Uh oh! Monday could be hot in Germany as Muslims plan counter-demo against Islamophobes

The demonstration from both sides is planned for Cologne which saw a huge outpouring of concern for the Islamization of Germany last October.  However, the largest demonstrations against further Muslim immigration to Germany have occurred in Dresden on recent Mondays.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s New Year’s message: If you question Muslim immigration you have “hatred in your hearts.”

From the World Bulletin (emphasis is mine):

At least 13 non-governmental organizations of Muslim and ethnic-Turkish immigrants in Germany announced Thursday their joint decision to protest against the right-wing populist PEGIDA movement.

“We are calling on all citizens to join demonstration in Cologne on Jan. 5 and take a stance against racism, xenophobia, hatred against foreigners and hostility against Islam,” the organizations said in a joint statement.

“We will support all democratic initiatives and allies that oppose PEGIDA and other groups inspired by it,” the statement added.

Germany’s Muslim Coordination Council, a platform of four large Muslim organizations in the country, signed the joint statement along with associations representing Turkish-German businessmen, TUMSIAD and MUSIAD-NRW.

Union of European Turkish Democrats, one of the most influential organizations among Germany’s three million Turks, also backed the call for joining the counter-protests in Cologne, organized by a German citizen initiative supported by political parties, trade unions and church organizations.

Cologne is one of Germany’s most populated cities known for its multi-cultural plurality and large number of immigrants.

A recently formed right-wing anti-Islam movement, Cologne Against Islamization of the West, is also planning a demonstration in the city Monday. The initiative is a copycat group inspired by the Patriotic Europeans Against Islamization of the West or the PEGIDA, which gathered more than 17,000 protesters in the city on Dec. 22. The rise of the right-wing group made headlines in Germany and abroad.

Germany witnessed an increase in suspicion and negative feelings towards Muslims in recent months as far right and populist parties sought to benefit from a growing fear of Islam and Muslims, largely influenced by reports of murders and atrocities committed by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant terrorist group in the Middle East.

Nearly 30 percent of Germans polled by the Stern magazine said they believed anti-Islam demonstrations organized by PEGIDA were justifiable.

Meanwhile, Merkel says we love our Muslims (underlying message, our economy needs those cheap laborers!)

From OnIslam:

CAIRO – Addressing the nation on the eve of the New Year, German chancellor Angela Merkel urged people to help refugees fleeing conflicts, telling them to turn their backs to the “racist”, “full of hatred” anti-Muslim grass-roots movement.

“It goes without saying that we help them and take in people who seek refuge with us,” the chancellor said, Deutsche Welle reported.

Merkel also urged Germans to welcome immigrants, adding that Europe’s biggest economy must welcome people fleeing conflict and war.

She also lamented the rise of the new movement, Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the West (PEGIDA), that has been holding weekly rallies in the eastern city of Dresden for weeks.

Referring to protests that took place before the fall of the Berlin Wall, Merkel said, “Today many people are again shouting on Mondays: ‘We are the people’. But in fact they mean: You do not belong – because of the color of your skin or your religion,” Reuters reported.

“So I say to everyone who goes to such demonstrations: Do not follow those who are appealing to you! Because too often there is prejudice, coldness, even hatred, in their hearts.”

She really does have that Leftist lingo down!

Don’t you think it’s interesting that some never learn from history.  Germany, of all places, should know the perils of silencing speech.

Cheyenne, WY: Citizens to rally for states rights and against federal government sending refugees to Wyoming, Saturday Nov. 1

Show your support, meet in beautiful Cheyenne, Wyoming on Saturday November 1st! http://www.cheyenne.org/listings/index.cfm?listingID=79

As regular readers know, we have been writing on and off for months about the federal government and a Lutheran resettlement contractor with plans to resettle refugees in the last state in the nation without a formal resettlement program.

Over a year ago, Republican Governor Matt Mead appeared very hot on the idea, here, when he sent a letter to the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement stating that the State of Wyoming has elected to pursue a resettlement program.

See our complete archive on the fire storm his letter created by clicking here.

This is a press release making the rounds in Wyoming for Saturday’s rally. If you can’t attend, find other ways to lend support.

CAPITOL STEPS RALLY – SAT., NOV. 1st, 11-1:30 & EDUC. EVENT – 7pm

______________________________
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NOV. 1st CHEYENNE CAPITOL RALLY – REFUGEE IMPACT ON WYOMING?

Casper, Wyoming – October 28, 2014 – Citizens Protecting Wyoming (CPW) – a non-partisan non-profit – calls on elected public servants and candidates listed on the November ballot, to address and listen to citizen concerns about “any” Wyoming Refugee Resettlement Program (RRP) or plans.

A rally dedicated to this purpose is scheduled from 11:00am -1:30pm on Saturday, November 1st by the State Capitol steps, followed by a Honk & Wave and a 7:00 pm educational event.

Mike Ellmore, a CPW representative from Gillette stated, “Concerns we are hearing across the state range from refugee problems communities around the US are having, including health, safety, cultural conflicts, drains on welfare, medical, community and educational programs.”

Don Barnett, the keynote speaker flying in for the rally and evening educational/organizing event said, “The program (RRP) places significant unfunded costs on state and local taxpayers in the form of social services which must be provided.

The recent US Ebola outbreaks have sparked renewed attention in Governor Mead’s September 2013 letter to Washington, D.C. committing, “The State of Wyoming has elected to pursue …. and participate in that program … .” (http://refugeemead.com).

Foregoing pubic knowledge, input or agreement, Mead is set to allow Wyoming to become the last state in the US to have a RRP forced upon the citizens by the Federal government implemented United Nations programs.

In a March 2014 public letter (bit.ly/OuI4vE), Mead states that Wyomingites would be involved in RRP discussions and decisions and that, “I welcome the participation of all citizens.” After seven months of Mead not providing a public venue, the CPW is responding to the growing concerns voiced by Wyomingites by facilitating the citizen-government dialogue on Nov. 1st at the State Capitol (details below.)

Ace Halstead, CPW Public Relations, reported, “Wyomingites want the truth. Mead’s office has recently responded with a RRP “Fact Sheet” which demonstrates his apparent continued avoidance of actual factual matters of this issue. This shows me a lack of transparency and serves only to misdirect from reality and create additional unnecessary confusion.”

Karen Bogart, CPW of Casper noted, “A permit was secured for the 11:00am -1:30pm rally on Saturday, Nov. 1st at the State Capitol steps (Updates here: http://on.fb.me/1wb30Ki). RSVP for a 7:00pm Educational – Motivation – Citizen Training is also offered (on.fb.me/1vyxw25). Discounted motel rooms are available. More event/hotel details: www.CitizensProtectingWyoming.org. Taxpayers fund savings accounts for refugees

How do refugees get money for cars, houses, education, businesses?

The program is known as Individual Development Accounts through the Office of Refugee Resettlement (HHS).

Albert Mbanfu, Director of the International Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. http://www.bgdailynews.com/new-international-center-director/image_02fb9de4-89e7-5d6d-97e8-6cf648b73901.html?mode=jqm

This is one of the many ways your local refugee resettlement contractor is able to hand out government (your) cash to refugees and surely get a little cash for themselves for administering the program.  (There are also micro-enterprise loan programs especially for refugees as well).

The local contractor gets a grant from ORR and then refugees may sign up for the savings plan.

For every dollar they save toward certain savings goals, they are matched with a dollar from the US Treasury.  Frankly the complete unfairness of the program to American low income people is often responsible for the hard feelings toward some refugees in certain areas.

We have heard disgruntled citizens ask, for example:  how are they getting cars?

We have reported on this program often but the story we mentioned from Kentucky (yesterday) contained a reference to the program that you may not have noticed, so I thought some clarification was needed.

Here is the section of the ‘Refugees get new homes’ Bowling Green article (hat tip: Robin) that I want you to see:

When Me Meh and her family escaped Burma for a refugee camp in Thailand, they lived in a bamboo house without electricity or other amenities.

The family of 10 resettled in Bowling Green in 2009, bringing with them only some clothes and important papers, Meh said. She was 17. Meh’s two older brothers and her father started work while she went to school and her mother took care of their home.

After a couple of years, the three had saved $4,000. She said the International Center gave them a grant that matched their savings, and they were able to put a downpayment on a house.

The reader is left with the impression that this very nice resettlement contractor—the International Center—was being generous, but this is taxpayer money that was only passed-through the contractor’s coffers!

Go here for a recent list of grantees for the multi-million dollar program.  And, for more information you might want to look at page 38-40 of the FY2012 Annual Report to Congress.   While you are visiting the Annual Report, check out all of the other grant programs that refugee contractors can apply for.  You will be amazed!

Addendum:  I was once told by an official involved with the refugee program in Washington that there is no financial audit done of these resettlement contractors.

Vermont wants open-borders for Vermont, right Senator Leahy?

I’m really warming to the idea of a grassroots/media campaign to send more refugees to Vermont including those ‘unaccompanied alien minors’ surging at our border.

Vermont Senator Patrick Leahy as he rolled into Washington in 1975. Come on Pat! It’s time to open the borders of “welcoming” Vermont to the “children!” Photo: http://bigstory.ap.org/photo/patrick-leahy-12

If you missed my post about two weeks ago about Vermont’s elected ‘leaders’ running their mouths about how we must be more “welcoming”and knowing that Vermont Senator Leahy has been a champion of refugee resettlement and a Senate leader for the passage of S.744 (the Gang of Eight’s amnesty bill), you know that Vermont must surely be the most “welcoming” state in the nation led by such a generous man.

Then how could this be?

I just checked the statistics for this fiscal year and Vermont has “welcomed” a paltry 228 refugees while 50,988 were resettled around the country.

Vermont! It is time to put up or shut up.

In response to my post yesterday on the Vermont “refugee” group sending illegal aliens across the border into Canada reader, ‘sodiumpen’ said this:

Interesting that the VI&AA shuffled the illegal immigrants, etc. out of Vermont into Canada. Guess they didn’t want to keep them in-state?!

Just think of all the ski area hotels, motels, ski lodges, etc. that are seasonally vacant. I’m sure they’d make great accommodations for all those illegal alien children – especially the older teens!

Another good reason to funnel more unaccompanied minors and illegals into Vermont is the state plans on beginning a single payer health plan in 2017:

“The state has a planned 2017 launch of the nation’s first universal healthcare system, a sort of modified Medicare-for-all that has long been a dream for many liberals.”
http://www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20131026/INFO/310269893

I’m sure all those liberal residents of Vermont will be glad to foot the healthcare bill for all of their new, incoming residents (instead of the non-Vermonters) – along with happily enabling & fulfilling the other liberal dreams of unfettered illegal immigration/open borders/amnesty.

Sounds like a win/win to me!

To me too!

Remember, earlier this year we reported on a document (key indicators) produced by the Office of Refugee Resettlement in HHS, that says the feds are looking for more “welcoming” sites and the availability of ‘free’ healthcare is one of the top criteria.  Vermont sounds like it is just the ticket!

As reader Jake said, let’s just call Vermont The Green Card State!

NumbersUSA urges activists to attend town halls in August

….and they have a handy map to help you find one near you.

More Republicans (in red) willing to hold town hall meetings then Dems.

Here is a story from the Washington Examiner reporting on the action alert!  Ready to Rumble!

Even if lightning strikes Friday and Congress OK’s an immigration bill, activists angered with unaccompanied minors swarming over the U.S.-Mexico border plan to invade town hall meetings House members are planning during the five-week congressional recess.

Congress did act on immigration bills, but as we know, it changes nothing so be sure to find a town hall meeting near you by clicking here.

While you are at NumbersUSA check out their Congressional report cards so you know how your Members of Congress and US Senators are doing on immigration issues.
