Trump halts (for now) 'refugee' flow from Malta to the US

If you have been reading RRW for ten years, you know this is like Christmas to me!

“New Americans” arriving on Malta (a nation in the European Union) from Libya (Libya the failed state thanks to Hillary/Obama). Photo: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-05-10/african-refugees-flee-libya-to-malta/2714380

Donald Trump’s EO on refugees stops the illegal flow of migrants who land in a safe EU country—Malta—to your towns and cities.
George Bush started this insanity and Obama continued it.
Boat people from Africa arrive as illegal aliens on Malta. International law requires that they ask for asylum in the first safe country they reach—Malta (or in the case of the failed asylum seekers Turnbull is trying to pawn off on us, Australia)—instead many are just loaded up to Anytown, USA. Many are Somalis, btw.
congress
Where is Congress? There are many tweeks Congress could make to the Refugee Act of 1980 and one is to stop this practice of taking refugees from countries where they are perfectly safe AND WHERE IT IS THAT COUNTRY’S RESPONSIBILITY NOT OURS!

When I first began writing about this practice in 2007 or 2008 (I didn’t look back), a US State Dept. employee contacted me anonymously and told me that this “new” policy was heavily criticized internally.
If you are an ambitious reader, you might consider reading through dozens and dozens of posts I have on the topic by clicking here (or use my search window for ‘Malta.’)
Imagine my joy to see the ABC headline US halts resettlement program from Malta.
It is only for 120 days, but maybe that is time enough for Congress to do something to stop it completely.

You know, and I know, that there is no way to thoroughly screen migrants who came by boat from failed states in Africa!

Here is ABC News:

A decade-old program to resettle a fixed quota of refugees arriving in the small, southern EU nation of Malta to the United States is another casualty of President Donald Trump’s executive order on immigration.

U.S. Ambassador G. Kathleen Hill told Maltese media this week that the refugee resettlement program has been suspended for 120 days under the order.

It isn’t clear what will happen after the four months have elapsed. Hill said that the U.S. government is “reviewing the program” and the embassy is awaiting “further guidance” at the end of the 120 days.

More than 3,110 refugees have been resettled in the U.S. since 2007 to help ease pressure on Malta from the influx of migrants arriving by boat from northern Africa.

Processing country data at Wrapsnet is informative. I told you about it here not too long ago.
During the first 3 months of this fiscal year we admitted 170 of the migrants that Malta (the EU) didn’t accept and that Europeans had no will to turn back to Africa.
The first number is the case number and the second is the individual number. The ratio of cases to individuals tells us that most of those we took from Malta are single (men?).

Australia deal not a sure thing after word that Trump yelled at Australian Prime Minister

“This is the worst deal ever,” sending “next Boston bombers” into the US!

President Donald Trump

We’ve been telling you about the rotten deal Obama made with Australia that doesn’t benefit the US one bit ever since it surfaced, here, November 4th. (One more Obama dirty deal left behind for Trump!)
In a rare show of strength on any issue involving refugees, the Chairmen of the House and Senate Judiciary Committees came out against the deal here a couple of weeks after Trump was elected.

detention-nauru
Australia has its leftist open borders agitators too. They want the offshore detention facilities closed. Protests here in Melbourne last year. http://www.radionz.co.nz/international/pacific-news/317561/731-manus-island-detainees-sign-new-application

But, just a couple of days ago we heard Australian Prime Minister Turnbull telling his media that the deal would be honored by President Trump.  Now we are hearing the Administration’s side of it!
Before I give the latest news which I caught on CNN first thing this morning (remember I suggested you might want to watch CNN once in awhile because then you can see for yourself how they spin about news you know something about).
Here is what I know and you need to know as this continues to blow up today:
Australia does take refugees (CNN said this morning that they don’t!), but the Australian public doesn’t want these migrants (mostly Muslim men!) who tried to get into Australia by boat.  They were sent to detention on offshore islands where they failed to be granted asylum to live in Australia.
The Australian public does not want them and Turnbull is trying to save his political skin while human rights activists agitate and blast him from one side and the sensible Australian people from the other.

These are illegal migrants who failed to gain asylum in Australia! Australia doesn’t want them. Why are they our problem?

And, what are we getting from the deal? Supposedly Australia will take a number of Central American migrants parked in Costa Rica right now.***  So why are those people our problem?
***Update*** Excellent background report at the Center for Immigration Studies on the deal, by Nayla Rush, here.
To top it off, one of my Australian readers is saying that many of the 1,000-2,000 (numbers vary) in detention don’t want to come to “Donald Trump’s America” anyway!
Here is the news this morning, hat tip Judy:

President Trump reportedly blasted the Australian Prime Minister during a phone call between the leaders of the two longtime allies.

Trump told Australian leader Malcolm Turnbull that the conversation was “the worst call by far” among talks with various world leaders that day and ended the scheduled hour-long conversation after just 25 minutes, according to The Washington Post.

Trump was reportedly incensed that the Prime Minister expected him to abide by an Obama administration agreement to take in 1,250 refugees from Australia.

“This is the worst deal ever,” Trump told Turnbull in the call, adding that the country was trying to send the “next Boston bombers” into the US.

Trump was “yelling” at Turnbull during the call, according to SKY News in Australia, and the US president hung up the phone on him after 25 minutes.

Trump continued to rail against the refugee deal in a tweet sent Wednesday night.

“Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!” Trump tweeted.

Here we get the New York Post continuing the lie that these are ‘refugees.’  If they are legitimate refugees they are Australia’s problem!

The deal, however, includes refugees and not “illegal immigrants,” as Trump claimed.

[….]

The refugees in the agreement have fled Iraq, Iran, Sudan and Somalia. They have been living in facilities on islands off the coast of Australia.

congress
***This business of using refugees as pawns in political deals must stop.  In April 2012 I first testified to the US State Department and gave ten reasons why there needed to be a moratorium on refugee resettlement and this is #7:

7)   Congress needs to specifically disallow the use of the refugee program for other purposes of the US Government, especially using certain refugee populations to address unrelated foreign policy objectives—Uzbeks, Kosovars, Meshketians and Bhutanese (Nepalese) people come to mind.

So come on Congress, get to work! We know you are hiding behind Trump!

Be sure to let Donald Trump know how you feel about the Australia deal today!  Click here!

Update: Here is the Washington Post’s version of what happened.

Trump Watch! Did Trump cave and agree to take Australia's rejected asylum seekers?

I sure hope Reuters has this wrong!
If it is true it is truly insane!
For new readers, in the waning months of the Obama Administration, Obama made a deal with Australian Prime Minister Turnbull to take off their hands somewhere between 1000-2000 migrants being held in detention on offshore islands.

Australia does not want to give them asylum and bring them to their mainland, but Obama thought it was a swell idea for them to be distributed to American cities and towns!

nauru-detention-center
In 2015 the little darlings burned down the detention center on Nauru. And we are going to take some of these detainees to your towns and cities? Awful story and photo here: http://www.themercury.com.au/news/national/nauru-detention-centre-exstaffer-makes-horrific-claims-in-damages-suit/news-story/d3b3d623be8c968d960b3c90541207d2

We are told by Reuters that Trump agreed to honor the deal in a phone call with the Australian prime minister yesterday.
Again, Australia does not want these mostly Muslim illegal aliens who attempted to reach Australia by boat!
(See our past posts on the ‘Australia deal’ here.)
Here is Reuters:

President Donald Trump has confirmed that his administration will honor a refugee resettlement deal with Australia, a source close to the Australian government said on Sunday.

Trump spoke by telephone with Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull earlier on Sunday, officials in both countries said, one of a number of conversations the new U.S. president held with world leaders, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.

The Australian government source told Reuters Trump confirmed the deal to resettle asylum seekers currently held in offshore detention camps to the United States would go ahead.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama’s administration had said the United States would take a substantial number of the 1,200 asylum seekers, who are held in the procession centers on remote Pacific islands in Papua New Guinea and Nauru, after Turnbull agreed to resettle refugees from Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

U.S. Homeland Security officials have begun assessing the asylum seekers, although it was unclear when those found to be genuine refugees would be resettled. [Australia obviously found none who are legitimate refugees!—ed]

Many of those in Australia’s offshore camps have fled conflict in Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, and elsewhere.

Senator Grassley and Rep. Goodlatte identified the nationalities as the following: Iran, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, Iraq, Sudan and “stateless” (probably Rohingya), here.
So what kind of a deal is this Donald?
We get Australia’s rejected asylum seekers (house, feed, clothe them on our dime) and a bunch of illegal aliens not even in the US from Central America being held in Costa Rica go to Australia.  What do we get out of that deal???
I’m guessing there is a strong caveat that Reuters may not want to focus on and that is that the ‘refugees’ must get through our surely stepped-up security screening when they clearly didn’t get through Australia’s.
Just in case….

Invasion of Europe 2017: Prediction! Invasion will grow as there are too many Africans and not enough jobs

Invasion of Europe news……

Here they come! If you have never read Camp of the Saints, you should! https://www.amazon.com/Camp-Saints-Jean-Raspail/dp/1881780074/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1484478174&sr=8-1&keywords=camp+of+saints

Breitbart London published this news early today:

Lack of Jobs in Africa Could Spark Massive Migration to Europe

The economies of the developing world cannot keep pace with an increase in population, meaning millions of people from Africa will likely migrate to Europe, a new report has found.

The report, from the Geneva-based International Labour Organisation (ILO), states that the economies of developing nations in Arica, Asia, and South America cannot keep pace with the number of young people entering the workforce. The result, especially in Africa, will mean that many are ready to migrate and look for jobs elsewhere – and their main target will likely be Europe Die Welt reports.

Don’t get these economic migrants confused with legitimate refugees. They are not, but the open borders movement is going to call them all refugees/asylum seekers!

Economists expect that the number of unemployed in African states will skyrocket, as the slow growth of African economies may only produce a few hundred thousand jobs over the next year. By contrast, the ILO expects there to be millions of young people entering the job market across the African continent.

More here.
The only hope for Europe (and it may be too late) is for countries like France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands to elect leaders who are nationalists!

UN organization distributes 10,000 more illegal migrants throughout Europe

Invasion of Europe news……
Update: See how a German teen outsmarts a would-be ‘refugee’ rapist. Sort of related to this story, but I had such a good laugh I wanted to share it right away. Click here.
We need to be paying more attention to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) which previously, although funded with government funds, was a separate organization from the United Nations. It became part of the UN just last year (see here).  The US funds a large chunk of IOM, but I have never seriously looked in to how much.

iom-asylum-seekers
This is IOM’s own photo—beware ‘robust’ young men carrying blue and white bags!

Here we learn that they are happy to spread 10,000 of the illegal aliens who arrived in Greece and Italy throughout Europe.  The largest numbers were moved to France, the Netherlands and Germany!

But they are not satisfied with 10,000, they hope to move another 106,000 in the next two years!

What is not clear is if those seeded throughout Europe have even had their asylum claims processed!
So, is it up to the receiving countries to accommodate them and determine if they are legitimate refugees?  If they aren’t legit refugees, then must that country try to deport them?

From an IOM news release today:

Belgium – Over 10,000 asylum seekers have now been relocated from Greece and Italy to other European Union (EU) member states through the EU relocation programme, according to IOM, which is facilitating the operation.

This week, 168 people left Greece for Estonia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway and Portugal. Another 81 people were relocated from Italy to Spain. This brings the total number of people relocated under the scheme to 10,189 since its launch in October 2015.

While IOM welcomes the 10,000 milestone and continuing efforts to relocate eligible asylum seekers, it acknowledges that this number is far too low and is calling for a robust push to meet the goals of the two-year programme – the provision of 106,000 places in other EU member states. [They love the word ‘robust,’ look for it in almost any warm and fuzzy story about refugees.—ed]

[….]

France (2,702), the Netherlands (1,216) and Germany (1,099) have received the most asylum seekers to date under the scheme.

[….]

As of 31 December 2016, Syrians comprised the majority of EU relocation beneficiaries (58 percent), followed by Eritreans (27 percent), Iraqis (12 percent) and other nationalities (3 percent).

[….]

Women accounted for 39 percent of those relocated…

I just love it when they think they are so clever by mentioning the number of women.  Does this mean that 61% are males? And, btw, dumb choice of photo for their press release!
