Invasion of Europe continues as Italy ‘rescues’ 4,000 migrants in one week

This (below) is an Associated Press story published in the Washington Post on Friday.  In the final paragraphs of the article we are given some important statistics.

From the WaPo:

ROME — Italian authorities say they have rescued more than 4,000 would-be migrants at sea over the past four days as the war in Syria and instability in Libya spawn new waves of refugees.

Italian maritime officials said 2,922 people were picked up Monday and Tuesday, and 1,165 were rescued Wednesday and Thursday.

The spike in migrants is primarily because of renewed instability in Libya, where refugees from Syria and across Africa gather, awaiting a chance to buy passage on smuggling boats, said Carlotta Sami, a spokeswoman for the U.N. refugee agency in Italy.

Let us not forget who helped destabilize Libya—Obama’s three witches:  Hillary, Samantha and Susan!

Who knew Russia was in the top three countries producing ‘asylum seekers!’  LOL! They can’t all be gay men who heard about Villanova?

Syria, Russia and Afghanistan had the largest numbers of people fleeing their homelands to seek asylum last year, the U.N. agency said. Russia was the source of 39,779 asylum seekers, up from 22,650 in 2012. And 38,653 Afghans sought asylum last year, vs. 47,519 in 2012.

These are numbers to remember!

The 38 nations of Europe had 484,600 asylum claims in 2013, 32 percent higher than in 2012. The United States dealt with 88,360 asylum applications last year.

For new readers and as a reminder to our long-time readers, asylum seekers get to a country’s borders (or overstay a visa) and then request asylum (refugee status) claiming they will be “persecuted” if sent home.  Once granted asylum (in the US for instance), they become “asylees” and are given all of the rights and welfare goodies that refugees screened abroad and flown in receive.  ‘Asylum seekers’ (mostly economic migrants) are on the move worldwide—of course all attempting to get into first world countries.

Putin now becomes another great excuse to seek asylum in a neighboring European Union country—Poland.  The invasion of Europe continues….

As I read this story, hat tip ‘pungentpeppers,’ and did some additional reading, I’m wondering why in h*** the mainstream TV media in the US hasn’t said anything I know of about the Tatars, the Muslim minority, numbering in the hundreds of thousands in Ukraine.

Watch for it!  The next large wave of ‘asylum seekers’ wanting to be let into Europe proper will be this Muslim ethnic group!

A group of 32 Crimean Tatars has requested refugee status in Poland following Russia’s annexation of the Black Sea peninsula, Polish border guards said Friday.

The eight families, or 32 Tatars in total, requested refugee status late Thursday at the border crossing with Ukraine in the southern Polish village of Medyka, Polish border-guard spokeswoman Agnieszka Golias told AFP.

“They justified their act by the situation in Crimea. We received their requests and launched the appropriate administrative procedures. In the meantime, they may be sent to a refugee centre, without being required to go,” she said.

The Muslim ethnic group, which makes up between 12 to 15 percent of the Crimean population, has protested against Russia’s intervention on the peninsula and mostly stayed away from a disputed referendum in which the Russian-speaking majority overwhelmingly voted in favour of breaking away from Ukraine.

Then have a look at two other articles, here (history of the Tatars and Russia) and here (Tatars don’t believe Putin’s promises).

The Tatars are a Turkish people, so why not seek asylum in Turkey—doesn’t that make more sense!

I fully expect to see US resettlement contractors in coming months clamor for Tatars to be resettled in the US to add to their collection of ethnic diversity!  Although, truth be told, we are probably already resettling Muslims from Ukraine and aren’t being informed about it.

Surely you heard the news about 100 plus Central American illegal aliens held in a “stash house” in Houston this week.  The story broke a couple of days ago, coincidentally about the same time that Human Rights First announced its new legal office would be opening in, wait for it, Houston!

You can bet most of these 100 ‘persecuted’ Central Americans will be looking to file asylum claims—a growing worldwide racket!  Human Rights First will be there to help.

Houston asylum seekers! We are on our way!

Asylum seekers in Houston come from dozens of countries – from Honduras to Congo, from Belarus to Bhutan. They are victims of torture, survivors of genocide, women fleeing the threat of rape, honor killings and sometimes brutal domestic violence, former political prisoners, or minorities persecuted because of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. The United States has a well-deserved reputation for welcoming persecuted refugees. But we fall short when they are left to sort out their legal status without the help of a lawyer.

Some 75 percent of immigrants detained in Houston have no legal representation; the rate is only somewhat better for those who are not detained. This in a system where having a lawyer can mean all the difference. Houston’s eight legal service providers are overstretched, and most do not specialize in helping refugees seeking asylum.

To help meet this urgent need, the nonprofit Human Rights First is bringing its award-winning pro bono operation to Houston. Wyoming had 5 eligible “refugees” in the state in FY2012 and the Governor thinks they need a federal plan?

This week we reported on Wyoming Governor Matt Mead’s op-ed in which he said Wyoming needed a plan (with the feds and their contractors) to cope with the “refugees” already arriving in Wyoming.  I wondered what the heck he was talking about.

This morning I’m working on another post on the ‘Key Indicators for Refugee Placement FY2014,’ that is the planning document the US State Department and the Office of Refugee Resettlement (in Health and Human Services) are using to determine if your town or city has the “capacity” and the “welcoming” attitude needed for a refugee resettlement seed community.

I wish I could reproduce it here, but see the figures for FY2012 in this table (p.3-4).  It is a state-by-state review of how many refugees/asylees etc. came to your state and what goodies they get there.

By the way, don’t be fooled (don’t start salivating for federal dollars!) by that last column which lists the federal $$$ going to your state—the majority goes to the CONTRACTOR to spend, it is not money that goes into your state or city coffers for your local leaders to decide where to soften the refugee impact.

And, always keep in mind there are NO FINANCIAL AUDITS of the contractors!

So get this Wyoming!

Go to pages 3 & 4 of ‘Key indicators….’  You had a whopping 5 (five!) refugees in Wyoming in FY2012.   And, those were asylees!  Asylees have been granted asylum.  They got into the US illegally (Mexicans are now asking for asylum) or overstayed a visa, claimed they would be persecuted if sent home and were granted asylum.  We recently reported that a Congressional hearing revealed that as many as 70% of those granted asylum may have made fraudulent claims.

For readers new to this subject, the most recent ‘famous’ aslyees were the Boston Bombers!

So Governor Mead wants to turn over Wyoming’s demographic future to the feds for a handful of asylees, another handful of secondary migrants, and a handful of change from the federal taxpayer?   It will be more than a handful of refugees once Lutheran Family Services Rocky Mountains gets its foot in the door.

We’ve been reporting about the invasion of the Spanish territories on the coast of Morocco in recent weeks, here and here. The largest group yet of supposed asylum seekers scaled the barbed wire barriers while the world fixates on Russia’s brazen move on the Ukraine.

I would suggest that what is happening to countries on Europe’s borders—Italy, Greece, Bulgaria, Spain and Malta— with the waves of largely Muslim men breaking into those countries, will have a more significant impact on the future of Europe than what Putin is doing at the moment, yet the politically-correct media just can’t (or won’t) see it.

(Reuters) – About 500 people forced their way into Spain’s North African enclave of Melilla on Tuesday, Spanish officials said, the largest number to storm the border in almost a decade as increasing naval patrols discourage entry by sea.

Spain has two enclaves in Morocco, Ceuta and Melilla, and migrants from all over Africa regularly try to reach them, mostly by climbing the triple barriers that separate them from Morocco. Deaths and injuries are common.

Making the most of dense fog to sneak up to the crossing and climb the high wire fence, a total of 1,100 people, according to Spanish figures, and about 600, according to Morocco, made a rush across the border throughout the night and morning.

“There’s been a mass rush (which was) unfortunately violent, which has become the norm. On the Moroccan side they threw stones, sticks and other objects at the security forces,” Melilla governor Melilla, Abdelmalik El Barkani, told reporters.

Thousands of migrants camp for months around Beni Chiguer, from where the attempts were made on Tuesday. The area is covered in shrubs, providing daytime cover for people who then attempt to cross by night.

Migrants enter the enclaves without official documents, often without belongings and wearing just flimsy shoes and shorts, and are housed in temporary centers until their identity can be determined or until they are moved.

Many end up in continental Spain and either stay there or travel throughout Europe.

Be sure to watch this Russian TV clip of the live action.  Ironically, Russia is one of the few European countries that probably ‘gets-it’ about the migrant invasion.
