As we know, the Obama Administration is aiming to resettle 10,000 Syrians this year. The resettlement contractors, including the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, are pushing for 100,000 (btw, this post on the Bishops and 100,000 took off on social media in the last few days).
From the US State Department’s Refugee Processing Center for October 1-October 15 (hat tip: Diane).

As we previously reported, 97% of the Syrians resettled to the US in FY 2015 are Muslims. Make no mistake, this is not about saving the persecuted Christians or Yazidis.
Related: Have a look at this AP article about Syrians going to Michigan where the Republican governor is welcoming them (and wants many more). It was only posted yesterday and has 2,786 comments already (as of this writing) with the vast majority opposed to what Governor Snyder is doing.

White House petitioner, who wants 65,000 Syrians admitted to US, invited to secret meeting
I told you about this White House petition here, and I know that the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants and possibly the International Rescue Committee (two federal resettlement contractors) were initially involved, or I wouldn’t have mentioned USCRI (their affiliation with the petition must have been removed) in my original post.

However, now we are told that it was one Syrian immigrant guy from Chicago, one stalwart young activist, who single-handedly came up with the idea and succeeded in getting over 100,000 signatures.
Of course all of those open borders activists who signed the petition have been identified by the White House as potential future allies for the Democrat party.
And, as a secondary benefit, the resettlement contractors and others pushing for more (mostly Muslim) Syrians to enter the US get a news hook (and more media pressure for Obama to raise the number of refugees to be admitted).
Here is the Huffington Post reporting on young George Batah:
WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has responded to a petition calling on the U.S. to resettle tens of thousands of Syrian refugees within its borders, inviting the man who started the petition to the White House for a meeting.
George Batah, 23, came from Syria in 2013 and now lives in Chicago. He said he started the petition in late August because he felt the United States has a moral obligation to continue being “the leader in refugee resettlement.” [What is young George’s immigration status? It doesn’t say he is a refugee.—ed]
His petition asked the White House to accept at least 65,000 Syrian refugees by 2016. The administration did not commit to that number in its response Thursday, instead reiterating that it intends to bring at least 10,000.
[….]
Batah told The Huffington Post Thursday that while he was pleased to see the administration’s response, he intends to keep pushing officials to take more refugees.
“Ten thousand by 2016 is very meaningful, because 10,000 people’s lives would be saved,” Batah said. “But at the same time, I feel that a country like the U.S., with its resources, can contribute more in terms of the number.”
[How many readers here are infuriated that young George (here since 2013 with immigration status unknown) “feels” that you can spend more of your hard-earned tax dollars on Syrians running from THEIR civil war?—ed]
Why the secrecy?
After Batah started his petition, administration officials invited him to the White House for a meeting in mid-September. He met with staff members from the National Security Council and other departments, but said he wasn’t allowed to disclose exactly who was there.
“When we met, they clearly cared about the issue and wanted to help address the crisis overall,” Batah said. “I’m not in politics, it’s not my strength, but I felt they genuinely care about it.”
Now young George (“not in politics”) wants to start more petitions to get US mayors to ask for more Syrian refugees for your towns and cities.
Readers, beware of signing any petitions at Change.org!
Batah said he is continuing his activism on the issue, recently working with Change.org to encourage people to start petitions calling on their mayors to welcome more refugees.
Grrrr!
Don’t forget to help ACT pound those 18 mayors who have been demanding Obama admit 100,000 Syrians, here.
After visiting Lesbos, Illinois Senator Dick Durbin calls for 100,000 Syrians to be admitted to US
This is really not surprising news as Durbin has been the leader of the Senate Jihad Caucus for many months (he initially called for 65,000 Syrian mostly Muslim migrants to be admitted to the US last spring), so jumping to 100,000 is no surprise (and they mean to get this done before Obama leaves office).

What is a surprise is that although he sits on the Senate Immigration in the National Interest Subcommittee, he has no idea how the Refugee Admissions Program works—the UN is selecting our Syrians from their camps in the Middle East—we won’t be scooping up any of Europe’s excess migrants. (With the exception of those landing on the island nation of Malta where we have been taking their illegal migrants off their hands since the Bush Administration—a wholly illegal operation btw!).
I wonder what the trip cost the US taxpayers for 4 Senators to travel to Europe. Along with Durbin were Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA).
I mentioned the Senate women yesterday who are willing to jeopardize your security and put more financial costs on your states.
From the St. Louis Post Dispatch:
WASHINGTON • Sen. Dick Durbin, D-Ill., is calling for the United States to take in 100,000 Syrian refugees, ten times the amount the administration of President Barack Obama said last month that the United States would try to accept in the coming year.
Durbin did not put a timetable on his call for 100,000, but said he came to the conclusion that the United States needed to do more to relieve the refugee crisis in Europe after visiting refugee camps in the Greek island of Lesbos over the weekend. He and Sens. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn.; Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass.; and Jeanne Shaheen, D-N.H., made the trip.
[….]
Durbin said the United States had a long history of accepting refugees but had taken in fewer than 2,000 Syrians since the civil war began there in 2011. He said that although the U.S. had been the largest donor of money and material for the refugee crisis, it should do more.
“I can tell from calls to my office there are families and there are churches and temples, synagogues, open to the notion of helping these people being assimilated into America, and that is what we have done in the past, and what we should do again,” Durbin said.
Apparently Durbin doesn’t know that the Obama administration has banned the word “assimilation.”
Again, I know you think it’s a waste of time, but it only takes a minute to call Durbin’s office and tell him (politely) how he is destroying America. Clearly he is getting calls from the friends of federal resettlement contractors. The more refugees they resettle the more money (your money!) they receive as they are paid by the head to resettle refugees. Here is a list of Durbin’s offices.
Although all of the citizens working in ‘pockets of resistance’ do need to focus on your local efforts, if your US Senators are members of the Senate Jihad Caucus, here, you should be letting them know what you think about bringing tens of thousands of Syrians to your towns. Even if you think your Senators are useless, you must let them know this is not a freebie issue for them.
ACT for America launches citizen action campaign urging 18 mayors to re-think their demand for more Syrian refugees
We reported on the letter that 18 US mayors sent to President Obama here in which they told the President that 10,000 mostly Muslim Syrians for fiscal year 2016 (that began October 1) is too few. They want 100,000!
ACT for America is calling on its members and supporters to send letters to the 18. They cite the enormous cost of resettling that many refugees in addition to security concerns confirmed by the Director of the FBI (here) just last week.
Here they are:
Ed Pawlowski, Mayor of Allentown, PA
Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Mayor of Baltimore, MD
Martin J. Walsh, Mayor of Boston, MA
James Diossa, Mayor of Central Falls, RI
Mark Kleinschmidt, Mayor of Chapel Hill, NC

Stop U.S. Mayors from Importing Un-vetted Refugees
|
|
Dear ____, 18 mayors from around the country recently signed an open letter to President Obama, asking for even more refugees than the huge numbers his Administration has called for, and most ridiculously of all, praising the current background check process. If you have seen the news lately, you’re probably aware that almost all refugees are now claiming to be from Syria and are throwing away their ID’s and passports from their country of origin. Ask yourself: How is it possible to do a background check on someone from a war zone? How can you know the person’s true identity? What about people from the regions ISIS controls? Does the State Department call up ISIS and ask if the person is a terrorist? Is the State Department cooperating with Assad’s government to perform background checks? Any claim by the White House or the State Department that thorough screening and background checks are being performed on these refugees is a terrible joke.Unfortunately, it’s one with severe national security ramifications. Further, with today’s rampant unemployment and low wages, why would we introduce even more competition against American workers for the few jobs that are being created? What will happen to American wages when there is even more competition for jobs? What will happen to our schools? Budget cuts and teacher shortages are already hurting schools across the country. Are schools ready to accept thousands of additional students with no extra funding? Most of the students will not speak English. How will our schools afford or ever find qualified teachers in the various languages required to staff entire parallel systems of all the classes currently being offered? This will require massive budget increases that are just not available. The only possible way to fund this is to drastically siphon off resources from current students and lower the quality of their education. There are numerous other infrastructure problems this refugee resettlment scheme will bring related to traffic, power, sanitation, housing, crime, and healthcare. This has clearly not been thought through very well. It is merely a cheap ploy by these mayors to grab votes without regard for the multitude of problems it will inflict upon the citizens of their cities. It’s time to stand up for our communities and hold these elected officials accountable for their foolish actions. Shame on them. We’ve provided an email with talking points for you to send to these mayors. (You only have to do it once and it will go to all of them.) Redlands, CA: Citizens tell mayor—no Syrian or African refugees for us!
One of the most difficult hurdles we have to overcome is the sheer ignorance of local elected officials about how the Refugee Admissions Program of the UN/US State Department operates. Here we have a mayor of a California city saying he has no say about refugees being “sponsored” by a Catholic parish.
Mr. Mayor, they are not “sponsored” by the parish. The local Catholic Charities is PAID by the US State Department to resettle refugees chosen in Washington (by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and the US State Dept) for Redlands. The least you could do is hold a public forum so that you and the community understand exactly what will be expected of you if some of the large number of Syrian Muslims Obama is admitting to the US will be distributed there.
The US Conference of Catholic Bishops is asking Obama for 100,000 Syrians for this fiscal year. They will be looking at every town in America for future placements.

It only makes sense that Catholic Charities (USCCB) around the country are gearing up to expand their resettlement operations and I urge all of you to start paying attention.
Go here and see exactly which cities have Catholic Charities operating on behalf of the federal government. Redlands is near Los Angeles and you will find this branch of Catholic Charities listed in San Bernardino.
If you suspect a resettlement contractor, like Catholic Charities, is ramping-up where you live, let us know!
Pocket of resistance?
From Redlands Daily Facts:
REDLANDS >> Some members of Redlands Townhall and the Redlands Tea Party Patriots have called on city officials to keep Syrian and African refugees from resettling here.
They asked City Council members Tuesday what their plan will be if the city is asked to resettle some of the 85,000 refugees expected to come to the United States in 2016.
“We are researching the issue and preparing to provide information to the City Council in the near future,” said city spokesman Carl Baker in an email.
Citizens asking questions! This is what everyone should be doing right now (even before there is a mention of impoverished third worlders being brought to town).
“Where will they be housed? How will their expenses be paid and by whom? And what will be done to ensure the safety of our community? Our biggest concern is the safety of our family, our children and our grandchildren,” Victoria Hargrave of Redlands Townhall said the council on Tuesday.
“The Obama administration would like to bring in 85,000 Syrian refugees into our country in the calendar year that just started on Oct. 1 and they have admitted that they have no database or source of information with which to vet these refugees,” she said. “There are primarily Sunni Muslims. Al-Qaida are Sunni Muslims whose culture and ideology are completely contrary to our Constitution.”
Intelligence officials and Republican lawmakers have expressed concerns that Islamic State militants could seek to slip into Europe or the U.S. posing as migrants.
[….]
Myhanh Luu, refugee resettlement service director for Catholic Charities San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, which has assisted refugees from all over the world, said they have not yet heard about the Syrian and African refugees needing resettlement in the Inland Empire.
[….]
Mayor Paul Foster said he directed City Manager N. Enrique Martinez to look into the issue. But, he said, it is not the city’s business to tell a parish not to sponsor refugees.
“They certainly would have the right, as they did years ago when we had Laotian and Vietnamese refugees and Cambodian refugees,” Foster said. “Groups all over the country brought refugees in, primarily through faith-based organizations and churches themselves and sponsored them and helped them reestablish their lives in our country. [The mayor is 35 years behind the times! That is not how refugees are distributed today!—ed]
“I certainly don’t see that as being something local municipal governments should be out there opposing or fighting in any way or telling them what they should be doing.”
Citizens need to disabuse this mayor and others like him of this notion—it is most definitely his job to protect his community from economic, cultural and security stress! I’m sure the federal government would be happy to run his town!
