The border invasion continues as more illegal alien “children” and mothers arrive in Texas…

…..over 100 a day says head nun at Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley.

Ho hum!  Happy New Year!

From the Tucson Sentinel (hat tip: Paul):

McALLEN, Texas — The media tent that once stood in the parking lot of Sacred Heart Church is gone, as are the television crews and reporters who descended this summer when the flow of Central American immigrants illegally crossing the Texas border was major news.

But after a brief lull, the surge of undocumented families passing through a temporary shelter set up by Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley seems to be rising again. The spotlight may have turned away, but if the sense of crisis is gone, the people have not stopped coming.

“The numbers increased a lot this past month, almost to 100 every day [last week],” said Sister Norma Pimentel, executive director of Catholic Charities of the Rio Grande Valley. “We have seen some that have already been caught and tried again. They have hope that they have a chance at a better life here.”

After Christmas, she said, the charity will begin searching for a facility to turn what began as a temporary shelter into a permanent offering.

Pimentel oversees the volunteer effort providing short-term shelter to some of the thousands of women and children who have trekked to Texas from Central America. About 52,300 families surrendered to the U.S. Border Patrol in the Rio Grande Valley during the 2014 fiscal year, an increase of more than 500 percent over 2013. About 50,000 unaccompanied children were caught or surrendered to border agents in the Valley in fiscal year 2014.

It doesn’t look like it’s going to end any time soon,” Pimentel said. “[The Border Patrol] considered the fact that we’re here and we’re prepared to receive them.”

With so many arrivals, the Border Patrol releases most families to the church shelter with orders for them to appear before an immigration judge in whatever city they reach. Some stay in Texas. Others head for New York, Miami, Boston or Chicago, among other cities.

[….]

Through Oct. 17, local governments had spent about $560,000 to aid in the humanitarian effort. Governments including the cities of McAllen and Weslaco, and Hidalgo and Willacy counties, have asked the federal and state governments for reimbursement, but a McAllen city official said they haven’t heard back.

Now, if our side was as organized as the left, we would be out protesting at this Catholic Charities convention against the so-called “charity” feeding from the public trough and using our money for their political agenda.

The crisis has also put the area in the spotlight. Pimentel said the American and Latin American branches of Catholic Charities will hold their annual conference in McAllen next year.

Surely they are having the confab at the border to take full advantage of the media opportunity to push the Catholic open borders agenda.

Alaska gets first mosque; refugees helping fuel diversity boom in Anchorage

In the Modern Day Trojan Horse:  Al-Hijra the Islamic Doctrine of Immigration authors Sam Solomon and E Al Maqdisi explain that migration is jihad and mosque-building is an important part of the migration and ultimately the establishment of the Islamic state.  If you haven’t read it yet, please do.

Now the migration has spread to Alaska and is being helped along by the US State Department’s Refugee Admissions Program.  According to our handy list, Catholic Social Services can be thanked for resettling Muslims there as the State Department refugee resettlement contractor.

From Aljazeera (of course!):

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Alaska’s first mosque has risen quietly over the last few years in a gravel lot in a South Anchorage commercial district, a neighbor to a Korean Presbyterian church, a couple of auto repair garages, a drive-through Chinese restaurant and a Sons of Norway hall.

A few weeks ago, Sam Obeidi, vice president of the Islamic Community Center Anchorage Alaska, turned a key and pushed open the mosque’s door, flipping on a light in a hallway that smelled of drywall plaster and new carpet.

Palestinian by birth, Obeidi came to Alaska as a teenager to join his father, a refugee, who settled in Anchorage in the 1960s.

The Islamic holy land may be more than 6,000 miles away, but Anchorage has increasingly become a destination for Muslims, who now number as many as 3,000 in the city, the ICCAA estimates.

The draw is partly economic — Alaska’s economy was barely touched by the recession — and partly connected to waves of government refugee resettlement in Alaska’s largest city. White non-Hispanics now make up just over half the population of Anchorage. The rest is made up of a diverse mix of cultures: Alaska Natives, Pacific Islanders, Asians, Africans and Hispanics. More than 100 languages are spoken in the Anchorage schools.

That striking diversity is amplified among Muslims, who are far more likely to be immigrants and refugees. While many mosques in U.S. cities are tied to a single ethnic group, Friday prayers in Anchorage might draw Gambians, Pakistanis, Albanians, Somalis, Sudanese, Egyptians, Palestinians, Iraqis, Bangladeshis, Burmese, Russians and Malaysians, among others.

There is more, read it all.

By the way, in the Netherlands they are starting to ‘get it’ about mosque construction and the same goes for Germany.

Did you ever wonder why mosques are being proposed in places where there doesn’t seem to be enough supporting population for them?   Solomon and Al Maqdisi say that the mosque is a kind of territorial marker (my words) used to pull a Muslim population to it where the numbers will grow and expand until some set up another mosque and migrate to the new area.  It is a religious obligation to migrate (even to places like Alaska!).

Obama to visit Nashville next week to celebrate diversity; illegal aliens

Wouldn’t it be great if he got a ‘welcome’ from those who vehemently disagree with his recent Executive amnesty!

Mr. Cool to rally illegal alien supporters in Nashville on Tuesday.

Here is the story at The Tennessean:

President Barack Obama is visiting Nashville next week to discuss his recent executive actions on immigration in a stop that will shine a spotlight on one of the nation’s fastest-growing immigrant populations.

The president, who will make his second trip to Davidson County in less than a year, will deliver his remarks Tuesday at Casa Azafran, an immigrant community center on Nolensville Pike that opened two years ago.

His visit comes two weeks after he issued an executive order to provide temporary legal status and work permits to more than 5 million immigrants who are in this country illegally. Seventeen states have joined together in a federal lawsuit to challenge the constitutionality of Obama’s action, but Tennessee is not among them.

“With the number of foreign-born residents more than doubling over the past decade, Nashville has actively worked to welcome new Americans,” White House press secretary Josh Earnest said. “Through community-based programs and government initiatives, the city is empowering and engaging New American community leaders. And the city’s actions are paying off.”

Nashville’s foreign-born population is nearing 12 percent, about double from a decade ago and fueling the city’s overall population growth during that span. Thirty percent of Metro’s public school students reside in homes where English is not the primary language, and 140 languages are spoken across the district.  [Oh, aren’t they lucky! See school system a wreck!—ed]

[….]

Though the majority of Nashville’s immigrants are Hispanic, the city has welcomed large Kurdish, Somali and Burmese refugee groups as well.

Readers of RRW know well how Catholic Charities has resettled thousands of refugees in Nashville.  In fact, in 2013, the ORR referenced Tennessee as a ‘pocket of resistance’ and we have an entire category devoted to ‘Nashville’ here.

Tennesseans who disagree with Obama should be sure to voice their displeasure at his choice of Nashville for a pro- Open Borders speech by complaining in advance to their Governor and to their two US Senators.  They are all three squishes on immigration, but all the more reason to give them an earful.

Did anyone let Laura Ingraham know?

Dallas, TX receives refugees looking for work, Catholic Charities is the ‘head hunter’

There is nothing earth-shattering in this Dallas News story.  In fact I’m posting it to show new readers how reporters just lap up refugee none-news put out from the refugee PR machine and translate it into a warm and fuzzy story (the only thing missing in this one is the ‘refugees see first snow!’ but of course this is Dallas).  If you are a new reader and/or from Texas you might find this enlightening.

However, reporters such as this one—Dianne Solis—never go beyond the surface and ask questions like how much is this costing US and Texas taxpayers because Catholic Charities is largely funded by your tax dollars?  Or, are there Texans who need these jobs? (Does Catholic Charities also help poor Texans find work?)  Or, are the Dallas schools struggling with the influx of so many diverse immigrants? Or, how much welfare do the refugees receive even after they reach that mythical goal of self-sufficiency?  (See our fact sheet for the welfare goodies) etc.

From Dallas News:

Mohammad Farah, Catholic Charities of Dallas, trains refugees for job placement. http://www.catholiccharitiesdallas.org/category/employee-stories/

Mohammed Farah shares his story as a refugee from war-ravaged Somalia to a class of fresh arrivals. [Message:  Mohammed hung in there and now works for Catholic Charities of Dallas!—ed]

Dallas and Texas generally top the list of US State Department targets for resettlement:

Today, now working as the refugee resettlement program manager for the nonprofit Catholic Charities, the 51-year-old Farah coaches others on the art of resurrection. And the demand is growing — Texas has led the nation for the last four years in refugee resettlements, and Catholic Charities in Dallas last year handled about 725 cases, or about 10 percent of the state’s total.

During the recent two-day orientation, Farah spoke to about two dozen refugees, ranging from Iraqi engineers to Burmese farmers.

He’s blunt about what it takes to succeed: Prepare mentally for endurance in the labor market. Take any job, any wage, any shift. And smell like a flower, he says. Farah’s point on fabulous hygiene finally provokes some smiles from the serious morning crowd.

Iraqis, Burmese and Bhutanese have led the flow into Texas. Rounding out the top 10 are newcomers from Somalia, Iran, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Cuba, Eritrea, Sudan and Ethiopia.  [Bringing multiculturalism and democrat voters to Red Texas—ed]

Faking you out with the numbers:

“Your first job is not your lifetime job,” he says.

Many stare back glumly. One woman keeps her arms tightly folded across her chest, pressing her fingers into her biceps. [LOL!  see the Dallas News photo for grumpy refugee.]

[….]

Catholic Charities of Dallas finds jobs for 98 percent of those it resettles within 180 days, says Avril Knox, the director of refugee resettlement services for the Dallas agency.

Catholic Charities is in competition with other resettlement contractors for the next batch of refugees so they are all padding their employment numbers to appear more successful than their grant-seeking competitors.

This 98% figure is bogus! It is an example of the Jonathan Gruber syndrome (government can lie to you if it advances their cause).   These agencies work like heck to get refugees signed up for any job just as their reporting numbers are due into the feds. It doesn’t matter if the refugee quits or is fired the next week.  What matters is if he or she is employed on reporting day!

And the Dallas News story wraps up with this instead of an account of the ‘first-snow’ thrill.    I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve seen this—refugee kid wants to be a doctor:

His enthusiasm hits home for one 13-year-old Iraqi girl, who fled with her family to the U.S. She says she’s eager to start school and mathematics classes.

“I want to be a doctor because I like to help sick people,” she said.

Read it all, and if you live in Texas you need to really start digging into the facts and exposing them—start a website on Texas LEGAL immigration news. You have a big fat target on your state!

BTW, Catholic Charities of Dallas was also involved in the Unaccompanied Alien Children mess this summer.

Go here for our archive on Dallas.  One Texas city, Amarillo, has developed a “pocket of resistance” to more refugee resettlement.

“Children” escape Catholic facility and carjack two cars one belonging to 91-year-old veteran

Update October 11Check this story in which the reporter actually refers to the illegal alien children as “refugees.”  They are NOT refugees yet, that is what the No borders agitators want them to be.

It was just a matter of time before the violent crimes got underway and the Office of Refugee Resettlement now has to review security in 139 facilities scattered across America.  Ho hum….

I guess Sister Cathy has her hands full. Check out Maryville Academy, here: http://www.maryvilleacademy.org/

From the Daily Mail (thanks to all of our readers who sent it).  The “vulnerable” children were just seeking asylum from crime in Guatemala.  Remember also that ol’ Rahm Emanuel asked for a thousand of the little darlings!

Two teenage asylum seekers from Guatemala have escaped a detention center in Illinois and carjacked a 91-year-old Navy veteran.

The incident has prompted the federal government to order a security review at all 139 shelters across the country that house illegal immigrant minors, MailOnline can exclusively reveal.

The boys, age 16 and 17, were able to walk away unchallenged from Maryville Academy in Des Plaines, Illinois, outside Chicago, on Wednesday morning and carjack two victims before they were arrested more than 225 miles away outside Iowa City, Iowa, according to authorities.

Police say they targeted an elderly man in Moline, Illinois, who was picking up his prescription at Walmart.

They threatened him with violence, forced him out of his car and then sped off with his Buick LeSabre.

[….]

More than 60,000 unaccompanied minors from Central America have poured across the US-Mexico border in recent months and claimed asylum, saying they were fleeing the drug cartel violence in their impoverished home countries.

The federal government is spending $868 million this year to house and resettle them.

Read it all.  There is lots more detail than you will get from the America press!

Here (in July) the Archdiocese of Chicago asked to be given federal bucks to house a bunch of the ‘Unaccompanied alien children’ at Maryville.

Lawrenceville could have been Maryville.

Lawrenceville, Virginia dodged a bullet when citizens protested a similar facility in a local college.  The feds are now being sued for racism because they backed out of the deal.

I should have posted the story earlier, but here it is at Frontpage Magazine:

Last June, community outrage forced the federal government to cancel plans to house hundreds of illegal alien children at a closed college in Lawrenceville, VA. A complaint filed by St. Paul’s College and nonprofit Housing Opportunities Made Equal (HOME) of Virginia with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) alleges the move was racially motivated. Both entities also filed a separate complaint against the Health and Human Services Department (HHS) for canceling the lease, citing another alleged violation of anti-discrimination laws. “No one should block someone’s housing opportunity based on race or national origin,” said Helen O’Beirne Hardiman, fair housing director for HOME. “It’s unfair, and it’s completely illegal for government officials to step in to a private deal and say we don’t want Central American children coming to this community.”

I don’t get how this is a “private” deal when it’s all about federal grants and contracts.

Read it all.  It is all about the money.
