Georgia mosque plan: Commissioner asks will it bring refugees here?

Yes, it most likely could, mosques are part of the hijra (the migration), however a resettlement contractor spokeswoman quickly said, NO. She doesn’t believe refugees can be successful in this county.
Hmmm! Wonder where all the new Muslims (enough for a big new mosque and cemetery) are coming from then?
Here is the news from AP at Fox News (is Fox calling CAIR a civil rights group in its headline?):

ATLANTA – A proposal to build a mosque and Muslim cemetery has so angered some residents of Newton County outside Atlanta that their commissioners have temporarily banned all building permit approvals for religious institutions.

The moratorium prompted the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the NAACP to request a federal civil rights investigation in Newton County. A spokesman for U.S. Attorney John Horn confirmed receipt of this complaint Tuesday, but declined comment.

Mohammad Islam, the religious leader behind the proposal, said he doesn’t intend to take any legal action; instead, he met Tuesday with local leaders of other faiths in Newton County, seeking their support for a fresh start.

One commissioner questioned whether the project would make Newton County “a prime area for the federal government to resettle refugees from the Middle East” in an interview with The Rockdale Citizen, a local newspaper. Two public meetings were held, both crowded with angry opponents who clapped and cheered when people expressed fears about global terrorism.

But places like Newton County need not fear becoming magnets for refugees, said Amy Crownover, spokeswoman for New American Pathways. The organization is one of five refugee resettlement organizations in Georgia that are contracted with the federal government to assist refugees arriving in the United States.

“We work in partnership with communities, looking for communities where refugees can be successful,” which requires easy access to public transportation, jobs, English classes and other services. Newton County “isn’t an ideal setting,” Crownover said.

I’m wondering if she is implying the folks there are unwelcoming? But, of course, we know that hasn’t stopped the contractors in other locales.

NC Rep confirms it: The buck stops with him and others in Congress

I’m not sure that Rep. Mark Meadows’ goal in holding the town hall in the Ashville area last night was to direct his constituents right back to him and other members of Congress when it comes to stopping, slowing, or putting on steroids the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program, but that is what he did with these comments.

Rep. Mark Meadows answers questions about refugee program in his district. Will he be one of the leaders to remove funding for refugee resettlement in funding battles this fall?

The President, Obama, can make determinations all he wants about how many refugees the US tax payer will pay for next year, but it is Congress that supplies the cold hard cash for the federal agencies (both the US State Department and the Dept. of Health and Human Services).
Bringing in large numbers of refugees obviously requires more money!

So, the question this fall will be this: Will Speaker Paul Ryan and the Republicans fully fund the Obama invasion or not? It is that simple!

Here is the news about the town hall meeting. The article doesn’t say it, but it sounds like most of those present OPPOSE more refugees for the US (and none for their community!).

FLAT ROCK, N.C. — Congressman Mark Meadows held a town hall Tuesday night to discuss efforts to resettle Syrian refugees in our area.

International Rescue Committee, a resettlement agency, said it is still looking at Asheville. Meadows said Saint James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville is backing off the idea, in part, because of the community reaction.

One man said the money was better spent on Americans. [A sentiment we hear everywhere.—ed]

“I just feel that we have enough people now that we have to take care of,” Tom Mcrary Jr., from Brevard, said.

Meadows explained the money for refugees comes from the U.S. State Department. Once the money is budgeted to the State Department, it cannot be moved to another department.

Well, Rep. Meadows don’t give it to the State Department this fall! The State Department doesn’t grow it on trees, you appropriate it to them!

Meadows informed the crowd refugee resettlement is a federal program, and state legislators cannot prevent refugees from coming.

But, you can Mr. Meadows! Will you?

This is a lesson for every town contemplating becoming a “welcoming” refugee resettlement site.

Are you listening Rutland, VT, Aberdeen, SD, Reno, NV, Missoula, MT, Charleston, WV and Fayetteville, Arkansas?
This news comes to us from “welcoming” Lancaster, PA (btw, it is in Lancaster that I first heard citizens, who asked questions about refugee impact, described as being in “pockets of resistance!”)

“Enriching us all” or is it bankrupting us all?

Apparently the Lancaster school system sought to deal with older, non-English speaking, refugees by placing them in an alternative school system, but lawyers for the ACLU and others will have none of it. So now the school district there will be in court all week defending their decision at taxpayer expense.
And, so much for your American kids getting a good education!

As many as 700 refugees are resettled each year in Lancaster, a high number for the city’s population. [This will happen to your town! Once they get a foothold the original 50 or 100 become 200, 500, 700 in one year!—ed]

Four of them are spending today in court, where they’ll testify in a lawsuit against the School District of Lancaster.

The suit alleges the district’s breaking the law by refusing to admit older teen refugees or automatically diverting them to an accelerated credit program. There, the case claims, they get an education inferior to what’s available at the local public high school (particularly when it comes to English language instruction.)

But attorney Sharon O’Donnell, who’s representing the school, says “the bottom line is whether the court can tell the [Lancaster] school board where to place students.”

Pennsylvania school code says residents between 6 and 21 years old are entitled to a free public education. At least one international treaty, the U.N.’s 1951 Refugee Convention, requires refugees to get the same public education as residents of countries where they’re resettled. [So we are being told that a UN treaty could govern our local school board decisions!—ed]

The lawsuit also alleges civil rights and federal Equal Educational Opportunities Act violations by the school, which O’Donnell refuted in recent court filings.

The lawsuit in Pennsylvania is similar to others filed in Florida and settled in New York this spring, and comes as refugee resettlement is expected to continue to rise.

The lawsuit’s being brought by a total of six student refugees, represented by a team of lawyers. Aside from Rothschild, they’re from the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania and the Philadelphia-based Education Law Center.

This is all the more reason to tell your Congressmen and Senators NO! when Obama wants more tax dollars next month.

A letter to the citizens of Radford, Virginia (a new targeted resettlement site)

I’m not going to snip this must-read article published by Jeff Bayard at the Virginia Free Citizen today because I want you to go there and read the whole thing! Bayard has nailed it—this is exactly what you can expect if your town is secretly chosen.

Radford, Virginia is apparently joining other towns that the UN/US State Department and their contractors have quietly targeted as new ‘welcoming’ (Ha!) resettlement locations.
The feds and the contractors and sub-contractors (like Catholic Charities) are anticipating increased numbers of refugees to be coming in to the country and they are running out of places to put them as existing resettlement towns (approximately 200 of them!) are becoming overloaded and community discord has set in.
We have reported on plans for new sites in Missoula, MT, Charleston, WV, Reno, NV, Ithaca, NY, Rutland, VT, and Fayetteville, AR, so far, just in the last few months.
Now here is a letter “to the citizens of Radford, VA” This is it in a nutshell! The grassroots in Virginia have been studying how this program works for some time now and this essential article shows it!

'Pockets of Resistance' coined by feds to brand us!

You’ve been seeing the phrase in news reports….
So where did it come from?
‘Pockets of resistance’ is what the federal bureaucracy initially called us! We liked the description so much that we have made it our own!
I just did a quickie look around for the idiom ‘pockets of resistance’ and see that it usually is a reference to a small group of people resisting domination. Hmmm! When I first heard it to describe us—anyone questioning the UN/US government’s colonization of our communities with third world refugees—I thought of the famous, tough and brave French resistance to Hitler’s domination of France.

I first heard the phrase uttered (in derogatory tones) by an employee of the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement three years ago (June 2013) in Lancaster, PA, and was amazed that federal bureaucrats and their refugee contractors had actually taken time to ‘brand’ us.
They mentioned three states where ‘pockets of resistance’ had formed—Georgia, New Hampshire (because of Gatsas) and Tennessee.
Now there are many many more in a national network of ‘pockets of resistance!’
Up until a reader from Tennessee directed me to a 2012 news story posted at the UNITED NATIONS, I assumed the phrase originated in the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement (in HHS), but check this out: The UNHCR, when reporting on a US State Department trip to mollify Tennesseans, references the phrase!

The U.S. State Department’s head of refugees met with local officials Thursday. His visit is partially in response to pockets of resistance to resettlement in Tennessee.

So, it appears that the inner circles at both the US State Department and at the Dept. of Health and Human Services were both using ‘pockets of resistance’ when discussing American citizens’ concerns about the program. Amazing!
