Syrians, Afghans and Somalis top the list! From AP at FoxNews:
BRUSSELS – The European Union’s statistical agency says more people were granted asylum across the 28-nation bloc last year mostly because of a high influx of refugees fleeing the war in Syria.
Eurostat said Thursday the number of accepted asylum seekers rose by 17 percent to 135,700 in 2013 from 116,200 a year earlier, meaning about one in three applications was accepted out of a total of 462,000.
The biggest group of refugees that were granted asylum were some 36,000 Syrians, a quarter of the total, followed by about 16,000 Afghans and 9,700 Somalis.
Sweden, with 9.6 million inhabitants, was the most generous country in accepting asylum seekers, granting protection to 26,400 people, followed by Germany, the EU’s most populous nation, which accepted 26,100 people. France took in 16,200, and Italy 14,500.

See the Department of Homeland Security’s annual flow report for 2012 (the most recent one we could find) that summarizes the numbers and where they come from of US refugees and asylees. The Office of Refugee Resettlement told us that in 2013 we took about 143,000 refugees and asylum seekers (all are eligible for welfare goodies).
The UK government is being whacked for not doing enough to give aid to Syrian refugees by admitting them to the UK, but what continues to me as a most amazing thing is that the US has only let in 42 Syrians so far through the Refugee Admissions program and no one is whacking Obama! [Syrians may be getting in through other means—ed].
Every day I check my alerts for the Obama announcement—nothing so far.
And, every month I check the numbers for our refugee admissions, here, and in the first 8 months of this fiscal year we have admitted 42 Syrians. The UN wanted us to take 30,000 this year and the contractors were pushingfor nearly that many.
Somehow, somewhere, someone in Washington is holding back the flood of Syrians to your towns and cities and I would love to know how and why that is!
LOL! Maybe Obama is holding that card for his White House crisis for next week!
Luke Cooper, international anti-capitalist and author of “Beyond Capitalism” says the US is doing more for Syrian refugees than the UK?
Only 24 refugees from Syria have been allowed to enter Britain, almost six months after the Government promised that “several hundred” would be given sanctuary.
Refugee groups accused the Home Office of dragging its feet despite a growing humanitarian crisis in countries bordering Syria. Labour blamed the delay on the Government’s decision not to accept a quota of refugees under a United Nations programme and to run a “go it alone” scheme.
The UN High Commissioner on Refugees is on track to place 30,000 Syrians in rich nations. But it has warned that 100,000 people a month are now fleeing the country and is launching another appeal for countries to take in a total of another 100,000 Syrians in 2015 and 2016.

The Government intends to admit 500 refugees – but now says that it will be over a three-year period. No timescale was given by Theresa May, the Home Secretary, in January, when she announced a U-turn after a campaign by The Independent.
I don’t know what Luke Cooper (Syria Solidarity Movement) is talking about here when he references US generosity? We do give large monetary donations, but we aren’t bringing Syrian refugees in large numbers yet! Germany, as readers here know, has opened their country to thousands of Syrians (they are aiming for 20,000 this year).
The Home Office response to this catastrophe is quite disgraceful, especially seen in the context of the generous programmes of the United States, Germany, and others.”
Makes me wonder if Cooper and the other “humanitarian” types are being lied to by Obama or could we be bringing in Syrians under a different ethnic quota??? and that is why the US resettlement contractors have shut up lately.
I think the politicians in the UK see the writing on the wall for their political careers if they dump too many Muslims into British towns and cities at this point in time.

The future of radical politics.‘) The UK Syria Solidarity Movement is affiliated with the UK’s New Left and international anti-capitalists.
Whether on the US border or in Europe, the Hard Left is using migrants to bring on the revolution.
Just keep it up! “Refugee” will definitely be a very bad word when/if the Obama-generated crisis on the border is ever resolved.

Mayor Fitch: Yippee! Federal money and federal workers headed our way!

Oklahomans expect an economic boom as a result of the flood of illegal immigrant children the federal government has begun sending their way.
The Department of Defense has loaned the facilities at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma, to the Department of Health and Human Services to house approximately 600 unaccompanied alien children, according to the Department of Defense. Local officials expect the surrounding community to reap the rewards.
“They’re talking about $1.2 million impact for the Lawton-Fort Sill community within the first 30 days,” Lawton Mayor Fred Fitch told KSWO 7 News.
Lawtonwill roll in federal tax dollars/federal workers and the “children” will all be good kids (as long as they are confined)!
The Oklahomanreports the ratio of federal worker to child at Ft. Sill will be one federal worker per every two children. Based on that ratio, the area could expect approximately 300 federal workers.An HHS factsheetindicates such workers would include representatives from the Office of Refugee Resettlement within HHS’ Administration for Children and Families. The kids will be kept in a 200,000 square foot building and kept under 24-hour supervision. Fitch insisted to KSWO that the children will not be allowed to leave the confines of the post and that the influx of children will not have any adverse impact on the local community.

If you don’t remember it, look back at some of my posts on the topic (hereis a pretty good summary with links from 2011). In fact, the Sanctuary Movement was responsible for the birth of the now notorious CASA de Maryland in our home state. In the early 1980s, churches (mostly Catholic Churches/Chicago Catholics, some protestant churches especially Presbyterians and Lutherans, and the Quakers) helped illegal Central Americans get through Mexico and then across a much better guarded border than we seem to have today.
The churches then hid the illegals and transported them to other church shelters across America, one of those was in Takoma Park, Maryland where CASA was born. And, what a coincidence, Takoma Park is the home of the infamous Obama Labor Secretary Thomas Perez (Maryland! Watch out for Perez when Obama is no longer in office!).
Today, the flow is massive and doesn’t apparently involve dangerous night-time crossings of the border. More importantly, today the ‘churches’ are out in the open and actually being paid by the federal government to take care of the kids (see the Office of Refugee Resettlement and its contractors, here).
But, are those churches (church contractors) actually involved in promoting and busing the illegal aliens through Mexico and to our border—-that is the $64,000 question!
Here is a news account at National Review (Hat tip: Linda) primarily about the gang members (MS-13!) coming across now along with the “kids,” The article contains a little nugget at the end that suggests the churches are once again involved.
Could the Catholic Church need new parishioners this badly? Could they actually be hiring the buses and transporting the “children?”
Border Patrol officials struggling to keep up with the increasing number of minors illegally crossing the Mexican border are not turning away persons with known gang affiliations. Chris Cabrera, vice president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 3307 in the Rio Grande Valley, explained that a Border Patrol agent he represents helped reunite a teenage gang member with his family in the United States. Cabrera notes the young member of Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), a transnational criminal gang, had no criminal record in the U.S., but asks, “If he’s a confirmed gang member in his own country, why are we letting him in here?”
The government is going to take care of us!
“I’ve heard people come in and say, ‘You’re going to let me go, just like you let my mother go, just like you let my sister go. You’re going to let me go as well, and the government’s going to take care of us,’”Cabrera says. “Until we start mandatory detentions, mandatory removals, I don’t think anything is going to change. As a matter of fact, I think it’s going to get worse.”
Radio and television commercial spots ran in Central America telling migrants to go to the US now (if anyone in America helped pay for this, they have committed treason!):
Cueto (Art Del Cueto, president of the National Border Patrol Council Local 2544 in Tucson) says when he asked a group of children about their motivation, they spoke of the “announcer on the radio” who encouraged them to head for the United States.Cueto says Central American radio, television, other media, and religious groups have all encouraged people to move north to the United States.
Did any of your tax dollars go into this campaign directly or indirectly through the federal ‘refugee’ contractors?
Here (below) for your review are the refugee contractors—the religious LEFT! (USCRI, ECDC and the IRC are secular contractors).
We know that the US Conference of Catholic Bishops and Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service are being paid to ‘service’ the “children.” Are they involved in encouraging the mass migration of ‘unaccompanied alien minors’ as well?
And, for any of you do-gooders concerned for real refugees, thank the contractors for helping label these illegal aliens, including the gang bangers, as “refugees.”
Recently we have praised two first world countries where governments are trying to save themselves from migrant tides rising around the world—Australia and Israel. I should have added Bulgaria to the short list of countries with a will to survive.

Bulgaria has embarked on a “Containment Plan” to reduce the number of asylum seekers in the country, Human Rights Watch said in a report released Tuesday.
According to the 76-page report, called “Containment Plan: Bulgaria’s Pushbacks and Detention of Syrian and other Asylum Seekers and Migrants,” the plan has been carried out in part by summarily pushing back Syrians, Afghans, and others as they irregularly cross the border from Turkey. [Ticks me off! No one ever criticizes Muslim Turkey for allowing the crossings of mostly Muslims into Bulgaria!—ed]
The document speaks of how in recent months Bulgarian border police have summarily returned people, who appear to be asylum seekers, to Turkey without proper procedures and with no opportunity to lodge asylum claims. Bulgaria should end summary expulsions at the Turkish border, stop the excessive use of force by border guards, and improve the treatment of detainees and conditions of detention in police stations and migrant detention centers, the report said.
Bulgaria has not been a host country for significant numbers of refugees on average registering about 1,000 asylum seekers per year in the past decade. The situation changed in 2013 when more than 11,000 people, over half of them fleeing Syria’s deadly repression and war, lodged asylum applications. Despite ample early warning signs, Bulgaria was unprepared for the increase, Human Rights Watch claimed citing a February 5, 2014 report by the Interior Ministry saying that “Until mid-2013 Bulgaria was completely unprepared for the forecasted refugee flow.”
Keep in mind that Bulgaria is not only being overrun with Syrians, Africans ‘make their way’ all the way to Bulgaria— some going through Turkey as well.
