Update June 22: FBI: no hate crime just a mentally ill Muslim, see here. Gee, we heard that somewhere before, where?

Remember the story we told you about earlier this month.
Well, Leo Hohmann at World Net Daily has an update that will blow you away!

Why is this not on the national news?

I’m only going to give you the opening paragraphs because I want you to read it yourself. You can’t make this up! Imagine this happening in your suburban yard!
Here is Hohmann:

It’s been two weeks since an Atlanta-area mother and her daughter were attacked at their home by a burqa-clad Muslim woman who stole the American flag from their front yard and charged at them, swinging the flagpole at the mother’s head.

Lawrenceville-family — The Lawrenceville family whose lives have been turned upside down pose with their flag.

The family says their lives have been turned upside down by the attack, and they don’t go anywhere now unless armed. Two weeks later, they say they’re still waiting for answers from their local police chief and the FBI.

Who attacked them and why?

Dami Arno and her husband, Jimmy of Lawrenceville, Georgia, told WND they are now wondering whether justice will ever be served.

And they want to know why Dami’s attacker – a woman believed to be an immigrant from Somalia – is not being charged with a hate crime. They also want to know why their attacker’s immigration status is being guarded like a state secret while they, the victims, are being ignored by authorities.

Dami and Jimmy Arno said the Lawrenceville police officer who responded to the May 31 incident told them he could not remove the assailant’s burqa “because that would violate her civil rights.”

This is a scary story and one sure to really tick you off—in the wake of Orlando, for the authorities to be so protective of this immigrant’s rights is simply mind blowing!
Continue here and think if this were an episode on a TV show how outraged the political establishment and the Left would be—they would be screaming racism! They would say it was fabricated to scare Americans and make Africans look bad.
By the way, in case you are wondering if some strange Somali woman just wandered over from Atlanta, Hohmann in an early report on the case tells us this:

The U.S. State Department, working with the United Nations, has sent 4,054 Somali refugees to the state of Georgia since 2002, according to the State Department’s online refugee database. Lawrenceville has received 21 Somalis during that time, but nearby Atlanta has received 1,203 and neighboring Clarkston has received 437, Decatur 1,039 and Stone Mountain 1,096.

Governors impotent(?) as UN/US State Department speeds up the Syrian surge (Georgia this time)

Syrian Muslims aren’t just going to Atlanta, but to Savannah and Stone Mountain as well.
Here is the news from Savannah. If you have ample taxpayer-funded housing, you will get Syrians (and Somalis and Iraqis etc).

Humanitarian workers [paid federal contractors!—ed] have resettled the first Syrian refugees in Savannah amid the deadly fighting in their native country as the Obama administration scrambles to bring at least 10,000 Syrian civil war sufferers to the U.S. by the end of September.

Emily Laney (Lutheran federal contractor) says Georgia will get many Syrians this summer.

The five-member family’s arrival in Savannah follows resistance from more than half of the nation’s governors — including Gov. Nathan Deal — in the wake of the Nov. 13 terrorist massacre in Paris. Deal initially sought to block the resettlement of Syrians in Georgia, citing security concerns. He retreated in January after he received a legal opinion that said he had no legal power to stop them from coming.

Since the Syrian civil war began in 2011, 193 Syrians have been relocated to Georgia. All of them were resettled in the Atlanta area until last month, when Lutheran Services of Georgia relocated a young family to Savannah. They’d fled to Turkey in 2013, lived in a refugee camp, and underwent a security screening process before coming to the United States.

“Savannah has affordable housing, ample job opportunities at competitive pay and a welcoming community,” said Emily Laney, director of refugee and immigration services for Atlanta-based Lutheran Services of Georgia. “We expect to continue to resettle Syrian families in Atlanta and Savannah, along with the many other refugee groups we serve.”

kevin appleby new gig — Appleby was previously the chief Washington lobbyist for the USCCB and has obviously moved on to a new gig.

Readers this is about Obama’s legacy and whether he will be able to save face at the United Nations in September!

The Obama administration has a lot riding on reaching its goal this year, said Kevin Appleby, senior director of international migration policy for the New York City-based Center for Migration Studies. Failing, he said, would undermine the nation’s “credibility with allies and others who need to share the burden of resettling the Syrians. It is difficult for us to instruct the Europeans — or even nations in the region — to accept large numbers of refugees when we can’t even meet our own modest goals.”

They will be going to Stone Mountain too.

Here is an article which appears to be nearly the same as the one for Savannah, but it says Stone Mountain High School will be used as a processing center (I’ve never heard of that) and it quotes some angry Republican activists including this one:

Harold Warner, a DeKlab County Republican, said he expected the level of anger to rise as the November election draws near. “This will be the end of Stone Mountain as we know it,” he said.

Again! Every one of you with concerns must use the November election to make this issue a top priority for America’s future! This is it! If Obama gets hundreds of thousands more immigrants of all stripes in here in the next few months, and Hillary is elected, we are finished!

Hound every candidate at every level running for office this fall and ask them where they stand on Open Borders for America!
All other issues of concern can be fixed (Obamacare/common core etc), but not the demographic makeup of the country once the numbers become too great!

Athens, GA mayor questioned resettlement proposal for the city, and so it never materialized

The Jungle 2016!

I have been wondering for the last year whatever happened to Athens, GA after the Democrat mayor there said, give us a “formal refugee integration plan” to the International Rescue Committee (one of the top nine federal contractors) and the US State Department before opening a direct resettlement site in Athens.

Click here for several earlier posts on the controversy. In one, the IRC representative in Georgia said the feds would send the refugees anyway! But, apparently they haven’t.
Two lessons here for towns being faced with new offices: the first is that mayors can “rebuff them” and keep planned direct resettlement offices from opening, and secondly, apparently the contractor and the feds DO NOT want to be in a position to prepare plans (set a precedent?) on how the resettlement will work!
So, if they are coming to your town or city, make them give your town a plan (with public hearings!).

Here I see in the Flagpole, that nothing has moved forward (so far) on the office proposal.

This is one of those long stories meant to play on your heart strings about the wonderful refugees (and I am sure this family is very nice) who have arrived in the area (as secondary migrants) to work in a chicken processing plant.
One of those gushing in this account is a local real estate agent who has helped them buy homes (which they work 60 hours a week to pay for!).
LOL! Gee sounds familiar! I’m re-reading Upton Sinclair’s The Jungle in preparation for a ‘Jungle’ revisited (100 years later!) fact finding tour this summer. Although one big difference these days is that the US State Department and supposedly ‘humanitarian’ NGOs act as head hunters for BIG MEAT companies that are often foreign-owned!
So after wading through 24 warm and gushy paragraphs about the stars of the story—a hardworking Burmese Christian family—we come to the news I was looking for. Apparently there is no movement toward opening a direct resettlement site in Athens, GA (although this story might have been placed as propaganda to begin the re-education of the community on the subject).
From the Flagpole (emphasis is mine):

All of the adults in the family work at the Pilgrim’s Pride poultry plant. Esther and her father work the night shift, while her husband and mother work the day shift. They do it this way so someone can always be home with the children.

Most refugees living in Athens and Comer work at a poultry plant—the industry that provides the most jobs for refugees in Georgia. It’s tedious work and physically hard, but the poultry plants pay $10–11 an hour [Ha! wages would be at least $15 and hour if they had to pay Americans!—ed], more than you can get almost anywhere else for unskilled labor, and that makes it hard to leave.

Esther stands on her feet for eight hours, five or six nights a week, cutting chicken in the cold factory, moving fast to keep up with the conveyer belts. One day she’d like to get a job that’s not so hard, maybe in a retail store or daycare. “We don’t have much time to be social,” says Esther, laughing, “because sometimes we work 60 hours a week. On Sunday we go to church, and then the whole week is finished.” [Wow! The Jungle!—ed]

Last year the International Rescue Committee (a nonprofit refugee resettlement agency) proposed setting up a small office in Athens and bringing 150 refugees here, but it was rebuffed by local government leaders. Subsequently, an ecumenical group composed of clergy and other citizens formed Welcoming Athens, a group “working to nurture a culture of welcome for all people in Athens and the surrounding area.” Among other things, the group is advocating for the city to let the resettlement office come.

The main reason Mayor Nancy Denson gave for not wanting IRC in Athens was that resources are stretched thin, and her priority is “to take care of the people who are already here,” citing issues with homelessness and panhandling. But some in the U.S. also resist taking refugees because of a concern that some refugees coming in might be criminals, violent radicals or unable to adjust successfully to American culture.

“That’s not why they’re coming here,” says Drago, emphatically. “They’re coming here to work, to go to school and have a better future. Now, after having been here awhile, they’re also part of humanity, and some people do commit crimes, but no more than people from any country. But to say that people come here to sow discord and terrorism in our country, absolutely not. They’re fleeing that! They’re coming here because they want to live in a peaceful place.

Georgia refugee agency worried about Trump Presidency

For those of you in ‘pockets of resistance’ in Georgia, have a look at this article.
I don’t have time to say much, just want everyone to know that federal refugee contractors (like New American Pathways) are shaking in their boots because they may be ripped off the government teat if Donald Trump is elected President. We can only dream!

Ted Terry, mayor of Clarkston, Ga., has taken up a banner of hospitality and integration, despite opposition he has faced from vocal critics worried about things like job displacement and even the establishment of Shariah law on U.S. soil.

“In Clarkston, we are providing sort of a microcosm of what the world may very well look like in the future,” Mr. Terry said.

York County, SC resolution fails, but public gets educated!

Efforts to head off possible resettlement of refugees in York County, SC was slowed when a resolution put forth by one member of the council failed (although it was never put to a vote), but remember that we are up against powerful forces in some states.
In South Carolina the Republican Governor has already signaled her support of more refugees being resettled in a state which heretofore hasn’t been overloaded (unlike most states surrounding SC). And, the powerful Senior Senator of the State—Lindsey Graham—is openly advocating for the resettlement of Syrian refugees to America. I suspect that when Graham says “jump” the R’s (who desire upward political mobility) in the state do what he says.
So…. this effort is not wasted because it has obviously generated a discussion (and a controversy) that other local citizens are now learning about.
Here are a couple of short snips from The Herald:

….the ordinance worries refugees will receive federal assistance to resettle in the U.S., that they might not work or learn English, become burdens on the taxpayer and “build enclaves, preserving the language and culture of their countries of origin rather than fully integrate into the surrounding community.”

The motion drew support from speakers at Monday night’s meeting. Joe Newton of Norcross, Ga., spoke before the council wearing a “Stop Refugee Resettlement” T-shirt. He told the council that schools in the Atlanta area have been “overwhelmed” by previously settled refugees who speak 150 languages.

New refugees would “increase that to 200 languages, plus 18 dialects spoken by the Syrians,” Newton said.

Governor Haley could stand up for the Tenth Amendment and against federal dumping of the costs of this program on the states if she had any backbone.

She might not succeed (yet), but the state’s rights issue is one she, as a Republican, should be championing. This is a very reasonable proposal.

If it had been approved, the resolution would call for Gov. Nikki Haley to stop resettlement until its effects are studied separately by the State Law Enforcement Division and several state departments: Social Services, Labor, Education, and Health and Environmental Control. Resettlement should not resume until every refugee is cleared by the Department of Homeland Security, and “Each South Carolina State Senator holds several Town Hall meetings in his or her district … to determine that there is not substantial public opposition.”

Go here and see the locations of resettlement contractors in the US. If you are within 100 miles of any of them, your town is fair game. I suggest going on the offense and alerting your local elected government that this expensive and potentially risky resettlement of third worlders might be coming your way.
