Culture of domestic violence comes to Lewiston, Maine along with African asylum seekers

A pregnant Angolan asylum seeker was run down and killed on a Lewiston street last week by her angry ex-fiance and so this story is all about how African women should speak up so that the police can protect them from the cultural norms they brought with them from Africa.

Frankly I am sick of stories about cultural conflicts and problems in Lewiston, Maine, the ‘Little Mogadishu’ of the Northeast.  So check it out yourselves (Portland Press Herald) titled:

I don’t think the debate should be about how African women should speak up, it should be about why we are inviting so many to the US from cultures that are so diametrically opposed to our culture in respect to women’s rights (and a whole lot of other things).

By the way, Maine has become the go-to state for asylum seekers because the state gives welfare to them while the feds only give welfare to successful asylum seekers who have been granted asylum and been declared a “refugee.”   Many of Maine’s would-be refugees arrive in the US illegally or overstay a visa, head to Maine, and then apply for asylum claiming they will be persecuted if sent home.

Baltimore: “Sponsor” allegedly sexually abused ‘unaccompanied child’

A 42-year-old illegal alien promised the Office of Refugee Resettlement (in Health and Human Services) that he would provide a separate bedroom for a 16-year old girl not related to him—AND THEY BELIEVED HIM!

These people live in la-la land and surely we will see many more such cases of abuse as the Obama border surge continues.

A 42-year-old illegal immigrant from Honduras who was awarded custody of an unrelated 16-year-old Honduran girl has been accused of sexual abuse and of smuggling her into the U.S.

Pedro Lara Portillo is charged with alien smuggling and encouraging an alien to illegally enter the country, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Lara, who told authorities he has been in the U.S. illegally for seven years, also lied to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Refugee Resettlement when he said that he and the girl would have separate rooms while she lived with him, according to federal court documents.

The girl came to the U.S. in late March and spent a month in the custody of HHS, which turned her over to Lara’s care.

The agency is in charge of finding housing for the tens of thousands of unaccompanied children apprehended at the U.S. border while they await deportation proceedings to commence.

The girl told Baltimore County police in early June that she had been smuggled into the country, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Lara and the girl’s mother coordinated the plan to smuggle her from Honduras through Mexico, and the teen eventually entered the U.S. through Texas.

“Lara admitted in sum and substance that he wired money to Mexico for the purpose of having [the girl] smuggled to the United States,” Department of Homeland Security special agent Edward J. Kelly wrote in the charging documents.

According to the federal documents, Lara and the girl did not have separate rooms, contrary to assurances he made in the custody arrangement with HHS.

The Department of Homeland Security did not immediately arrest Lara after they interviewed him, though he was eventually apprehended in Tennessee.

Boston: Somali former refugee charged with rape (possibly more than one)

Just for a little change of pace tonight from the ever-expanding crisis on the border, ho-hum we will return to our never-ending Somali crime stories.  This time from Boston last week….

A second reported rape in the Seaport District by a livery driver in less than a year has the city’s taxi union and a South Boston state representative demanding a crackdown before another young woman is attacked in the trendy nightspot.

“This is a real public safety issue, particularly for women in my district,” said Southie state Rep. Nick Collins. “It’s something that we have to resolve and I’ll be looking to work with the city to come up with some new legislation.”

Said Said, 40, of 97 Doane­ St., Quincy, was ordered held on $35,000 cash bail yesterday at his arraignment in South Boston District Court after pleading innocent to charges of aggravated rape, unarmed robbery and receiving stolen property.

Police allege that at midnight Sunday, Said, who is of Somali descent, picked up a woman in a livery mini­van outside Legal Harborside restaurant on Northern Avenue and took her to a deserted South Boston location, where he raped her and stole her cellphone, cash and credit cards before dropping her off on State Street.

 He used the victim’s credit card.  Pretty dumb wouldn’t you say!

Police said they were able to track down Said after he was reportedly caught on surveillance camera using the alleged victim’s credit card to make a purchase at a Walgreens Pharmacy in Quincy.

The victim identified Said in a photo array set up by Boston police,­ according to court documents.

Attack is similar to one that occurred last summer:

Sunday’s alleged assault was eerily similar to an attack that occurred Aug. 6, 2013, when a woman told police she flagged down a livery sedan in South Boston thinking it was a taxi and was instead driven to a secluded area in Newton, where she was raped and assaulted by the driver.

Sweden: whole school class of girls had genitals mutilated

As long-time readers know, Sweden is my bet for the first European country to fall to Islamic dominance.  We have an extensive archive, click here, on the insane Swedish Leftists who have opened their doors wide to any Muslim migrants who can get there!

Here is a story from last week (posted on World Refugee Propaganda Day no less) about a shocking discovery in Sweden!   All the girls in one school class were mutilated!

School health services in the small Swedish city of Norrköping have found 60 cases of female genital mutilation (FGM) among schoolgirls since March, with evidence of mutilation found in all 30 girls in one class, 28 of the most severe form.

In Sweden, where the EU’s Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) says that FGM “is considered to be a serious problem,” the law enables genital examination of children to be carried out without parents’ consent.

FGM has been a crime in Sweden since 1982 and can be punished by up to four years in prison, increased to 10 years if judged to be an aggravated offence.

According to EIGE, concerns about FGM became widespread in Sweden in the early and mid-1990s with the influx of Somali migrants: “The first national action taken in the field…was initiated after alarming testimonies from the healthcare sector indicating the existence of FGM among many — if not all — women that originated from FGM-practising countries.”

If they are “refugees” who fear for their lives, what the hell are they doing going back to their “home country?”

Now the daughters of immigrants are in danger of undergoing FGM. According to the Local, the risk of becoming a victim of the procedure increases in the summer when many schoolgirls visit their parents’ home country: “We’re working to inform parents that they could face prison if they come back and their children have undergone female genital mutilation,” said Petra Blom Andersson, student health coordinator in Norrköping.

Mutilation carried out abroad has been a crime in Sweden since 1999.

In 2013, Somalis were the third largest group granted asylum in the EU countries, according to a Eurostat figures reported yesterday by Breitbart London, with almost 10,000 granted protection. Sweden gave refugee status to 26,400 people last year, more than any other EU country.

You know this is happening in America too!  The silence is deafening!

Buffalo, NY to hold special refugee health care summit

Every year, 1,500 to 2,000 refugees and asylum-seekers come to Buffalo — one of the top refugee resettlement areas in the United States — driven by social and political upheaval, war, economic and agricultural distress, and poverty.

Before they leave their homelands, they are provided health assessments, vaccine updates and any necessary medical treatment. But when they get here, it’s a different story. They often face substantial and complex problems when they try to gain access to the physical and mental health services required by them and their families.

To explore these challenges and develop models for exemplary refugee health care systems, the University at Buffalo will sponsor Buffalo’s first collaborative Refugee Health Summit on April 24 at the UB Educational Opportunity Center, 555 Ellicott St., Buffalo.

Participation in the Refugee Health Summit, which will take place from 12:30-7:30 p.m., is by invitation only. If interested in attending, contact Jessica Scates at jmscates@buffalo.edu.

It will feature major participation by Western New York’s four resettlement agencies: the International Institute of Buffalo, Catholic Charities of Buffalo, Jewish Family Service and Journey’s End Refugee Services, and by representatives of the refugee community itself.

Jessica Scates, coordinator of the OGHI, notes that as part of their orientation to Buffalo, refugees are educated about health care and health systems. “The challenge is to ready local health professionals to provide culturally engaged care to individuals from a variety of backgrounds,” she says. “Cultural education for local medical providers is especially important in addressing barriers to care, which can be complicated and difficult to resolve.”
