boat!
(See our past posts on the ‘Australia deal’ here.)
Here is Reuters:

President Donald Trump has confirmed that his administration will honor a refugee resettlement deal with Australia, a source close to the Australian government said on Sunday.

Trump spoke by telephone with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull earlier on Sunday, officials in both countries said, one of a number of conversations the new U.S. president held with world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The Australian government source told Reuters Trump confirmed the deal to resettle asylum seekers currently held in offshore detention camps to the United States would go ahead.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration had said the United States would take a substantial number of the 1,200 asylum seekers, who are held in the procession centers on remote Pacific islands in Papua New Guinea and Nauru, after Turnbull agreed to resettle refugees from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

U.S. Homeland Security officials have begun assessing the asylum seekers, although it was unclear when those found to be genuine refugees would be resettled. [Australia obviously found none who are legitimate refugees!—ed]

Many of those in Australia’s offshore camps have fled conflict in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and elsewhere.

Senator Grassley and Rep. Goodlatte identified the nationalities as the following: Iran, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Sudan and “stateless” (probably Rohingya), here.
So what kind of a deal is this Donald?
We get Australia’s rejected asylum seekers (house, feed, clothe them on our dime) and a bunch of illegal aliens not even in the US from Central America being held in Costa Rica go to Australia.  What do we get out of that deal???
I’m guessing there is a strong caveat that Reuters may not want to focus on and that is that the ‘refugees’ must get through our surely stepped-up security screening when they clearly didn’t get through Australia’s.
Just in case….

Judge orders 'stay' of Trump's executive action for arriving refugees

It is all over the news this morning (especially, of course, on CNN). Those arriving refugees being held in airports have been released into American communities.  CNN says there were 109 throughout the country with another 173 attempting to board planes abroad.

I really can’t tell you how far this will go.  We will just have to wait for a bunch of talking head lawyers to dissect it for us.  And, I have so much else to get to including the dreadful news that, again according to CNN, Trump agreed to admit those 1000-2000 reject asylum seekers Australia was holding in detention—a huge disappointment!
Here is ABC on the ACLU’s victory:

A federal court in Brooklyn tonight granted an emergency stay on President Trump’s executive order that bans immigration from seven predominantly Muslim countries for two Iraqi men who had valid visas to enter the United States but were detained today when they arrived in New York.

Trump’s order calls for an immediate suspension of immigration from countries with ties to terror, including Syria, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Iran and Libya, for a time period of 90 days. It also calls for the complete suspension of Syrian refugees for an indefinite period.

The ACLU, which had filed the challenge on behalf of the two men, contended that the stay applied nationally to all cases, but that was not clear from the ruling. ABC News was attempting to clarify whether that was the case.

The ruling does not appear to overturn administration policy, but does appear to apply to all of those people currently detained at airports across the country who were facing imminent deportation. The judge asked repeated questions of the federal prosecutors charged with defending the executive order, but they were unable to provide numbers of people who were facing the prospect of returning to a country where there lives would be in danger.  [All they had to do was call up Barbara Day and/or Laurence Bartlett at the DOS Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration and they could get numbers of those arriving.—ed]

And, if you would like to dig deeper, one of  our readers ‘Theodore’ commented at this post and has sent links with the wording of the ‘stay’ and some analysis.

Suggestion for President Trump: save millions by cutting funding for the International Rescue Committee

Everyday I start my day at around 5 a.m. with CNN.  I recommend that you all consider doing that (not necessarily at that hour!) because it is so informative to see how they spin the news each and every day. Kind of fires me up to get to work!

miliband-and-soros-3
In 2013, Miliband awarded George Soros the IRC’s Freedom Award (this is not a joke, or fake news!). https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2013/11/09/federal-refugee-contractor-gives-freedom-award-to-george-soros/

This morning CNN showed a clip of the International Rescue Committee‘s CEO David Miliband whining (in his snooty British accent!) about Trump’s EO on refugees.  I tried to find the clip just now, but couldn’t.  But it doesn’t matter.
This is what you need to know (especially you lazy reporters who never mention that the refugee contractors, including the IRC, are largely taxpayer funded while you pretend their intentions are pure as the driven snow!).
The IRC is one of the nine major federally funded refugee contractors.
David Miliband is a British national who came over from the UK a few years back to run the International Rescue Committee which places refugees in a couple dozen US cities. He was a former Foreign Secretary and is the brother of ‘Red’ Ed.
charity-navigator-logo_1

The International Rescue Committee had an annual income stream of $688,920,920 for the year ending September 2015 according to ‘Charity Navigator.’

66.5% of that income came from you—the US taxpayer!

Miliband is paid annual compensation of $591,846! What the h*** does he do for that kind of money? Doing well by doing good, is he?

And, here is where the IRC is placing refugees in America (screenshot from their website):

screenshot-205
Think about it! A rich British elitist is changing American cities and we taxpayers pay him to do it!

So my suggestion to the President is to begin balancing the US budget by cutting off the supposed humanitarians, especially the foreign ones being paid handsome salaries out of the US Treasury! Let them raise PRIVATE money from those who want refugees seeded throughout America. Heck, the US taxpayer could save almost a half a billion bucks annually by pulling them off the federal teat!

NYT reports first hardship story as refugees entering the US last evening being detained

And, so it begins.

I told you here on January 7th exactly what the refugee contractors would do!
Rutland, Vermont a case study!
This is what I said eleven days ago:

The US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) said in a press release in recent days that they were going ahead with their plans to open an office in Rutland, VT for the purpose of placing 100 Syrians (the first 100!) in the city where those plans have drawn heated controversy since last spring.

lavinia-limon-2
Ms. Limon was irresponsible opening the Rutland, VT office only weeks ago when she knew this was coming. So, I’m saying she is cruel by giving false hope to refugees. The refugee contracting agency she heads is 97% funded by you! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2016/09/05/this-federal-refugee-contracting-agency-is-97-taxpayer-funded/

Throwing all caution to the wind (shelling out money they don’t know they will have) and gambling that they can back Trump down, the federal resettlement contractor headed by longtime Clinton ally Lavinia Limon is hiring staff for a proposed opening in a couple of weeks—timed, I surmise, to happen just about the time Donald Trump is inaugurated.

Setting up a showdown with Donald Trump…..

If Trump does what he said he would do and quickly pauses refugee resettlement at least from terror-producing regions of the world, USCRI will be in a position to scream bloody murder—how dare Trump stop these poor women and children who were headed to a ‘welcoming’ Vermont town.

And this:

Warning to Mr. Trump: These are not squishy do-gooder organizations and people who you can easily roll. They are sharp, experienced political fighters.

Well, the fight is on as Pres. Trump did what he said he would do and now the NYT (story here) and Lavinia Limon are crying foul!
Here (at Valley News) is Ms. Limon wailing*** about Vermont two days ago (when it became clear Trump was not backing down):

Montpelier — The mayor of Rutland — a city that had been expecting up to 100 refugees from Syria and Iraq — said he fears a policy being considered by President Donald Trump would halt refugee resettlement in the city.

Trump is proposing to reduce the maximum number of refugees by more than half, to 50,000, for the budget year ending in September. He’s expected to suspend the U.S. refugee program for four months and indefinitely bar those fleeing war-torn Syria.

“That could very well mean the end of refugee resettlement for the city of Rutland,” where two Syrian refugee families recently arrived, Mayor Christopher Louras said.

“The human tragedy is terrible,” said Lavinia Limon, president of the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. “The cruelty of doing that to people is really, really bad.”

Who is, first and foremost, responsible for the “cruelty?”

The US State Department bureaucrats (see Bureaucrats gone wild!) and Ms. Limon because they were pushing the refugees (the poor political pawns!) in to the pipeline as fast as they could! It was irresponsible of them to not start slowing down the flow on the day after election day.
For new readers, Ms. Limon’s organization is paid by the head to place the refugees!

Wrapsnet update: Number of refugees arriving slowed since yesterday

rpcLogoSmall [Converted]See my post, here, about how I have been tracking refugee arrivals since the morning of Inauguration Day.

Here is a recap of what I posted each day:

January 20th: 29,895

January 21st: 30,063

January 22nd: 30,063

January 23rd: 30,063

January 24th: 30,063

January 25th: 30,885

January 26th: 31,521

January 27th: 32,094

This morning the number is 32,125.
I’ll try to keep readers posted each day going forward.  The President, in yesterday’s executive order, reset Obama’s ceiling of 110,000 to 50,000 (go here to see my explanation about why that is still too high).
Here is a map from Wrapsnet (Refugee Processing Center) this morning. How many have already gone to your state this fiscal year?
screenshot-196

screenshot-197
If you can’t read Florida it is 1,047. Alaska is 32 and Hawaii is 3.

By the way, note that states that in recent months withdrew from the US Refugee Admissions Program have shown no reduction in the number of refugees they receive. Those states are Texas, Kansas, New Jersey and Maine. The federal government is simply turning the work of placing refugees in those states over to the (we believe) unlawful Wilson-Fish alternative which puts a non-profit refugee contractor in charge of the program in that state!
Governors in those states—all Republicans—should consider suing as Tennessee is doing, or at minimum screaming to the Trump Administration!
Wyoming has wisely never had a refugee program!
