UN Says China Helpful with Refugees! WTH!

Even the UN High Commissioner for Refugees is helping spread Communist Chinese propaganda!

As we have reported over the years, China doesn’t take in refugees or asylum seekers (well at least none in recent decades) and while the UN uses bullying and threats against Japan to force them to diversify their population, I have never once heard the cabal of Leftist Open Borders agitators and the UN pressure China to experience the ‘joys’ of multiculturalism.

Incredible! In 2018, Chinese President Xi Jinping told UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that ” his country has always believed that multilateralism is the only path that best suits the interests of the people of all countries.” http://english.scio.gov.cn/topnews/2018-12/01/content_74229831.htm

Now here is a story clearly meant to suck up to China just as the threat of the Communist Party there and what it is capable of doing to the world (can you say COVID!) is really sinking in for a lot of freedom loving people worldwide.

And, not a mention here of the word UIGHER!

From the Global Times:

China responsible and supportive on refugee issues: UNHCR representative

China and the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency) have maintained a long history of cooperation. China has not only actively participated in the events organized by the UNHCR on refugee relief, but also contributed to international solutions to the refugee crises over the past 41 years. With increasing strength, China is expected play a more prominent role in the field of international refugee relief.

As for China’s role and contribution in the UNHCR, Sivanka Dhanapala, the Representative of UNHCR in China, told the Global Times in an exclusive interview that China has been extremely supportive in international dialogues about refugee issues, and has bolstered shared international responsibility.

What! China the great peacekeeper!

“As a very important member state of the UN, and a permanent member of the Security Council, China plays an extremely significant role in UNHCR through peacekeeping at the Security Council level that helps to stabilize regions that might otherwise end up in political turmoil,” Dhanapala said.

Dhanapala raised an example of Chinese Premier Li Keqiang attending the Leaders Summit on Refugees at the UN headquarters in New York in 2016, noting that China has been extremely supportive in solving refugee issues since then, helping set the tone for shared international responsibility.  [Big whoop! they attended a meeting in New York on refugees.—ed]

According to the Chinese Foreign Ministry’s website, Li addressed at the conference that China actively advocates political resolutions to regional hot-spot issues and has raised its own proposals on ceasefires, political reconciliation and ending violence.

Here the Los Angeles Times a few short years ago (2017) gives a more realistic picture of China’s view of refugees.  It seems they did ‘welcome’ Vietnamese of Chinese origin in the wake of the conflict is Southeast Asia.  They put those ‘refugees’ on farms to work for the state.

There is not a chance in hell that China is going to give refuge to Middle East Muslims and Somalis from Africa!  And, there isn’t a chance in hell that the UN is going to ask that of them!

So while the hard Left blasts President Trump for being xenophobic, racist, and unwelcoming, there is never a bad word for the Chinese government or Chinese President Xi Jinping ! Why is that?

Indeed there is not one critical quote here about Chinese refugee policy in the LA Times story from the likes of Human Rights Watch or any of the Leftists daily demanding that the US take in more diversity.

China once welcomed refugees, but its policies now make Trump look lenient

China gets it!  Diversity is not strength!

China accused of sending Muslim minority Uighurs to re-education camps

The story is bubbling around on the internet and will surely soon break out on cable TV.

The Uighurs (sometimes spelled Uyghurs) are people of Turkish origin.   https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/china-detaining-least-120000-muslim-uighurs-re-education-camps-1656603

Although, not a refugee story yet, it could be in a few years down the road. Once Trump is no longer our President, and if there has been no serious reform of refugee law, the refugee industry will be busy finding more diversity for your towns and cities.

One thing that I find fascinating is that so far I haven’t seen the international Islamic activists seriously attacking the Chinese for Islamophobia in the media (what! no Chinese CAIR?) and definitely not on Chinese soil through terror attacks.

China takes no Syrian refugees for several important (sensible!) reasons

This article at Foreign Policy is a must read.

Uighurs
Problems with their Muslim Uighurs is one reason China is not eager to invite more Islamists to China.

Why aren’t the Chinese on the bandwagon for multiculturalism and “inclusion?”  The most important reason may well be the last one given in this very informative story:

China’s narrative of nationhood is more static and exclusive. It emphasizes shared history and common heritage.

Clearly they haven’t fallen for the ‘diversity is strength’ meme unlike the political Left (their soulmates) in America and in Europe!
Here are a few snips about some of the other reasons they are NOT WELCOMING the stranger.
First, Chinese leaders say the turmoil in the Middle East is our fault:

Chinese authorities argue that Western countries caused the meltdown in Syria that resulted in the mass exodus, making its resolution their responsibility.

[….]

Chinese political ideology actively discourages the acceptance of non-Chinese migrants: non-interference in other countries domestic affairs is the cornerstone of its foreign policy, and accepting refugees is often viewed as demonstrating a political preference of the country of origin. Beijing even claims its foreign aid has “no political strings attached.” Unlike major western powers, China vehemently opposed external interference in Syria — in particular military intervention. By taking in refugees from the region, China could risk forsaking its diplomatic principle and partaking in the fallout of a failed Middle East policy against which it had tried to warn the West.

There’s also little public support for refugee resettlement.

[….]

Mirroring the concerns of some in Europe and the United States, religion is also a factor. Islam is one of the religions whose practice is permitted in China, albeit with many preconditions.

Lots more useful information, read it all.
Maybe those Chinese are pretty smart! They haven’t fallen for the huddled masses propaganda!  They know they need to take care of their own people!

China doesn’t mess around with Islamic terrorists…

….they just execute them.

From JewsNews (hat tip:  Judy):

The Chinese government recently executed eight Uighur Muslims for terrorism, and planning a major terrorist attack. We read from a Chinese report:

Eight terrorists have been executed with the approval of the Supreme People’s Court in Xinjiang, according to the publicity department of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Saturday.

Their crimes involved five cases including the terrorist attack in the Tian’anmen Square in Beijing, the gun-seizing and police-assaulting case in Aksu, the illegal manufacturing of explosives and intentional killing case in Kashgar, and the establishment of terrorist organization, murder of government officials and incineration of checkpoint in Hotan.

Here is our Uighur archive.  You may remember that a few years back some Uighurs held at Guantanamo Bay were going to be resettled as refugees here in the US until a huge public outcry stopped that plan in its tracks.

Australia/Cambodia ‘refugee’ deal still in the works

A heated debate continues over the Australian government’s offer of funding to Cambodia if that country agrees to take some of Australia’s ‘refugee’ overflow.

The Abbott government came into office promising to reduce the illegal migration to Australia and they are working tirelessly to follow up on the pledge.

And, frankly, moves like this one—sending asylum seekers to Cambodia—will surely have a chilling affect on those human traffickers and would-be migrants to not try to get to Australia in the future.

Australian migration minister, Scott Morrison, even had the audacity to suggest that “refugees” are not necessarily entitled to the right to a first world country to escape persecution.  If safety is what they say they want, why not Cambodia?

From ABC News:

The Cambodian government is in the final stages of considering a refugee resettlement agreement with Australia and wants to sign a memorandum of understanding as soon as possible.

[….]

“So far the working group already finished [its] studying on the draft proposed by Australia and I think that maybe soon, maybe a few days, maybe next week … we’ll send our counter-proposal to the Australian side.”

The human rights industrial complex is understandably having a cow over this plan and also blasted Cambodia for returning Muslim Uighurs to China.   So I assume this would also mean that Cambodia wouldn’t want to take too many Muslim potential jihadists from Australia either.

Do these do-gooders really believe that Cambodia could stand up to China which surely must have demanded the Uigur’s return.

Cambodia is a signatory to the refugee convention but in 2009 it forcibly deported 20 ethnic Uighur back to China.

However, Mr Borith said any refugees resettled under a deal struck between Cambodia and Australia would be safe.

“Different story, different from the refugees that we have discussed with our Australian friends to … settle here,” he said.

“The Uighur come here illegally. Far away from China to Cambodia, how many thousand miles is Cambodia?

“They come here illegally. We can say that they [are] all illegal immigrants. That is different from the refugees that we discussed today with Australia.

We will be watching this story because honestly a get-tough strategy is the only thing that could possibly deter the invasion of western countries (do you hear that Europe!  America!).

This is our 137th post in our Australia category, here.
