Is yours about to be a refugee 'welcoming' community? Call the mayor of Amarillo, TX first!

You know that overused definition of ‘insanity’ which says that when one does something over and over again and expects a different outcome, that is insane.  Well, that applies to the resettlement of refugees.
Please pay attention to the cities that have been overloaded with refugees for years—even decades—and they can’t get the flow slowed.  This will happen to your town!

harpole
Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole should get an award for heroism!

If you open your town or city to the arrival of a resettlement contractor (Missoula pay attention!), you will not be choosing who comes and how many.  Local taxpayers will bear the greatest burden especially in the school system. You will never be able to get the contractor to slow the flow of relatives they bring next.  And, if you complain, you will be vilified!
We have dozens and dozens of posts about cities where mayors have begged for a slowdown or better still a moratorium on the resettlement of refugees because they can no longer cope—usually it is the school system that begins to crash first—and get no significant relief from the US State Department and its money-hungry resettlement contractors.
Search RRW for Manchester, NH, Lynn and Springfield, Mass, or Amarillo, TX to see what I mean.
Here is the latest from Amarillo (a ‘pocket of resistance!’) where the mayor is taking his battle to a new level.  From Amarillo Globe-News:

Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole took his decades-long knowledge about the city’s refugees — their progress and challenges — to state lawmakers last week and he plans to continue the discussion locally today.

Harpole testified last Thursday in Austin at a hearing on refugee resettlement programs before the State Senate Committee on Health and Human Services to address resettlement rates, language barriers in schools and an alleged lack of foresight from Washington.

He addressed what he called disparities between the resettlement rate in Amarillo and the rates of cities in Texas and elsewhere. He also repeated a claim he’s made several times.

“The City of Amarillo gets more refugees per 100,000 population than any city in the world,” Harpole testified before the committee.

Lack of required ‘consultations’ just more proof that this program has been operating in SECRECY for years.

And, since Congress has never policed the program, administrations (both Democrat and Republican) have gotten away with operating in secrecy for 35 plus years!

Another complaint Harpole took to Austin was Washington’s alleged lack of foresight on a national level.

“What the Senators are talking about is why the federal government gives the state no control over this and no insight,” Harpole said. “And now the [US] State Department says we should have been having community consultation meetings and coordinating meetings every three months, and it’s been in place for years.”

Texas legislature holds refugee hearing: state taxpayers on the hook for millions

As we have been reporting, all across America state legislative bodies are starting to ask questions about how the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program works and who is paying for it all.
Over, and over again, in states like Wyoming (which does not have a program and never has had one), advocates for third world resettlement yammer about how this is all paid for by the feds (from the federal government’s money tree!) and it won’t cost the state or local taxpayer a dime.
You know from reading RRW that that is a bunch of bull, but here again we are given some facts about who is paying.
From the Austin American Statesman:

Citing fears that refugees, particularly those arriving from Syria, could pose a terrorist threat, several Republican state senators pressed Thursday for additional background checks and tighter oversight on agencies that resettle refugees in Texas.

Aaron-Rippenkroeger
See what refugee contractor, Aaron Rippenkroeger, had to say about “welcoming” Syrian and other Muslim refugees to Texas, here last fall: http://www.mystatesman.com/news/news/opinion/rippenkroeger-texas-should-welcome-syrian-refugees/nncMw/

“Right now, there’s a civil war in Syria, and there are terrorists in Syria, and there have actually been various serious attacks in Europe,” state Sen. Charles Schwertner, R-Georgetown, said during a Capitol hearing before the Committee on Health and Human Services.

Echoed by other Republicans, including Sen. Donna Campbell of New Braunfels, Schwertner said he wasn’t confident that the federal government is conducting complete background checks into potential refugees, and he suggested that state health agencies take more control over private resettlement organizations to ensure that new Texans are thoroughly investigated.

“We should have a refugee program, but my concern is for the safety of the citizens of Texas. That is my motivation,” said Schwertner, the committee chairman. “This population needs be thoroughly vetted.”

[….]

Aaron Rippenkroeger, chief executive of Refugee Services of Texas, told the committee that refugees receive thorough background checks before they’re resettled, adding that his organization has never had to report a security risk to the federal government. [Refugee Services of Texas is a subcontractor of three of nine federal contractors.—ed]

[….]

Texas health agencies received $66 million from the federal government in 2015 for refugee-related services, with the state spending an additional $56 million, mostly on Medicaid-paid services.

[….]

Local communities also bear some of the costs of settling refugees, including creating educational services for children and providing translation during 911 calls, Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole said.

Last year I visited Dallas and in advance prepared a three-part series on the refugee program in the state.  Texas is still the #1 state in the nation for resettlement of refugees and you can draw a straight line right back to previous governors who never lifted a finger to question the efforts of the open-borders movement to turn Texas blue through mass migration of all kinds.

Dallas: Turning red states blue, one city at a time

There is nothing surprising in this story at Breitbart about Dallas, Texas “progressive” mayor Mike Rawlings.

mike Rawlings
Democrat Mayor Mike Rawlings “welcomes” third worlders to Dallas.

But, please take note of the the big global bank—JP Morgan Chase—underwriting this series of discussions called ‘City Makers Summit’ where they are attempting to sell the idea that only migrants can revitalize cities.
I’ve been begging for years for some think tank with economic know-how to do a study of long-established resettlement cities like Utica, NY  (or Amarillo, TX!) because I believe such a study would quickly kill this notion that importing poverty was good for a city.
Lana Shadwick at Breitbart:

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings said during a recent summit on the city’s economy, its workforce, and its future, that he believes welcoming refugees is crucial to Dallas becoming a “global city.” The Democratic mayor made the statement after being asked about “hosting refugees” and “bringing people inside” as “one of the building blocks of a revitalized town.”

Rawlings made these statements during a recent “City Makers Summit” hosted by The Atlantic and JP Morgan Chase. The summit was held on March 10th and was the third of such events by the publication. Other events have been held in Washington, D.C. and San Francisco.

[….]

The Democrat mayor in the democratic/”Blue” city called himself “a pretty progressive guy” and appeared to be quite proud of it.

Pope's publicity stunt at Texas border timed to influence US election

Make no mistake, Pope Francis is interjecting himself into the 2016 Presidential election by walking with illegal aliens on the Mexican side of the border who want to get into the US.
This is a direct assault by the Catholic Church on Donald Trump and any other Republicans (including the Governor of Texas) who say they want to close the US border with Mexico.
How dare he!
From the Dallas Morning News about his walk with migrants he calls refugees.
They are not refugees! People escaping poverty or crime are not legally refugees, but the Pope and the NO Borders Left are purposefully confusing the terminology.  They want all migrants-on-the-move to be called REFUGEES who are then entitled to protection and welfare.

pope lampedusa
I’m never going to let readers forget that when the Pope went to the Italian island of Lampedusa in 2013 to “welcome” the illegal aliens coming from the Middle East and North Africa, he gave permission for the invasion of Europe. How dare he do the same here in a Presidential election year! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2013/07/09/pope-lectures-on-lampedusa/

In his first speech to the church hierarchy over the weekend in Mexico City, Francis wasted little time in addressing the plight of migrants. “So many families are separated,” he said, “and integration into the supposedly ‘promised land’ is not always as easy as some believe.”

From the beginning of his pontificate, Francis, himself the son of immigrants, has made the treatment of migrants and refugees worldwide a priority. His first travel outside Rome was to the Italian island of Lampedusa, where boatloads of asylum-seekers from the Middle East and Africa had been landing.

Catholic officials have said the pope’s original plan was to cross the U.S.-Mexico border during his visit as a symbolic gesture of unity, but security and logistical barriers put an end to that idea. U.S. authorities were fearful that such a move would bring an onslaught of people across the border.

The closest Francis will get to the United States is about 50 yards from El Paso.

Across the river and through the fences, a limited group of “Francis VIPs,” including unauthorized immigrants seeking asylum in the United States, will assemble along the border and await the pope’s blessing.

Since the Pope won’t do it, it is up to you, American patriots, to keep reminding your friends and neighbors that the Catholic Church in America receives millions of your tax dollars to resettle refugees (including tens of thousands of Muslims), to take care of the Unaccompanied Alien Children, to harbor illegal aliens and to lobby for more migrants and more money (for themselves)!

Amarillo, TX being destroyed by refugee overload

“Small ghettos” of competing ethnic groups have developed!

We have been writing about Amarillo, Texas (a ‘pocket of resistance’) for a couple of years (see our complete archive by clicking here).  Like so many meatpacking towns in America, federal refugee resettlement contractors*** got a foot hold there years ago (mostly working as ‘head hunters’ for the meatpacking industry) and have continued to pour third-worlders into Amarillo despite pleas by elected officials to STOP! (See our post just yesterday, here, about BIG MEAT).
***Update*** See more about Cargill, the meat giant, here.
***Update Jan. 15th*** For some reason this post went viral, please take a minute to read the comments esp. ‘7delta’s’ response to reader Keith Jones who said that sharia law is no threat to us.

Omar Jamal in Amarillo

From Watchdog.org (hat tip: Robin):

As Texas officials spar with Obama administration lawyers over refugee resettlement, Amarillo is building Muslim “ghettos.”

Under federal refugee programs, the North Texas town has become home to more than 1,000 Mideast migrants – giving Amarillo the highest refugee ratio in the country.

“Our education system is overloaded with kids who can’t speak English. We have something like 22 languages spoken in our schools,” said William Sumerford, a local taxpayer activist.

City Commissioner Randy Burkett is considering a plan to halt further refugee settlements. Burkett could not be reached, but Mayor Paul Harpole isn’t optimistic about the city’s authority to push back.

“We’ve been a giving community, and it’s a huge disservice to bring in refugees in numbers that we’re not able to handle. We create small ghettos,” Harpole told Watchdog.org.

Why do Somalis need their own government within American cities?  It is about Sharia Law! This is how it begins!

“A group of Somalis came in to say they had elected a mayor of their community,” Harpole related. “Then another faction claimed they had their own leader. We come to find out that rival tribes — slaves and masters — were being settled together.”

[….]

Mayor Harpole said the city’s schools are particularly hard hit.

“We have 660 (refugee) kids who don’t speak English and the U.S. Department of Education says they have to be at grade level within one year. It’s a ludicrous requirement — they don’t even know how to use the bathroom,” Harpole said. Washington pays schools $100 per refugee student per year.

There is much more at Watchdog.org.
See also our three part series on Texas, here, from last year.
And, here is a recent post about Cargill caving to Somali demands regarding prayer break times.  Cargill is one of four meat giants destroying America towns and cities as they lure cheap refugee labor to your community.
Photo:  I can’t believe it, Omar Jamal, was acting once again like the Somali ‘Jesse Jackson’ here in 2012.  I bet we have mentioned Jamal in 50 posts (more!) here at RRW over the years.  He was originally an illegal alien, but was never deported and he manages to get to every hot spot in America as the voice of Somalis.
