North Dakota: County Commissioner Takes Lutheran Resettlement Agency to Task

I reported here in December that Burleigh County commissioners held a couple of contentious meetings on the question of whether the county would continue receiving refugees under the President’s new reform plan.

Although their decision was not exactly overwhelming, the fact that this county commission actually held a hearing to take the pulse of the community is very significant. All across the country governors and local elected officials are deciding behind closed doors. Demand public hearings!

Lutheran Social Services recently reported to the commissioners that all was quiet and few refugees were arriving.

The headline from the Bismarck Tribune focuses on that.

However, read on.

Commissioner Brian Bitner does something rarely seen when the subject of the financial impact refugees have on the community comes up—he called out Lutheran Social Services for providing deceptive information.

See who produced that information….

From the Bismarck Tribune:

New refugee family won’t count toward cap; Bitner criticizes provided information

http://research.newamericaneconomy.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/nae-nd-report.pdf

Commissioner Brian Bitner, who voted against refugee resettlement, on Wednesday criticized Lutheran Social Services for including information that he said wasn’t appropriate in its proposal to continue resettling refugees.

In its application to the county, Lutheran Social Services included a 2017-18 study from the state Legislature’s Human Services Committee that cited a report provided by New American Economy, a New York-based immigration research nonprofit, in a section on the “Benefits of Refugee Resettlement.” Despite the title, the section cited data on “New Americans” — a term that doesn’t mean just refugees.

Bloomberg’s big bucks buy glossy studies and the media falls for it!

This is Michael Bloomberg’s baby! He wants cheap labor for fat cats!

For readers who do not follow my other blog, ‘Frauds and Crooks’ you need to know that the New American Economy is Michael Bloomberg‘s plan for American immigration.

He and his cohorts have been spreading their Open Borders propaganda for ten years, so you can’t trust his numbers to begin with!

This is what the Left (and rich RINO Rs) do, they publish glossy studies and everyone, including the gullible media, never questions it.

It sure looks like one county commissioner isn’t fooled!

The Bismarck Tribune continues….

“Except where otherwise noted, we define an immigrant as anyone born outside the country to non-U.S. citizen parents who is a resident in the United States,” Nan Wu, New American Economy Deputy Director of Qualitative Research, said in an email about her group’s report. “This includes naturalized citizens, green card holders, temporary visa holders, refugees, asylees, and undocumented immigrants, among others. So refugees are included when we refer to “New Americans” or immigrants in the report.”

The section said “New Americans” in North Dakota paid $36.4 million in state and local taxes, $66.9 million in Social Security taxes and $16.2 million in Medicare taxes, and earned $559.6 million of income.

“The information regarding benefits of that was not information that was relative to refugees, it was information that was pertinent to foreign-born individuals,” Bitner said. “And so I (studied) the source of the information to find out it was census data that they used.”

He added: “And in the census data they were clear that it wasn’t possible to separate out any of the categories of immigration from that information. So the refugee information that was provided to us was not refugee information.”

County Commissioner recall.

I never did get a chance to post on it, but this is interesting news about a recall effort going on in Burleigh County.

(Updated) In Response to Lobbying by Refugee Activists, Arizona Senate says ‘Welcome Refugees’

***Update***

A reliable source is reporting that the news about the passage of this resolution is fake news!

SB1341 is a Dem bill and never got a hearing and won’t–https://apps.azleg.gov/BillStatus/BillOverview/73599
SCR 1024 is dead, dead, dead!  Another from the Dems–https://apps.azleg.gov/BillStatus/BillOverview/73599

However, the information about the lobbying effort and ‘We are All America’ is not.

The pro-refugee lobby day effort was organized by ‘We are all America’ a subsidiary of the National Partnership for New Americans.

We are all America’splatform is here (they have not updated their refugee section obviously) and is focusing on the following states with their lobbying campaign:  Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Tennessee and Texas.

I’m posting this news to show readers how organized the open borders left is.

Frankly, those of us concerned about too much immigration to America have nothing like this.

Republican Governor Ducey: Yes please! More refugees for Arizona!

Arizona sure looks like it is on the cusp of turning blue.

Recently the Republican governor was one of the first Republican governors out of the chute to oppose the President’s efforts to slow the refugee program and now the Republican Senate backs him because a bunch of refugee lobbyists descended on them (and because the Rs want the steady supply of cheap labor for their business pals.)

See my post on Ducey here…

Arizona: Republican Governor Ducey Says Arizona Wants MORE Impoverished Refugees

From Cronkite News:

Pro-refugee resolution passes Arizona Senate after push from local activists

PHOENIX – As a Somali refugee and determined activist, Naruro Hassan is used to other people speaking on behalf of the refugee community.

Naruro Hassan

Yet she was finally able to make her own voice heard Feb. 10, when a group of more than 50 lobbyists for refugee rights joined her at the Arizona Capitol to attend legislative meetings and speak to senators one-on-one.

By day’s end, the Senate unanimously passed a pro-refugee resolution expressing gratitude for refugee contributions within the state. It’s waiting on a vote by the House.

[….]

The We Are All America coalition, which works to empower and support the refugee community across the country, organized Refugee Lobbying Day, an event meant to empower refugees in the community, make their voices heard on the topic of resettlement and encourage state legislatures to pass pro-refugee legislation.

The gang is all here, including CAIR!

We Are All America was joined by other organizations, including the Council on American Islamic Relations, Somali United, the International Rescue Committee of Phoenix, Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest and Arizona Jews for Justice.

Continue here.

I have no clue who is bankrolling ‘We are All America‘, but no surprise that two of the nine major refugee resettlement contractors that receive your tax dollars were in the mix.

Syrian Refugee Shot/Killed by Thug in “Safe” Baltimore

It was only a matter of time.

Crime-ridden Baltimore is for some strange reason a desirable resettlement location for the do-gooder refugee resettlement contractors.

Message to the ‘humanitarians:’  Diversity does not bring strength to rotting American cities!

See many previous posts on Baltimore here.  Baltimore mayors, Dems of course, have been yammering for years that they need more immigrants!

Here is one post in particular about the filthy rich International Rescue Committee touting Baltimore as a safe city for Syrian refugees.

And, see the one about how much diversity was poured into Baltimore and how angry blacks when rioting directed gangs to target Asian and Arab shops.

From the Baltimore Sun:

Police have posted a video of the man they believe is responsible for the killing. You can see it all in the Baltimore Sun article.

He fled Syria for Baltimore, finding friends and a job in his new home. Someone gunned him down as he delivered pizza.

Khaled Heeba fled the most dangerous place on earth in 2016, escaping Syria’s civil war with his parents to come to the United States for a better life. He settled in Baltimore.

He went to work delivering pizzas full time to help support himself and his parents, his co-workers and a family friend said.

Heeba’s American journey ended less than two weeks ago when someone gunned him down in broad daylight in Harlem Park — less than five minutes from the pizza shop where he’d worked since he got to Baltimore. The 31-year-old man was found in the 1300 block of W. Franklin St. around 1:15 p.m. Feb. 7 suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest. He died after being transported to a nearby hospital, police said.

Iowa: Refugee Contractors Happy to Supply Foreign Laborers for Globalist Corporations

There was a time, a decade ago, when an article like this would not have been written.

The image of a refugee resettlement agency was that of a purely humanitarian organization working with little funding solely to save the globe’s downtrodden with the help of generous volunteers.

Now they are right out in the open making it clear that they are working to help globalist companies like the big meatpackers that are changing America by changing the character of the heartland through a greedy desire for cheap migrant labor.

Let me be clear, Americans previously did work in the meat and poultry industry and would do so again if wages reflected the difficult work, but once the meat giants discovered what amounts to captive slave labor that doesn’t dare complain, can’t go home, and is willing to work for far less than Americans, there was no going back.

https://refugees.org/find-a-location/

Here we see the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) (see their finances here) shilling for Tyson Foods, for BIG MEAT!

Don’t miss: Bernie Sanders organized pork plant workers in Iowa for the recent presidential caucus as refugees and immigrants vote for Dems.

From The Perry News:

Pay attention!  If your town is getting a Tyson Foods plant, you WILL be getting third worlders of all stripes, changing the character of your town forever!

Trump’s latest immigration ban threatens Tyson labor pool

The latest anti-immigration proclamation by U.S. President Donald Trump could directly impact the ability of Tyson Fresh Meats in Perry to hire laborers.

Trump’s Jan. 31 executive order suspends immigrant visas for nationals of Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar and Nigeria starting Feb. 22. It will also restrict diversity visas for citizens of Sudan and Tanzania, according to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and U.S. State Department.

Refugees from Eritrea and Myanmar have been the most frequently hired workers at the Tyson’s Perry plant in recent years.

Alberto Olguin, human resources director at Tyson Fresh Meats, said he is unsure whether the latest immigration ban will have an effect in Perry.

“We do hire refugees,” Olguin said. “We hope this will not have any effect, but we will see. It’s hard to tell at this point. Maybe by March or April we will know more. It’s still early.”

Holy cow!  Look at these numbers!

Tyson is the largest employer of refugees in Dallas County. The company currently employs 1,368 workers at the Perry plant, and about 800 of the employees are refugees, with 400 each of Africans and Asians.

[….]

Annette Sheckler, director of communications for U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), said the Trump administration’s immigration policies are “selectively discriminatory” because they are based on the religions and nationalities of immigrants and refugees.

Since I couldn’t find a pic of Ms. Sheckler, the next best thing was to post a picture of USCRI’s CEO Eskinder Negash here having a pleasant meeting with Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib. Do Lefties like Tlaib approve of refugees as cheap labor for giant Captialist corporations? Apparently so! https://www.facebook.com/USCRI/posts/eskinder-negash-presidentceo-of-uscri-met-with-newly-elected-us-congresswoman-ra/10157287961981385/

“USCRI strongly opposes the administration’s alarming efforts to drastically cut immigration to the U.S.,” Sheckler said. She said Trump’s anti-immigration policy is harming employers around the country, and the latest ban will aggravate the condition.

“Definitely, it’s going to have an impact,” she said. “In many smaller communities around the country, and especially in industries like meat packing, which is kind of rough and dirty, American workers are not applying for jobs there.

It’s our new Americans, the refugees and immigrants, who are taking these jobs. Tyson’s has a huge workforce made up of Somalis, Eritreans and people from Myanmar, disproportionate to the number of people they hire.”

Heck, here USCRI’s Sheckler sounds like she is shilling for the Chamber of Commerce.

“We settle refugees in communities that are likely to have employment,” she said, “and certainly the agro-industry is one of these industries where there’s job openings. The communities want the labor. And then you’ve got a whole new community with many coming into the family. They’re buying cars. They’re buying houses. They’re buying groceries. They’re opening up little businesses. So communities are actually contacting us and asking us to settle refugees.”

[….]

Trump’s latest round of exclusions partly frustrated Iowa’s recently expressed state and local willingness to accept refugees for resettlement.

The states and localities know they need the workers, Sheckler said, but Trump’s immigration czar, Stephen Miller, has other ideas for America.

More here.

See my previous posts on meatpackers, and Tyson Foods.

Someone could write a modern day version of Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle using the dozens and dozens of posts I have archived over the years.

A starring role could go to the phony refugee racketeers!

Endnote: Another blogger recently used the phrase the “Slaughterhouse Nine” to describe the nine federal refugee resettlement contractors. I like that!

Europe: Landmark Case Confirms European Countries Can Stop Migrants Illegally Crossing Their Borders

Invasion of Europe news….

Too bad that this decision is at least ten years too late.  But maybe just in time.  Perhaps one of the primary driving forces that saw the UK vote to get out of the European Union was a desire to control their own borders.

And, when I say it might be just in time, when I saw this news from Gatestone this morning all I could think of was what the heck is Europe going to do if the Coronavirus spreads to Africa—will panic set in and will millions (more) try to make it to Europe where medical treatment would surely be better?

Here is Soeren Kern at Gatestone:

The case involved Africans breaking into Ceuta and Melilla, Spanish territory that joins Morocco.

Spain: European Court Approves Summary Deportations of Illegal Migrants

In a landmark decision that will have potentially seismic implications for immigration policy in Europe, the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has ruled that Spain acted lawfully when it summarily deported two migrants who illegally tried to enter Spanish territory.

Attempting to set foot on European soil, African migrants have been for years rushing the border fence between Morocco and Spanish territory.

The Strasbourg-based court — which has jurisdiction over 47 European countries, and whose rulings are binding on all 27 member states of the European Union — ruled that in order for migrants to benefit from certain human rights protections, such as access to lawyers, interpreters and the right to remain in Europe, they must first enter European territory in a legal, as opposed to an illegal, manner.

The ruling, which effectively authorizes European governments summarily to deport illegal migrants immediately at the border, transfers some decision-making powers on immigration back to European nation states.

The ruling is being viewed as a major victory for those who believe that sovereign nation states have the right to decide who is and is not allowed to enter their territory.

Continue reading here especially to see that the human rights industry is not happy.

Coronavirus as a driver of mass migration?

I’ve been thinking about this in recent days so this is a good time to mention it.  What happens if (when) the Coronavirus reaches Africa (beyond Egypt), will panic set in? Will there be a rush to find better medical care?

See where it is this week (and notice that it is not contained to only cold places of the world, since it is hot in Australia at the moment).
