PEGIDA planning to march in the UK at the end of this month

PEGIDA coming to the UK…

The UK Mirror has a story here, apparently designed to make readers think the worst of PEGIDA:

A notorious ‘anti-Islam’ movement is coming to Britain with its first ever demo and a march likely to attract thousands.

Pegida has sparked huge controversy in Germany.

Under the banner of ‘Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West’, it claims it is trying to defend countries from the spread of extremism at the hands of Muslim immigrants.

[….]

It is advertising its first ever UK demo for Newcastle upon Tyne on February 28, however, with a Facebook campaign expected to attract ‘thousands’.

It is the first of a series of demos planned for the UK, with others due to take place in Manchester, Birmingham and London.

Obviously designed to chill interest in the event, you can read the rest of the PEGIDA vilification story here.

Will wonders never cease! Washington Post report on Germany admits Muslims aren’t assimilating

This is an article the Washington Post ran last Saturday that I am just getting around to mentioning.  I didn’t even read it for a couple of days figuring it would be the usual mainstream media slam of “rightwingers” and “Islamophobes,” but check this out.  Right in the middle of the article is a section (below) which asks how can this be that second and third generation Muslim immigrants aren’t “assimilating?”

Could it possibly be that the Muslim immigrants, having reached critical mass, are more interested in advancing Islam than they are in acquiring the trappings of the ‘good (material) life?’

From the Washington Post on PEGIDA (emphasis is mine):

As the movement has grown, tens of thousands of Germans also have risen up to condemn Pegida, taking to the streets in counter-demonstrations that have often been far larger that the anti-Islamic, anti-immigrant rallies they are opposing. Yet the Pegida movement has seemed to tap into a hidden vein of German angst.

Not assimilating!

Some here are worried not only about the new asylum seekers, but also about the growing numbers of other migrants entering Europe’s largest and strongest economy. Equally vexing to many is the lack of assimilation among a significant number of Muslim immigrants, some of whom came to Germany decades ago. Last September, for example, Germans were outraged after a stunt in the city of Wuppertal in which 11 devout Muslims wearing the words “Sharia Police” on bright orange vests approached Turkish nightclubs and cafes and warned young partygoers that they were violating Islamic law by drinking.

Such fears have surfaced as security concerns are mounting in Germany and across Europe over the threat of homegrown terror. As in France, hundreds of radicalized young Germans — many of them the second- and third-generation sons and daughters of Muslim immigrants — have left to fight with extremists in Syria and Iraq.

“How is it possible that parallel societies are forming in Germany?” Pegida spokeswoman Kathrin Oertel said on German TV last week. “That Islamic judges have the right to administer justice, and that Islamic schools are inciting hatred against German citizens?”

It is because Islam and the advancement of the Caliphate is stronger and infinitely more important than anything (jobs, nice homes, fashionable clothes) Germany can offer!  Get it!

And, it goes on because most Western governments are chicken!

Refugee murdered in Dresden was killed by fellow refugee, not by raving mad neo-Nazis!

The German media should be ashamed of itself!

Thousands turned out to march for Khalid, the murdered Muslim, when they thought some crazed PEGIDA supporter had knifed him to death.

We didn’t mention the story (the murder) when it happened mostly because it seemed too convenient that just as the anti-immigration (anti-Islamization) movement PEGIDA was expanding dramatically, and the Paris slaughter had just occurred, the media directed us to ‘look over here’ where some German right-winger MIGHT have murdered a poor African migrant in Dresden.

January 15th: Here is just one of MANY articles that came out after an Eritrean Muslim ‘asylum seeker’ was found dead in Dresden:

Germany’s recent upsurge in anti-Islam sentiment appears to have taken a dark new turn, as a 20-year old asylum seeker was murdered in Dresden this week.

Khaled Idris Bahray, a Muslim originally from Eritrea, was found stabbed to death close to his home in southern Dresden on Tuesday morning. The previous night, an estimated 25,000 demonstrators from the far-right Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (PEGIDA) group, which proclaims to oppose Islamic extremism, had marched through the center of the German city. Many have now linked the murder of the 20-year-old to the ongoing increase in racist attacks there.

[….]

Immediately following the incident, questions were raised regarding the increasing prevalence of anti-immigrant and anti-Islam sentiments in the city. Just days before the attack, neo-Nazi graffiti, including a swastika, was painted on the door of the flat in which Khaled was living, accompanied by the message “We’ll get you all.”

Many foreigners feel insecure on the streets of the city amid the upswing in attacks in Dresden. After a PEGIDA demonstration in December, a group of “foreign-looking youths” came under attack in a Dresden mall, with several injuries reported. An Eritrean speaker at a vigil held in memory of Khaled told the crowd: “We are afraid. Help us,” before claiming that most asylum seekers in the city want to leave.  [So let them leave!—ed]

The rise in hostility towards refugees and migrants has been linked to the ongoing PEGIDA demonstrations, which began in October 2014 and have now risen to attendance levels estimated at 25,000 people.

Then get this!  Thousands turned out to proclaim,”Ich bin Khalid!”

January 17th: Here at Deutsche Welle:

Under the slogan “Rights and security for refugees – in memory of Khaled,” the march on Saturday aimed not only to remember Khaled I., but also to show a sign of solidarity with asylum seekers and refugees in Dresden, particularly in light of an apparent increase in xenophobic sentiment in recent months.

Following in the footsteps of mourners across the world who last weekend remembered the Paris attack victims with the slogan “Je suis Charlie,” many of those marching in memory of Khaled I. on Saturday were seen holding signs bearing the words “Ich bin Khaled” (I am Khaled).

Amid claims that Khaled I.’s stabbing could have been racially motivated, the participants at the march also demanded an explanation for his death and criticized the anti-Islamization group PEGIDA, which the marchers accuse of turning Dresden into a “center of xenophobia.”

Another asylum seeker arrested in the murder!

January 22nd:  Oopsy!  Deutsche Welle, with no apology for its previous reporting, tells us that Khalid’s roommate, another Eritrean, has been arrested in the murder.  Shouldn’t the press now be asking about the sorts of people being allowed to reside among German citizens?

The Dresden district attorney’s office confirmed on Thursday that an arrest warrant for manslaughter had been issued in the case of an asylum seeker who was found dead a little over a week ago. The accused killer had been remanded into custody as a result of DNA evidence found on the murder weapon.

The suspect was a housemate of Khaled B., the 20-year old from Eritrea who was discovered dead in his high-rise in Dresden’s Leubnitz-Neuostra district where he lived with other asylum seekers. The police originally issued a report saying there was no evidence of foul play, but reversed this statement when a coroner’s report listed multiple stab wounds to the neck and chest.

The 26-year-old suspect is also thought to be from Eritrea, quelling rumors that the murder was a hate crime, which had been circulating since swastika graffiti was found in the staircase near Khaled’s apartment. The accused has alledgedly confessed while in custody and given his motive as a fight over household concerns that turned violent.  [Ha! “Rumors” that Deutsche Welle has been only too happy to perpetuate.—ed]

Have you noticed that the authorities almost never figure out who is doing the graffiti writing—I wouldn’t be surprised if it isn’t the wannabe new Germans doing it themselves.

Final note:  A recent poll (before the atrocity in Paris!) in Germany found that 57% of Germans feel that Islam is a threat!  See The Local.

The survey was carried out in November – before the massacre of journalists in Paris by Islamist gunmen – but as the numbers attending anti-Muslim rallies in Dresden and other cities began to escalate.

The Bertelsman Foundation think tank survey looked at the perception of Islam in Germany from the eyes of Muslims and non-Muslims. Of the non-Muslims surveyed, 57 percent thought that Islam was threatening or very threatening to German society.

TNS Emnid, which conducted the survey for the Bertelsman Foundation think tank, said it’s a rise of four percent since 2012 when the study was last conducted. The research institute surveyed 937 non-Muslim Germans for the survey in November 2014.

Even more respondents felt that Islam did not fit into western society: 61 percent said not really or not at all. A rise of nine percent over 2012.

Forty percent felt like “foreigners in their own country” because of the perceived increase in the Muslim population.

Authorities cancel the usual Monday anti-Islamification rally in Dresden, Germany; say organizers lives at risk

It is Monday morning and one of the first things I did was look for news about how today’s anti-Islamification march by PEGIDA was shaping up.  I’m such a cynic and so this news from NBC yesterday seems (to me) like a very easy way for Chancellor Angela Merkel to shut up those pesky demonstrators—just claim that the government is shutting it down for the ‘Right-wings’ own good (ironically to save their lives from Islamic terrorists or their Left-wing enablers).

Last week 25,000 turned out in Dresden, the highest number so far! Photo: http://www.thelocal.de/20150113/inside-dresdens-pegida-march

Actually when you think about it, if Islamic terrorists should (God forbid) kill organizers of the anti-Muslim immigration movement, the civil war might come sooner than it surely will later.

From NBC News (emphasis is mine):

German authorities canceled a march by the anti-Islam PEGIDA movement in Dresden due to a “concrete threat” against the group’s weekly gathering, officials said Sunday.

PEGIDA — or “Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West” — drew 25,000 people at its last rally in eastern Germany. While some of the PEGIDA protesters are believed to be right-wing extremists, the majority are not believed to be. The group’s protests, fueled by fears that the country could be overrun by Muslims and other immigrants, have alarmed German officials.

Dresden Police said in a statement Monday that it had received information relating to a “concrete danger” in connection with PEGIDA’s weekly rally and that it was banning the demonstration and public gatherings in the city for Monday.

“Attackers were called on to intermix with the PEGIDA demonstrators in order to commit a killing of single members of the PEGIDA organizing team,” Dresden police president Dieter Kroll said in a statement. “We have to act on the assumption that there is an immediate danger to the lives of all participants in the demonstration.”

What do you bet another threat is called in next week!

Ignoring Merkel (again) Dresden “Trauermarsch” goes on, draws record numbers opposed to the Islamification of Germany

Protestors ignored Merkel’s appeal to stay away. However, apparently she will choose sides today and march with Muslims! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/01/13/merkel-germany-muslims_n_6463236.html

They marched again in Dresden yesterday and exceeded last week’s anti-Islam numbers by about 7,000 according to the BBC:

A record 25,000 people have joined an anti-Islamisation rally in Dresden, Germany, called in the wake of the Paris terror attacks.

The protesters defied calls from German politicians to stay away from the Pegida organisation’s rally.

Elsewhere across Germany, tens of thousands of people joined anti-Pegida rallies.

Merkel says she will march for Muslims today:

Chancellor Angela Merkel has said she will attend a protest organised by Muslim groups in Berlin on Tuesday.

[….]

They marched in silence – at first at least. Normally Pegida’s demonstrations in Dresden are rowdy affairs but this, organisers emphasised, was a “Trauermarsch” (a mourning march) dedicated to the victims of the Paris shootings.

Pegida’s been accused of trying to capitalise on the terror attacks, and Angela Merkel warned Germans not to support them.

But tonight thousands of people ignored her, some wearing black ribbons as they marched.
