UNHCR helping Somalis return home! And, so should we!

Somalis going home
Somalis line up to return to Mogadishu from Kenyan refugee camp, yet we are still bringing them to the US from the same camp! Why? http://www.unmultimedia.org/radio/english/2015/08/somali-refugees-helped-to-return-home/#.VceRpflViko

So why are we still hauling them into the US by the thousands every year?

From Somaliaweyn Media Center (hat tip: Joanne)

(UNHCR) – More than 100 Somali refugees from Kenya flew into the Somali capital Mogadishu on Wednesday, marking a new chapter in the voluntary return process.

Earlier in the day, two planes, carrying 116 people, took off from Dadaab camp in Northeastern Kenya. Dadaab is the largest refugee settlement in the world and hosts about 333,000 Somali refugees.

The voluntary returns came after the Tripartite Commission formed by UNHCR (UN High Commissioner for Refugees) and the Governments of Kenya and Somalia, agreed to step up support for voluntary repatriations of Somali refugees.

The Commission met on 29 July and decided to scale up assistance to Somali refugees in Kenya wishing to return home and agreed on a strategy that envisaged the voluntary repatriation of some 425,000 Somali refugees over a five-year period. Beside Dadaab, other Somali refugees live in Kakuma refugee camp and in major towns and cities across the country.

Despite continuing security challenges, refugees have started to return to Somalia. Between December 2014 and early August, 2015, some 2,969 Somali refugees returned to the districts of Luuq, Baidoa and Kismayo, with UNHCR support as part of a pilot phase which has now ended.

Still more have returned spontaneously without receiving assistance from UNHCR…

I guess these are the brave and resourceful Somalis who want to help make their country a better place to live!
Look at the data!  We have admitted 7,044 Somalis to the US just this fiscal year!  Wouldn’t it make more sense for the UN to educate them in Dadaab and send them HOME to rebuild Somalia rather than drop them off as meatpacking cheap (slave) labor in the American Midwest or reliable voters to support the likes of Rep. Keith Ellison.
Heck, we even have a Minnesota woman running to be President of Somalia!

Is it time for that repatriation fund?

How about a bill in Congress that would fund the return of Somalis to Somalia (throwing in a little start up money) and let them go home!
And, at the same time, stop new ones from coming in!
That is something every thinking person could get behind!  Gee, if Rep Ellison truly cared about the Somalis and rebuilding their homeland he should introduce this bill!  This might even be a bill that could reach across the aisle!

Don’t let them use the Lady Liberty b.s. anymore! Remove the poem!

This is a portion of a comment we received yesterday to our post about the union leaders and other No Borders advocates planning to rally against a local St. Cloud, MN VFW post because the post had the temerity to allow some people to eat dinner there that the Leftists/Progressives didn’t approve of.  See that post because there is an update about the big pro-America barbecue planned for the VFW.

The commenter, Will Servant, apparently is ignorant of the history of the Statue of Liberty and how the Emma Lazarus poem got there in the first place.

I’m posting this so you will know how to answer when the No Borders agitators try to shut you up with this babble.  From Mr. Servant:

Time to get rid of the ” schmaltzy sonnet!” Let’s go on the offense for a change. Let’s find someone in Congress to introduce legislation to remove the ‘poem.’ After all, it is not historically accurate.  Getting the plaque removed to a museum, although symbolic, would do more to restore immigration sanity than just about anything else we could do!

Thanks Ann.

You’ve given me enough half truths, innuendo, and opinion masquerading as truth, to last at least until Thanksgiving. I am saddened that there are people so dramatically opposed to what I consider to be righteous and Christian, the caring for the least of us. I am dismayed that there are those who think so incredibly different than I do that it is nearly impossible to even engage them in respectful dialogue. Here is a quote from the famous poem inscribed on a pedestal at the Statue of Liberty.

“Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

Lady Liberty does not mention any exceptions. She does not say give me your preferred, only those I consider deserving. She does not say give me your huddled masses yearning to be free, as long as we don’t have to spend any money on them. She does not have an ethnic or religious litmus test to decide who gets the protection of our mighty nation, in their quest for a better life. Lady Liberty’s lamp lights the way to freedom for everybody. It cannot be extinguished for one and not the other.

Mr. Servant is displaying his ignorance of history!

Here then, for Mr. Servant’s edification, is the real history of the French gift to America—Lady Liberty—from none other than Roberto Suro, a professor at the Annenberg School of Journalism, founding director of the Pew Hispanic Center, and published in the Washington Post (that right wing rag!).

The article is entitled, ‘She Was Never About Those Huddled Masses.’

Professor Suro tells us in no uncertain terms that the Emma Lazarus poem has to go!

The poem did not come with the statue!  It’s a myth! The message of Lady Liberty was never about immigration!  It is about the Declaration of Independence!
Roberto Suro:

Let’s get rid of The Poem.

I’m talking about “Give me your tired, your poor . . . ” — that poem, “The New Colossus” by Emma Lazarus, which sometimes seems to define us as a nation even more than Lady Liberty herself.

Inscribed on a small brass plaque mounted inside the statue’s stone base, the poem is an appendix, added belatedly, and it can safely be removed, shrouded or at least marked with a big asterisk. We live in a different era of immigration, and the schmaltzy sonnet offers a dangerously distorted picture of the relationship between newcomers and their new land.

The most enduring meaning conveyed by Lady Liberty has nothing do with immigration, and I say let’s go back to that. The statue’s original name is “Liberty Enlightening the World,” and the tablet the lady holds in her left hand reads “July IV, MDCCLXXVI” to commemorate the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Lady Liberty celebrates U.S. political values as a force for the betterment of humanity, as well as the bond of friendship among freedom-loving nations. That’s a powerful and worthy message.

And the message would have been the same if the statue had ended up in Philadelphia or Cleveland — both were possibilities when New York was having trouble raising money for the pedestal in the late 1870s. Far from Ellis Island, no one would associate it with immigration. Too bad, because on this subject Lady Liberty misleads more than she illuminates, especially with Lazarus’s added spin.

Read it all here, it is very useful information for the next time some No Borders know-it-all agitator tries to guilt-trip you into thinking that Lady Liberty is frowning on you (calling you a racist!) for daring to question our immigration numbers that anyone in their right mind knows are completely unsustainable today.

Calling all activists (again!)

Since your numbers are growing so rapidly, I can’t keep track of you all; and because we now need to step-up the resistance by becoming better organized locally and within states, the Center for Security Policy has offered to help me/us find you.   Right now we just want to locate those of you wishing to get more deeply involved in this all-important issue.
We have had a very good response and hope to soon be able to start helping you find each other.  If you haven’t signed up yet, please do!

Here is the Center for Security Policy:

In response to growing interest in spreading knowledge about our deeply flawed refugee resettlement policy, and building resistance to it, we have started to collect contact and geographical data from those who wish to stay engaged. Fill out only the fields you are comfortable filling below. At this time we are collecting data to gauge interest and we will keep you updated with news and action items as they come in. In the near future we hope to use this data to connect activists in their local areas to run with their own initiatives going forward. In the meantime, take advantage of the following resources:

Ann Corcoran’s Refugee Resettlement Watch blog, monograph Refugee Resettlement and the Hijra to America and YouTube videos on the subject.

Also check out Jim Simpson’s drill-down on the topic on Kindle: The Red-Green Axis: Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America. A paperback version of the book and a promotion YouTube video will be available very soon. Thank you so much for your interest.

Now please go to the website and send us your contact information. Please know that this is not for fundraising purposes.  It is to facilitate organizing on a state-by-state basis. We will never begin to reform or roll-back this out-of-control immigration program without your help, so please step up and join the fight!

Traveling again!

I’ll be away from my computer tomorrow and Thursday (sorry won’t be able to post your comments).  If you are arriving here for the first time, just use our search bar in the top left hand side bar, enter a few key words (you might try your state or city first) and see what we have said over the last eight years on that topic.

News from Spartanburg, SC, a "Pocket of Resistance"

This is one more in our new series of posts on what concerned citizens are doing to resist the colonization of their towns and cities by the UN/US State Department using impoverished third worlders (all part of the Obama Administration plan to “seed” your community with ethnic and economic diversity).
We will be bringing to you as many of these stories as we can so that you may find inspiration and support for what you are doing in your state.

Dr. Christina Jeffrey

For new readers, Spartanburg, SC residents learned in early spring that their town was targeted by one of the nine major federal contractors, in this case World Relief (Evangelicals), to begin receiving refugees this fiscal year (FY 2015 ends Sept. 30, 2015).  To catch up, go here to our first post (with updates).
Rep. Trey Gowdy represents the district and is Chairman of the all-important House Judiciary, Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security.  Gowdy should have called for hearings on the program weeks ago!

Get the facts!

Sounds boring, but one of the first steps for those of you questioning a new resettlement site or an existing one is to gather your facts and get those facts to the general public.
The US Refugee Admissions Program, as we have chronicled for the last 8 years, is largely a secretive program.  Why? Because once taxpaying citizens understand how it works and what it costs, they usually reject the whole scheme.
So here is Dr. Christina Jeffrey announcing the release of a document and fact sheet that she and her group have prepared for South Carolina citizens (really all of you across the country).  Emphasis is mine:

One of the biggest threats today to U.S. sovereignty is mass immigration. While we were focused on illegal immigration, massive legal immigration was increasing wildly under the radar. I was not aware of the huge pressure being brought to bear by various programs that have been bringing in tens of thousands of immigrants/permanent residents every year.

This year, Spartanburg was chosen to be the one hundred and ninety-first “welcoming city.” I had to do some homework to find out what that meant.

I learned that our new neighbors were being selected for us by a program called Refugee Resettlement, one of the largest legal immigration programs. It is run by the State Department in cooperation with the United Nations. To give you a quick overview of the program, I have prepared a 10 point fact sheet.

The fact sheet is a good place to start, but not enough. Some friends and neighbors, good writers and researchers, came together to research and write about the Refugee Resettlement Program. The material is carefully sourced with live links that should allow you to instantly read primary documents like the President’s April 15 report on “Welcoming New Americans.”

We call our local “pocket of resistance,” The Shoemaker Guild.

This report will enable you to approach your elected officials with good, “take it to the bank” information. Please feel free to share widely.

God bless you and God bless America.

'Welcoming America Watch' is on the case, example of what citizens are doing to fight back

Welcoming America, the Leftwing community organizing group which the Office of Refugee Resettlement hired, here, with your money seems to be targeting the Midwest and especially Ohio (see Welcoming America targets Cleveland) with its propaganda about how refugees and immigrants will save the economy.  On Thursday they held a pow-wow in Dayton reported in a post entitled, ‘Rust Belt Cities Embrace Immigrants as Key to Future.’

Agenda to Erase America: James Simpson goes into greater detail about Welcoming America in his recently published book.

I looked at all the information at their website, here, on the ‘Convening Dayton’ meeting and their ‘WE Global Network’ and realized I don’t have enough hours in the day to dissect it all and report on it.  So, I was relieved to see that the new blog ‘Welcoming America Watch—Midwest‘ is on the case.  See post here.  And don’t miss this one.

I sure wish one of those Washington, DC immigration control groups would do economic studies that counter this propaganda that immigrants and refugees will bring economic life back to impoverished cities.

I believe the No Borders advocates’ glowing numbers would prove to be bogus if smart economic minds added in the cost of welfare, the costs in local education budgets, health department budgets, the costs to taxpayers of the criminal justice system, and last but not least, the costs to the American economy of the remittance dollars that leave the country permanently.
‘Welcoming America Watch–Midwest’ is a prime example of the ‘resistance’ movement we discussed, here, yesterday where the blogger is a concerned citizen just like you and me!
For more on ‘Welcoming America,’ be sure to see James Simpson’s book, ‘The Red-Green Axis, Refugees, Immigration and the Agenda to Erase America’, in which he goes into more depth about ‘Welcoming America’s’ plans to “seed” towns and cities with migrants (who will of course vote for Democrats!).
This post is archived in our new Pockets of Resistance’ category.
I’m going to nag you—resistance fighters—to death!   You must publish your local research.  Any documents you find (or produce), any meetings of the opposition (or local government meetings) that you attend, any local news articles that must get out to a wider audience, must be posted preferably at a website or blog.  Facebook is o.k. but your work can’t be easily retrieved a year from now.
You are investigative reporters and you must build your numbers by reaching and educating more Americans where you live.  I love all the research that is going on around the country, but I can’t possibly process it all!
Knowledge is power!
The other side (working on colonizing your towns and cities) does everything it can to keep what they are doing secret! They hate it when you know what they are up to!  But, that knowledge has to go beyond just you, or it is wasted!
