Especially so-called feminist women should listen!
Do not miss this interview of former refugee Mona Walter by Natalia Osten-Sacken at Gatestone Institute.
I’ve snipped just a bit of the interview, but the entire discussion is riveting. See what she says about the moral equivalency the Pope has been promoting!

Russian writer at Bloomberg: Hungarians are xenophobic and old
And, according to Leonid Bershidsky writing at Bloomberg, they better get with it because they will demographically die if they don’t admit young Muslim migrant workers.
That is the gist of a too long opinion piece at Bloomberg. I’ve snipped just a bit of the article entitled:
Hungary Is Winning Its War on Muslim Immigrants
Bershidsky:
Orban’s Hungary…..is fiercely against a certain kind of immigrant.
“We’ve been living next to Islam and with Islam for 500 years and we know it’s not going to integrate,” government spokesman Zoltan Kovacs told me in an interview this week. “We treat it as a civilizational problem.”
According to Kovacs, Muslim immigrants create “parallel societies” in the European countries that receive them, and Hungarians want none of that. Indeed — though it may be the result of relentless government propaganda — according to a 2016 Pew Research study, 72 percent of Hungarians have a negative view of Muslims in their country, compared with the EU average of 43 percent.
Sounding exasperated Bloomberg writer Bershidsky opines as he wraps up with this:
The best other European countries can do is demonstrate that Muslim immigrants can be successfully integrated to society’s benefit. It’s a long game, but if it goes well, hard evidence will eventually convince those who don’t understand yet that, unaided, Europe’s aging demographics are unsustainable.
And, my response: what if Muslim integration doesn’t go well elsewhere in Europe (it doesn’t show promise now!)? It is a big IF!
And, frankly given a choice of dying via an aging proud Hungarian population and dying by becoming a Muslim/Sharia dominant country, I would take the former over the latter. Wouldn’t you!

UN Ambassador Haley: Most Syrians just want to go home
Clearly The Guardian doesn’t want to hear that bit of information.
Frankly, if there weren’t nine federal refugee contractors being paid on a per refugee head basis to bring refugees to your towns and cities, maybe then a realistic policy could be advanced to care for (legitimate) refugees near their homes so that returning them to their homes and to their familiar cultures would be the number one priority of humanitarian care.
Perhaps if this pattern could be broken now—Middle East wars=flow of migrants to the West—it would be a very important legacy for Trump to leave us with.
Here Nikki Haley says what the No Borders Left never wants to hear:
Donald Trump’s ambassador to the United Nations on Sunday defended the president’s ban on allowing Syrian refugees into the US by claiming that people displaced due to the country’s civil war did not actually want to leave the region.
When asked how she justified the Trump administration admitting almost no Syrian refugees while also bombing Assad regime targets in the country, Nikki Haley cited conversations she said she had had with refugees at camps in Jordan and Turkey.
“Not one of the many that I talked to ever said we want to go to America,” Haley said on Fox News Sunday. “They want to stay as close to Syria as they can.”

In a related story at Hurriyet we see that the bloom is off the rose as Germany begins restricting family members (limiting chain migration!):
Syrians leaving Germany to return to Turkey
A growing number of Syrian refugees in Germany are seeking to return to Turkey as a new German legislation has introduced new barriers to family reunification, local media reported on April 12.

The German government recently imposed stricter measures to curb family reunification for Syrian refugees, many of whom were granted “subsidiary protection.”
German broadcaster ARD reported that its correspondents documented the journey of several Syrian refugees who sought to return to Turkey by paying hundreds of euros to human smugglers.
The refugees wanted to return to Turkey because they could not receive permission from German authorities to bring their family members who had fled to Turkey after the Syrian civil war broke out, the report said.
The EU’s largest economy has accepted more than 700,000 Syrian refugees since 2015, but amid domestic political pressure, Chancellor Angela Merkel’s coalition government introduced barriers to family reunification. A cap of 1,000 people per month was imposed on who could come to Germany for family reunification.
Dear Mr. President, Invite the victorious Orban to the White House
Yesterday Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban won for Europe (although most countries don’t know it) an astounding election victory for Western Civilization.
If President Trump wanted to put icing on his recent immigration control cake, he should invite Orban to the White House and give him a lavish state dinner. Such a move would turn the whole world on its head!
Heck, use the occasion to kick start a discussion about dumping the 1951 UN Refugee Convention. (See here.)
There are many stories about Orban’s win, but Politico is a good choice to quote since they can’t control their animus (in supposed news reporting!) toward the man and what he stands for!
Orbán wins landslide to secure third straight term
BUDAPEST — Viktor Orbán’s right-wing Fidesz party won a landslide victory in Hungary’s general election on Sunday, setting the stage for the prime minister to pursue his nationalistic vision and fight more battles with Brussels.
The result gives Orbán a third consecutive term as prime minister and a strong platform from which to further rail against migrants and Muslims, stage crackdowns on NGOs and mount strong resistance to greater EU integration.
More clashes between Budapest and EU institutions, particularly the European Commission and European Parliament, look assured. Orbán opposed a Commission plan to distribute migrants around the bloc while the Parliament has voted to put Hungary on a path toward censure for backsliding on democratic standards.
The election result will also likely embolden far-right parties and populists across Europe inspired by Orbán.
Orbán, who built a fence on Hungary’s southern border during the 2015 migration crisis, constructed his election campaign around strong a strong nationalist and anti-migrant message. The U.N. human rights chief earlier this year branded him a racist.
It really came down to one issue—immigration. Are you listening Donald?
But a senior Fidesz official said the anti-migrant message was key. “It is simply the fear of migrants. Fidesz did a single-issue campaign and it was successful,” said the official, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Refugee contractor Miliband needs to decide….
Is David Miliband going back to the UK, or is he staying in Manhattan to collect an exorbitant salary to manage the largest (financially) refugee resettlement agency in the US? When I see news like this, I wonder.
***Update*** See this amusing bit at the Daily Mail calling Miliband the “king over the water…”
Maybe what he is really doing is waiting to jump back across the pond when something has been firmed-up there for him.
After all, the US resettlement program is experiencing tough times with fewer refugees, staff layoffs, head honchos bailing out, and even the possibility that the gang of nine will lose one whole agency this year.
(See Lutheran CEO—gone, and USCRI CEO—gone. )
And, there appears to be no hope for return of the good-old-days on the horizon based on what we are hearing out of the Trump Administration.
Here is the Financial Times on Miliband:
Labour fury and derision at prospect of new centrist party
David Miliband, the former Labour foreign secretary who some centrists see as a potential leader, dipped a toe back into domestic politics last week when he called for a second Brexit referendum. “The threats to peace around the world are more acute than ever,” Mr Miliband wrote in the New Statesman.
As a pal of Soros, the Clintons, Samantha Power and Obama, I don’t know how anyone would call Miliband a centrist!
And, since we pay him nearly $700,000 a year to run the International Rescue Committee, doesn’t he have enough to do without dipping toes in UK politics?
See my archive on ‘Moneybags’ Miliband here.
In some ways I’ll be sad to see him go because he is fun to write about. Just 5 days ago I told you he was trash-talking Europe and saying countries there need to take more refugees.
