One of the groups organizing against Trump in Chicago was a "refugee rights" group

The Daily Caller has posted a list of the groups (it wasn’t just Media Matters!) who organized the disruptive and at times violent protest that shut down a Donald Trump rally on Friday evening in Chicago.

One group is the Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights (ICIRR). (Note the Daily Caller reporter has garbled the name.) But below and here is what the DC says of a group we have reported on many times over the years. (See our lengthy archive on ICIRR here.)

I can’t emphasize enough that ICIRR and its companion groups, like the ones in Tennessee and Massachusetts, are not driven by ‘humanitarian’ zeal, but are hard left community agitation groups working to change America by changing the people!

The DC:

This radical leftist group, specializing in immigration, is a more extreme version of the far left version of National Council on La Raza in Illinois.

The group was featured in an article profiling some of the groups intending to protest Trump’s rally in the left-wing website, Progress Illinois on March 8 entitled “New Americans Hit The Polls In Chicago As Immigrant Advocates Gear Up For Anti-Trump Protest.”

“There’s a lot of really hateful rhetoric with respect to immigrants being voiced by candidates out there, “ICIRR’s Senior Policy Counsel Fred Tsao said in that article. “We want to show that immigrants are patriotic, contributing and eager to participate in the political process and to integrate into society.”   [Hey Fred, hint! It doesn’t help your cause to get poor immigrants and refugees out to events like this!—ed]

This group was not only instrumental in creating not only the most radical local immigration ordinance but championed the case which inspired the DREAM Act.

Remember readers that when you make that foolish distinction and say LEGAL immigration is good and illegal is bad, groups like ICIRR are making no such distinction.  It is all the same to them—they want large numbers of immigrants to build a permanent voting majority for their Leftwing wet dreams.  See a list of their ‘partners’ here.

This is a longish article at the Chicago Tribune that anyone concerned with Illinois should have a look at.  Any ‘pockets of resistance’ in Illinois?

But, this whining bit (below) jumped out at me and I want to bring it to your attention.
The article implies that Syrian Muslims are not getting into the US in the refugee stream, but that just isn’t true.  In 2015, 97% of the Syrians arriving in the US through the State Department’s Refugee Admissions Program are Muslims (the vast majority are Sunnis) coming from UN camps.
We know this from the US State Department’s own Refugee Processing Center data base (if you don’t believe me, see for yourself) where the State Department tracks nationality and religion!
Last week we reported, here in that same post, that Illinois had the 4th highest number of Syrians resettled so far.
Here is a snip below from the Chicago Tribune story. Is Frelick ignorant or purposefully being deceptive and why don’t reporters at these big papers try to find out the truth—that we are bringing mostly Muslim Syrians and NOT the Christians.
Incidentally, we wouldn’t have such a difficult time screening Christians, would we?

But Syrian Muslims figure low on the list of asylum-seekers designated as being of “special humanitarian concern” when U.S. politicians consider applicants from among the world’s 60 million refugees because of fears that would-be terrorists from Islamic State, also known as ISIS, occupying much of northeastern Syria, might slip in among those trying to escape the violence, said Bill Frelick, director of the refugee rights program at Human Rights Watch.

And, what the hell does he mean when he says ‘when US politicians consider applicants.’  What politicians?  Does he mean Obama because it is the Administration that actually considers applicants.  Sad to say, Congress doesn’t have much of a role in the final decisions (LOL! assuming Congress would have the guts to stop anything anyway).
They talk big—like Rep Michael McCaul, here, but he really doesn’t have much authority to stop Obama short of legislation that could stall the whole process.
We will be watching to see if there is any action by McCaul or other House leaders responsible for refugees—Reps Goodlatte and Gowdy—in the coming weeks.
The Chicago Tribune goes on to tell us more of what Frelick said:

“If there is even a whiff of a security concern, no consular officer or security officer (from the multitude of U.S. agencies vetting applicants) wants to be the one that has his name on the bottom of a form where someone turns out to have done something horrible,” Frelick said of the asylum-seekers from Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other Muslim countries in conflict. “There is every incentive to say no and very few incentives to say yes. This stigma of terrorism, the fear of a needle in the haystack, tends to hold the whole haystack back.”

That is all fine and dandy, but always remember that history tells us that the Jihadist tendency is more likely to rear its ugly head in the next generation as we have seen innumerable times with the Somalis.  The parents aren’t the Jihadists, it is the youths that we helped raise with our tax dollars who are radicalized in neighborhood mosques who have turned to Islamic terrorism.  It might be 10-15 years before we see the Syrian refugee kids make their move.  Why gamble?  Save the Christians first.

One final funny note (NOT)!  The family which serves as the star of the story (there is always a heartwarming refugee story) has a three-year-old name ‘Osama.’   I think if someone named their kid ‘Hitler’ it would send a message wouldn’t it?  Same goes for Osama!

Update October 11:  Check this story in which the reporter actually refers to the illegal alien children as “refugees.”  They are NOT refugees yet, that is what the No borders agitators want them to be.

It was just a matter of time before the violent crimes got underway and the Office of Refugee Resettlement now has to review security in 139 facilities scattered across America.  Ho hum….

From the Daily Mail (thanks to all of our readers who sent it).  The “vulnerable” children were just seeking asylum from crime in Guatemala.  Remember also that ol’ Rahm Emanuel asked for a thousand of the little darlings!

Two teenage asylum seekers from Guatemala have escaped a detention center in Illinois and carjacked a 91-year-old Navy veteran.

The incident has prompted the federal government to order a security review at all 139 shelters across the country that house illegal immigrant minors, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

The boys, age 16 and 17, were able to walk away unchallenged from Maryville Academy in Des Plaines, Illinois, outside Chicago, on Wednesday morning and carjack two victims before they were arrested more than 225 miles away outside Iowa City, Iowa, according to authorities.

Police say they targeted an elderly man in Moline, Illinois, who was picking up his prescription at Walmart.

They threatened him with violence, forced him out of his car and then sped off with his Buick LeSabre.

More than 60,000 unaccompanied minors from Central America have poured across the US-Mexico border in recent months and claimed asylum, saying they were fleeing the drug cartel violence in their impoverished home countries.

The federal government is spending $868 million this year to house and resettle them.

Here (in July) the Archdiocese of Chicago asked to be given federal bucks to house a bunch of the ‘Unaccompanied alien children’ at Maryville.

Lawrenceville could have been Maryville.

Lawrenceville, Virginia dodged a bullet when citizens protested a similar facility in a local college.  The feds are now being sued for racism because they backed out of the deal.

I should have posted the story earlier, but here it is at Frontpage Magazine:

Last June, community outrage forced the federal government to cancel plans to house hundreds of illegal alien children at a closed college in Lawrenceville, VA. A complaint filed by St. Paul’s College and nonprofit Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) of Virginia with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) alleges the move was racially motivated. Both entities also filed a separate complaint against the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) for canceling the lease, citing another alleged violation of anti-discrimination laws. “No one should block someone’s housing opportunity based on race or national origin,” said Helen O’Beirne Hardiman, fair housing director for HOME. “It’s unfair, and it’s completely illegal for government officials to step in to a private deal and say we don’t want Central American children coming to this community.”

I don’t get how this is a “private” deal when it’s all about federal grants and contracts.

Diversity is strength alert!

This is a follow-up to the story we posted here about Christian Mbemba Ibanda who refused to obey county health officials when they told him he must stay home in order to keep from spreading Tuberculosis to one and all.

‘Pungentpeppers’ has been following the case.

First, he had to be put in jail for disobeying the court order to stay in his apartment. Yesterday, we learned, he was released.

We don’t know Ibanda’s immigration status, but if I were to make a wild guess, I think he may be a refugee possibly from the Congo.   Remember in June of last year Asst. Secretary of State for PRM, Ann Richard, said 50,000 Congolese ‘refugees’ would soon be on their way to America.

‘PP’ noted that according to his facebook page, he speaks French.  If any readers in Illinois know through which (presumably legal) immigration program he entered the US, let us know!

MONTICELLO — A Champaign tuberculosis patient under a court order to stay home is in jail in Piatt County.

Christian Mbemba Ibanda, 24, of 100 Kenwood Road, C, has been under a Champaign County court order since April 11 to remain confined to his apartment to keep from infecting others with his disease, and a petition for indirect criminal contempt of court for failing to follow court orders was filed against him Thursday.

Deputies arrested Ibanda at his apartment Thursday. At a hearing held at the Piatt County Jail Tuesday with his lawyer present, he denied the allegations. A hearing on the petition has been scheduled for May 5 before Champaign County Associate Judge Chase Leonhard.

Ibanda is incarcerated in Piatt County because its jail has a negative pressure room that doesn’t share the air with other people, according to Champaign County Sheriff Dan Walsh. Champaign County is paying $50 a day plus medical costs to keep Ibanda in that jail, he said.

Health officials begged him to stay home and keep the quarantine sign on his door.  He did neither.

Champaign-Urbana Public Health District Administrator Julie Pryde said the court order wasn’t disobeyed just once. Ibanda was being monitored with an electronic ankle bracelet that alerted authorities if he left his home, and he got numerous warnings, she said.

“He was just like running around,” Pryde said. “I went and talked to him and said, ‘Seriously, please stay in your apartment, keep the sign on the door. Take the medicine. This is not that hard, or you risk going to jail. This is a court order.'”

The health district sought the court order initially because Ibanda wouldn’t cooperate with home isolation while he was considered able to infect others, and the order to keep him home was issued without Ibanda present when he didn’t appear for a scheduled hearing.

Update yesterday, no longer testing positive for active TB, he was released, but must take meds for seven more months under the watchful eye of a health worker ($$$).

I continue to be amazed that stories like this one never break out of the local media to make it to the national news.

Update April 12th:  We still don’t know if Mbemba Ibanda (in his 20s) is a recent immigrant/refugee, but get this!  He didn’t show up for court yesterday when the whole courtroom had been fitted with masks.  The judge ordered an ankle bracelet and presumably officers of the court went out and found him and fitted him with his monitoring device.  Reuters story here.

We don’t know yet if Christian Mbemba Ibanda is a refugee (Congolese?) or some other legal immigrant, but may learn more today after a court hearing in Champaign County, IL.

CHAMPAIGN — For the second time in recent years, local health officials are turning to a state judge for help to keep a patient with tuberculosis from potentially spreading it around the community.

In a hearing set for Friday in which everyone in the room will be required to wear protective, tight-fitting masks, the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District will ask Champaign County Associate Judge Chase Leonhard to order home isolation for the patient, Christian Mbemba Ibanda, of 100 Kenwood Road, C.

Public Health Administrator Julie Pryde said she hopes the judge will order Ibanda to wear an electronic monitoring ankle bracelet.

“He couldn’t go out, or it would beep and I’d have the police there,” she said. “Without that, I have nothing I can do about it other than camping outside his door.”

TB, a contagious bacterial disease that typically attacks the lungs, has been on the decline in the U.S.

But there’s still enough of it around to require one full-time public health nurse to tend to patients who have either active or latent TB in Champaign-Urbana, Pryde said.

The hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District at 201 W. Kenyon Road, C. Anyone attending will need to be there earlier for a protective mask fitting, Pryde said.

Proceedings like this are rare in Champaign County, but it’s the second time in her career with the health district that the county has had to bring a petition before the court to try and compel a TB patient to comply with home isolation and treatment, Pryde said.
