Arizona: Refugees Not Working! Lutheran ‘Religious’ Charity Wants More and so does Gov!

Resettled refugees haven’t been doing so well as the Chinese Virus continues to wreck the US economy, but nevermind, Biden has promised 125,000 more impoverished third worlders for Americans to take care of in the coming year.

Every time you see a sob story like this one in the mainstream media you should be firing off a letter to the editor and asking:

Has [city or state, fill in the blank!] run out of poor, jobless, homeless, hungry Americans?

Even it you know the letter won’t be published you are educating the editor!

Arizona REPUBLICAN Governor Ducey ‘welcomes’ more refugees and opposed Trump’s efforts to give local communities a say in the matter. https://apnews.com/article/a1723b44a657c0ef9f6fb163fbb9a94b

Recognizing that Americans are hurting and should be taken care of first, President Trump further reduced the number of needy people the country could manage in 2021, but Biden/Harris are putting Americans LAST as they promise the largest influx of refugees America has seen in many decades and far in excess of those Obama admitted.

(And, with his past actions, Arizona’s Republican Governor Ducey has signaled his agreement with Biden!)

Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest and the International Rescue Committee headed by Moneybags Miliband are putting out-of-work refugees FIRST—ahead of hurting Americans!

From Tuscon.com (hat tip: Tom):

Tucson agencies support of refugees challenging during pandemic

Since many recently-arrived refugees work in hard-hit industries such as hospitality, food service and transportation, they are among those greatly impacted by the pandemic, officials say

President-elect Joe Biden has said he will increase that cap to 125,000. Arizona resettlement agencies expect that cap to climb over time, allowing them to readjust and prepare for more arrivals in the future.

Nationally, Arizona is one of the highest states for resettlement, Prescott said. The IRC and Lutheran Social Services are among the organizations that provide a number of resources for newly arrived refugees, including job placement, enrolling children in school, finding and furnishing housing, and social services and community support.

Connie Phillips, CEO of Lutheran Social Services Southwest. https://socialwork.asu.edu/content/connie-phillips-eary

“When the pandemic first came last spring, it really threw our refugee clients into quite a crisis,” said Phillips of Lutheran Social Services. “Between the community and the staff’s ability to be innovative and to pivot, I think we were successful in providing for basic needs and responding to the immediate crisis.”

Since many recently arrived refugees work in hard-hit industries such as hospitality, food service and transportation, they are among those greatly impacted by the pandemic, Prescott said.

Refugees have lost their jobs, so have Americans!

More than 40% of the resettled refugees that Lutheran Social Services has assisted lost their jobs since the pandemic hit, Phillips said.

Arizona resettlement agencies addressed these issues by helping those who lost their jobs find new employment, as well as distributing food and supplies.

They also supplied refugees with information about economic relief programs for which they might qualify, such as rent and utility assistance through the city of Tucson.

Refugees’ living conditions mean they get more COVID says the IRC community engagement coordinator, and as the “most vulnerable people” need extra attention:

International Rescue Committee community engagement coordinator Stanford Prescott

The pandemic has revealed factors that contribute to greater positive rates among low-income communities, communities of color and immigrants — many of which apply to refugees. The nature of their work in essential industries coupled with living situations in which multiple generations reside in one home makes them more at risk, Prescott said.

To counter this, agencies have implemented measures to improve safety and testing in refugee communities.

Thanks to a grant from the Arizona Department of Health Services, the Pima County Health Department and the IRC have partnered to establish free local testing sites and ensure information about these sites is shared with the city’s refugees, Prescott said.

“This testing program is so important because if we can make sure that the most vulnerable people have access to testing, then we can keep those rates lower, which helps the community.”

What about poor vulnerable American kids?

Tucson schools have jumped in, providing essential equipment to refugee youth. Local resettlement agencies also work with families to help them navigate digital education.

There is more here.

And, just in case you think that Lutheran Social Services is being funded by the generosity of Christians passing the plate in church, see this page from a recent Form 990.

Taxpayers pay for approximately 85% of their annual income.

Less than $2 million of their $16.5 million revenue in 2018/19 came from private charity of some sort.  Be sure to see page 10 (Form 990 filed in early 2020) and note that most of their income went to salaries, employee benefits and office overhead.

There is even a quarter of a million in travel expenses!

They are still working as Government grants and contracts provide salaries for open borders political activists.

Arizona: Videos Produced in Ten Languages to Teach Refugees COVID Cleanliness Practices

Somali refugees have been in Arizona for more than 5 years, but their English language skills are lacking it seems according to data collected on the distribution of Coronavirus informational videos.

Videos in Somali are the most watched of ten videos produced by refugee advocates to teach them how to avoid spreading the virus.

From Fronteras:

Produced In 10 Languages For Arizona Refugees, COVID-19 Safety Videos Reach 70,000

The official language of the African nation Burundi is named Kirundi. Julie Ngiriye speaks it and other languages, which is why the social worker and care coordinator helped make an informational video about the coronavirus for Burundian refugees living in Arizona and beyond.

“I know the struggles they go through for having going through the same struggles myself,” she said.

In the video, Ngiriye explained how to wash your hands. She also talked about social distancing, not sharing plates or food utensils, and sneezing into your elbow. The goal, she said, is to inform.

I thought a refresher on the top ten languages spoken by refugees would be useful. Data is at the Refugee Processing Center. https://www.wrapsnet.org/admissions-and-arrivals/

“How it is really pandemic, not a simple disease,” she said.

The video is one of 10 produced in different languages. They feature Ngiriye, staff called cultural health navigators, and a doctor at Valleywise Health’s Pediatric Refugee Clinic.

“It is actually the best medium to be able to reach the majority of them in the community,” Ngiriye said, and noted that many refugees don’t read or write.

The doctor said shared apartments, jobs with no sick leave, and limited child care options make refugees especially vulnerable to COVID-19. As the coronavirus started to sweep through Arizona, state officials and Valleywise Health joined forces to make safety videos in languages like Swahili, Karen and Arabic.

In less than a month, the 10 videos have been watched on YouTube about 70,000 times. The video done in Somali has the most views. A local leader said it’s because most of the Somali community has been here for years. Making sure newer arrivals also get the message is the hard part.

More here.

If you are wondering, Maay Maay is another language spoken by some Somali people—the Bantu.

See my post a few days ago about how language barriers helped spread the Chinese virus at Smithfield Foods in South Dakota.

(Updated) In Response to Lobbying by Refugee Activists, Arizona Senate says ‘Welcome Refugees’

***Update***

A reliable source is reporting that the news about the passage of this resolution is fake news!

SB1341 is a Dem bill and never got a hearing and won’t–https://apps.azleg.gov/BillStatus/BillOverview/73599
SCR 1024 is dead, dead, dead!  Another from the Dems–https://apps.azleg.gov/BillStatus/BillOverview/73599

However, the information about the lobbying effort and ‘We are All America’ is not.

The pro-refugee lobby day effort was organized by ‘We are all America’ a subsidiary of the National Partnership for New Americans.

We are all America’splatform is here (they have not updated their refugee section obviously) and is focusing on the following states with their lobbying campaign:  Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.

I’m posting this news to show readers how organized the open borders left is.

Frankly, those of us concerned about too much immigration to America have nothing like this.

Republican Governor Ducey: Yes please! More refugees for Arizona!

Arizona sure looks like it is on the cusp of turning blue.

Recently the Republican governor was one of the first Republican governors out of the chute to oppose the President’s efforts to slow the refugee program and now the Republican Senate backs him because a bunch of refugee lobbyists descended on them (and because the Rs want the steady supply of cheap labor for their business pals.)

See my post on Ducey here…

Arizona: Republican Governor Ducey Says Arizona Wants MORE Impoverished Refugees

From Cronkite News:

Pro-refugee resolution passes Arizona Senate after push from local activists

PHOENIX – As a Somali refugee and determined activist, Naruro Hassan is used to other people speaking on behalf of the refugee community.

Naruro Hassan

Yet she was finally able to make her own voice heard Feb. 10, when a group of more than 50 lobbyists for refugee rights joined her at the Arizona Capitol to attend legislative meetings and speak to senators one-on-one.

By day’s end, the Senate unanimously passed a pro-refugee resolution expressing gratitude for refugee contributions within the state. It’s waiting on a vote by the House.

[….]

The We Are All America coalition, which works to empower and support the refugee community across the country, organized Refugee Lobbying Day, an event meant to empower refugees in the community, make their voices heard on the topic of resettlement and encourage state legislatures to pass pro-refugee legislation.

The gang is all here, including CAIR!

We Are All America was joined by other organizations, including the Council on American Islamic Relations, Somali United, the International Rescue Committee of Phoenix, Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest and Arizona Jews for Justice.

Continue here.

I have no clue who is bankrolling ‘We are All America‘, but no surprise that two of the nine major refugee resettlement contractors that receive your tax dollars were in the mix.

Arizona: Republican Governor Ducey Says Arizona Wants MORE Impoverished Refugees

Have you taken 15 minutes to make your calls?

Apparently Open Borders Inc. made more calls in Arizona than anyone concerned about the high number of impoverished third worlders Arizona is ‘welcoming’.

Arizona Republican Governor Ducey: Sure we will take an unknown number of refugees the UN and the feds pick for us. Arizona has run out of our own vulnerable people so we will get more from Asia, Africa and the Middle East. And, eventually the new Americans will vote us Republicans out of office.

Arizona is the fifth highest state in the nation for refugee placement and Arizona Governor Doug Ducey sure has swallowed the kool-aid according to this story at Tucson.com.

And, so has the Republican Speaker of the House!

Ducey could easily have said that Arizona needs a little break to assimilate all those we have taken in recent years, but he didn’t.

What he did was invite refugee placement in the state at any number Washington and the contractors want to send.

And, effectively has placed the financial burden of their care on state and local taxpayers as the feds have long ago stopped financially supporting many of the costs of social services to refugees.

Ducey declines Trump offer to let Arizona opt out of taking refugees accepted into the US

PHOENIX — Gov. Doug Ducey said Friday he won’t take advantage of President Trump’s offer to allow Arizona to opt out of taking refugees.

“Throughout our nation’s history, the United States has been a refuge for individuals fleeing religious and political persecution in their homeland,” Ducey wrote Friday to U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. “And Arizona has historically been one of the most welcoming states in terms of the number of refugees resettled here.”

Specifically, the Republican governor told Pompeo he officially is consenting to “initial refugee resettlement in Arizona.”

The federal government works with local authorities and nonprofit agencies to resettle the refugees accepted into this country. What changed recently is that Trump, in an executive order, said cities and states must provide written consent for such resettlement. His order effectively gave cities and states a veto option.

[….]

Ducey’s letter to Pompeo said one thing that made him decide to permit continued resettlement is his belief that refugees pose no risk.

“Refugees arriving in the United States have been vetted and approved by the appropriate national security agencies and the Department of State and have been granted legal entry to make a new home in the land of the free,” Ducey wrote. [This is boilerplate contractor language so clearly he simply cut and pasted from some template letter he was provided.—ed]

[….]

Bishop Edward Weisenburger fails to tell the citizens of Arizona that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops gets over 90% of its refugee funding to support refugees from federal taxpayers.

That letter, however, may not fully clear the way. Ducey press aide Patrick Ptak said similar approvals are needed from local governments. He said that most likely involves only Pima and Maricopa county officials as well as those in affected cities.

[Try making one of the 100 mile radius maps like patriots did in Tennessee and see how many other counties are involved.—ed]

[….]

The governor’s decision drew praise from Bishop Edward Weisenburger of the Catholic Diocese of Tucson.

“Refugee resettlement is a critical ministry which we, along with a great many dioceses across our nation, have provided for many years,” he said in a prepared statement. “Providing aid to those in dire need and who are fearing for their lives is an important part of Catholic teaching.”  [Just tell the TRUTH for once! No wonder the Catholic Church is losing its flocks!– Ed]

US Catholic Bishops Bemoan Loss of Federal Funding under Trump

Tucson.com continues….

The governor’s decision also is supported by House Speaker Rusty Bowers, R-Mesa.

More here.  It is too sickening for me to continue.

He claims his worries of 2015 (terrorism) have gone away and he says he is satisfied that the citizens of Arizona have been consulted.

This post is filed in my ‘Where to find information’ category which contains all of the posts in recent weeks about the Trump Executive Order.

The list of governors who have said yes to more refugees is in my right hand side bar, here.

Arizona Iraqi refugee arrested in bomb-making plot, media avoids the ‘R’ word

Thanks to reader Julia for sending the story from the Daily Mail with the rather long headline:

REVEALED: Iraqi refugee who planned to carry out terror attacks with bombs he built in Las Vegas was caught in elaborate FBI sting teaching agents to make IEDs with skills he learned in Iraq

Check out the Daily Mail story with photos and a video.  The video mentions that the brother of the alleged wannabe bomber reported that they are Iraqi refugees.

Ahmad arizona
Ahmad Suhad Ahmad

But what interested me more than the actual news is that the US media is once again burying the information about Ahmad Suhad Ahmad being a REFUGEE we welcomed to America.

Ahmad reportedly wanted to bomb someone or something in Mexico.

I searched for a US story to write about and there are plenty, but most didn’t mention the refugee part of the story.  This one was the most interesting.

From The Federalist Papers:

Refugee Caught Making Bombs For Assassination, Media Covers Up Story

A refugee has been caught in the nick of time as he was making bombs to prepare for a terror attack, but the mainstream media wants to hide it from you.

Ahmad Suhad Ahmad, a refugee from Iraq, was caught in an undercover sting operation by the FBI making bombs in his Las Vegas hotel.

This is the reason you have to vet “refugees” as they attempt to flood into the United States.

Not every one of them is a freedom seeking migrant looking for a better life. Some of them want to take yours.

It is also the reason you have to vet stories from the mainstream media as it will do anything to push the idea that all refugees are good and there is no danger.

More here.

Fake News!

And, if I didn’t make myself completely clear in the post I wrote about the Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, because the mainstream media fails to tell the general public the full truth about refugees and how the resettlement process works, and about many other issues, conspiracy theories grow and fester.

Unfortunately, it is constant deceptive reporting from major media’s Leftist world-view that produces irrational actions by people who are angered by the continual half-truths they see every day at the Washington Post, the New York Times and on CNN (to name a few of the main culprits.)

And, it is how President Trump’s railing against “fake news” resonates with those now getting most of their news from alternative media on their phones and computers.  They see the full story (both sides!) by reading widely on the internet and feel they have been lied to by the dominant media.

Update: Just as I am ready to post, I see some stories now reporting the alleged bomb-maker’s refugee roots.
