Africans, Arabs “invade” France; ho hum nothing changes

Maybe change is happening, maybe the average Frenchman is fighting back, but I’ve got to say I feel like we’ve been writing this same post year after year here at RRW, and I don’t see where the French are doing anything other than, as this article points out, becoming more morose!

From the Irish Times (French identity crisis indeed!)  The Irish better watch out because this same thing is coming to Ireland in the not too distant future!

French officials discreetly applauded the British prime minister David Cameron’s proposals this week to restrict immigration from poor EU countries.

Immigration is becoming the thorniest issue in French politics and will figure prominently in next year’s municipal and European elections. Socialists and the conservative UMP are toughening their policies, in the hope of blunting the appeal of the anti-immigrant, far-right National Front.

The UMP wants to abolish the right to citizenship for the children of illegal immigrants born in France, and wants to end free medical care for illegals. Interior minister Manuel Valls has promised to re-examine the right to asylum.

Immigration and national identity are often cited as contributing to France’s chronic state of moroseness. But when the former president Nicolas Sarkozy established a “ministry of immigration and national identity,” the implication that immigrants threatened French identity prompted an outcry.

The theme hasn’t died though. Philosopher Alain Finkelkraut’s Unhappy Identity, one of the most talked about books this autumn, claims the French no longer feel at home in their own country. “When the cybercafe is called ‘Bled.com’ [bled is Arab slang for the countryside] and the butcher’s shop and the fast-food are halal,” Finkelkraut writes, “these sedentary [French people] experience exile without having moved. Everything has changed around them.”

At Marine Le Pen’s National Front rallies, crowds chant “On est chez nous!” (We’re at home.) There’s unspoken resentment that Arabs and Africans who drove France from her colonies are now “invading” and adulterating the French way of life, in a sort of reverse colonisation. The French no longer refer to “travailleurs immigrés” but to immigrants, full stop; Muslim immigrants are apparently no longer seen as workers.

The French long believed their secular, republican education system would transform the children of Muslim immigrants into loyal citizens. Ghettoised in the banlieues, rejected by potential employers, Arab and African Muslims are instead re-islamicising, as shown by the widespread presence of headscarves and djellaba robes.

The article continues here.

It has nothing to do with living conditions and employment—Muslims are in France to change (to colonize) France, not to become more secular and more French!

Update: Calais, France, funny and not so funny!

In a hilarious spoof on the worldwide ‘boat people’ crisis, British pensioners row to France in order to become illegal aliens and return to the UK as asylum seekers!

British pensioners row to Calais! Saul Alinsky (Obama’s instructor) once said ridicule is the most powerful political weapon, he was right and it should be used more often!

Here is a bit from the end of a post at SRI Express  (hat tip: pungentpeppers):

It is exceedingly clear that the average Englishman is getting fed up with the absorption of more immigrants to the UK than the country could afford. Of late, Eastern Europeans have started to swamp London towns, as legal migrants under the EU agreements. There is a certain amount of disquiet among the British public when these latest type of migrants grab many jobs, which the British people used to do, by undercutting existing labour charges. These new groups also get preferential treatment in housing, employment, as much as in unemployment and social benefits in the UK which is causing uneasiness!

Illustrating the British general feelings of the treatment and benefits what the refugees enjoy at present, a carefully worded email is doing the rounds at present, which hit my mail box this week. The message trying to convey to the public through a picture of ‘old white pensioners’ in a boat in mid sea depicting the ‘boat people to Australia’ is somewhat hilarious and written in lighter vein, but it portrays the feelings and predicament of the UK pensioners in a rather subtle form.

The email reads as follows: “The Royal Navy intercepted three boatloads of people off the coast of Kent today. This placed the Royal Navy in an awkward position, as the boats were not heading to, but away from Kent towards France”.

“Another surprise finding was that they were loaded with British people who were all seniors of pension age. Their claim was that they were trying to get to Calais so as to be able to return to the UK as illegal immigrants and therefore be entitled to far more benefits than they were receiving as legitimate UK pensioners.”

Now to the more serious news from Calais where the asylum seeker ‘crisis’ we reported here is clearly still unresolved.

The Mayor of Calais wants to put a stop to the “squats” being aided by British Open Borders Leftists.

Fearless Calais Mayor: Squats are a plague!

From the UK Mail (also thanks to pungentpeppers):

Calais is becoming a lawless town with ‘no security’ because of masses of migrants seeking to cross the Channel into Britain, the port’s mayor says.

Natacha Bouchart blamed British activists from the anarchist group No Borders for helping migrants set up illegal squats in unoccupied flats, houses and commercial property in central Calais.

The group, which campaigns for an end to immigration controls, is trying to give  the migrants shelter in France before they attempt their illegal entry into the UK.

Mrs Bouchart, 50, has previously blamed Britain’s asylum and benefits system for ‘imposing’ hundreds of illegal migrants on her city.

She said the number of people trying to make it across the Channel was becoming ‘untenable’ and radical action was needed.

In a move that has caused controversy in France, she made a plea to residents to report squats used by UK-bound illegal immigrants so that they can be shut down.

[….]

She called the dozens of squats ‘a plague which is spreading to the town centre, disturbing the peace of residents and tarnishing the town’s image’.

Another 400 plus migrants rescued trying to reach Europe; Fjordman gives us the larger picture

Here is the news from Oman Daily Observer today.  Those identified in at least a half a dozen boats are Africans and Middle Easterners:

Rome — Italy and Malta were facing a new influx of migrant arrivals yesterday, as over 400 people were rescued from the Strait of Sicily and more boats carrying would-be refugees were spotted in the Mediterranean Sea.

[…..]

Last week European Union leaders pledged “determined action” to prevent more migrant deaths at sea, after two sinkings off Italy and Malta in early October left more than 400 dead.

Two days ago Fjordman (if you don’t follow him you should) has an essay posted at Gates of Vienna (if you don’t follow them you should) about the invasion of Europe entitled:  “The Camp of the Saints and the Golden Dawn.”    If you have not read “The Camp of the Saints” you should!  I continue to be amazed that author, Jean Raspail, saw this all coming 40 years ago!  Fjordman begins with this (emphasis is mine):

The Camp of the Saints is a dystopian novel written by the French author Jean Raspail. Although it was first published as long ago as 1973, the author is still alive today. Now 88 years old, his brain remains remarkably sharp for a man his age.

Raspail has published many books, but the one for which he will be chiefly remembered is ironically his most atypical one. Over forty years ago, The Camp of the Saints predicted a Third World mass invasion of Europe, causing the downfall of Western civilization. This process was compressed in time so that what might take fifty years in real life took fifty days in the book. Also, the main bulk of illegal immigrants in the novel came from India. Today, while immigration to Europe comes from every corner of the planet, much of it comes from the Islamic world and Africa.

Apart from that, the novel was remarkably prescient in describing the dysfunctional mindset of the modern Western world. We have become so wedded to unsustainable humanitarian ideals that we are mentally incapable of defending our own continued national existence. When faced with millions of people coming from the global South, we simply raise a white flag and say that they are welcome to colonize our countries.

Or at least, that’s what our leaders and mass media do. Some of the natives are finally and belatedly starting to get restless about their state-approved ethnic displacement. Is this European awakening coming too late, or does it happen at the very last moment? Only time will tell. Jean Raspail was pessimistic on behalf of his native France in a new interview with him made in 2013.

Read it all!

Now be sure to go to the recent interview the 88-year-old Raspail gave to French magazine Valeurs Actuelles, posted at ‘Islam versus Europe.’  He has much to say about what the Left and multiculturalism have done to France and Western Civilization generally.  Here (below) are just a couple of bits that hit home with me.

Regular readers know we write often about South Africa (the Rainbow Nation!)* as the prime example of a country set up with the idea that Socialism (with something for everyone who wants to come to the country) is somehow the model for the world, but is failing miserably!

Raspail:

All peoples are fascinating but when you mix them too much, it is much more animosity that develops than sympathy. Métissage is never peaceful. It is a dangerous utopia. Look at South Africa!

Raspail:

I don’t believe for an instant that the supporters of immigration are more charitable than me: there probably isn’t a single one of them who intends to welcome one of these unfortunates into his home… all of that’s just an emotional pretence, an irresponsible maelstrom that will engulf us.

There is so much more, read the whole interview.

France caves to pressure, agrees to take 500 Syrians

French President to Guterres: O.K. O.K. we’ll take 500!

No word on whether some of that number will be the Calais occupiers.

From France 24:

France has agreed to take in 500 Syrian refugees at the request of the United Nations following talks in Paris between French President François Hollande and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres, the UN agency said Wednesday.

Even the Socialist Hollande knows what Muslim immigrants have done to France!  Maybe they will insist on Christians only.

With no end to the conflict in sight, the UN agency has urged EU nations to offer asylum to some 10,000 Syrians this year and another 30,000 in 2014.

[…..]

Some 50,000 Syrians have so far applied for asylum in the EU, mostly in Sweden and Germany.

Speaking of Sweden, they are hastening their country’s decline with a record number of asylum seekers—mostly Syrians and Eritreans—tweeted by Fjordman, here.

Calais Syrian stalemate continues as French and Brits trade barbs

It seems a French Member of the European Parliament said she believes that since the Syrians occupying the port of Calais want to go to the UK, they should be let in!   MEP Gerard Batten (Independence Party member) shot back with the truth one rarely hears regarding political asylum and why the Syrians want to be allowed into the UK.  For new readers, our original post is here.

UK Independence party representative Gerard Batten: Don’t offload your problem on us!

From the story at the UK Daily Mail (emphasis mine):

French politicians have been accused of trying to ‘offload’ Syrian refugees on Britain in a growing row over who should give them asylum.

Scores of Syrians have occupied the Calais ferry terminal including a dozen who are on hunger strike and two threatening to kill themselves if they are not given safe passage to Britain.

But a French MEP has come under fire after urging the European Parliament to back their call to be allowed into Britain.

If you have been wondering why the Syrians aren’t satisfied with France, here is the long and short of it:

Unlike Britain, France does not pay benefits to asylum seekers while their claims are being processed. About 40 Syrians have refused to move from a passenger gangway.

Batten to the rescue with several major points!

Mr Batten, the UK Independence Party’s spokesman on security and defence, said later: ‘The suggestion that Syrian refugees in Calais should be sent post-haste to England is absolutely outrageous.

‘These people have made their way across Europe with the intention of landing up in the UK. This is contrary to the UN Convention on Refugees that says they should seek refuge in the first safe country they come to.  [Important point #1 and it is rarely mentioned by anyone!—ed]

‘They want to come to Britain because of our reputation as a soft touch. [Important point #2—ed] They may indeed be refugees, but they are attracted to Britain because of the generous housing, benefits, and social services systems made available to foreigners.

‘If the French have not prevented their entry into France, as they were entitled to do under the Convention [Important point #3, the French let them into France—ed], then the French should offer them asylum, not try to offload the problem onto the UK.’

Germany’s Friedrich and now Britain’s Gerard Batten, could we be seeing the beginning of a trend?
