Alabama: Iraqi Refugee Ordered Deported, Lied on Refugee Application

So what else is new!  Of course, many of them lie. The only difference is that once in a blue moon one is caught!

I have a couple of stories this morning that could be posted either here or at ‘Frauds and Crooks!’  This one, and then up next Rep. Ilhan Omar story breaks internationally.

From Fox10:

Mobile man who lied about Iraqi military record avoids prison – but loses something more valuable

Holy cow! He had been in Saddam Hussein’s Army for 20 years! So much for the much ballyhooed “robust vetting” of refugees.

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – An Iraq native who lied about his military record to get into the United States avoided prison Friday but lost something more valuable – his American citizenship.

Do you suspect someone is committee refugee/asylum fraud. Here is where you can report it: https://www.uscis.gov/report-fraud/combating-fraud-and-abuse-in-asylum-program

Saad Taha Ahmed lived a quiet life in southwest Alabama for nearly a decade as a refugee from war-torn Iraq. U.S. officials granted him refugee status in 2010 and placed him in Mobile.

Ahmed, whose full name is Saad Taha Ahmed Yousif Al-Qaysy, became a legal permanent resident in 2011 and got citizenship in 2015.

Then investigators discovered Ahmed’s secret – he was not a victim of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s military; he was a member of it.

On Friday, Chief U.S. District Judge Kristi DuBose sentenced Ahmed to three years’ probation for the fraud and ordered that his citizenship be revoked.

“It sounds like you did what you did for your family,” the judge said. “But you still violated the law, and you applied for citizenship under false pretenses.”

After the hearing, a U.S. Border Patrol agent took the defendant into custody and indicated he would be put into deportation proceedings.

[….]

In his written plea agreement, Ahmed admitted that he concealed the full extent of his military service, telling American officials in his refugee application that he was in the army only from 1987 to 1991 to fulfill compulsory military service.

In fact, according to court documents, he entered the army in 1983 and remained for 20 years until the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. During those two decades, Ahmed rose to the rank of colonel, the most senior officer position short of general.

More here.

Looking around for additional information, I found this Court document that says the government initially attempted to seal the case against Saad Taha Ahmed Yousif Al-Qaysy.

If someone wants to write a book, I have over 650 posts on Iraqi refugees going back a dozen years archived here at RRW.  Of course, Iraqis represent one of the largest movements of Middle East migrants to the US in the last decade.

Iraqi refugee murdered in Rochester, MN by gang of thugs

I’m posting this because I’m curious about this gang which was arrested shortly after the shooting of a respected Iraqi family man resettled in Rochester, MN by Catholic Charities only a few years ago.  Was it a random shooting? We likely will never know.
I was also interested because the gang (playing the name game!) appears to be a mixed group of migrants and home-grown thugs. (Diversity is strength so they say!)

From Winona Daily News:

ROCHESTER — The man who was shot and killed Monday night escaped violence in Iraq, only to have it find him here.

Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhu Al Naddf, 40, was an Iraqi refugee who immigrated to the United States in 2014. He, his wife and their two young children left their home country and settled in Rochester shortly thereafter, with help from a local branch of Catholic Charities.

On Monday night, Al Naddf was shot and killed with a single bullet to the chest near his home in the 2800 block of Charles Court Northwest. Four men have been arrested in connection with the shooting — the motive for which is still unclear — and will likely face charges of second-degree murder.

KIMT3 News announces arrest:

ROCHESTER, Minn. – Four suspects are now in custody in connection to the murder of a husband with two kids, Rochester police said Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. John Sherwin said Tuesday the murder of 40-year-old Ahmed Muafaq Abdulhu Al Naddf began with a confrontation of some sort and ended with one shot being fired.

[….]

Eric Tyler Lee, 25, Sao Yim Jr., 24, Traequan Bamlounghong, 23 and Deante Stanifer, 24, are all facing second-degree murder charges.

Stanifer’s arrest was announced Tuesday afternoon after the other three had already been taken into custody.

For the folks in the multicultural mecca of Minnesota, let me know if you see more on this case.

Iraqi Refugee Helped Terrorists Kill U.S. Soldiers In Iraq

Sergeant First Class Bryan E. Hall, 32, of Elk Grove, California. Loved camping, fishing and hunting and was very proud of serving his country. http://www.warriorwishes.org/2014/04/32in30-san-francisco-giants-warrior.html

Editor:  This is a very sad story from our indispensable reporter ‘Pungentpeppers:’

A Kurdish Iraqi man, who settled as a refugee in Canada while still a teen, has been extradited to New York and is facing terrorism charges. Sayfildin Tahir Sharif, 36, who also goes by the name Faruq Khalil Muhammad ‘Isa, is accused of helping orchestrate an April 2009 truck bombing in Mosul, Iraq. Five American soldiers died in the attack, and two Iraqi policemen.

Muhammad ‘Isa admitted he corresponded by email with two of the terrorists while they were in Syria, and that they were on a mission to kill Americans. He wired $700 to a “facilitator” who helped one of the attackers, a Tunisian, enter Iraq.

On wiretaps last year, Muhammad ‘Isa was overheard explaining to someone in Iraq how he used code words when discussing the Iraq operation.”For example, when I want to name the brothers, I say the farmers — because they plant metal and harvest metal and flesh.” He also explained that he used the term “married” to mean “in the afterlife.”

Muhammad ‘Isa pleaded “not guilty” to the charges on Saturday.

Although the press describes him as “Canadian” – he arrived in Canada in 1993, and became a Canadian citizen four years later – he is Canadian on paper only.

This turncoat needs to get “married” and see “the afterlife” – but first he’ll spend his time in prison.

The five American servicemen who were killed in the attack:

Staff Sgt. Gary L. Woods, 24, of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky;
Sgt. First Class Bryan E. Hall, 32, of Elk Grove, California;
Sgt. Edward W. Forrest Jr., 25, of St. Louis, Missouri;
Cpl. Jason G. Pautsch, 20, of Davenport Iowa; and
Army Pfc. Bryce E. Gaultier, 22 of Cyprus, California.

Defendant To Appear In Court In Brooklyn On Charges Of Helping Orchestrate Truck Bombing In Iraq

San Antonio: Surprise! Iraqi lied on refugee application; suspected links to Al-Qaida

But, the government got him on only ripping-off the taxpayer for his disability payments!  He could get ten years in the slammer (on our dime), but no mention of deportation!

The next time you hear about how thoroughly refugees are screened, remember this story!

By the way, he is not the first to lie, nor will he be the last!

From MySanAntonio:

SAN ANTONIO — An Iraqi man who was resettled in San Antonio to escape purported persecution pleaded guilty Monday to lying to get refugee status and stealing from the U.S. government.

Ahmed Khudhur Tayyeh, 39, was arrested last year after counterterrorism agents investigated him on suspicion that he had ties to al-Qaida.

He was set to go to trial Monday on charges of withholding information from the Social Security Administration and withholding information on his refugee application. He abruptly accepted a plea offer instead, pleading guilty to one count of theft from the government and one charge of making a false statement. A charge of Social Security fraud was dismissed.

As one of nearly 200,000 Iraqi refugees approved by the U.S. government for resettlement in America since 2007, Tayyeh was given a green card despite his giving conflicting stories about how he injured his leg.

In one story, he allegedly said he took a hit from an improvised bomb; in another, he said he was kidnapped by Iraqi police and shot in the leg.

[….]

In court Monday, Tayyeh admitted that on his refugee application he failed to list two brothers and claimed his father had been killed. His brothers are believed to have al-Qaida links, and his father is still alive.

Read it all.

Off the top of my head here are a few other Iraqis now spending time in US prisons on our dime.  By the way, I’ve advocated that the US State Department pick up some of the prison tabs for those they have resettled (not just Iraqis) now living in prison on us!

See, Kentucky Iraqi terrorists here Colorado Iraqi rapists hereArizona Iraqi bombs Social Security Office, here.  California Iraqi who murdered his wife and pretended Islamophobes did it, hereSouth Dakota Iraqi sex trafficker gets life, here.

So much for screening!

What happened with those Iraqis arrested for that brutal rape in Colorado last summer?

A reader sent me this story from last week that appeared in The Independent Sentinel.  It is about the Colorado Springs rape case we told you about last summer.    Our reader wants to know if the accused are refugees—they probably are.

We know one of them is because we reported that back in August, here.  A US soldier actually helped one of them get into the US!*

Generally though, it is one of the most frustrating things over the years because the mainstream media rarely tells you the answer to the fundamental question most casual readers of news want to know—how did this bunch get here?     I think they are trying to protect illegal aliens by not using the “illegal” word but in fact they then leave us guessing and assuming that they are here legally.

Anyway, here is the short news story from The Independent Sentinel with a link to the August TV report from Colorado.  Be sure to see their mugshots!   It might be a new story to some of you.  But, the story appears to have dropped down a black hole, so if anyone has an update on it, please let us know.

Five Iraqi Muslims have been arrested in the brutal rape of a Colorado woman. Her injuries were said to be “rarely seen.”

“I can tell you this is one of the most horrific sexual assaults I’ve seen in my career as a police officer,” said Lt. Howard Black with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

She was helping the men who were involved in a fight and was then invited into the home of one who was joined by the others. She conversed with them to offer support. She was then drugged and brutalized for her kindness. She said they kept complaining about their treatment in the United States.

KKTV has the story.

Gang rapes by Muslims in Sweden and Norway are common and they are brutal. It is a common thing in many Muslim countries. They do not hold women in any regard and they do not look upon Western women as human.

When will Sandra Fluke and Nancy Pelosi speak up about these crimes in the real war on women? They are too busy worrying about paying for contraception at the expense of freedom of religion.  [Yes indeed!—ed]

Special Immigrant Visa

* By the way, the alleged rapist helped by a US soldier to get into the US is probably an entrant identified as an SIV (short for ‘special immigrant visa’).  It was a new refugee law pushed by the now deceased Senator Ted Kennedy that allows Iraqis (who helped Americans) to get into the US more easily.  We wrote about it years ago, but I’m too pressed for time to look for a link.  You might want to visit WRAPS, here, and check out the data bases.  There is one for SIVs and you will see that Colorado got 288 SIVs since 2008.

States with higher numbers of SIVs are Texas (1691), California (940), Virginia (488), Tennessee (419), then several states that got comparable numbers to Colorado are Michigan, Illinois and North Carolina.
