Number of Unaccompanied Alien Teens Entering US Hits Highest Levels in History

That is what the Director of the Office of Refugee Resettlement Jonathan Hayes told Congress this week.

The ‘children’ coming to America by train through Mexico in 2016!

Actually he calls them “unaccompanied alien children,” but heck when only 15% of the “children” crossing the border illegally without parents are under 12-years-old, we might just as well call them more accurately “teens.”  (See data here.)

Virtually all of them are from three countries: Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador.

And, caring for the ‘children’ is costing American taxpayers well over a billion a year!

Here is CNS News,

(CNSNews.com) – The number of unaccompanied children (UACs) entering the United States during fiscal year 2019 has grown to levels never seen before, Jonathan Hayes, director of the HHS’s Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), told Congress on Thursday.

According to his written testimony before the House Energy and Commerce Committee, DHS referred more than 67,000 UACs to ORR as of Sept. 16, 2019, which is the highest number in the program’s history.

Compare that to the 59,170 DHS referrals in FY 2016, the second highest number of referrals on record.

At the moment, HHS has less than 6,000 UACs in its care, but the number fluctuates on a daily basis, Hayes said.

“The number of children in our care is down from a recent high of over 13,700 just a few months ago in June. This decline is due to a decrease in daily referrals over the last few months, and ORR’s ability to maintain a steady high discharge rate of UAC placement with sponsors,” he testified.

Curious about where they have placed tens of thousands of teenagers, I checked the data and here are some fun facts.

Top recipient states of alien (mostly) teens for the first ten months of FY19 are:

(States which ‘welcomed’ over 3,000 in ten months!)

Texas (8,521)

California (7,302)

Florida (6,659)

New York (5,439)

Maryland (4,102)

Virginia (3,645)

New Jersey (3,644)

More here.

When you visit that data add up the last 6 years for your state to see the real impact these “children” must be having on your school systems.  Maryland, for example, added 18,330 UACs since October 2013!

Now have a look at the lucky counties during that same time period (here):

Harris Co. Tx (4,346)

LA County, CA (3,057)

Miami Dade Co. FL (1,528)

Palm Beach Co. FL (1,395)

Prince Georges Co. MD (1,372)

Dallas Co. TX (1,323)

Suffolk Co. NY (1,293)

Fairfax Co. VA (1,134)

Montgomery Co. MD (1,015)

More here.

By the way, when I first started writing about these new ‘refugees’ they were referred to as ‘unaccompanied minors’ so that is the tag I have continued to use.

Flash! Michigan Has Run Out of Poor Americans! Lutherans Building Special Housing for Refugees

“Samaritas is incredibly excited to be partnering with Wayne County and Wayne Metro for this important project that will create opportunities for affordable transitional housing for the New Americans families in our care.”

(Samaritas CEO Sam Beals)

This must be Michigan day for me.  Earlier at ‘Frauds and Crooks’ I wrote about all of the ‘new American’ doctors going to prison there for ripping off taxpayers and fueling the Opioid Crisis!

Now comes news that Wayne County (of course!) is building housing to accommodate impoverished refugees in partnership with Samaritas. What! All low income Americans in Wayne County have homes!

And, it won’t cost the county a dime because the money is coming via Washington, DC’s famous money tree—-you and me!

Hamtramck’s federally funded Freedom Village will be right here!

From The Detroit News:

Freedom Village, a safe haven for refugees, planned in Hamtramck

Hamtramck — Wayne County is working to aid refugees fleeing their war-torn countries for new lives in Michigan with a safe haven they are calling Freedom Village, officials announced Monday.

The county is partnering with Wayne Metropolitan Community Action Agency, Samaritas and the city of Hamtramck to create the resettlement designed to provide refugees and immigrants with transitional affordable housing.

Construction of three two-family homes to house six families on Faber in Hamtramck is underway and is expected to be completed by summer 2020, county officials said.

The program was created to provide a better life to low-income refugees and immigrants by surrounding them with resources to eventually pursue permanent homeownership opportunities, Wayne County Executive Warren Evans said.

“We are a welcoming county that derives its strength from the diversity of its residents, and this project epitomizes that core value,” Evans said in a statement.

The Hamtramck project will develop newly constructed, affordable houses on Wayne County Land Bank-owned parcels in the city.

After the parcels are cleared, Wayne County will assemble the properties for the Hamtramck Refugee Resettlement project.

Under the agreement, the new construction will be at no cost to the city of Hamtramck. It will increase the taxable value of the vacant lots, bringing them back onto the tax rolls and contributing revenue to the city, officials said.

Wayne County Metropolitan Community Action Agency will serve as the property developer and owner, and Samaritas, a resettlement agency, will place refugees and provide further services.

Those darn Lutherans in the housing business (again)!  You need to know that Lutheran Social Services of Michigan rebranded and became Samaritas in 2016.  See my post:

Lutheran Social Services of Michigan, rebrands, no longer wants to be tagged as Lutheran

Earlier LSS got into some housing hanky-panky here.

CEO Beals is doing well by doing good. See Samaritas IRS Form 990. Beals is making over $300,000 a year working for the Lutheran ‘charity.’ https://pdf.guidestar.org/PDF_Images/2017/381/360/2017-381360553-0fe410b2-9.pdf

Back to the Detroit News,

CEO Sam Beals said Samaritas, which has helped resettle families in Michigan for 70 years, couldn’t be more excited for the unique partnership.

“Samaritas is incredibly excited to be partnering with Wayne County and Wayne Metro for this important project that will create opportunities for affordable transitional housing for the New Americans families in our care,” Beals said. “Having beautiful builds like this one, appropriately called Freedom Village, in Hamtramck is much needed and a great location for this project as a welcoming city in metro Detroit.”

[….]

More than 600,000 foreign-born individuals live in Michigan, and of that, more than 70% live in southeast Michigan, according to the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan.

[….]

County officials did not disclose the cost of the program but said it’s being funded with federal housing dollars through Wayne County HOME Investment Partnerships Program, a federal grant program through the U.S. Department of Housing and Development.

Samaritas is a $100 Million a year operation and received over $30 million in taxpayer funded grants in one recent year. Now they are in the federal housing business.  Hmmmm!

Irish Open Borders Activists Want Ireland to Send the Navy to the Med to Pick up More Migrants

Invasion of Europe news…..

This is one of my favorite areas on which to report—the great replacement going on in Europe.

It isn’t my favorite because I enjoy writing about it, but I think it is vitally important for Americans to watch Europe as a warning to us.

Here we learn that Irish ‘humanitarians’ are pushing for Ireland to take in more Africans, Asians, and Middle Easterners.

Gotta fill those mosques! http://soerenkern.com/2013/04/02/ireland-mega-mosque/

And, they want the Irish Navy to pick up even more illegal aliens crossing the Mediterranean.  But, of course they are not offering to take in the astronomical number of migrants they have already ‘saved’ —18,000!

Presumably Italy, Malta, Spain and Greece can have those?

From the Irish Examiner,

Refugee Intake Should Double

Ireland should more than double its annual intake of refugees over the coming three years to meet its “fair share” of the projected global refugee resettlement need, a migrant umbrella group has said.

The Irish Refugee and Migrant Coalition said Ireland had taken in almost 2,600 people under the Irish Refugee Protection Programme (IRPP) in the four years since September 2015, averaging at 650 people per year.

The coalition, involving more than 20 organisations, said the UN Refugee Agency had estimated that 1.44 million people will be in need of resettlement in 2020.

Nick Henderson: Send the Irish Navy to the Mediterranean to rescue migrants!

The group said that this month was the deadline for Ireland to announce the number of resettlement places it is committing to over the next two years.

The coalition recommended Ireland commit to at least 1,500 resettlement places annually over 2020-2022.

It also called on Ireland, through the Irish Naval Service, to lead in a new Mediterranean search and rescue mission.

[….]

Nick Henderson of the Irish Refugee Council called on Ireland to lead a new search and rescue mission in the Med, adding that the Irish Naval Service had rescued more than 18,000 people.

Ho hum! Rainbow Nation Myth Implodes! More Xenophobic Attacks by South African Blacks

One of the reasons I am glad to be back with a functioning Refugee Resettlement Watch blog is that I can continue to post on some subjects that have long interested me and this is one:

Michelle Obama fawned over Nelson Mandela (the father of the Rainbow Nation) in 2011. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg also famously praised the nation of South Africa and its Socialist constitution.

South Africa, the “Rainbow Nation,” so celebrated by communists and the international Left, has been busy demonstrating the tribal nature of black South Africans—heck, they don’t like the whites in S. Africa, but they hate other Africans too!

(See dozens of previous posts on South Africa here.)

You can’t call it racism as South African blacks attack black African foreigners, so the word ‘xenophobia’ fits the bill!

The reports are so numerous this week that I couldn’t pick one to snip.

Black on Black violence erupts again in South Africa!

Here are some headlines:

From CNN:

Xenophobia has reared its ugly head again in the Rainbow Nation. African nations have had enough

From the New York Times:

South African Riots Over ‘Xenophobia’ Prompt Backlash Across

From Time magazine:

What the Xenophobic Violence Gripping South Africa Means for Future of Country

Just so you know, we are taking some of those ‘foreigners’ (the ones that South African blacks hate) as refugees to America!

Do you remember a year or so ago when there was much talk from the White House that we might take some South African white farmers (some have been attacked and killed by the blacks who want their farmland).

I checked the data just now and see that in the first ten months of this fiscal year we admitted 46 ‘refugees’ from South Africa.  When I checked another data base at the Refugee Processing Center I learned that we took ZERO South Africans.  Therefore those 46 had to be other migrants originally from other African countries that were being persecuted by black South Africans.

Bottomline, white South Africans in the ‘Rainbow Nation’ are not being protected by the UN and the US Refugee Admissions Program while black Africans are!

South Africa’s xenophobia is thus creating more refugees for taxpaying Americans to support!

Bosnian Refugees Bail Out of St. Louis

The refugee industry is everywhere these days claiming that one of the most important reasons to import hundreds of thousands of refugees is that they revitalize crumbling cities.

We need refugees to save dying cities!

In fact,. as I write this US refugee resettlement contractors, hoping to pressure Donald Trump to set a high ceiling for refugee admissions for FY2020 (which begins October 1 of this year), are hammering the big lie—refugees save dying cities.

Bashing Trump….

Here is just one example, the Washington Post recently published an opinion piece by two leaders of World Relief (one of nine federally-funded refugee contractors) claiming just that and saying the Trump is hurting cities by reducing the numbers of impoverished refugees being admitted to the US.

But, get this, the New York Times ,in an extensive expose in August, tells us that yes, Bill Clinton’s Bosnians did bring some economic revitalization to St. Louis, but it didn’t last.  The primary reason for the unfolding failure—Democrat-run cities are crime infested.  (There has been no Republican mayor in St. Louis since 1949.)

The New York Times:

‘It’s Not the Same’: Why War Refugees Who Helped Revive St. Louis Are Leaving

[Article opens with some economic success stories.  BTW, a large number of Bosnians are Muslims.]

For St. Louis, a city that had bled population for decades — it had about 400,000 residents in 1990, down from more than 800,000 in the 1950s — the influx of what was estimated to be the largest population of Bosnians outside Bosnia seemed to work magic. For the first time in generations, the urban narrative of abandoned houses, stagnant business and vanishing people appeared to be changing.

But it didn’t last.

Today, St. Louis, like some other Midwestern cities, is battling a new round of contraction, with a stagnant economy, challenged schools and one of the highest murder rates in the country. And over the past few years, the people who fled brutal violence and concentration camps in their homeland and created Little Bosnia have been fleeing again, to the suburbs.

The beginning of the end for the Bosnian community of St. Louis and the melting pot myth was the murder of a Bosnian young man by a gang of thugs.  See my 2014 post about the murder.

Black and Hispanic teens sentenced to long prison terms for Begic’s murder. The NYT never mentions who the killers were.

A deadly hammer attack in Bevo Mill — in which Zemir Begic, a young Bosnian man out with his fiancée, was killed by four teenagers — shook the community in 2014. Bosnians marched in the streets, arguing that the police had not done enough to keep the neighborhood safe.

[….]

Similar stories have been playing out in American cities since the Baby Boom decades of the 20th century, and have proven hard to reverse. After mass flights to the suburbs, even heavy investment in urban centers, with shiny new business districts and rapidly changing downtowns, have often failed to help cities, particularly in the Midwest, replace the residents they had lost.

In St. Louis the process has been particularly painful, because the people who were fleeing were the very ones who had been seen as saviors.

[….]

At its peak in the late 1990s and early 2000s, the Bosnian population, including American-born Bosnians, reached about 70,000 in the city of St. Louis and the surrounding county, according to the International Institute of St. Louis, a charitable agency that sponsors many of the region’s refugees. Now, with some Bosnians having left the state entirely, the agency estimates that the figure is less than 50,000.

The International Institute of St. Louis is a subcontractor of the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), but you can bet USCRI is still peddling the myth that refugees will save dying cities—maybe for a few years in the case of industrious Bosnians, but it won’t happen at all with extremely impoverished Africans.
