Only one more month and we celebrate our 9th birthday here at Refugee Resettlement Watch. (I say ‘we’ because RRW was started with the help of my longtime good friend Judy.) Time flies when you are having fun they say!

Posting is going to be a little light in the coming days because it’s hay-making time on the farm and my family has an important gathering coming up.

I have been planning to write a post about the comments (the reviews) at Amazon about my little book, but never got to it. You might want to check them out if you have a few minutes (there are 94 reviews). The ones I liked best are the critical ones especially:

As for the first comment, Christine, I don’t get paid for what I do.  A small stipend to write the booklet, but you can get it free at the Center for Security Policy website!  I have also received an occasional small honorarium to speak (from private organizations and not from the US taxpayer!).
The work I do has been my charitable contribution to America all these years, however, that may change as readers have urged me to add a donation button to RRW. I’m still thinking about it.

As much as I would love to see you all in your hometowns, I hate speaking. I think I am more useful right here researching and writing.  However, I am thinking of a project for this summer that might take me to other states, but that is still in the ‘planning’ stage. I’ll know more soon.

No one pays me (in case my critics think I work for some monstrous evil outfit).  Therefore, I have no staff, no help, and so if I don’t answer the hundreds of e-mails I get every day, you know why!  And, I do apologize!  ***Update*** I recently added a donation button to RRW to help defray some of my costs of producing this website. Small donations are greatly appreciated!
P.S.  There is so much happening on this subject that I would welcome (I encourage!) others to start blogs on the topic, either to cover your local and state issues or even to pick up more of the load nationally!  It does your community no good if you research, find important information (perhaps damning information) and then don’t share it widely!

Oh well, a few days late….
For new readers, every month (we previously reported every week which was too much), I post a roundup of the top posts for the previous month and the top ten countries from which readers hail.
Another thing I do every month (because there are so many new readers and navigating here could be confusing) is tell you generally what I do and where to find information. (My usual boiler-plate is below)
I’ve noticed again recently that readers first arriving at RRW must think that this is some giant organization with staff and interns etc. It isn’t!  This is a blog, a single topic blog, a news outlet focused primarily on the subject of the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program and more generally on the issue of refugee movement around the world.  It is just me here with occasional guest writers. So, I ask your patience if you post a comment and it’s a day later before I post it.  Or, if you send me something and I don’t acknowledge it.
Normally I blog from my home in Maryland, but am hoping to write from the road this summer, so watch for further information in the coming month or so.

It’s not surprising that the Brussels Islamic terrorist attack drove tens of thousands of readers to RRW.  It happens every time there is another bloody attack by those who have been given the gift of starting a new life in the West.
What did Belgium ever do to the young jihadists but “welcome” Muslim immigrants to their country.  And, look what happens, they kill and maim those who welcomed them.
It is simply a matter of the Muslim population reaching critical mass where the Islamists can hide within a community that shelters (and probably fears) them.  Belgium doesn’t have a Gitmo (Obama’s ridiculous argument), it doesn’t fly jets over Syrian villages, and the government of Belgium has signaled that it leans toward Palestine in that never-ending conflict with Israel.  Yet, look what they get for it!
No Mark, love will not conquer Muslim hatred for the West!

By the way, when I wrote this post a few days ago—-about the fact that American taxpayers are shelling out billions of dollars for approximately 200,000 HUMANITARIAN ARRIVALS each year—-that maybe we should be using that figure—200,000—instead of simply referring to the refugee component of the figure (right now set at 85,000 for FY 2016).
