They are pushing back hard in Fargo, ND; commissioners want feds to pay-up for cost of refugees

New ‘welcoming’ towns pay attention!

This article (below) at World Net Daily is a must read for all citizens in the new ‘welcoming’ resettlement sites the federal government is identifying around the United States.

commissioner-dave-piepkorn
Fargo Commissioner Dave Piepkorn: I think it (refugee resettlement) is the issue of the upcoming election; most people don’t know it yet.

We learned recently that there are 47 of them, but the US State Department is so secretive about where it’s sending refugees this year—110,000 of them if Obama has his way—that we only know of a handful (see list below).

Fargo, ND could be a poster city for what happens when a small city becomes swamped and the feds refuse to turn off the spigot.

This week the City Commissioners voted 5-0 to study just how much the program is costing the community with an eye to suing the federal government for what they call an “unfunded mandate.”
Here is Hohmann writing at World Net Daily with a detailed summary of all the controversy on-going in Fargo (Fargo is one of the stops I made this summer on RRW’s roadtrip to troubled towns).  This is a very detailed article and I’ve only snipped a small portion of it below:

The latest flashpoint in the growing backlash against refugee resettlement is Fargo, North Dakota, where the city commission is demanding a full accounting of the program’s costs.

“Surprisingly, that’s never been done before,” said a Fargo city commissioner, Dave Piepkorn, who spoke with WND this week and can be seen discussing his plan in the video above.

Fargo, like many other small cities that have received large numbers of refugees, has been divided by the issue. There have been protests against refugees and counter protests in favor of them, followed by biting blogs and news reports on both sides.

Fargo was thrust into the spotlight on Sept. 18 when it was revealed that the Somali refugee who attacked mall shoppers in St. Cloud, Minnesota, was originally resettled here.

“When we have one Muslim terrorist who tries to kill innocent people in St. Cloud, which is two hours from here, that raised my alarm,” said Piepkorn, who is leading the fight to expose the costs of refugee resettlement on his community.

[….]

Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota moved last year into a new, larger building, a symbol of its success in transforming Fargo into a model of diversity and multiculturalism.

Piepkorn, a former standout offensive lineman for the North Dakota State football team who was drafted by the Cleveland Browns in 1984, hopes to shine a light on the secretive process by which Fargo has been seeded with Third World refugees over the last two decades.

His proposal to direct the city staff to total up the costs of refugee resettlement in Fargo and Cass County was approved 5-0 by the city commission Monday night.

[….]

Fargo’s costs of integrating the refugees have been estimated at $250,000 for last year alone, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg, Piepkorn told WND.

Piepkorn said the U.S. State Department, which oversees the program, gives the city no say over how many refugees get sent to the community and from where. Those decisions are made by the State Department and Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, which gets paid a fee by the government for each refugee it resettles in Fargo.

[….]

He believes that if the influx of refugees from the Third World into Fargo is driven by the federal government then the federal government ought to pay for the costs. He’s calling it an “unfunded mandate,” and he told a local radio host Tuesday that if the feds don’t ante up to help offset the costs, then the city will consider filing a lawsuit.

[….]

I think it is the issue of the upcoming election; most people don’t know it yet.

Continue reading here, the story is a detailed summary of what is coming your way once your town becomes a new resettlement site.  I don’t know what it takes to convince people that those who have been there know what they are talking about!
See all of our earlier posts on Fargo by clicking here.

Is your town one of dozens the US State Department has SECRETLY targeted?

(Broken record alert! I’m posting this on every post going forward!)
I get questions every day from readers wanting to know if there town is on the list (we recently heard that there are 47 of them).  The State Department in Washington has a list, but to my knowledge it is kept secret from the general public until the refugee contractors (the VOLAGS) begin holding small meetings in town (your town) to start to line-up political support often through local ‘interfaith groups’ etc.
The feds are on a hunt for more towns because, as we described with Fargo, existing resettlement sites are troubled and pushing back, plus Obama’s last proposal of 110,000 beginning tomorrow (the first day of the 2017 fiscal year) is huge and they will be desperate to find places to put so many impoverished people.
Everyone should revisit this older post I wrote entitled ‘Ten things your town needs to know’ about refugee resettlement for your community.
Here are the new resettlement cities we have identified so far (go here for a list of established resettlement sites) Remember readers that the Republicans in Congress are letting this happen:

Asheville, NC

Rutland, VT

Reno, NV

Ithaca, NY

Missoula, MT

Aberdeen, SD

Charleston, WV

Fayetteville, AR

Blacksburg, VA

Pittsfield, MA

Northhampton, MA

*Flint, Michigan

*Bloomington, IN

*for new sites identified after original posting

Do you know other towns?  Someone sent me another one the other day and I promptly forgot it!
Although the good-for-nothing Congress quickly passed a Continuing Budget Resolution so they can get out of ‘Dodge’ (DC) and get home for 6 weeks, the funding issue is not dead this year.
They will be back in November to pass the budget for the remainder of FY2017 thus presenting another opportunity for us to CUT THE FUNDING for the massive number Obama has proposed.
Never forget!  Right now the Republicans in Congress hold all the cards because they control the purse.  If we get 110,000 or more (yes Hillary can even increase the number if she gets into the White House, she can say her 65,000 Syrian Muslims need to be airlifted here immediately), the blame will fall on the REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP who could cut off her money!

Slow the flow of impoverished refugees to Fargo, ND say county commissioners

Here we go again, yet another story of a city overloaded (housing shortages, social services strained), but the main reason I’m posting this is to point out their (DOS and its contractors) little trick about bringing the family over later.

lss-north-dakota
They can’t cut back in North Dakota because LSS has a big brand spanking new building to pay for. (I checked it out on my travels through the Dakotas this summer)

With all those new seed communities being developed now: Rutland, VT, Missoula, MT, Charleston, WV, Northhampton, MA, etc. we will ultimately hear the same story. You see they get an ethnic ‘community’ established and then the contractors give you the sob story about how they must reunite families.  If you squawk at that point you are a mean and hateful person.
This is how seeding/colonizing works! They put so-called “free cases” in Bismark, but next year they will bring the relatives of that first group!
From the Grand Forks Herald:

FARGO — By a wide margin, the Fargo area takes in more refugees than any other place in North Dakota.

Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead, Minn., have received a total of 6,220 refugees since 1997 — over three times the number who arrived in Grand Forks and Bismarck combined, according to Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota (LSS), the nonprofit group hired by the federal government to resettle refugees in North Dakota and Moorhead.

Cass County Commissioner Chad Peterson brought up this discrepancy at a meeting of refugee resettlement officials on Thursday, Sept. 8. He told the group he’d like to see refugees spread more proportionately across the state, given that Cass County’s social service system doesn’t have enough money to meet their needs.

“Right now, our social services is overburdened to the nth degree,” he said. “There is a substantive burden spent when we have folks in this quantity coming in that make the lower salaries.”

shirley-dykshoorn2
Dykshoorn

Shirley Dykshoorn, who oversees refugee resettlement for LSS, said one reason so many refugees land in the Fargo area is the availability of housing and support services, as well as job and education opportunities.

Another factor is that the Fargo area has the state’s biggest ethnic community, and a large amount of LSS resettlement work involves reuniting incoming refugees with relatives already living here. “Family ties help remove or reduce isolation, and support the families,” Dykshoorn said, noting that refugees without ties are mostly being sent to Bismarck.

[….]

Scherling (county commissioner) agreed that western North Dakota could offer opportunities for refugees. Though, she acknowledged that finding affordable housing there is difficult and added that the same issue exists in Cass County. “Affordable housing is tough everywhere,” she said.

So what else is new! A shortage of housing isn’t stopping them in Missoula, MT or Buffalo, NY either.
By the way, the parent organization of LSS North Dakota is 95% federally funded.

First Syrian family arrives in North Dakota

Last fall Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota which (has a brand new shiny building) and runs the refugee program in the state said no Syrians were slated for North Dakota, but now oopsy, here is a seed family.
From Valley News Live:

North Dakota has not had a Syrian family in the community, at least not until a few days ago.

jessica-thomason
Jessica Thomason and the US State Department are deciding the demographic and economic future of North Dakota.

Last November, Jessica Thomasson CEO of Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota said in a statement “LSSND has stated to these agencies, including the State Department, that it does not feel Syrian resettlement to North Dakota makes sense due to the lack of an established Syrian presence in our communities and due to its focus of resettling families wanting to reunite with family already living in North Dakota.”

Thomasson told me that LSSND resettled a Kurdish family just a few days ago who are from Syria and Iraq.

[….]

She stated LSS does not select who moves to the state, that decision is made by the federal government.

The short article reports on criticism from US Senator John Hoeven and Congressman Keven Cramer.
Every one of  you concerned in the state of North Dakota must pressure those two to help lead an effort to cut the funding for refugee resettlement this fall.  They can mouth their complaints here in their home state news, but will they work to turn off the spigot of federal funding?  That is where the rubber meets the road!
And, one final thought.  Do you see how this works, they get refugees spread out in cities and towns, large and small, then they bring in the relatives so it makes it all harder to stop. (How can you be so hateful to break up families and friends.)
See our North Dakota archive here.

All politics is local: Get rid of mayors like these!

Tomorrow I’ll have been on the road for two weeks and I’ve made stops in 7 states and put 2,000 miles on my car. There is a very clear pattern developing and I’m going to take each piece one at a time. Frankly, I’m not telling you anything you don’t already know with my revelations from the road!

FILE PHOTO: Mayor Mike Brown gives the State of the City Address to a full audience on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at the Alerus Center. (Logan Werlinger/Grand Forks Herald)
Mike Brown has been mayor of Grand Forks since the year 2,000 so he is responsible for the refugee flow to that city. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Brown_(mayor)  (Logan Werlinger/Grand Forks Herald)

If you are troubled by the secrecy you see with the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program as it disrupts the social and economic stability of your communities, look first at your local elected officials.
Yesterday, I mentioned the controversy on-going in Rutland, VT with a mayor who invited a federal resettlement contractor to bring in 100 Syrian Muslims a few short months from now.
Concerned citizens there have stirred the political pot as they should and the issue has now bled over to the governor’s race (here).
And, don’t miss Leo Hohmann’s WND article yesterday about how the elected officials of Bloomington, MN have betrayed their people.

Before I go any further watch this interview with Mayor Mike Brown of Grand Forks, North Dakota last week.  With mayors like these who needs enemies!

Valley News Live Fargo, ND reports:  Click here to watch.  And as you watch this mayor fumble questions about what data supports his contention that refugees have benefited Grand Forks, consider that this man is a medical doctor and thus should be smart enough to understand the importance of economic data to make his point.  The problem is that no one, until now, has probably ever demanded he go beyond talking points.
It appears that Brown, who has no data to support his glowing assessment that refugees have brought economic prosperity to Grand Forks, is actually reading from some fluffy puffy statement that must have come down from on high at “Welcoming America” or one of its many local clone organizations.

You must work to change your LOCAL elected officials!

That is my message for today.  I’m seeing the same clear message everywhere I go—local elected officials either because there is money to be made from industries needing cheap labor, or simply because they have bought the whole progressive (multiculturalism is beautiful) agenda—must be defeated at the polls!
To do that you must (besides finding some good candidates—a tall order I know), investigate the ones you have. Dig deep into public records and expose their connections/donors and deals.  And, to do that effectively you must have a means of communicating what you have found to your community.  Friendly media for us is very rare since most small town newspapers have sold out to the progressive agenda, so if you can’t get local media, you will have to create your own media!
I see it over and over, great research going on with our folks locally, but the work sits on computers or in stacks of documents that never leave a small circle of hardcore patriotic activists.
Create your own media by creating localized/statewide websites (I like that Watchdog.org working in Vermont!), start a radio show of your own, and report hard research information, don’t just talk about liberty and the Constitution, although important subjects for sure, but expose local crony capitalists running (ruining!) your towns with serious investigative work!

It is all about a ready supply of cheap labor!

One important thing I’ve confirmed in my heartland tour of America so far is something I knew, but had never seen the evidence so clearly.
Forget the idea that resettling refugees from the third world to your Midwestern towns is driven by compassion for the poor and downtrodden.  It is driven by greed and MONEY as big companies reap the rewards of a steady supply of cheap (some say slave) labor, aided and abetted by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service and the other phony ‘religious’ charities hired by the US State Department (for a billion bucks!) to drop off the ‘New American’ laborers!
It is a brilliant business plan. Big industries, like BIG MEAT, want the cheap labor and you (taxpayers) supplement the low salaries with welfare payments of all sorts.
Then if you say a word about how your community is socially, culturally and economically disturbed, you are called a racist, a hater, a xenophobe and so on.
In many cases your elected officials (and the local Chambers of Commerce) are in on it (are elected officials getting campaign donations?), and to top it off the parasites, like Welcoming America, receive federal grants (your money) to propagandize your towns.
Why do I call Welcoming America***parasites?  Because they have another agenda and are just feeding off the cheap labor business model of large multinational corporations.  They are looking for more Leftwing (progressive) voters to lock up the political system for their socialist goals.

You, the average American, who liked your town just as it was and who wants jobs for your own kids and grandkids, are vilified and attacked.

Volunteers helping to resettle the refugees are just being used by the phony church groups and those greedy businesses.
Someone gave me this poster being distributed in North Dakota recently.
The US Department of Labor (led by the despicable Tom Perez, thank God Hillary passed him up for VEEP) is giving grants to teach “New Americans” job skills so they can take your jobs and your kids’ jobs! (And, you pay for it!)

This is a poster “For New Americans” (red banner line):

post for New Americans

You can’t read it all, but the last line says: “This workforce solution was funded in part by a grant awarded by the US Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration. A member of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities System.”

Do you see now why they hate Donald Trump so much when he talks about slowing the flow of immigration to America!
