First Syrians arrive in North Texas

If you haven’t already, you will be seeing more warm and fuzzy stories like this one in your states as the Syrian refugees begin to arrive.  We have taken in 682 so far.  See my post of last Saturday and see which states they went to.

As the FBI says they cannot properly screen Syrians, the US State Department seems to be still telling the media that 10,000 will be here soon.

The contractors want 65,000 by the end of 2016!

From WFAA (Dallas) which implies only a handful have arrived in Texas, however, Texas has received at least 86 so far and as the top resettlement state in the nation, it will receive the most Syrians.

Doing well by doing good! Heather Reynolds is CEO of Catholic Charities Ft. Worth and is one of the leaders resettling Middle Easterners to Dallas/Ft. Worth. In her mid-30’s, Ms. Reynolds pulls down a cool $199,324 in salary and related income. In a recent form 990 we learned that this Catholic Charities office took in almost $17 million in revenue and $9 million came from you through government grants. http://www.guidestar.org/FinDocuments/2013/750/808/2013-750808769-0ae83cfc-9.pdf

No surprise that the refugee industry puts its most appealing refugees (like these cute girls) out for PR campaigns.  The mainstream media eats it up!

Eight Syrian refugee families call North Texas home right now — four in Dallas and four in Fort Worth. But Basatneh [Syrian American Council] said more are on their way after the U.S. State Department agreed to accept as many as 10,000.

Watch the clip where we are told that “it is our duty” to take them in and that 1,000 will be coming to Texas within the year?  Say what!

We are told the flow will be on par with the Iraqi flow which stands at 20,000 per year right now.

And, note the lovely apartment the family has received, I bet there are some needy Americans in Dallas/Ft. Worth who would love a place like that!

So who is doing the seeding of refugees in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area?

Four of the nine major contractors have divided up what must be a large flow to Ft. Worth:

How many refugees did your state “welcome” in FY2014? Where were they from?

Sorry readers, after being away from the computer these last three days, I am woefully behind—lots of stories have passed me by.  Going to try to catch up!

If this looks familiar it is! But, we have so many new readers it bears repeating.

Just before I left, reader P.K. sent me this link for data at the federal Office of Refugee Resettlement that I hadn’t seen in such a handy fashion.  We did previously give a year-end wrap-up last October here where the numbers were slightly different, but close.

We are repeating this news for the many new readers who have joined us since then.

By the way, although we resettled 69,986 refugees in FY2014, that is not the complete story.  The Office of Refugee Resettlement was responsible for over 30,000 asylees and another 58,000 ‘unaccompanied alien children’ being treated as refugees as well  (and, cared for with your tax dollars!)

Top resettlement states for FY 2014 are as follows:

Texas (7,214) Turning red states blue? Someone needs to tell Ted!

California (6,108)

New York (4,082)

Michigan (4,006)

Florida (3,519)

Arizona (2,964)

Ohio (2,815)

Pennsylvania (2,739)

Georgia (2,694)

Illinois (2,578)

Also three other states topped 2,000:  Washington (2,483), North Carolina (2,443) and Minnesota (2,232).

Be sure to visit the Office of Refugee Resettlement here to see where in the world your refugees came from.

What is a fiscal year?  For the purposes of refugee resettlement, a fiscal year runs from October 1 of the previous year to September 30th of the present year.  So, that means we have now completed 5 months of fiscal year 2015.

Newly resettled Iraqi refugee shot and killed in Dallas; was it a random killing by thugs, or something more?

We will have to wait and see how the investigation unfolds, but my guess is that it will be a random shooting in a mixed neighborhood (the kind of neighborhood the federal refugee contractors always choose because of the cheap housing).  Or, do refugee contractors just think they can mix up all the different ethnic groups they bring in, drop them in low-income and minority neighborhoods and presto! multicultural nirvana will be found?

Ahmed al-Jumaili, 36, shot in apartment complex parking lot last Wednesday.

From the New York Daily News:

An Iraqi refugee who moved to Texas be in a “safer place” with his wife three weeks ago was fatally shot while watching his first snowfall Wednesday.

Ahmed al-Jumaili, 36, his wife and his brother were taking pictures of the snow outside their Dallas apartment complex when a group of men shot him at about 11:40 p.m., police said.

Al-Jumaili ran back to his apartment and later died at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, according to the Dallas Morning News. His relatives were not injured.

“Just like all of us, a pretty snowfall brings the child out in us,” Dallas police Maj. Jeff Cotner said. “You can just imagine the excitement between his wife and his brother and himself as they were enjoying the snowfall.”

Al-Jumaili and his wife, Zahara, married 16 months ago in Iraq, according to a fundraising page. She “made the painful and difficult decision to leave her husband in Iraq and come to, what she believed, to be a safer place.”

They reunited in Dallas 20 days ago after Al-Jumaili earned enough money to join her.

[….]

The surrounding Muslim community is demanding to know whether the shooting was a hate crime, Salem, the executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in the Dallas and Fort Worth area, told CNN.

Readers, send us a link if you see more news on who did it.

For reporters who might be interested in tracking down more on Al-Jumaili and the Iraqis being placed apparently in bad neighborhoods, go to this Handy State Department list of contractors.  Looks like 4 of the 9 major contractors have subcontractors that are falling all over each other to plant refugee seedlings in “welcoming” Dallas:  Church World Service, International Rescue Committee, Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services, and the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.

By the way, if you didn’t know, Texas is the top refugee resettlement state in the nation.   Over 100,000 Iraqis, most of them Muslims, have been admitted to the US since the beginning of the Obama Administration.

Another Somali refugee sentenced for terror connections; lied on refugee application

This is getting to be old news.  The only thing new is the location!

This time it is Texas—the state which is now receiving the largest number of refugees in America.

Earlier today we told you about Bosnian refugees busted for supporting ISIS.  In this case the Somali we gave a home to (food, education, healthcare etc.) was helping Al-Shabaab.

So much for that thorough security screening we keep hearing about!

From Jim Kouri at The Examiner (emphasis is mine):

On the same day that President Barack Obama decided to take a swipe at Christians and continues to use euphemisms to describe Muslim terrorists, a Somali national living in San Antonio, Texas, was sentenced on Thursday to 15 years in federal prison for his conspiring to provide material support to the radical Islamic group Al Shabaab. The Somalia-based Islamist group is designated by both the U.S. State and Treasury Departments as a foreign terrorist organization. The defendant, Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, was also convicted for lying in order to get refugee status to enter the U.S., according to Justice Department officials.

Ibrahim, a citizen of Somalia, had been charged and pleaded guilty to both criminal offenses on July 31, 2014. The 43-year-old Ibrahim confessed that for about four-years beginning in May 18, 2010, he conspired with other supporters of Muslim terrorism to provide material support to Al Shabaab. Somalia’s Al Shabaab is affiliated with what’s known as “core” al-Qaida.

“This Somali, like many others living in the United States, lied to get into the country, lied to get refugee status and lied about his loyalties. One can only estimate how many more ‘Ibrahims’ are out and about in our country,” said former police counterterrorism unit member Pauline Soulters. “And yet we have a Commander in Chief who wants to talk about the 11th and 12th Century Catholic Church rather than the 21st Century Muslim jihad,” she added. Soulters was referring to comments made by President Barack Obama during a prayer breakfast in which he gave a lecture about the evils committed by Christians during the Crusades.”

Somalis colonizing Nacogdoches County, TX; internationally-owned Pilgram’s Pride meat packer drawing them there

Meat packers (chicken processors in this case) are changing small town America by working closely with the US State Department and its refugee resettlement contractors.***

While internationally-owned companies (75% Brazilian-owned in this case) get the cheap captive laborers in the refugee stream to America, American taxpayers get to take care of those workers every other need—education for the children, subsidized housing, health care and the list goes on.  Great business model—right!

Meanwhile the colonization of small towns continues….

The State Department and its refugee contractors appear to be busy at work demographically changing Rep. Louie Gohmert’s district just as they changed the St. Cloud, MN, heart of former Rep. Michele Bachmann’s district with the resettlement of Somalis.

From WAVE3.News (hat tip: Pungentpeppers):

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, TX (KTRE) – Nacogdoches, Center, and Lufkin are home to about 150 Somalis refugees.  [May seem like a small number, but it won’t be in another five years—ed]

Some have lived here for over five years, learned English, and even obtained their US citizenships.

Others are struggling to learn American ways.

Somalis are seen in and around Nacogdoches. The women are recognized by their brightly colored native dresses. A distinct accent is heard from the men.

They’re here to learn American ways.  [While working for Pilgram’s Pride!—ed]

Abdirahman Guled wants East Texans to learn his people’s ways.

That last line is the real truth!

Then this!  They are turning red states blue!

According to the Federal Office of Refugee Resettlement, more international refugees were living in Texas in 2012 than in any other state.

Concerned Texans might like to have a look at the large number of resettlement contractors working in your state.  Go to this handy list (p.32-34 lists all the contractors in Texas).

More Somalis on the way to America!

The numbers are in at the Refugee Processing Center for the first 4 months of Fiscal Year 2015 and the Somali numbers are huge—3,536 new Somali refugees have entered the US in the last 4 months!  That means this will be a banner year for Somalis with likely well over 10,000 to be admitted by September 30th, 2015.
