Jeb Bush reasserts open borders position, but look who he is talking to! (besides Grover Norquist!)

Nothing new here but the admission by Bush that a flood of immigrants will squeeze the American middle class.

What interested me was the group he was talking to—-Chicago Council on Global Affairs.

Presidential material? Are you confident he could keep us safe and wouldn’t put his big money donors before you, the American people?

I told you about them here (Globalists seek to change Nebraska and the ‘heartland’ with immigrants) last fall.  Michelle Obama is on the board and they had just put out a study about how to change the ‘Heartland’ by bringing in more immigrant labor.   Here is one thing I said then:

Reports like this one—Growing the Heartland—will be used as propaganda to convince American towns and cities that it is inevitable (and necessary!) that third-worlders will be moving in.   It is really all about global corporations, like meatpackers, needing cheap and abundant labor, and Leftists needing Democrat voters!

Here is the news at Breitbart about Bush’s speech at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs  (I won’t give the hat tip, but just what the hat-tipper said of this news: “What a pantload!”):

On Wednesday, former Florida Governor Jeb Bush reiterated that immigration reform is “hugely important” for America even though the country’s middle class, as Bush acknowledged, is getting more squeezed.

“Immigration reform for our country is so hugely important. Race is not a national identifier in this country. We’re 34 flavors. We’re as diverse as diverse can get,” Bush said during a question-and-answer session after his foreign policy address at the Chicago Council on Global Affairs. “And that is a huge strength looking over the horizon right now, where multiculturalism kind of creates pockets of despair in Europe in many cases.”

This makes no sense!  If multiculturalism creates pockets of despair in Europe, it will surely do that here—it is such a crock to promote this “melting pot” myth.  We won’t melt when the numbers are too high!

Bush, who has been praised by top GOP 2016 donors [it is all about the money!—ed] for leading on the amnesty issue, said “the United States has this potential of being young and dynamic again” and, “if Europe embraced that similar kind of approach, I think that they could see some economic growth as well.”

But his response to an audience member’s question on the “permanency of poverty” displayed that his support for massive comprehensive amnesty legislation may make it tougher for Americans to move up the economic ladder.

Is Norquist the puppetmaster? http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/02/13/report-16-gop-fundraisers-to-push-amnesty-with-grover-norquist-bloomberg-group/

The Grover Norquist connection……

For new readers and those who may have forgotten (I won’t let you forget!).  Jeb Bush joined Grover Norquist and other RINO Republicans in telling the GOP to embrace MORE REFUGEE RESETTLEMENT, here, last year.

Human Rights First praised the signers of Norquist’s letter (remember Refugee Resettlement not only supplies third world laborers for big businesses, but tens of thousands each year are Muslim supposed ‘refugees.’).  Here are those ten RINOs:

Washington, D.C. –   As Republican leaders in Congress work through the party’s immigration reform priorities, ten of the nation’s most prominent Republican leaders released a statement today that urges the party to recommit to upholding the United States’ position as an international leader in protecting refugees fleeing oppression and seeking asylum.   The statement is signed by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez; former Florida Governor Jeb Bush;  former Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tom Ridge;  Kansas Governor Sam Brownback; former Senator Mel MartinezGrover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform;   Suhail A. Khan, chairman of the Conservative Inclusion Coalition; Jim Ziglar, former Commissioner of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS); Alberto Mora, former General Counsel of the Navy; and Dr. Paula Dobriansky, former Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs .

Breaking News!  Norquist says he isn’t a Muslim agent of any sort:

And, check this out today, Norquist comes out swinging against those he calls “stalkers” who question his connections to Islamist movers and shakers.

Click here for our complete Grover Norquist archive which goes back to at least 2008 (maybe 2007) when Norquist was promoting the resettlement of Iraqi refugees to the US.

New information on Grover Norquist’s connections to influential Islamists

If you just finished reading our previous post on an Iraqi refugee creep from Kentucky and still have a smile on your face after clicking our last link in that post, wipe the smile off your face!

Grover Norquist, a long time Open Borders lobbyist apparently has some explaining to do! Photo and earlier story on Norquist at Frontpage magazine: http://www.frontpagemag.com/2012/raymond-ibrahim/a-disturbing-event-the-american-conservative-union-embraces-an-islamist/

From Rebel Pundit comes some amazing news about Republican tax guru Grover Norquist and his connections to Islamist sympathizers in the US (hat tip: Richard at Blue Ridge Forum).

So why do we write about Norquist? because back in our first months as a blogger (more than seven years ago) we told you that Norquist was pushing for Iraqi refugees to be admitted into the US in large numbers.  The majority are Muslims in need of extensive taxpayer-funded social services.

Why, we asked, does an anti-tax crusader want to add to our tax burden?

More recently we told you about Norquist and Suhail Khan rounding up a bunch of RINO Republicans to once again push for more refugees to be admitted to the US.

Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush signed the letter!

Does Jeb know who he is consorting with???

By the way,  Norquist’s letter erroneously stated that Ronald Reagan signed the Refugee Act of 1980 into law (he knows better—it was Ted Kennedy, Joe Biden and Pres. Jimmy Carter who are responsible for the law).

I’m not going to tell you what Rebel Pundit has unearthed—-read it yourself!

Our archive on Grover Norquist is here.

Grover Norquist is at it again! Pushing for more immigration for America, fewer jobs for American workers

The great American tax guru (as a traitor to middle class workers) is busy lobbying again for more cheap labor for his business clients.  In February he goes to Lincoln, Nebraska for a big pow-wow that includes big business interests and representatives of religious and progressive groups.

Bring in the Muslims! The Brotherhood too! http://www.frontpagemag.com/2012/raymond-ibrahim/a-disturbing-event-the-american-conservative-union-embraces-an-islamist/

To our many new readers:  Truthfully, I am sick of writing about Norquist (our lengthy archive on Norquist is here) who I first mentioned at RRW in 2007 when he was running around Washington DC demanding that the US start bringing in the Iraqi ‘refugees’ (most of whom we have learned since are Muslim Iraqis).

More recently we wrote about his cabal of Republican (RINOs) promoting more refugee resettlement to America with cheers from Human Rights First.

Note that Jeb Bush us part of Norquist’s gang of ten.

Before you read about the latest Norquist campaign, be sure to read what former Rep. Frank Wolf said about him on the House floor in 2011 when Wolf questioned his Muslim (and other unsavory) connections (see my post at Potomac Tea Party Report).

Reader Robin sent me this news about the busy business lobbyist, Mr. Norquist, in Washington this week, here at Politico.

That news item leads us to the Lincoln Journal Star story.

Grover Norquist, a national conservative leader with a big streak of renegade in him, is coming to Lincoln to promote immigration reform, which he supports primarily on economic grounds.

Norquist is president of Americans for Tax Reform, an advocacy group he founded in 1985 at President Ronald Reagan’s request. ATR works to limit the size and cost of government and opposes higher taxes at the federal, state and local levels.  [How about the taxpayers who foot the bill for $billions for refugees each year?—ed]

His conservative credentials include his membership on the boards of the National Rifle Association of America and the American Conservative Union.

His most famous quote is: “My goal is to cut government in half in 25 years, to get it down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub.”

Newt Gingrich called Norquist “the person who I regard as the most innovative, creative, courageous and entrepreneurial leader of the anti-tax efforts and of conservative grassroots activism in America. … He has truly made a difference and truly changed American history.”

But Norquist parts ways with many conservatives on the issue of immigration.

In an essay he wrote in 2013 for The Guardian, Norquist wrote, “People are an asset, not a liability. The United States is the most immigrant-friendly nation in the world and the richest country in the world. This is not a coincidence. Those voices that would make us less immigrant-friendly would make us less successful, less prosperous and certainly less American.”

He endorsed immigration reform legislation that would allow 11 million undocumented immigrants to earn legal status by submitting to a background check to weed out those with felony convictions, and paying taxes and a fine.

[….]

Norquist was invited to speak at an invitation-only reception and dinner Feb. 2 at Lincoln Station by a coalition of businesses, people, lawyers and interest groups: the Nebraska Restaurant Association, the Nebraska Retail Federation, Nebraska Cattlemen Association, League of Women Voters of Lancaster County, Prairie Fire — The Progressive Voice of the Great Plains, Brown Immigration Law LLC of Lincoln and Justice for Our Neighbors of Nebraska, a nonprofit in Omaha.

Amazing how these groups are so willing to follow Norquist’s lead, do they have any idea who they are following?

Norquist and the disastrous Arab Spring!

I just came across this interesting little nugget:  Did you know that Norquist was one of the “smart” people asked to weigh in on who should be Time’s Person of the Year in 2011.  Look who Norquist nominated—Mohamed Bouazizi—good choice I guess if you are a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer (as their fortunes were rising).  However, didn’t work out too well for them ultimately, did it?  And, why should Norquist, a defender of the taxpayer, care so much about what was happening in Egypt?

Conservative lobbyist Grover Norquist nominated the Tunisian vegetable vendor whose horrific self-immolation Norquist credits with setting off the revolutions that would become known as the Arab Spring. Norquist said, “I think he set off something that wouldn’t have happened without his act, at least not when it did.”

Do you live in Lincoln?  Looking for something to do on Feb. 2nd—you should be out there protesting Norquist (the darling of the US Chamber of Commerce)!

Note to Nebraskans!  Our top post in recent days has been this one about Syrian Muslims being resettled in Nebraska.

Senator Jeff Sessions immigration handbook!

If you haven’t seen it, see the champion for workers of America handbook on the immigration crisis facing our country.  Between progressive open borders advocates and big business, no one but Sessions is standing for the squeezed American worker!

Senator Rand Paul has a lot of nerve to question French immigration policy!

How can a man whose own home town was traumatized by the arrest of Muslim refugee terrorists, and whose home state of Kentucky is a prime US State Department resettlement site for Somali, Iraqi, Burmese and soon-to-arrive Syrian Muslims have the audacity to tell the French that they need to re-think their immigration policy!

Frankly, I had a lot of hope for Senator Paul a few years ago when he raised some hell in Washington over how those two Iraqi (now convicted and in prison) terrorists slipped through Homeland Security’s hands (they lied on refugee applications, big surprise!) when one of them had fingerprints on IED fragments from Iraq.  He is the only Senator I have seen even make a peep about the Refugee Program.

Maybe I’m the only one who remembers Senator Paul’s brief stand!  See posts here here, here and here.   After 2013 (what! when 2016 was around the corner?) it sure sounds like Paul himself erased concerns for Kentucky and America right out of his mind!

Grover Norquist and Senator Rand Paul. For your own good Paul, get away from Norquist! Photo: http://www.frontpagemag.com/2014/dgreenfield/norquist-bloomberg-and-rand-paul-team-up-for-dont-call-it-amnesty/

Why doesn’t Senator Rand Paul get it—if he came out strongly right now about American security as it relates to LEGAL and illegal immigration he would have a shot at the Presidency in 2016!

This is the news that got me steamed this morning.  From CNN:

(CNN)Sen. Rand Paul thinks that France needs to rethink its immigration policy in light of the recent terror attacks.

The Kentucky Republican said Thursday that intelligence and surveillance tactics should still be employed to prevent terrorism, but argued “there’s some policy changes, though, that could be better.”

“I think also you got to secure your country. That means maybe that every Muslim immigrant that wishes to come to France shouldn’t have an open door to come,” he said on Sean Hannity’s radio show, referring to Islamic radicalization in Europe.

Paul suggested such policy be considered by France and “many of these other countries that had old colonies in predominantly Muslim areas.”

He does throw in a comment about our border security and student visas (big deal), but more than any other Senator in Washington, maybe even more than Senator Jeff Sessions (who doesn’t say much about refugees), Paul knows about the dangers and the cost of our refugee program.

Paul, a potential presidential contender, argued that “it’s also my concern here,” saying the U.S. border “is a danger to attack” and criticizing what he described as a poorly monitored student visa program.

See our extensive archive on Kentucky and its many problems with refugees, here.  Paul’s home town of Bowling Green was until recently a preferred resettlement site!‘  Sometime after 2009 it was taken off the list, why? because it is so overloaded with refugees that the feds and their resettlement contractors are now focusing on other Kentucky cities like Louisville (where they eat camels!).

About the photo and Senator Paul’s association with Grover Norquist.  In 2007 Norquist (Americans for Tax Reform) was promoting, with his inside-the-beltway Republicans, the idea of bringing in Iraqi refugees.  More recently Norquist and Suhail Kahn ginned-up a letter from a group of RINOs to bring in more refugees generally.

Jeb Bush signed that letter asking that we resettle MORE refugees.

Note to Paul—get away from Grover Norquist!

Human rights activists complain about stricter asylum rules…

….but don’t get too excited about the possibility that the Obama Administration is seeing the light because as we learned last week, thousands of illegals who entered the country this past summer aren’t even showing up for court!

Thousands have just disappeared into the woodwork of America presumably planning to wait it out until Obama and Congress give them amnesty!

From the Wall Street Journal (hat tip Richard):

Watch Eleanor Acer of Human Rights First testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Asylum fraud last February. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mxDxtHAszU

Immigrants who enter the country illegally are becoming less likely to be deemed eligible for asylum, as federal authorities tighten standards amid an increase in Central American migrants this year.

As an initial step to request asylum, apprehended migrants who say they are scared to go back to their home country are screened to determine if they have “credible fear” of persecution or torture. In July, the most recent month available, 63% of those who claimed they were afraid to return were found to have met that criterion, down from 83% six months earlier, according to a report released to immigrant-rights groups by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The decline comes after the agency’s Asylum Division toughened the criteria its officers use during the interviews. The goal of the new guidelines, according to an agency official, is to ensure that immigrants with little to no chance of obtaining asylum in immigration court are quickly sent home.

Immigrant advocates say the tougher screening criteria are preventing many immigrants from being able to make a case for asylum before a judge.

“It’s turning away people who may very well have been entitled to asylum protection,” said Eleanor Acer, refugee protection director at Human Rights First, a New York-based nonprofit group.

The Asylum Division is one of many federal agencies that have been taxed by an influx of tens of thousands of immigrants who have illegally entered the country from Central America this year, many saying they were seeking refuge from gang violence and poverty. From October to June, the Asylum Division received 36,334 credible-fear claims from immigrants, surpassing the 36,035 in the 12 months of fiscal 2013, data from the office shows. Immigrants from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras accounted for the majority of the claims.

The office is responsible for screening migrants apprehended at the border, asking, for example, whether they are being persecuted because they belong to a specific social group or feel threatened because of their race or religion. If their claims are credible, the immigrants are referred to immigration court, where a judge ultimately decides whether they qualify for asylum or other protection. Immigrants who go through that process, which can take years, are sometimes released in the U.S. until their cases are resolved.

Unaccompanied children arriving from Central America don’t go through the credible-fear process, as they are routed to the court system directly.

Now be sure to see Hot Air last week where we learned that 70% of the families ordered to appear for a hearing never showed up!

DHS secret revealed: Tens of thousands of illegals released during the border crisis didn’t show up for their immigration hearings

Big smooch from Eleanor to Grover!

About the photo and Acer’s testimony to Congress:  I had to laugh when I watched the clip because she praises and enters into the record the Grover Norquist/Suhail Khan Republicans-want-more-refugees letter which we reported here.
