Instead of student visas (that have an expiration date) for college age foreigners, they want refugee status for them. And, that means besides a free ride to college they would get “services” to support them (and of course would never be expected to leave!).
Services means social services like housing, medical care, and food all supplied by you, the US taxpayer.
If they got their way, students like Khaled Awad who stabbed a rabbi in Boston last week, would not have to leave the country when a student visa expired, as it did for this creep.

Church group seeks ‘educational pathways’ for refugees to reach America
NEW YORK – A new report from a faith-based organization calls for the federal government to create educational pathways for refugees to resettle in the U.S., as the Biden administration looks to rebuild the nation’s refugee resettlement program.
The report, from international faith-based advocacy organization Church World Service, was published July 1. It focuses on four steps for the Biden Administration, the first of which would be granting refugees admitted into the U.S. to pursue higher education refugee status, which would provide them more robust and longer-term protections than temporary student visas.

In April, however, Biden received backlash after he announced he would not increase the refugee admissions cap from the 15,000. The president then backtracked on that decision a month later and raised the cap to 62,500, with a goal of resettling 125,000 refugees in Fiscal Year 2022.
The Church World Service report notes that rebuilding the refugee resettlement program to that capacity is not an easy task. Therefore, it argues, it will be important for the Biden administration to consider complementary pathways, which “places focus on exploring ways to open educational, employment, family reunification, and other humanitarian pathways to refugees.”
Under an education pathway, the report says that these students “would be selected on the basis of their educational qualifications, in addition to their need for protection and a durable solution.”

President Trump attempted to give some power to state and local governments to determine resettlement in their states. The United States has some of the best universities in the world, [and] they deserve students who can bring new, invigorating perspectives to their classrooms,” Erol Kekic, senior vice president of Church World Service’s Immigration and Refugee Program, said in a statement.
Now get this! These new types of ‘refugee’ would not count in the annual cap—a cap expected to be set in September at 125,000!
That said, the report also argues that the Biden administration should count refugees admitted into the U.S. through an education, or other complementary pathway, separately than those admitted on humanitarian grounds. Instead, the report argues, it should increase admissions.

It suggests that the U.S. government establish a separate target number of refugees to admit in addition to the 125,000 person goal anticipated to be set for the upcoming fiscal year.
“Educational pathways must not compete with humanitarian-based resettlement, and any educational or other complementary pathway should be designed to ensure that this separation is maintained,” the report continues.
Other steps Church World Service suggests the Biden administration take to implement an educational pathway include working with resettlement agencies to make sure student-refugees have the core services in place to excel as new Americans and students.
That last bit means that the contractors (aka resettlement agencies) get paid by taxpayers to help the student refugees (clients!) get their services!

But, you need to know that this isn’t the first and won’t be the last admission that fraud is rampant in the US Refugee Admissions Program.

EXCLUSIVE U.S. suspects 4,000 cases of fraud in Iraqi refugee program -documents
WASHINGTON, June 18 (Reuters) – U.S. authorities pursuing a sweeping fraud investigation suspect some 4,000 Iraqis of filing fraudulent applications for resettlement in the United States as refugees, and they are re-examining cases involving more than 104,000 others, according to State Department reports reviewed by Reuters.
More than 500 Iraqis already admitted as refugees have been implicated in the alleged fraud and could be deported or stripped of their U.S. citizenship, according to one document sent to members of Congress. It said there was “no indication to date that any of these 500+ individuals have ties to terrorism.”
The probe – one of the biggest into refugee program fraud in recent history – is fueling reservations among some in Joe Biden’s administration as they debate whether to create a similar program to assist Afghan refugees as American troops withdraw after 20 years of war, U.S. officials told Reuters.
The reports show the investigation is more far-reaching and serious than U.S. officials have disclosed since announcing in January a 90-day freeze of the Iraqi “Direct Access” refugee program. The suspension, which in April was extended indefinitely by the State Department, followed the unsealing of an indictment accusing three foreign nationals of fraud, records theft and money laundering.
A State Department spokesperson declined to comment on the scope of the investigation and internal government deliberations, but said the fraud scheme did not affect security vetting of refugees.
“The discovery, investigation, and prosecution of individuals involved in the scheme demonstrated the U.S. government’s commitment to ensuring the integrity of the program while upholding our humanitarian tradition,” the spokesperson said. “Those who would seek to take advantage of America’s generosity in welcoming the most vulnerable people will be held accountable.”
The spokesperson did not give a timeline for the investigation, but said the agency would work “as quickly and thoroughly as possible” to complete the review and make any necessary security changes.
Now this next part doesn’t make any sense to me because we are already bringing tens of thousands of Afghans here in the Special Immigrant Visa Program, the same one that the Iraqis used.
Under pressure from lawmakers of both parties and advocacy groups, the Biden administration is considering a similar program for Afghans facing Taliban retribution, according to a State Department official, a congressional aide and a lawmaker.
But there “are a lot of reservations” about expediting the resettlement of Afghans as refugees in the United States, said the State Department official, citing the problems with the Iraqi program.

When President Trump reduced the number of regular refugees being admitted, he did continue the Iraq and Afghan special refugees program and the contractors, we learned, were surviving off their payouts to resettle them.

Mobile man who lied about Iraqi military record avoids prison – but loses something more valuable
Holy cow! He had been in Saddam Hussein’s Army for 20 years! So much for the much ballyhooed “robust vetting” of refugees.
MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – An Iraq native who lied about his military record to get into the United States avoided prison Friday but lost something more valuable – his American citizenship.
Saad Taha Ahmed lived a quiet life in southwest Alabama for nearly a decade as a refugee from war-torn Iraq. U.S. officials granted him refugee status in 2010 and placed him in Mobile.
Ahmed, whose full name is Saad Taha Ahmed Yousif Al-Qaysy, became a legal permanent resident in 2011 and got citizenship in 2015.
Then investigators discovered Ahmed’s secret – he was not a victim of Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein’s military; he was a member of it.
On Friday, Chief U.S. District Judge Kristi DuBose sentenced Ahmed to three years’ probation for the fraud and ordered that his citizenship be revoked.
“It sounds like you did what you did for your family,” the judge said. “But you still violated the law, and you applied for citizenship under false pretenses.”
After the hearing, a U.S. Border Patrol agent took the defendant into custody and indicated he would be put into deportation proceedings.

In his written plea agreement, Ahmed admitted that he concealed the full extent of his military service, telling American officials in his refugee application that he was in the army only from 1987 to 1991 to fulfill compulsory military service.
In fact, according to court documents, he entered the army in 1983 and remained for 20 years until the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003. During those two decades, Ahmed rose to the rank of colonel, the most senior officer position short of general.
Looking around for additional information, I found this Court documentthat says the government initially attempted to seal the case against Saad Taha Ahmed Yousif Al-Qaysy.

As the Trump Administration slows the flow of refugees into the US, the refugee contractors including the mack daddy of the whole bunch—the International Rescue Committee––is now going to provide lawyers for migrants who are scheduled for deportation as a way of expanding its financial base and its influence.
I’ve been telling readers for a long time that the nine refugee contractors working for the US State Department do not just place refugees and supposedly care for them, but are involved in all open borders issues, legal and illegal in the US and around the world. This story is more proof of that!
Deportation defense fund for immigrants is about to launch in the city of Dallas
The International Rescue Committee in Dallas, an agency that’s resettled refugees for decades in North Texas, is expanding its services to immigrants caught up in deportation proceedings.
The IRC will administer $200,000 in grants from the City of Dallas and the Vera Institute of Justice, a New York-based nonprofit, for an attorney and other staffing.
The IRC is now in “turbo mode” due to sweeping changes in national immigration, asylum and refugee policies, said Suzy Cop, the executive director of the Dallas IRC office. “There’s a huge waitlist to get legal representation. It’s great that the city finds this so important.”
The new fund is a first for Dallas and was recommended by an immigration task force advising the city’s Office of Welcoming Communities and Immigrant Affairs.
The Vera Institute has been administering such private-public programs for immigrants since 2013. It began in New York City and spread to such cities as Austin, San Antonio, Sacramento, Santa Ana and Chicago.

Suzy Cop, the executive director of the Dallas IRC office will make it possible for more like Billy Chemirmir to not be deported from Dallas.
For years, the IRC has assisted individuals who obtain permanent residency after one year as a refugee, and then with their U.S. citizenship process. They have assisted refugees with U.S. legal status who petition for family members living abroad. It also runs anti-human trafficking programs.
The local IRC provides mental health services. It also now assists immigrants with Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA. And it runs an economic development program that prepares clients, refugees to immigrants, for jobs.
The IRC has steadily expanded its services beyond refugee resettlement just as the administration of President Donald Trump has scaled back refugee admissions. Refugee admissions were cut to 18,000 last September, down from a ceiling of 110,000 when President Obama left office in January of 2017.
When I called the IRC the “mack daddy” it is because they are the richest of the contractors. I was going to analyze their USA Spending report here, but will do it in a separate post.
