NGOs organize Cambodian protesters to oppose Australia refugee deal

What! Not “welcoming” refugees in Cambodia? Are these Cambodians racists, xenophobes (maybe even Islamophobes)?

Cambodians protesting in Phnom Penh. We don’t want refugees here! We have our own poor people to take care of! Gee! Where have I heard that before? Reuters photo.

If you are arriving here for the first time, please see our ‘Australia category’ for all the background on this.  The gist of it is that Australia has struck a very lucrative deal for the Cambodian government to take some of Australia’s boat people asylum-seekers and resettle them in Cambodia.

Australian Immigration Minister Scott Morrison royally ticked-off the humanitarian industrial complex when he dared ask—if the asylum seekers want safety, then why not resettle in Cambodia?  Why, he asked, do they have a right to a first world country?   See our recent post.

So here is the latest:  The Leftwing Non-governmental Organizations have ginned-up demonstrations in Phnom Penh where demonstrators demanded that Australia keep the asylum seekers.

You know what strikes me as so funny (sort of) is that no one calls the Cambodians “racists” or “xenophobes” for not wanting the refugees and wanting their own people taken care of first!    Imagine if we took to the streets with placards not wanting to “welcome” refugees!

From Reuters:

Movements, students and religious organizations have joined a growing chorus of opposition to Cambodia’s agreement to resettle refugees from Australia.

Protesters in Cambodia issued a petition on Friday calling for the government to ditch a controversial agreement to resettle refugees redirected from Australia.

[…..]

The march was in response to a controversial deal inked between the Cambodian and Australian governments in late September.

Under the deal, the Cambodian government agreed to take in refugees from Australian detention centers, in exchange for cash from Canberra to cover resettlement costs.

The Australian government sweetened the deal by pledging around US$35 million in development projects over the next four years. While both governments say the deal guarantees refugees their rights under international law, the thousands of protesters who took to the streets of Phnom Penh thought otherwise.

The article goes on to quote protestors who say their own poor people are not being adequately cared-for.

Sure looks like some skilled ‘community organizers’ and outside agitators have moved in to whip up a frenzy!  Funny though that the mainstream media plays right along when the demonstration fits the media’s agenda as well.

Organized by a broad coalition of NGOs, monks, students and others, the protesters delivered a petition condemning the deal to the government, offices of the United Nations and European Union, and embassies of Australia and United States.  [Why in front of the US embassy, is this any of our business?—ed]

It wasn’t long ago that Israelis went to the streets and said they didn’t want refugees there either and all hell broke loose and worldwide criticism followed.  Here is one story from January 2013 about citizens of Tel Aviv demonstrating and wanting African migrants deported, but of course those demonstrators weren’t treated with kid gloves by the media as the Cambodians are.  Funny how that double-standard works, isn’t it?

Remember Cloward and Piven and how to bring on the revolution while hiding behind the shield of good intentions?  We get it! We know that it is all about flooding wealthy western countries with third world impoverished people in order to bring down the West.

Australia’s refugee deal with Cambodia infuriates ‘human rights’ industry activists

I meant to write this post last week as the deal was coming to fruition and the human rights gangsters/no borders activists were screaming their heads off, but didn’t get to it and now I see that the deal has been sealed.

Immigration Minister Scott Morrison working to save Australia from the No-borders movement.

Australia is planning to allow some ‘asylum seekers’ who broke into Australia illegally to choose to be resettled in Cambodia.

The Abbott government’s immigration minister Scott Morrison got into hot water some months ago by asking (or stating) this very important point:

Why do we assume that asylum seekers have a right to resettlement in a first-world country?

That is a really good point, if they are seeking freedom from persecution, what is wrong with Cambodia?  Or, are they all really just economic migrants masquerading as persecuted people.

Here is the news from Friday at Yahoo News:

Australia’s refugee resettlement deal with Cambodia is a long-term arrangement that will start small but build over time, Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said.

The deal, announced on Friday and many months in the making, has been condemned by the United Nations’ refugee agency and human rights advocates.

Speaking to the ABC’s AM program, Mr Morrison said four or five refugees will be resettled in Cambodia in the early stages, but only time will tell how many refugees will make the move.

“And it’ll be based on the success of the program over time. And of course it’s a voluntary program,” he said.

He said it was a long-term agreement and Cambodia would determine how many refugees it would accept.

And, here is the story I was going to post last week from  The Australian ( Charities call Cambodia refugee resettlement deal immoral):

Mr Morrison, who has lobbied for developing nations to share a higher burden of the world’s refugees, said the arrangement with Cambodia would be “an ongoing, developing relationship” to build the country’s capacity to offer protection to refugees.

Former Family Court chief justice Alastair Nicholson, speaking on behalf of a coalition of charities, described the proposal as “inappropriate, immoral and likely illegal”.

“It is inappropriate because Cambodia has no capacity within its social sector to take an influx of refugees. Immoral because these vulnerable people are Australia’s responsibility, and while we await the detail, it appears illegal in contravening Australia’s humanitarian and refugee obligations to vulnerable children and families,” Mr Nicholson said.

[….]

Mr Nicholson’s comments were endorsed by a coalition of charities including UNICEF Australia, Save the Children, Plan International Australia, World Vision, Amnesty International, Refugee Council of Australia, International Detention Coalition and Children’s Rights International.

The proof of progress is in the statistics!

The Australian government’s hard line position against open borders (against an asylum-seeker free-for-all) has put Australia in the category of only a few advanced countries whose “asylum seeker” numbers have actually gone down.  See the recently released UN report we told you about here.  It can be done, but most Western governments, including the US, have apparently no will to live.

Can you just imagine how ticked-off UNHCR Antonio Guterres must be at Australia!  He likely fears that some other countries might grow a spine!

New UNHCR report on asylum: US is second most desirable nation in the world for asylum seekers

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees has released his ‘mid-year’ report and it’s no surprise asylum claims are up world-wide.

For clarification, asylum seekers are people who get into another country on their own and then apply for asylum in hopes of being declared legitimate refugees a designation which brings with it access to social services and usually puts them on track for citizenship in their new country.   The Tsarnaev family had been granted asylum and thus were called political refugees.  The no-borders agitators are trying to make the case that the ‘Unaccompanied alien children’ fit this category as well.

A few countries have temporary asylum.  In the US if you are granted asylum you are in!

UNHCR Antonio Guterres, former President of the Socialist International, said that the US has pledged “open-ended” numbers for Syrian refugee resettlement! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2014/06/30/unhcr-says-us-has-pledged-open-ended-resettlement-numbers-for-syrians/

The other track for potential refugees is to be selected by the UN abroad and then to be assigned to a resettlement country—most are assigned to the US!

From the Malta Independent:

A UNHCR report released today shows that the number of people seeking refugee status in industrialized countries continued to climb in the first half of 2014, driven by the wars in Syria and Iraq as well as conflict and instability in Afghanistan, Eritrea and elsewhere.

[….]

We are clearly into an era of growing conflict,” said UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres. “The global humanitarian system is already in great difficulty. The international community needs to prepare their populations for the reality that in the absence of solutions to conflict more and more people are going to need refuge and care in the coming months and years. Unfortunately, it is not clear that the resources and the access to asylum will be available to help them.”

Despite the net overall increase in new claims shown in the report, more than two thirds of these were in just six countries – Germany, the United States, France, Sweden, Turkey and Italy.

Central Europe, in particular Hungary and Poland, as well as Australia saw declines in the numbers of people asking to be accepted as refugees.   [The Abbott government is clearly having success in pushing back the illegal alien boats!—ed]

Go here for the whole report.  The UN is happy to help you replace your population!

Afghan teen shot dead in Australia after stabbing counter-terrorism officers

Breaking news from Down Under thanks to ‘pungentpeppers.’

It was just a few days ago Australian authorities arrested suspected Jihadists in a massive terror bust, here.  Now this….

From the Herald Sun:

One of many photos from the crime scene

UPDATE: A MUSLIM teen shot dead after he stabbed two counter-terrorism officers was a member of a radical Islamic group that was raided in Melbourne’s southeast two years ago.

Islamic Council of Victoria secretary Ghaith Krayem said members of Al Furqan told him that the 18-year-old Afghani man, described this morning as a “known terror suspect”, hadn’t been a part of the group for a while.

Al Furqan Information Centre in Springvale South was raided by counter-terrorism squads in 2012. It is thought the teenager came to the authorities attention following the raids.

It comes as police say they had “no choice” but to shoot dead the Narre Warren man after he stabbed the two officers outside Endeavour Hills police station last night.

The Joint Counter Terrorism Taskforce had been monitoring the teenager for a number of months, Victoria Police chief commissioner Ken Lay said.

There is a lot more plus photos, here.

Australians foil plans in Muslim migrant community to behead Australian

Daniel Greenfield had the story yesterday, here, and thanks to reader Ed for sending it to us.

Photo from a demonstration in Sydney in 2012. http://www.smh.com.au/nsw/children-with-beheading-signs-an-outrage-says-scipione-20120916-2602v.html

Here is Greenfield at Frontpage magazine (with lots of photos):

Islamic terror doesn’t stay in Iraq. It doesn’t stay in Afghanistan. It follows the trail of Muslim migrants and settlers.

And here is the full story at Australia’s ABC News:

Police say a large-scale anti-terrorism raid in Sydney this morning has foiled a plot to “commit violent acts” in Australia, including a plan to behead a member of the public.

More than 800 officers launched the raids as part of Operation Appleby in suburbs across Sydney’s west and north-west, with a further 70 police involved in raids on properties in Brisbane’s south.

Police said 15 people had been detained in Sydney as part of the operation between NSW officers, the Australian Federal Police and ASIO.

Court documents are expected to reveal that the raids, at 25 different properties, were aimed at a cell which planned to behead a member of the public in Sydney.

The documents are expected to say that the plan involved snatching a random member of the public in Sydney, draping them in an Islamic State group (IS) flag and beheading them on camera.

There is more….

Regular readers know that Australia is having the same problem as Europe with illegal migrants—mostly from Muslim countries—attempting to break into the country.

But, they also have a growing Muslim ‘community’ from years past as they opened their doors to “refugees.”  The Abbott government is trying to get it under control now and Australia is one of only a few countries in the world at least seriously attempting to save itself.

See our Australia category (143 previous posts).  See especially this recent post that brought thousands of readers to RRW.

Why do you think it is that in Europe and in Australia, Muslims feel safe carrying signs like this one?
