17 more of Australia’s rejected asylum seekers on the way to your US town

Sorry Trumpsters but I gotta call it the way I see it—Trump was foolish to agree to Obama’s “dumb” deal (to move up to 1,250 illegal aliens that Australia had sent to detention camps and refused to admit to their mainland) to America as legitimate refugees.

Refugees receive all sorts of welfare goodies and their hands are held through the process of signing them up for those benefits by a resettlement contractor.  Then they are free to roam anywhere in America.

Seventeen more single young men (likely all Muslims)—Pakistanis and Rohingya—just left for Yourtown, USA.

Meet your new neighbors!

Manus Island detainees!  17 more are coming to a town near you!  But, the State Department will not reveal where they are located, and eventually they will lose track of them!

Why were they in detention on offshore islands in the first place?

About five years ago, the Australian government had a brilliant idea of how to deter illegal boat migration to their country.  They made it a policy that anyone trying to break in illegally by boat would be sent to detention and never allowed access to the mainland.

The deterrent worked (too bad the Europeans were too foolish to follow the Aussie lead!) and they have severely limited the number of illegal border jumpers.

However great for them, it stinks for us since the Trump Administration is now bringing those illegals to America and we (citizens!) are not being told where they are being placed.

Here is news on the latest shipment, bringing the number we have ‘welcomed’ to 361!

Yesterday, from 9 News Australia:

Seventeen refugees flown from Manus to US

Seventeen single men being held on Manus Island have flown to the United States under a refugee resettlement deal with Australia.

The 11 Pakistanis and six Rohingyans*** flew out of Port Moresby on Tuesday after almost five years in immigration detention.

Since the US won’t take Somalis, Iraqis and Syrians from the island detention camps, Refugee Action Coalition’s Ian Rintoul, calls the transport to the US a failure.

Their departure takes to 147 the number of refugees who have departed Papua New Guinea to start new lives in America.

Another 214 refugees have been taken from Nauru.

The US has promised to accept up to 1250 people under the refugee deal, but advocates are concerned there are still about 600 detainees being held on Manus Island and another 800 on Nauru.

Advocates are also concerned US officials will not accept Iranians, Somali, Sudanese, Iraqi or Syrian refugees for resettlement because of President Donald Trump’s so-called “Muslim ban” on immigration.

When we bring Muslim Pakistanis, Afghans, and Rohingya, it is not a “Muslim ban.”

Just great isn’t it! More single men who have been held in all male detention for 5 years are now free in America!

Go here for a lengthy archive on the dumb Obama deal.

***I have a whole category here at RRW called Rohingya Reports.  I have over 200 posts there and have followed the Burma/Bangladesh Rohingya situation for ten years.  Early on when we brought Rohingya to America, the US State Department said we were bringing only women and children.  I wondered when the men would follow—now it seems hubbies are on the way!

Ronald Reagan was NOT responsible for Refugee Act of 1980; fake news from The Salt Lake Trib

No wonder people can’t trust the big print media anymore.
Don’t mainstream media outlets have some responsibility to fact check letters to the editor or can anyone just make up ‘facts’ from history, that are very easy to check, and just throw them out there for the gullible public?

esar met head shot
I looked for a photo of Eric Goldman, but there are too many political activists with that name, but heck, why not illustrate this story with this refugee convicted murderer from Burma resettled in Utah by Catholic Charities or the International Rescue Committee.

Before I get to the letter from someone named Eric Goldman, let me say that there was a time that I wrote in glowing terms about the reporting from The Salt Lake Tribune and that was when they did super reporting on the horrific rape and murder of Hser Ner Moo, a little Christian Burmese refugee, by a fellow refugee from Burma (a likely Rohingya) named Esar Met.
The Salt Lake Tribune actually sent a reporter to the camps in Thailand to get the full story.  But, that was before the Mormon church had drunk the koolaide on the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program and began enthusiastically welcoming refugees of all stripes to Utah.
Click here for all of my posts on this Utah murder case that was never thoroughly reported on a national level, but see what a good job the Trib did in its coverage.
(I think it was never widely reported because Esar Met didn’t fit the media image of a refugee—lovable, grateful and hardworking.)
Now back to my beef today with The Salt Lake Tribune…..

Facebook on the hunt to remove nationalist Burmese patriot monks from their platform

Burma is a Buddhist country and the Buddhists want to keep it that way.
That is the long and short of the battle between nationalist patriot monks and the Rohingya Muslim minority that has been increasingly aggressive in pushing for what they see as their rights.

monks in Burma
Angry monks fighting for their country and their religion!

Of course, the global Left is on the side of the Rohingya and therefore so is Facebook!
I’ve been following the Rohingya controversy for over ten years and the Rohingya are far from being pure as the driven snow having instigated many of the violent conflicts between the government and themselves which has played out in rural villages, but you would never know that to hear the mainstream media spine.
So now we learn that Facebook is hunting for monks on their platform in order to silence them and keep them from going around the biased media with their side of the story.

Burma (aka Myanmar) is far away. Why should Americans care?

Under Trump, Muslim refugees from Burma (Rohingya) are numero uno

I told you the other day that we had a slight increase in the number of refugees entering the US in the month of May.  The number is still way below what the refugee contractors*** need to assure that their federally funded budgets are flush with your involuntary contributions via Washington.
Today I checked Wrapsnet (FY18 data) for the Muslim refugee numbers and learned this:
The percentage of Muslims entering as refugees is way down compared to Bush and Obama years.  It now stands at 15% when it was approaching 50% under Barack Hussein Obama.
(Total admissions so far 14,321 and 2,184 are listed as Muslims of some sect or another.)
But….

See my Rohingya Reports category with 224 previous posts:   https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/category/rohingya-reports/

…much to my surprise I see that Burmese Muslims (Rohingya) top the list!

Organization of Islamic Cooperation wants international pressure on Burma over Rohingya Muslims

My first thought when I saw this news, that the OIC was again ginning up a PR campaign to paint the Burma (Myanmar) Buddhist government as a bunch of Islamophobes and human right abusers, was this:
So why aren’t any of you big mouth countries displaying Muslim charity and inviting Rohingya to live in your countries?
Where are you Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE?

no-oic
No fear! Burmese monks marched against the OIC in 2012:   http://www.buddhistchannel.tv/index.php?id=51,11144,0,0,1,0#.WvQvj4gvw2w

Readers DO NOT FORGET!  The US has invited 14,882 Rohingya in the last ten years to live in your towns.  And, they are still arriving now even under the Trump Administration.
But, they are not being “welcomed” in to rich Muslim countries!
