RRW Monthly Roundup for the month of April 2016

RRW logoOh well, a few days late….
For new readers, every month (we previously reported every week which was too much), I post a roundup of the top posts for the previous month and the top ten countries from which readers hail.
Another thing I do every month (because there are so many new readers and navigating here could be confusing) is tell you generally what I do and where to find information. (My usual boiler-plate is below)
I’ve noticed again recently that readers first arriving at RRW must think that this is some giant organization with staff and interns etc. It isn’t!  This is a blog, a single topic blog, a news outlet focused primarily on the subject of the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program and more generally on the issue of refugee movement around the world.  It is just me here with occasional guest writers. So, I ask your patience if you post a comment and it’s a day later before I post it.  Or, if you send me something and I don’t acknowledge it.
Normally I blog from my home in Maryland, but am hoping to write from the road this summer, so watch for further information in the coming month or so.

Top Three Posts for April 2016 (daily top posts are in the right hand side bar):

1)Are you within a 100-mile radius of a resettlement site? If so, you are in the (ever-expanding) target range

2)Surprise! Missoula, Montana expected to get mostly Muslim refugees after all

3)Announcement from US Embassy in Jordan: Syrian refugee surge to America is now underway

These are the Top Ten Countries from which readers arrived here (excluding the US and in descending order):

Canada

UK

Australia

Germany

France

South Africa

Norway

Netherlands

New Zealand

Sweden

For New Readers (or longtime readers who have forgotten!)

I’ve started a new blog so that I can write about Election 2016, immigration (the only issue that matters!) and any fun thing I feel like posting.  Go to American Resistance 2016! and subscribe.
We have over 7,500 posts archived at RRW extending back to the summer of 2007.  Use the search window with a few key words to look for information (LOL! before you send an e-mail asking me to find things for you!).
Also, see our Frequently Asked Questions and our fact sheet (out of date but still useful) in the header.
I’ve been tweeting a lot and sometimes if I can’t write about a story you send, I tweet it.  See our twitter feed in the right-hand side bar. Even if you aren’t on twitter, you should be able to open the links to the news embedded in the tweet.  I am@RefugeeWatcher.
Likewise you might want to ‘like’ and follow RRW’s facebook page, here.  See it also in the left-hand side bar.
If you are looking for fellow grassroots activists in ‘pockets of resistance’ see the Refugee Resisters facebook page here (Jim Simpson).
All previous round-ups and this one are archived in a category simply called ‘blogging.’
My video about how the refugee program works is here (over 2.4 million views as of this writing).
All comments you submit are screened and we don’t post threats of violence, most foul language, or ad hominem attacks on other commenters.  Sometimes I am away from the computer for many hours, so you may not see your comment posted quickly.  And, lately I’ve noticed a delay by wordpress in sending me your comments.
As much as I would love to see you all in your hometowns, I hate speaking. I think I am more useful right here researching and writing.  However, I am thinking of a project for this summer that might take me to other states, but that is still in the ‘planning’ stage. I’ll know more next month.
Refugee Resettlement Watch is an entirely volunteer project by me—I haven’t raised funds or advertised. I am a free agent! No one pays me (in case my critics think I work for some monstrous evil outfit).  Therefore, I have no staff, no help, and so if I don’t answer the hundreds of e-mails I get every day, you know why!  And, I do apologize!
P.S.  There is so much happening on this subject that I would welcome (I encourage!) others to start blogs on the topic, either to cover your local and state issues or even to pick up more of the load nationally!  It does your community no good if you research, find important information (perhaps damning information) and then don’t share it widely!

RRW Monthly Roundup for month of March 2016

rrw-logo (1)It’s not surprising that the Brussels Islamic terrorist attack drove tens of thousands of readers to RRW.  It happens every time there is another bloody attack by those who have been given the gift of starting a new life in the West.
What did Belgium ever do to the young jihadists but “welcome” Muslim immigrants to their country.  And, look what happens, they kill and maim those who welcomed them.
It is simply a matter of the Muslim population reaching critical mass where the Islamists can hide within a community that shelters (and probably fears) them.  Belgium doesn’t have a Gitmo (Obama’s ridiculous argument), it doesn’t fly jets over Syrian villages, and the government of Belgium has signaled that it leans toward Palestine in that never-ending conflict with Israel.  Yet, look what they get for it!
No Mark, love will not conquer Muslim hatred for the West!
So the top two posts (of three) in March involved Belgium.
Top Three Posts:

Brussels is coming to a town near you! Time for a moratorium on Muslim migration to America!

On the day of the Brussel’s carnage, a man writing from Germany reports on the annihilation of Western civilization

Wyoming Public Radio pushing refugee resettlement for Wyoming

Top Ten Countries from which readers arrive at RRW (excluding the US):

Canada

UK

Australia

Germany

France

South Africa

India

Norway

Netherlands

Sweden

By the way, when I wrote this post a few days ago—-about the fact that American taxpayers are shelling out billions of dollars for approximately 200,000 HUMANITARIAN ARRIVALS each year—-that maybe we should be using that figure—200,000—instead of simply referring to the refugee component of the figure (right now set at 85,000 for FY 2016).

For new readers (my usual boiler plate language):

I’ve started a new blog so that I can write about Election 2016, immigration (the only issue that matters!) and any fun thing I feel like posting—see today’s post.  Go to American Resistance 2016! and subscribe.

As much as I would love to see you all in your hometowns, I simply don’t have the time to travel.  Right now I have a few engagements I committed to sometime ago, but am not taking any more right now.  I think I am more useful right here researching and writing.  I am thinking of a project for this summer that might take me to other states, but that is still in the ‘dreaming’ stage.
Refugee Resettlement Watch is an entirely volunteer project by me—we don’t raise funds or advertise.  Therefore, I have no staff, no help, and so if I don’t answer the hundreds of e-mails I get every day, you know why!  And, I do apologize!

RRW monthly roundup for February 2016

rrw-logoFor me, the most fun I had in February was tweeting more frequently.  I’m a newbie at it, but just passed the 2,000 mark for twitter followers!  For news junkies it is fun to quickly get lots of information out without having to work too hard!  And, even if you aren’t on twitter, you can see what I send and open the story links in the right hand side bar here.  There is way too much news now on refugees for me to keep up any other way.
Follow me on twitter, here, I am @RefugeeWatcher.
But, don’t forget facebook!  We have a facebook page too with over 16,000 likes! We post many of our stories there, but try not to overload your facebook feed.  Kelly Monroe Kullberg helps me there and she posts some other stories that we think will interest you.
Here are the Top Three Posts for the month of February (in addition to our fact sheet which is always popular even if a little outdated):

  1. Pope’s publicity stunt at Texas border timed to influence US election

  2. St. Cloud, MN billboard removed when Catholic Charities complains

  3. Scotland: Man arrested for “Islamophobic” facebook comments about Syrian refugees

Here are the Top Ten Countries (excluding the US) from which we received readers.  It is pretty much the same bunch every month, with a little variation (countries where citizens are really frightened!):

Canada

UK

Australia

Germany

France

Sweden

New Zealand

Norway

Netherlands

South Africa

RRW Monthly roundup for January 2016

rrw-logoLongtime readers know that previously we provided a weekly roundup of top stories and top countries (from which visitors arrived at RRW) so that you would know what other followers were most interested in, and where they came from, but I’m thinking once a month is enough.
This roundup also gives me an opportunity to bring new readers up-to-speed on what we have published here over the years and how to find useful information.

Visit me at my new blog! American Resistance 2016!

Dear faithful readers,
Refugee Resettlement Watch had its best year ever in 2015 breaking all previous records for visitors (over 2 million viewers!) from 220 countries, islands, and territories in addition to US readers.
I’ve decided that for 2016 I want to broaden the topics I write about.  Don’t get me wrong, the Refugee Admissions Program of the UN/US State Department is still a critical part of the plan to change America by changing the people, but I believe that in 2016 we must all turn our work toward the election in November.

Election 2016
Because nothing else matters!

If we don’t begin to turn this ship this year, we are finished as a great nation.

All of you please continue your work on the Refugee Admission Program (if you have lots of time), but please, if your time is limited, and you can’t do both, turn your energy to Election 2016 because if we have 4 more years of a Democrat in the White House, and Republicans who can be bought in Congress, we are doomed!
No changes in the makeup of the donor class Republican House and Senate or the Marxist/socialist Democrat White House means that refugee resettlement will only grow and expand.
Heck, look at all the pushback you provided this past year and the Congressional Republican leadership did nothing to advance your security or our economic well-being as they opened America’s gates even wider to mass migration from the Middle East and the impoverished third-world.
Starting today, find a place for yourself and your talents in Election 2016!
