Step right up! Get your Obamacare for refugees

Sebelius: I don’t give a damn if they eat cake, just get the refugees signed up now! (No, she didn’t say that—ed)

Today I received an e-mail from See Yang at the Office of Refugee Resettlement, if you don’t know, that is in the Department of Health and Human Services headed by the beleagured Kathleen Sebelius.

They are urging refugees to sign up and sign up now for Obamacare!

Here is what Yang says:

Health Insurance – Beyond the First Eight Months

Right now, many refugees get short-term health insurance called Refugee Medical Assistance (RMA).  It is available for up to eight months.  Some refugees may be eligible for Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) which is available for several years.

Thanks to the health care law, the health insurance landscape for refugees and other Americans is changing for the better in 2014.  Many refugees, who could only get eight months of insurance through RMA, will be able to get ongoing health insurance through the Marketplace.

How to Get Health Insurance at the Marketplace

The Affordable Care Act (ACA) creates the Marketplace to help people shop for health insurance at lower costs.  The Marketplace also helps you find out if you are eligible for programs like Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

No matter where you live, you will only need to fill out a single application on the Marketplace.  You can access the Marketplace online at www.healthcare.gov, by phone at 1-800-318-2596, or by sending a paper application in the mail….

ORR wants to make sure that refugees and service providers know how to navigate the health insurance landscape.  ORR developed the following tools to help with outreach and enrollment activities:

I don’t want to sound too picky, but is that lady in the opening scene watering artificial flowers?  Or, how about that rather plump lady in a closing scene about to eat some very rich looking cakes? Did they run it by Michelle?  A plate of veggie sticks might have been a more suitable choice don’t you think!   By the way, where is Michelle lately? And, how much did this production cost?

Update:  Here is more—good riddance to bad rubbish!

I saw this story in my small-city newspaper the other day and it frosted me—‘Saudi withdrawal stuns UN Security Council‘ about how the “Kingdom” turned down a seat at the UN Security Council (good!) because they are p*****-off at Washington for not starting more wars in the Middle East with Syria and with Iran.  Who the hell do they think they are?

Are we starting costly wars to protect Saudi Arabia?  And, in the wake of those wars, we get the Muslim refugees (the Saudis take none!) who come to America where Saudi Arabia builds them mosques and schools and we pay for their welfare.  What do we get out of this deal?

UNITED NATIONS (United States) (AFP) – Saudi Arabia angrily rejected a UN Security Council seat Friday, accusing the UN body of “double standards” over the Syria war and other trouble spots in an unprecedented diplomatic broadside.

The Saudi snub sparked disarray at the Security Council. The oil-rich Gulf monarchy had only won the seat on Thursday at a UN General Assembly election.

World peace and security—blah! blah! blah!

But senior UN envoys said they did not expect the Saudi government to reverse the decision, which was announced in an outspoken foreign ministry statement.

“Work mechanisms and double-standards on the Security Council prevent it from carrying out its duties and assuming its responsibilities in keeping world peace,” the ministry said.

Saudi Arabia “has no other option but to turn down Security Council membership until it is reformed and given the means to accomplish its duties and assume its responsiblities in preserving the world’s peace and security.”

The government said “allowing the ruling regime in Syria to kill and burn its people” with chemical weapons is “irrefutable evidence and proof of the inability of the Security Council to carry out its duties and responsibilities.”

Diplomats and analysts said the Saudi gesture was mainly directed at the United States, which first threatened a military strike against Syria then backed down and which has started a dialogue with Riyadh’s arch-foe Iran.

By the way, we have been following the Syrian “refugee crisis” closely and have not seen one word about Saudi Arabia offering to take a single Syrian “refugee” in response to the UN’s call for countries “with the means” to step up and offer third-country resettlement.   I have not seen the UN call them out on it either!   Shouldn’t Samantha Power be lecturing them on the ‘responsibility to protect?’

Germany: Lampedusa in Hamburg (disturbing!)

In Germany, there’s a group of refugee demanders with a website called Lampedusa in Hamburg. The front page photo shows a banner reading, “We did not survive the NATO war in Libya to die on the streets of Hamburg,” which is kind of a double-down statement of Screw the West for ousting the dictator and now give us free stuff in Germany.

Hundreds of refugees and activists of the “Lampedusa in Hamburg” group took the streets of Hamburg on Wednesday to protests against the alleged unlawful treatment of migrants by the Hamburg Senate.

Protesters marched from the main station to the city hall and back in a 2-hour demonstration to also show their support to the victims of the recent shipwrecks occurred off the Italian island of Lampedusa.

Clashes erupted Tuesday night in Hamburg after around 500 protesters demonstrating in front of the squatted theatre “Roten Flora” reportedly threw stones and bottles to police, who used pepper spray and batons on protesters.

So, this is where we are after Obama’s three witches (including ‘responsibility to protect’ Samantha Power) helped bring down Gaddafi.  He might have been a crazy dictator, but the invasion of African boat people out of Libya is now completely out of control and the consequences for Europe will be hard (impossible?) to reverse.   Call it Gaddafi’s revenge!
