Kennewick, WA: Can’t ID man who attempted to kill police officer with sword?

….First, the authorities and the media should call the local refugee resettlement contractor and see if he is one of theirs.  In this case the contractor World Relief Tri-Cities is the primary contractor for Richland/Kennewick/Pasco.  See one story here from 2013.

***Update*** Yup! Somali refugee, but the resettlement agency didn’t return phone calls. See here.

They will know if Hussain Hassan is one of the refugees they were paid to resettle in Kennewick or nearby.

Here is the story at World Net Daily by Leo Hohmann.  The police killed Hassan, but amazing no national news on this story from Sunday?

A 46-year-old man identified as Hussein Hassan attacked a police officer in Kennewick, Washington, over the weekend with a large sword, striking at the officer’s head before he was shot and killed.

The resettlement contractor, World Relief, for the Tri-Cities is located in Richland. See national list and find out if you have a refugee contractor nearby. Should be the first stop for police and media when trying to determine immigration status of someone involved in a crime that sounds like it is related to Islam. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.files.wordpress.com/2015/10/acb67-publicaffiliatedirectory1-6-17.pdf

A spokesman for the police said two officers responded to a 9-1-1 call at 6:38 p.m. Sunday about a man walking down Olympia Street near 10th Avenue armed with a sword.

The two officers arrived on the scene at the same time in separate cars at about 6:40 p.m. One officer got out of his car to confront Hassan and police say the man started swinging the sword, striking the officer at least once in the head with the blade.

Both officers opened fire on the suspect and put him down.

The officer was treated and released from an area hospital after receiving 17 staples to close the head wound.

Almost 24 hours later, on Monday evening, police identified the dead man as Hassan, but gave only scant details – his age and current city of residence.

[….]

Kennewick, a small city of about 73,000 population, has been a hotbed of refugee resettlement over the years. The U.S. State Department, in cooperation with the United Nations, has distributed more than 475 refugees into Kennewick since 9/11 from Muslim-majority nations, according to the State Department’s online database. That includes 206 from Iraq, 99 from Somalia, 69 from Sudan, 31 from Afghanistan and nine just in the past 10 months from Syria.

Other than Seattle, where there are thousands of Somali refugees, we have said little over the years about ‘welcoming’ Washington state, but go here for what we do have in the archives.

Failing to be granted asylum in US, Somalis heading for Canadian border

When one sees stories titled like this one:

Somalis With Criminal Records Are Heading for Canadian Border

One immediately assumes this story has to do with changing US refugee policy under Donald Trump’s presidency, but check this out, they were already heading to Canada under Obama.

From Alpha News:

Fear of deportation is causing some Somalis with criminal records to head for the Canadian border, according to a new report from Global News.

The usual route: http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/u-s-group-asks-asylum-seekers-not-to-cross-border-into-manitoba-1.3287759

A Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intelligence brief from January 2016 obtained by Global News shows an increase in Somali nationals with criminal records crossing the border into Canada.

According to the report, 16 Somalis with “serious” criminal records crossed the border into Canada between 2012 and 2015. Of the 16, 11 had criminal records in Minnesota. Most of the asylum seekers crossed the border near Emerson, Manitoba.

The CBSA believes the asylum seekers are attempting to avoid deportation by U.S. immigration authorities by claiming refugee protection in Canada. Somali deportations began to rise under former President Barack Obama during the same time Canada saw an increase of asylum seekers with criminal records. According to data from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), 65 Somalis were deported in 2014, 120 in 2015, and 198 in 2016.

The number of deportations has continued to increase under President Donald Trump. As of early May 2017, about half way through the fiscal year, 259 Somalis had been deported. Of the 259, 80 were deported from the St. Paul ICE office. About one quarter of those deported have criminal records.

Alpha News has a nice graphic showing an uptick in Somali deportations from the US.

The CBSA intelligence report does not reveal data for 2017, however, border patrol officers in Emerson, Manitoba have reported a significant increase of asylum seekers with criminal records. Jean-Pierre Fortin, National President of the Customs and Immigration Union in Manitoba, told CBC News border officers in Emerson estimate as many as 50 percent of asylum seekers have a “serious criminality record.”

No official data, but Reuters is happy to produce some for 2017 anyway!

As Alpha News previously reported, Canada is seeing an influx of refugees that once found a home in Minnesota. Reuters reports nearly 3,500 have walked into Canada from the U.S. between January through May of this year.

Yahya Samatar swam in to Canada in 2015 to escape deportation by Obama. See his story below.

More here.

A case study—Yahya Samatar

As I researched the above news I came across Samatar’s story.  So his impoverished Somali family “scraped together” $12,000 usd to pay his way across the world (Somalia to Ethiopia to Brazil to Central America to Mexico and illegally across our southern border!), and we are expected to believe they found that much money through legal means in Africa.

Who is paying these illegal aliens? pirate money? An NGO? Someone like Soros?

From Hiiraan Online :

(original story from Winnipeg Free Press)

Samatar hopes he’s at the end of what has been a year-long survival odyssey.

He fled Somalia in August of last year when he became a target because he does aid work with a non-governmental organization and had no one to protect him.

“There’s no functioning government,” Samatar said. “As long as your clan has not a lot of power, you’re at risk.” Militia groups and Al Shabaab are active and night-time attacks are common, he said.

Samatar said he and his family scraped together US$12,000 to pay smugglers to get him to Ethiopia, then Brazil, and help him make his way by land through Central America to the U.S. border at Matamoros, Mexico. “I took buses and walked in the jungle for one month,” he said.

Was the Obama Administration, after a court failed to grant him asylum, letting him go with tacit approval to make a run for the border?

In the U.S., he was apprehended as an illegal alien and spent six months in a detention centre in Texas and another 10 weeks in a centre in Louisiana. After his refugee claim was formally rejected, he was released to await deportation back to Somalia. Desperate to set down roots in some place safe, he headed north. A contact in Minneapolis’s huge Somali community rented a car and drove Samatar and his companion close to the border crossing at Pembina, N.D., he said.

Minnesota Governor calls mosque bombing act of terror

Never mind that no one really knows what it was about yet.

Update August 8th:  Don’t miss Leo Hohmann’s detailed account of the story (so far), here.  And, here, another story about the mosque and questionable activities there.

From AP at Bloomberg:

Minneapolis (AP) — The Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in suburban Minneapolis, like other U.S. mosques, occasionally receives threatening calls and emails. But leaders say they’re more frightened after a weekend attack in which an explosive shattered windows and damaged a room as worshippers prepared for morning prayers.

Gov. Dayton visited the Somali mosque yesterday. The story gives me the opportunity to tell new readers that the gov will be remembered for his 2015 admonition that if you don’t like the new (refugee-infused) Minnesota, get out! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2015/10/16/mn-governor-dayton-dont-like-immigrants-get-out-of-minnesota/

“We feel like it’s much deeper and scarier than like something random,” Mohamed Omar, the center’s executive director, said Sunday. “It’s so scary.”

No one was hurt in the blast, which happened around 5 a.m. Saturday. Windows of the imam’s office were shattered, either by the blast or by an object thrown through them. The FBI is seeking suspects and trying to determine whether the incident was a hate crime.

Not Minnesota? Or, maybe the new Minnesota?

Gov. Mark Dayton, who joined other public officials and community leaders for a meeting inside the building Sunday, described the bombing as “so wretched” and “not Minnesota.”

“This is an act of terrorism. This is against the law in America,” Dayton said at a news conference afterward, the Star Tribune reported .

In a story about the bombing in the Africa Times we are reminded by the reporter that there is a large Oromo population there too.  I wonder why they brought that up?

Minneapolis-St. Paul is home to the greatest concentration of Somali immigrants in the United States. It also has a large Oromo population, among significant communities coming from Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia and Sudan.

As soon as the feds catch the perp, we will let you know.  Or, if you see the news before I do, let me know!

And, that reminds me, the story about the Somali police officer shooting the Australian woman in Minneapolis seems to have completely fallen in to a black hole!

NH: Charges refiled in case of refugee accused of domestic abuse and sexual assault

We told you the outrageous news here where we learned that a Congolese refugee had his charges dismissed because the judge found him culturally incompetent (he abused women, beat his wife, in his native DR Congo so how could we expect him to know better!).

Augustin Bahati will be back in court later this month when they find an interpreter.

The case has been refiled, but delayed when an interpreter didn’t show up in court.

Just a reminder that refugees are entitled to expensive interpreters (often supplied by a refugee contractor***) that you pay for with your tax dollars (costs NEVER reported in glowing studies of how refugees are good for the economy!).

From the Manchester Union Leader (hat tip: Joanne):

MANCHESTER — A court hearing for a Congolese refugee on domestic-related criminal charges refiled by city prosecutors was postponed Thursday because there wasn’t an interpreter available.

Augustin Bahati was there for the status hearing Thursday morning in 9th Circuit Court-District Division and sat in the courtroom for several hours because the interpreter scheduled to translate during the proceedings did not show.

Judge Gregory Michael rescheduled the hearing for Aug. 24 at 8:30 a.m.

The case against Bahati was dismissed in March because he was deemed “culturally incompetent” to understand the American justice system. Acting City Solicitor Emily Gray Rice, who was also in the courtroom waiting for the interpreter, submitted paperwork last month to refile the charges against Bahati.

Here is another story on Bahati where his resettlement agency claims he was given a training program that warned against domestic abuse.

I quickly looked around to see if I could find what language Bahati spoke, but didn’t see it immediately.  Wikipedia  tells us that French is the official national language followed by other obscure languages.  Is your welcoming town ready to supply costly interpreters?

For those of you being told that refugees don’t commit crimes or plan terrorist attacks—see my ten cases, here. This one is small potatoes in comparison to the five horrific crimes I added to the ten terror cases.

***The Federal contractors/middlemen/employment agencies/propagandists/lobbyists/community organizers? paid by you to place refugees in your towns and cities are below.  Under the nine major contractors are hundreds of subcontractors.

The contractors income is largely dependent on taxpayer dollars based on the number of refugees admitted to the US, but they also receive myriad grants to service their “New Americans.”

Increasingly I am hearing that the contractors and subcontractors are running side businesses supplying interpreters thanks to Bill Clinton’s 2000 Executive Order.

The only way for real reform of how the US admits refugees is to remove these contractors/globalist head hunters from the process.

Another violent Somali in Minnesota….

Another knife-wielding Somali arrested  in Minnesota.  I missed this news and so I thought you might have as well.

It occurred to me when reading this latest Somali news from Little Mogadishu at World Net Daily, that besides a possible proclivity toward violence, maybe a lot of these young Somalis are enjoying their drug of choice—khat.

I wonder if the Justice Department is going after khat dealers as they are the heroin dealers?  Does anyone know?

From Leo Hohmann at WND:
Abdinzak Ahmed Farah

Another Somali “refugee” has managed to strike fear into the hearts of Minnesotans by threatening to kill townspeople with a knife.  [Were there calls for more laws restricting knife ownership?—ed]

This time, it was the small town of Faribault, population 23,000 about 50 miles south of Minneapolis, that was terrorized.

Faribault is a direct resettlement site in MN—is there a poultry processor there? A window company? A meatpacker?

Farah was charged with two counts of second-degree assault and threatening violence, all felonies, and fourth-degree damage to property.

Catholic Charities and Lutheran Social Services resettle the majority of Somalis in Minnesota, working as contractors for the U.S. State Department.

Minneapolis is home to the nation’s largest enclave of Somali refugees, with estimates putting their numbers at between 40,000 and 50,000. They control the city’s sixth ward politics and have a member of their community on the city council, with the possibility of a second council seat going to a Somali in this fall’s elections.

Almost all refugees to the United States are hand-selected by the United Nations, which has been picking U.S.-bound refugees since the 1980s.

Continue here because Hohmann has done us a great service by listing many other Somali refugee crime and terror cases.
