Greenwich, CT not getting refugees anytime soon (so they think!)

Yesterday we told you about the Sanders ‘plant’ in a Trump townhall meeting in New Hampshire. See that story first so you know what we are talking about here.

The ‘plant’ Darren Ornitz implied that Greenwich, CT (where he ostensibly grew up) would soon see Syrian refugees resettled there. Since Greenwich is an upscale town, I’m figuring that is unlikely despite the fact that Connecticut elected officials are all for “welcoming” large numbers of Africans, Asians and Middle Easterners to the state (see Senator Richard Blumenthal here with CAIR CT).
Apparently alarmed by what Ornitz said, the Greenwich Time was quick to make sure the citizens there were safe for the time being.

Greenwich officials said Tuesday that they were not aware of any plans to settle Syrian refugees in town, a day after a Greenwich man pressed Donald Trump on his controversial immigration policy.

The unnamed man, who identified himself as being from Greenwich, asked Trump at a campaign event Monday in Salem, N.H., whether the Republican presidential candidate’s refugee policy would bar Syrian children from the country.

Trump’s stance is contentious, with many of his opponents disputing his characterization of Syrian refugees.

But the question that the Greenwich man asked Trump appears to be a moot one – at least for the moment – in Greenwich. Both Town Hall and school district officials said that they were not aware of any plans to relocate Syrian families to the town.

I recommend that the town fathers stay on top of the issue.

blumenthal and CAIR CT — Keep an eye on Senator Blumenthal (here with CAIR CT director) who wants to make security screening easier for Syrian refugees to get into the US!

Although the town’s wealth may be an impediment (rich, politically well-connected, people don’t want refugees in their towns), it is no guarantee it couldn’t happen.

Connecticut has gotten 3,397 refugees since Obama took office. The largest numbers went to Hartford and New Haven. None went to Greenwich.
I was surprised to see that Connecticut got 479 Somalis. And, even more surprised to see that 61 Syrians have already been placed in the state (the largest number of those went to New Haven).

Update! Thanks to readers who found that the bearded man is Darren Ornitz who lives in Brooklyn, NY. He may have earlier lived in Greenwich, CT. He is a Reuters freelance photographer and is “leaning toward” supporting Bernie Sanders. Once you know his name the rest falls into place. A bearded man at a townhall meeting in NH asked Donald Trump if he could look Syrian kids in the face and tell them they can’t come to America. Trump said, yes, he absolutely could do that.
Trump then went on to say, we don’t know who they are. He said that the Gulf States should help build safe zones in Syria where refugees could be cared for until the conflict is over. He also said that most of them want to go home anyway. All of that is true.
He also predicted a coming revolution in Germany and said, “Wait until you see what they do to Merkel!”
The bearded man was obviously a plant. He said he came from Greenwich, CT and that Greenwich was going to get Syrian refugees. Trump quipped that he must be rich to live in Greenwich.
Can you identify the bearded man? We know that one of the driving forces behind more resettlement of Muslims to Connecticut is CAIR Connecticut (being helped by Senator Richard Blumenthal).

By the way, of the 841 Syrians admitted to the US in FY2016, 833 are Muslims. We are not saving Syrian Christians.

Interfaith group working with CAIR to colonize Connecticut with Syrian 'refugees'

CAIR becomes a player!

I’ve been reporting this morning (here) and in the last week (here and here) that there is a new player promoting the resettlement of third world refugees from countries where people hate us (from Iraq, Somalia, Afghanistan, Burma and most recently Syria).
Having followed this issue for eight years I can attest to the fact that the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), although stepping in to defend the ‘rights’ of Muslim refugees to, for instance, pray in the workplace, have not until just recently played an active (visible!) role in the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program.
It seems that all of that is changing, and this video news clip from Connecticut shows CAIR’s leadership role in Connecticut to colonize ten towns with Syrian refugees. And, readers, beware! these so-called ‘Interfaith groups’ are willing participants in changing the demographic make-up of your communities. See CT Senator Richard Blumenthal (reduce security screening) in the clip!

“A group of leaders, activists and concerned people from various faith traditions in the region gathered on Oct. 11, Sunday, at Berlin Mosque, pushing for “Hope for Humanity” Syrian Refugee Initiative. The interfaith network includes representatives from Council on American-Islamic Relations, First Congregational Church of Old Lyme, Catholic Charities as well as refugee resettlement organizations including Integrated Refugee & Immigrant Services and the International Institute of Connecticut.

‘Seeding’ ten cities as Connecticut colonization gets underway!

The group is looking to place ten Syrian refugee families in ten cities including New London and Old Lyme.”

Demand transparency!

The best advice I can give for Connecticut citizens (potential ‘Pockets of Resistance’) is for you to go to your local elected government and ask what the Mayor and council (or county commission) are going to do to demand, at minimum, transparency so that everyone in the city or county knows what they are in for as the cost to local and state taxpayers is enormous (not to mention the social costs of ‘welcoming’ diverse ethnic and religious immigrants who have no intention of assimilating).
Demand that the US State Department and its contractors present a plan to the local community that includes the cost of resettlement and describes the potential social and cultural impact to the community.
The mayor of Athens, Georgia demanded such a plan a year ago and as far as I know, no refugees have yet been resettled there.
See here where we learned that the US State Department is telling reporters and Congress that there is “consultation” with the community.
Go to this list and find the resettlement contractors working in Connecticut. Call them and ask for the R & P Abstract for FY2016 and ask them for a schedule of the upcoming “quarterly consultations” they hold with stakeholders (you, as tax payers, are stakeholders—maybe the most important stakeholders of all!)
By the way, Connecticut did resettle the largest number of refugees of the New England states in FY2015 which ended on Sept. 30th, see map here.

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — All eyes are on the 4 million people who’ve fled a brutal civil war in Syria that’s been raging for four years. Several European countries are offering to take in many of the refugees. The United States has also offered to help by possibly taking in 10,000 people. Senator Richard Blumenthal wants to see the process sped up.

Currently, it takes 18 months to two years for a refugee to come to the United States because of the lengthy process that’s involved. Sen. Blumenthal will submit a four point plan later this week to the powers that be in Washington that will hopefully eliminate some of the red tape. He announced some of his plan Monday morning in Hartford. Some of the points include:

*Expansion of the ‘Priority 3″ program that allows refugees with relatives in the United States to apply directly to the United States government for screening and resettlement.

*Improve coordination to end the repeat security checks that expire while refugees are still being processed.

*Use of videoconferencing for security screenings to greatly reduce the need for expensive and logistically-difficult travel.

*Notification of families when some, but not all family members have been cleared to come to the U.S.

We mentioned the ‘expansion of P-3’ when we wrote about the Senate hearing last week. This must be vigorously opposed as P-3 fraud has been rampant over the years!

Connecticut elected officials welcome Syrian (Muslim) refugees

I was on the Lori on Liberty show from Connecticut yesterday, but hadn’t seen the news that Senator Chris Murphy (D-CT) is out stumping for more Syrians (mostly Muslims) to be resettled in Connecticut. Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty, a Democrat from the 5th District, is on board too. The governor, according to the Washington Times is warming to the idea.

Get ready Connecticut (where Yale has accepted a Saudi billionaire’s gift to build an ISLAMIC LAW CENTER there).
From the Washington Times:

With heart-rending images of desperate migrants flooding into Europe, some have called on the U.S. to do more. President Obama recently issued an order allowing up to 10,000 refugees from Syria into the United States during the next fiscal year, but even that is not enough, said Connecticut Sen. Chris Murphy.

In addition to the humanitarian obligations, he said there are practical reasons for helping the refugees. “We’re losing credibility (in the Middle East) if we sit on the sidelines,” said Murphy, a Democratic freshman who recently visited refugee camps in Jordan.

We knew 2016 Presidential candidate Marco Rubio was using weasel-words on the Syrians, but here the Washington Times reports that he is on board to increase refugee numbers to America.

Several Republican presidential candidates, including Sens. Lindsay Graham of South Carolina and Marco Rubio of Florida, are also pressing for an increase in the number of refugees allowed into the U.S., as long as they are thoroughly vetted to determine that they are not part of a terrorist group.

The FBI testified in February that the Syrian refugees could NOT BE THOROUGHLY VETTED—where have those Senator been?
The Washington Times continues….

Murphy agreed, saying the U.S. should “spare no expense” in investigating the refugees to ensure they have no terrorist connections. But, he added, “just because a place like Syria is violent, that doesn’t mean everyone who lives there is violent. We have a very sophisticated process for vetting refugees.” [No we don’t—ed]

Rep. Elizabeth Esty, a Democrat from the 5th District, last week signed onto a letter to President Obama urging additional aid for the refugees. She said she would welcome refugees that have been thoroughly vetted resettle in her district and her community. [Danbury, Litchfield, Waterbury etc.—ed]

Waterbury reminds me of ‘Whoop-de-do’ in Waterbury several years ago when the US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants‘ subcontractor was exposed in a local paper for neglecting mostly Burmese refugees in their care. The US State Dept. at least temporarily shuttered the program there. It may be up and running now for all I know.
I just noticed in that 2008 ‘Whoop-de-do’ post that refugees were receiving $850 per head upon arrival and the contractor was keeping half. Here we are 7 years later and the amount per refugee now stands at $1975 per refugee!
