Syrian Muslims headed to North Dakota, Nebraska and Kentucky

Kentucky refugee contractor:  I think it’s time that all those Arabs we are bringing to Kentucky have their own newspaper!

Kentucky Refugee Ministries Executive Director John Koehlinger: Newspaper would “unify” Arab community in KY.

Unless you have been living in a cave over the last few months, you know that the US State Department is bringing about 10,000 Syrian, mostly Muslim, refugees (chosen by the UN) to the US in this fiscal year (2015 started on October 1, 2014).

Here are three news stories sent from several readers about where they will be going.

North Dakota from the Jamestown Sun:

Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota and its community partners, which include schools, medical facilities, law enforcement, county and volunteer agencies and churches, are anticipating a shift in the ongoing resettling of refugees here.  [They are slowing the Bhutanese (Hindu) flow and switching to the Middle Easterners—ed]

The agency has recently resettled a number of people from Afghanistan, and is planning for refugees in the coming months from Syria and Iraq, who are escaping the terrorism threat of ISIS.

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) is projecting to place a total of about 400 refugees in North Dakota in fiscal year 2015, which began in October.

Laetitia Mizero, program director and state refugee coordinator at LSS, said 260 will settle in the Fargo area, about 95 in Grand Forks and 45 in Bismarck.

In fiscal year 2014, LSS placed 500 refugees statewide, a larger number than usual.

This next bit is really informative, and is something every community “welcoming” refugees should be paying attention to.  Once they get a “seed community” started, they (the Lutherans in this case) then are paid to process in the family members.

“Ninety-eight percent of individuals who’ve arrived over the past 12 months are joining family who are already here,” she said.

Nebraska from McCook Gazette:

LINCOLN, Neb. — At least four Nebraska agencies have pledged to help some of the thousands of refugees expected to come to America as a result of persecution and genocide in Syria.

Nebraska agencies pledging to help deal with the refugees include Lutheran Refugee Services of Lincoln, Lutheran Family Services, Catholic Social Services and the Southern Sudan Community Association.

Such refugees are eligible for a full range of public assistance programs swell as refugee assistance programs.

Kentucky from the Courier Journal (article about a new start-up Arab language newspaper):

Kentucky Refugee Ministries Executive Director John Koehlinger said Botan’s venture comes as Louisville agencies continue to resettle a large number of refugees from Iraq — a trend that started around 2008 — and prepare to aid the first refugees from Syria some time next year.

“Refugees have been coming from Iraq in large numbers for five years,” he said. “I think that the time is right for a newspaper for that community.”

About the photo and Kentucky Refugees Ministries.  In its most recent Form 990 KRM took in $4,703,422 from government contracts as part of a total revenue stream of $5,287,956 which means they are 89% funded by taxpayer dollars in a Wilson Fish state where the resettlement program is run by the federal government’s contractors (with no say by elected representatives of the state government of Kentucky).

When you visit that Form 990 be sure to check out the costs of running this ‘non-profit’ for salaries, office expenses, travel etc.

Canada: Iraqi woman lies on refugee application, leaves some kids behind, and now blames Canada for her troubles

Oh brother, every time you see a case like this one it further reminds us of the schemers involved in the refugee racket (and not just the refugees, but their ‘advocates’ as well).

From CBC News (hat tip: ‘Pungentpeppers’):

Suhailau Hussan is a grieving mother ensnared in a global phenomenon.

The “grieving” mother (right) didn’t tell authorities she was remarried with more kids! She wants them in Canada where taxpayers can take care of them all! Here is an option, they could all reunite in the Middle East!

She has a child in Lebanon, a country overflowing with refugees. Two others are in Iraq, too destitute to seek sanctuary. And two others are with her here in Winnipeg….but are facing deportation back to Syria.

“I need help from the government, I need help,” Hussan says in Arabic, through interpreter Ahlam Jasim. “I could be patient with everything, just if I know….my family safe. My children safe.”

This was not the happy-ever-after ending Hussan had in mind years ago back in Iraq, when the single mother applied to come here as a refugee. Eventually, Canada gave the request the green light. But it took years before she was finally able to come here. And by then, she’d remarried and had another child.

Fast forward to six months ago.

Hussan arrived in Toronto with two of her children. There, immigration officials learn about the marriage, and that her husband and child are waiting to join her from Lebanon. That’s when they put her case in a holding pattern, and that’s why she may never be able to sponsor her remaining children to come here.

The problem? In the minds of immigration officials, because Hussan did not disclose the changes in her family, meaning her marriage and new son, she misrepresented her case to authorities.

And according to Regulation 117 (9) (d) of our immigration act, if someone misrepresents their case, they cannot sponsor their remaining family members, especially those who were “not examined by an immigration officer, when the sponsor came to Canada.”

And the consequences could be permanent.

Even if Hussan avoids deportation, this could be a lifetime ban on family reunification, whether her oversight was intentional or accidental.

“We’ve been very, very concerned about people who are in this situation,” says Janet Dench, Executive Director of the Canadian Council for Refugees.

“And particularly the children that are affected by this, who are abandoned overseas by the desire of the immigration rules to punish a parent failure to report.”

They were abandoned by mom!

Why is this the Canadian taxpayers’ responsibility now?

Two months of fiscal year 2015 are now behind us and the US State Department and its contractors are off and running with a surprising number of refugees resettled so far.

These were the top 5 states in FY2014. Right now Arizona is edging out Florida and Michigan has moved to number 3.

According to the statistics kept at the Refugee Processing Center, Iraqis top the list.  Here are the Top Five countries of origin for refugees arriving in the US in October and November 2014 (the 2015 fiscal year began Oct. 1):

Iraqis:  3,367

Burmese:  2,530

Somalis:  1,856

Congolese:  1,004

Bhutanese:  870

The Syrian push is not on yet we see. Only 112 have come so far this year.

We then checked out any state that received more than 400 refugees in two months (which is a lot when supplying them with their welfare needs), and here they are:

Texas:   1,386

California:  997

Michigan:  585

New York:  584

Arizona:  564

Florida:  530

Washington:  529

Ohio:  514

Illinois:  475

Minnesota:  435

Georgia: 435

North Carolina:  434

Pennsylvania:  433

If you are wondering which nationalities have arrived in your state, you are out of luck because the State Department has removed the data base that tells us that.  Instead they have a completely useless data base that only tells us the ‘processing country’ from which your state’s refugees arrived.

Well, maybe I shouldn’t call it completely useless because it does give us some bits of information to ponder. For example, we learn that we took another 116 of Malta’s illegal aliens off their hands (probably Somalis).   466 came to the US from South Africa (the safe Rainbow Nation country), so who were they?  I noticed a bunch (79) of those South African “refugees” went to Minnesota.

I was interested to see we processed 1,070 from Turkey and a whopping 1,504 from Malaysia (who were they, illegal aliens trying to reach Australia?).  And we helped out the United Arab Emirates by taking 45 “refugees” off their hands.

First month of FY2015, Iraqis top the list of refugees resettled by US State Department

The Refugee Processing Center is the keeper of the US State Department’s statistics on refugees arriving in the US. I am asked all the time, do they keep records of religions, and the answer is yes, but those stats are not available to the general public. Only special people have that access. http://www.wrapsnet.org/

October 31st marked the end of the first month of Fiscal Year 2015.  You can have a look at which refugees the US State Department has admitted in those 31 days by clicking here.

Topping the list is Iraq with 1,790 Iraqis going to your towns and cities.

The next five after Iraq are as follows:

Burma:  1,240

Somalia:  871

DR Congo:  625

Bhutan:  370

Iran:  309

And, so far 51 Syrians entered the US in this fiscal year.

By the way, do you see the table listed here entitled: Arrivals by State and Country (Posted after the 5th of the following month).  It is virtually useless to you because the refugees’ nationalities are not given, only the processing country.  So if you look at Minnesota for instance, you can be sure MN got some of those Somalis, but Somalia isn’t listed.  Much to my surprise South Africa is listed! 

WTH, surely we aren’t bringing persecuted white South Africans, but I will bet you a buck we are bringing some of the unwanted Somalis from the RAINBOW NATION!  48 went to Minnesota in just the last month!  So much for South Africa’s image as a welcoming country!

Just one more example of how the State Department keeps information from the general public:  there previously was a data table available for which refugees went to which CITIES, but that is no longer listed as available to you (or me).  You can be sure they have that information!

Remember Obama is shooting for 70,000 total refugees for the year, but dissatisfied resettlement contractors, like the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, are looking for 100,000.

Just when I thought I had found some real Christian charity helping refugees with private money

As our daily readers know, a big part of what we do is to expose the supposedly charitable Christian and Jewish groups which say they are driven to care for the “least of these among us” purely because it is a Godly thing to do. Then we find out they are doing their ‘charitable work’ by ripping off local, state and federal taxpayers.  Some of their ‘leaders’ are being paid handsomely (by you) to do it.

Adding insult to injury, they are bringing Muslim refugees to your towns and cities with your money.

World Help CEO Vernon Brewer. At least it appears that they help refugees where they are and aren’t paid to bring them to America. (As far as I can tell!)

So, this morning when I saw this news story from Virginia about a “Christian charity” called World Help, I said, wow!, this Christian charity is actually talking about saving Iraqi Christians by making dangerous trips to Iraq and helping them there.  I can’t see any mention of bringing more refugees to America.  Good!

Then I had a look at a recent IRS Form 990.

World Help (that year) was a $25 million a year operation.  Yes, it has some big salaries (not as big as some we have reported), but much to my surprise $8.7 million came to them in the form of “government grants.”   What is up with that?  For what?  I don’t know and don’t have the time to research it.  All I know is there needs to be book (is there one?) that describes the “religious charity” racket!

It gets a little worse.  To acquire those government grants they hired an outfit called CMF Unlimited from Florida.  On their 2012 Form 990, WH reported paying them $131,250 to acquire taxpayer-funded grants.

Then at some point after filing that return…..

CMF Unlimited was blamed by World Help in 2012 for submitting fraudulent records that helped the charity get on Forbes list of top 100 charities (Forbes announced the “error.”)

Apparently it’s a dog-eat-dog world out there in the Christian charity business.

From Forbes:

Calling itself a victim of “fraudulent documents,” World Help said today that the actual value of donated medical goods it received during 2011 was less than half the $227 million listed in its filing with the Internal Revenue Service. The large Forest, Va.-based Christian international-aid charity said it would soon file an amended tax return listing only about $100 million in gifts. That means that just a few months ago World Help filed a tax return claiming nearly twice the donations of goods for 2011 than it actually received.

“We are self-reporting this,” World Help president and CEO Vernon Brewer told Forbes. “It’s the right thing to do.” Without that added sum, World Help would not have made the latest Forbes roster of the country’s largest charities. “I feel so bad you put us on your list,” he said.

Brewer said a paid consultant World Help hired to seek gift-in-kind contributions, as donated goods are called, obtained an allotment  of medical supplies from Direct Relief International, a Goleta, Calif. charity also on the Forbes list.  In shipping paperwork and on its own tax return, Direct Relief had valued the goods at $3.3 million.  Brewer said his charity received from the consultant the same Direct Relief shipping paperwork–except that, according to World Help’s 2011 tax return,  it valued the goods at $100 million–a 3,o00% markup. “The values had been whited out and new numbers put in,” Brewer said. “We got fraudulent documents. A couple of zeros were added.”

World Help’s publicly filed tax return identified the consultant as CMF Unlimited Inc., based in the Fort Lauderdale area. Florida corporate records say its owner is Clifford M. Feldman. Brewer said Feldman has not returned any of his recent phone calls seeking an explanation. Voicemail messages seeking comment that Forbes left Wednesday for Feldman also were not returned.

In California, Direct Relief CEO Thomas Tighe said Wednesday he was “deeply concerned” when he learned that his charity’s modest $3.3 million donation had morphed into a reported $100 million donation still bearing his organization’s name on the paperwork. Of World Help, he said, “There was clearly a mistake that was made on their part.”

Someone needs to write a book (maybe there is one) on The Religious Refugee Charity Racket in America.   Hey!  There is a title right there!
