Thanks to Creeping Sharia for tipping us off to this latest news.

I searched our thousands of posts and voila, I knew I recognized the name, we first reported on Worku here in 2012.  It is really worth visiting that post to see how complex a fraud was perpetrated on the US State Department.  Worku didn’t just claim (in isolation) to be someone else, but “kids” in America (not his kids) actually helped perpetrate the scam and allowed him to assume the identity of their ailing father.   He came to the US through ‘family’ reunification.

Here is the news of the conviction yesterday at East Africa News (emphasis is mine):

A United States court has convicted an Ethiopian immigrant, who is suspected of having committed war crimes in his home country, on charges of immigration fraud and identity theft.

Prosecutors told the court that the accused, Kefelgn Alemu Worku, had lied about his past and stolen someone else’s identity before immigrating to Colorado in 2004 as a refugee. Worku admitted that he had used a false name to gain entry and citizenship in the United States but denied allegations that he had tortured and killed political prisoners while working as a prison guard in Ethiopia in the 1970’s.

The accused was arrested in May 2011 after Ethiopian Immigrants, Samuel Ketema, 53, and his brother, Kiflu, 58, identified and confronted him at a cafe in Aurora, Colorado. Kiflu claims he witnessed Worku torturing and killing several prisoners – including one of Kiflu’s best friends – while serving a prison sentence in Ethiopia.

So we taxpayers absorbed the expenses of his resettlement, his use of social services, his legal case and now we get to take care of him in prison for the next 15 years!

Worku now faces up to 15 years in prison following his conviction. Dozens of Ethiopian immigrants who thronged the court during the trial seemed satisfied with the verdict.

The charges brought against Worku in Denver were for immigration violations and not the war crimes that he is accused of having committed nearly four decades ago. Ethiopia already tried him for those crimes in absentia and sentenced him to hanging.

I guess what this really means is that in lieu of deportation and hanging, we get to pay for him in prison for 15 years, then what?  Will he be released into America to collect his senior citizen benefits because he is a US citizen?  But, wait! is he a US citizen if he used another person’s identity?

Robel Phillipos is charged with lying to federal investigators after he and others went to Dzhokar Tsarnaev’s room after Phillipos recognized his friend on the videos released by the FBI in the days following the marathon terrorist attack.  He did not call the police to report that he recognized the bombing suspect as his buddy.  A shouted question from a reporter yesterday as to why he didn’t alert authorities is heard at the end of this interview with his lawyers (as they walked away).

From the Daily Caller:

Robel Phillipos, the 19-year old classmate of Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokar Tsarnaev who was charged with lying to federal investigators, gained release from custody with the help of a number of supportive affidavits from Boston-area academics and humanitarians close to his mother, according to a copy of his bond request obtained by the Daily Caller.

Mom is Ethiopian refugee who has important Boston “humanitarian” friends:

Phillipos’ mother Genet Bekele — an Ethiopian refugee who holds a master’s degree in social work from Boston University and worked for a refugee resettlement agency and as the director of the emergency shelter at the nonprofit battered women’s shelter Transition House — provided an affidavit in support of her son.

Transition House executive director Risa Mednick also provided an affidavit supporting Phillipos, claiming that she knew Phillipos’ mother when they both worked at Transition House and on the Cambridge Domestic Violence Task Force. Mednick claimed that Phillipos had a “surprisingly nuanced understanding of how social issues impact families and youth.”

Wellesley College art professor Salem Mekuria also provided an affidavit defending Phillipos.

“Robel’s mother is one of the most humanitarian and generous beings I know. Having experienced hardship as a refugee after escaping from an oppressive military regime, she has been working tirelessly to help others with similar experiences,” Mekuria said in an affidavit.

Martha Goldberg, a sponsored programs administrator at Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, also defended Phillipos and stated that many employees of the International Institute of Boston knew the young man.

“I met Genet fifteen years ago as a coworker at the International Institute of Boston. I knew all about Robel as she would talk about him and many of the other staff members knew him. We were all proud of him because he was a really sweet, smart kid,” Goldberg testified in her affidavit.  [Smart?—ed]

For my critics!  I do have sympathy for Mom!

Readers, if you are having trouble finding the International Institute of Boston that’s because it is now “doing business as” the International Institute of New England.  It is another of the 300 plus subcontractors resettling refugees and providing services to “new Americans.”  I believe they are still a subcontractor of USCRI (remember them here yesterday).

Some of these contractors (top nine who have a monopoly) and subcontractors have changed their names over the years, why?  I assume it’s because somehow they got in trouble with federal grant money, but who knows, it could be innocent name changes.  Here in 2009, I reported that USCRI itself changed its name.  In any case it makes it harder for the average taxpaying citizen to keep up with them!

Montgomery Co. MD man arrested for racist graffiti

The 32-year old “student” Dawit Bezuneh was arrested for scrawling “Death to America” and “Cracker is inferior race” on the walls of his school—Montgomery College/Takoma Park. 

This is hilarious!  Takoma Park is the hometown of Thomas Perez soon to be Obama’s Labor Secretary, the birthplace of CASA de Maryland (scroll down to second half of this post), and it’s a town that allows non-citizens to vote—hardly a town whose residents could be called ” white crackers.”   They “welcome” immigrants there, just like Cambridge, Mass does!

I’m guessing Bezuneh is an Ethiopian refugee or asylee (DC area is loaded with them), but of course no media accounts (I read several) mention his immigration status or his nationality.

Here is the story from Scott McCabe at the Washington Examiner (last Friday):

A 32-year-old District of Columbia man has been accused of vandalizing Montgomery College’s Takoma Park/Silver Spring campus with racist graffiti.

Takoma Park police said 32-year-old Dawit Bezuneh used spray paint to tag “Death to America” and green and red markers to write “Cracker is inferior race,” “white crackers” throughout the school.

Cracker, sometimes “white cracker,” is sometimes a pejorative expression for white people, police said.

The vandalism occurred between October and April and appeared to be racially motivated, [duh!–ed] police said. Graffiti was written inside classrooms, bathrooms, in the library and on computer equipment.

Bezuneh was charged with malicious destruction of property, malicious destruction of property scheme, and race, religion ethnic property damage. More charges are pending, police said.

Three new suspects in Boston bombing case, one has a refugee connection

Update May 5th, Phillipos wants to be released tomorrow—good boy (dumb maybe) but son of a refugee so therefore he is good, right?

It’s all over the news today (you don’t need me to tell you!) about the three friends of Dzhokar  Tsarnaev and how they have been arrested for trying to hide evidence.  We have been told repeatedly by the media that their involvement was AFTER the bombing, but we really don’t know that yet.

Here is a profile of the Ethiopian young man who first spotted his friend Dzhokar on the video footage released by the FBI in the days following the terrorist attack.

We don’t know if the 19-year-old was himself a refugee from Ethiopia, but his mother very likely was since she “works with refugees” now.

If he is a Muslim, as the other two arrested today are, we haven’t been told that yet (that I know of).  A reliable source tells me that we resettle mostly Ethiopian Christians and only about 20% Muslims.  BTW, the US State Department keeps all the stats on the religions of refugees they admit to the US, they just won’t give you that information.

Robel Phillipos, charged with lying to authorities investigating the Boston Marathon bombings, was the first friend to recognize Dzhokar Tsarnaev’s photo on TV news and alert the two other university students accused of aiding the suspect, according to the FBI affidavit released Wednesday.

Phillipos, Tsarnaev and Dias Kadyrbayev and Azamat Tazhayakov attended the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth. Phillipos, 19, of Cambridge, was studying marketing, but the university said Wednesday he is not currently enrolled.

With Tsarnaev, he was a 2011 graduate of the prestigious Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, the city schools’ superintendent’s office said.

Phillipos, a U.S. citizen, lives with his mother, who is from Ethiopia and works with refugees, WHDH-TV reported. Their Cambridge apartment is next to the gas station where the Tsarnaev brothers carjacked a vehicle before getting into the shootout with police in which 26-year-old Tamerlan Tsarnaev was killed.

Does anyone other than me find it ironic that all of this is happening in the very heart of Liberal, politically-correct America, Cambridge, Mass?

Of all of the cities in the U.S. one would think that Boston (Kennedy country!) would be immune from Muslim terrorist attacks because the people there are so “welcoming” to immigrants.   Why would those same immigrants, given so much in Massachusetts, lie and kill people?

The controversial imam of a prominent mosque in Arlington, Va., has urged immigrant Muslims in the United States to wage war for Islam.

“The enemies of Allah are lining up. The question for us is, are we lining [up] or are we afraid because they maycall us terrorists?” Shaker Elsayed told a crowd of Ethiopian Muslims during a lecture at T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Va.

“Let me give you the good news: they are already calling us terrorists anyway. Whether you sitting at home, watching TV, drinking coffee, sleeping or playing with your kids, you are a terrorist because you are a Muslim.”

“Well, give them a run for their money. Make it worth it. Make this title worth it, and be a good Muslim,” said the Cairo-born Muslim.

At the end of the imam’s incendiary speech, a representative of the Ethiopian group walked to the podium and declared the speech was not calling for jihad.

Fire the Imam?  Never!

“If Dar al-Hijrah were like most American religious institutions it would fire Elsayed, but it’s not like most religious institutions,” John Rossomando, a researcher at the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

“The mosque operates as a front for Hamas … [and] has the distinction of being connected with more terror plots than just about any other mosque in America,” he said in a statement to TheDC.

So how did all these Ethiopians get here?  You guessed it!  Refugee Resettlement.

From 1983 to 2009 we resettled over 40,000 Ethiopians.  How many are Christians?  How many Muslims? We don’t know, but the State Department knows and doesn’t release that information to the public.

According to that treasure trove of information the 2009 ORR Annual Report to Congress (the first such report during Obama’s Presidency), Virginia received 1,262 Ethiopians through 2009.  And, by the way, the Office of Refugee Resettlement still owes Congress reports for 2010, 2011, and 2012!

Maryland and the District of Columbia each received over a thousand, but top resettlement states for Ethiopians were CA, MN, and TX  (see Table 1 Appendix A).

Remember it was only last month that we learned an Ethiopian man in Northern Virginia was sentenced to 25 years in prison for shooting at the Pentagon and planning to deface graves in Arlington Cemetery (wonder if he attended Dar al-Hijrah?).

For fun, see their most recent Form 990.   Their revenue listed on page 9 is $12,887,556.  You, the taxpayer, paid them $12,755,523 for their work!   99% of their revenue came from you!
