Angry about Paris? Time for a moratorium on Muslim migration to America? Start with cutting the funds for it!

Mark Steyn said the “M” word (actually both of them!)—Moratorium and Muslim just a few minutes ago on Fox News (here).
We all know why Europe and France specifically are in the horrible place they are in now (being invaded and attacked from within) and it is because they have long “welcomed” Islamic Shariah-loving migrants to live among them.

So how do we get that MORATORIUM?

Eleanor Acer
Eleanor Acer of Human Rights First is lobbying Congress at this very minute to add a billion dollars to federal funding for MORE Syrian refugees to be admitted to the US! A billion dollars would nearly double what the Obama Administration is asking for. http://thehill.com/blogs/congress-blog/foreign-policy/259867-appropriations-funding-for-syrian-refugees

You can get it by starting with the Muslim migration occurring through the Refugee Admissions Program between now and December 11th when Congress must vote on the funding for the program for 2016.

I was in Washington this week to brief Hill staffers along with Don Barnett (a Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies) at the invitation of ACT for America about the UN/US State Department refugee resettlement program.  (I am going to post the handout I presented, but Paris has now intervened, will do it over the weekend).
The conclusion from several meetings we had was that—there is only one place at this very minute where you can direct your anger and your hard work—-and that is at Congress (both the House and the Senate) and at the funding for the migration!

Tell them to cut the funding for the US Refugee Admissions Program NOW!

Bills such as Rep. Babin’s and Rep. Michael McCaul’s are a good start for next year, but to really send a message from the American people, make Congress use its POWER OF THE PURSE!
And, btw, the No Borders agitators (like Eleanor Acer in photo) are busy just this week praising Senators Lindsey Graham and Patrick Leahy who will be seeking to put a billion dollars into the funding package coming up in early December for MORE Syrian refugees!
Call your Members of Congress, your US Senators and all in the leadership—Senator Mitch McConnell (KY is the leading state getting Syrian refugees right now!), Speaker Paul Ryan, and members of all key committees—tell them to cut the money for the US Refugee Admissions Program right now until they can assure America’s security!
And, don’t tell me that that is “unreasonable.” Our job is to tell them what we want and what we want them to do, not to figure out what sounds like a reasonable proposal or to help the squishy ones with their talking points and their images!
***Update*** How could I forget—the powerful Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Charles Grassley, has already called for a halt to funding for the program!

Calling Senator Ted Cruz!

If you are a Senator Cruz fan, this is his chance to show leadership when the Senate takes up 2016 funding very soon.  (Of the Presidential candidates, you know for sure Marco Rubio won’t do it, but maybe Rand Paul will take a leadership role especially since Kentucky is a leading Syrian resettlement state).
Endnote!  It isn’t just mostly Syrian Muslims entering the US as refugees but thousands are coming from Iraq, Somalia, Burma and Afghanistan to name just a few sending countries.

Propaganda campaign to bring 65,000 Syrians to your towns heating up!

Somehow I must make everyone of you understand how critical this is right now.
The refugee resettlement contractors, the humanitarian industrial complex, the United Nations and 14 US Senators (the Jihad Caucus!) are working day and night to tell the world that America is bad because we have not opened the floodgates to tens of thousands of UN-chosen, mostly Sunni Muslim refugees!

Director Human Rights First: We want 65,000 Syrians admitted to the US NOW! The fact that the US has not started the flow in a big way is a huge embarrassment to the “humanitarians” and to the UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Here is one more story, this time at IRIN (a “humanitarian” news outlet connected to the UN) entitled: ‘How US is failing Syrian refugees.’

Human rights groups, members of Congress and city planners are among those trying to persuade President Barack Obama to allow more Syrians to settle here. However, security concerns, anti-immigration sentiment and bureaucratic hurdles all stand in the way.

It has taken the world a long time to acknowledge that most of the 12 million Syrians displaced – inside and outside their country – by the five-year civil war will not be going home anytime soon. Neighbours Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey have absorbed nearly four million Syrians between them. Other countries have been slower to step up to the plate, particularly in terms of pledging to take some of the 88,000 Syrian refugees allocated for resettlement by the UN’s refugee agency, UNHCR.

Twenty-eight countries have so far agreed to take in 62,000 of them – with Germany taking nearly half.

These are phony baloney numbers.  I’ve been watching the European situation and there is a lot of talk about Germany accepting tens of thousands of Syrians, but it has not happened!   And, besides, Germany says it isn’t going to take them permanently, as we do, but wants them to return to Syria at some point in the future.

Also, the UN wants some countries, especially the US, to start the flow in a big way so they can guilt-trip other countries into following suit.  It is important that you help stop this madness!

The US has not committed to a specific number, but Larry Yungk, senior resettlement officer with UNHCR in Washington, said it is expected to take in only 35 percent of the 13,000 individual cases submitted for consideration by his agency. The protracted US security clearance process, which involves additional checks for Syrians, means it is likely to be at least another two years before the refugees set foot on American soil.

“This is just too little and too slow for a country that should be a global leader,” said Eleanor Acer, from Human Rights First, which is advocating for the US to take in 65,000 Syrian refugees by the end of 2016.

Read it all.

The article goes on to promote that dumb idea of bringing 50,000 Syrians to re-populate Detroit!

I don’t care how hopeless your representatives in Washington may be, but please, please express your concerns to them!

Please everyone reading this, call your Member of Congress and Senators starting today and continue next week.  Tell them NO—do not admit Syrian Muslim refugees who will, of course, be planted in your towns and cities across the entire country!

See my latest Youtube video and send it to everyone you know. It is short and explains to Americans what they need to do and why.

Human rights activists complain about stricter asylum rules…

….but don’t get too excited about the possibility that the Obama Administration is seeing the light because as we learned last week, thousands of illegals who entered the country this past summer aren’t even showing up for court!

Thousands have just disappeared into the woodwork of America presumably planning to wait it out until Obama and Congress give them amnesty!

From the Wall Street Journal (hat tip Richard):

Watch Eleanor Acer of Human Rights First testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Asylum fraud last February. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mxDxtHAszU

Immigrants who enter the country illegally are becoming less likely to be deemed eligible for asylum, as federal authorities tighten standards amid an increase in Central American migrants this year.

As an initial step to request asylum, apprehended migrants who say they are scared to go back to their home country are screened to determine if they have “credible fear” of persecution or torture. In July, the most recent month available, 63% of those who claimed they were afraid to return were found to have met that criterion, down from 83% six months earlier, according to a report released to immigrant-rights groups by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

The decline comes after the agency’s Asylum Division toughened the criteria its officers use during the interviews. The goal of the new guidelines, according to an agency official, is to ensure that immigrants with little to no chance of obtaining asylum in immigration court are quickly sent home.

Immigrant advocates say the tougher screening criteria are preventing many immigrants from being able to make a case for asylum before a judge.

“It’s turning away people who may very well have been entitled to asylum protection,” said Eleanor Acer, refugee protection director at Human Rights First, a New York-based nonprofit group.

The Asylum Division is one of many federal agencies that have been taxed by an influx of tens of thousands of immigrants who have illegally entered the country from Central America this year, many saying they were seeking refuge from gang violence and poverty. From October to June, the Asylum Division received 36,334 credible-fear claims from immigrants, surpassing the 36,035 in the 12 months of fiscal 2013, data from the office shows. Immigrants from El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras accounted for the majority of the claims.

The office is responsible for screening migrants apprehended at the border, asking, for example, whether they are being persecuted because they belong to a specific social group or feel threatened because of their race or religion. If their claims are credible, the immigrants are referred to immigration court, where a judge ultimately decides whether they qualify for asylum or other protection. Immigrants who go through that process, which can take years, are sometimes released in the U.S. until their cases are resolved.

Unaccompanied children arriving from Central America don’t go through the credible-fear process, as they are routed to the court system directly.

Now be sure to see Hot Air last week where we learned that 70% of the families ordered to appear for a hearing never showed up!

DHS secret revealed: Tens of thousands of illegals released during the border crisis didn’t show up for their immigration hearings

Big smooch from Eleanor to Grover!

About the photo and Acer’s testimony to Congress:  I had to laugh when I watched the clip because she praises and enters into the record the Grover Norquist/Suhail Khan Republicans-want-more-refugees letter which we reported here.

Human Rights First legal team arriving in Houston in the nick of time!

Mostly men from Central America ‘saved’ from Houston “stash house.” http://www.click2houston.com/news/photos-more-than-100-immigrants-in-suspected-stash-house/25055884

Surely you heard the news about 100 plus Central American illegal aliens held in a “stash house” in Houston this week.  The story broke a couple of days ago, coincidentally about the same time that Human Rights First announced its new legal office would be opening in, wait for it, Houston!

You can bet most of these 100 ‘persecuted’ Central Americans will be looking to file asylum claims—a growing worldwide racket!  Human Rights First will be there to help.

We wrote about the invasion of Europe this week, this is the invasion of America!

From the Houston Chronicle (op-ed from HRF):

Houston asylum seekers! We are on our way!

Asylum seekers in Houston come from dozens of countries – from Honduras to Congo, from Belarus to Bhutan. They are victims of torture, survivors of genocide, women fleeing the threat of rape, honor killings and sometimes brutal domestic violence, former political prisoners, or minorities persecuted because of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. The United States has a well-deserved reputation for welcoming persecuted refugees. But we fall short when they are left to sort out their legal status without the help of a lawyer.

Some 75 percent of immigrants detained in Houston have no legal representation; the rate is only somewhat better for those who are not detained. This in a system where having a lawyer can mean all the difference. Houston’s eight legal service providers are overstretched, and most do not specialize in helping refugees seeking asylum.

To help meet this urgent need, the nonprofit Human Rights First is bringing its award-winning pro bono operation to Houston. Human Rights First has more than three decades of experience in this field. Through a proven partnership with private law firms, it recruits and trains attorneys to represent asylum seekers on a pro bono basis. Often, the relationships between refugees and their lawyers are mutually beneficial – lifesaving for refugees, and life-changing for lawyers.

Houston’s generous civic spirit and the array of leading law firms makes it a perfect place for Human Rights First to expand. And South Texas College of Law in downtown Houston is the perfect place for Human Rights First’s newest home.

‘Human Rights First’ praises ten open-borders REPUBLICANS who say ‘bring in the refugees!’

Bring in the Muslims! The Brotherhood too!
http://www.frontpagemag.com/2012/raymond-ibrahim/a-disturbing-event-the-american-conservative-union-embraces-an-islamist/

Or, in the case of Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan maybe it means ‘bring in the Muslims!’

Update February 12th:  Just released by the Center for Security Policy—The Islamist enablers, the case against Grover Norquist and Suhail Khan, here.

These open-borders Republicans must be mad as hell that Boehner and the boys backed-off of so-called ‘comprehensive immigration reform’ for this year and thus limited the flow of legal cheap labor!

From Human Rights First (hat tip: Richard Falknor of Blue Ridge Forum):

Washington, D.C. –   As Republican leaders in Congress work through the party’s immigration reform priorities, ten of the nation’s most prominent Republican leaders released a statement today that urges the party to recommit to upholding the United States’ position as an international leader in protecting refugees fleeing oppression and seeking asylum.   The statement is signed by former U.S. Secretary of Commerce Carlos Gutierrez; former Florida Governor Jeb Bushformer Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Tom Ridge Kansas Governor Sam Brownback; former Senator Mel MartinezGrover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform;   Suhail A. Khan, chairman of the Conservative Inclusion Coalition; Jim Ziglar, former Commissioner of the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS); Alberto Mora, former General Counsel of the Navy; and Dr. Paula Dobriansky, former Under Secretary of State for Democracy and Global Affairs .

“The United States has granted asylum and provided resettlement to thousands of refugees who have fled political, religious, ethnic, racial, and other persecution,” wrote the Republican leaders. “In some cases, they are people who stood with America, against tyranny, even when it was dangerous or unpopular in their own country.”

Today’s statement challenges American leaders to uphold the nation’s promise to oppressed people who yearn to live in freedom by expressing their commitment to the following principles:

*Fair and enforceable immigration laws that reflect our national interests and uphold core American values;
*Protection for refugees fleeing from persecution and elimination of unnecessary barriers and challenges that are preventing legitimate refugees from entering the country;
*A fair and timely decision-making process for those seeking refuge; and
*Implementation of the recommendations of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom.

The statement recalls the leading role the Republican Party has taken in these efforts.  [They use Reagan’s “shining city on a hill.”—ed]

[….]

The signatories noted, “It should be obvious to all that our immigration system is in dire need of an overhaul,” adding, “We must have fair and enforceable immigration laws that reflect our national interest and uphold core American values and our history as a country committed to humane treatment and dignity of the individual.”

Their full statement is hereVery useful of the Republican refugee lobbyists to identify themselves!

We have an extensive archive here and at Potomac Tea Party Report on Grover Norquist (both go back for many years).  Someday all of those who got too close to Norquist will be running for the hills!

Related:  Another open-borders Republican is George Will.  I happened to catch Laura Ingraham and Will having the most heated discussion I’ve ever seen on Fox News Sunday, two days ago, here.  Will was arguing for the need for laborers and Ingraham asked ‘why have borders at all?’  He dodged the question.
