North Carolina (again): How your tax dollars support ethnic activist groups

The timing of this $500,000 grant announcement from the Office of Refugee Resettlement to a local non-profit group for refugees from the DR Congo is so interesting—days before North Carolina could choose the next President of the US. (See yesterday’s post about North Carolina, here.)

It has been awhile since I’ve written about ETHNIC COMMUNITY SELF-HELP GRANTS.
Think about this, besides the fact that the federal grant encourages ethnic separation and non-assimilation by being geared, in this case in NC, to refugees from the DR Congo, your money is used to give special refugees (make work!) jobs and if this one operates as others have in the past, it encourages political involvement for their ethnic group.
I look at these non-profits as little ACORNS (remember ACORN). They purport to be helping the poor (in special ethnic groups) and then they help them vote and become politically active for ‘their community.’ If you have ethnic community organizers working where you live, find out if they are being funded by you.

There is absolutely no need for this grant program from the Office of Refugee Resettlement. And, I wonder under what legal authority the feds have to pass out your money in this discriminatory fashion.

They already hire the nine major contractors and their hundreds of subcontractors to get the refugees settled. There is no need for spin-off non-profits being run with your money! Imagine the firestorm (!) if we wanted federal bucks (community organizing money) to organize a European-American ethnic support group! Or, how about North Carolina Trailer Park Redneck Residents for Justice! (I love rednecks and ‘deplorables’, why not organizing bucks for them/us?)
Before I get to this one from North Carolina, see this list of $millions in grant money for special groups of people (no wonder African Americans notice that immigrants are getting more stuff than they are).
Here is the news about the Raleigh Immigrant Community (LOL! timing of grant announcement is amusing!) from the Daily Tarheel:

The Raleigh Immigrant Community (RIC) started a program to help immigrants in the Triangle area after receiving a $500,000 grant from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement.

The RIC began as a community adjustment support group for refugees from the Democratic Republic of the Congo that met through the UNC Refugee Mental Health and Wellness Initiative. They started meeting in January 2015 and became an official nonprofit in April 2016.

The RIC received the ethnic community self-help grant from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement. The grant will give them half a million dollars over three years. [get that federal money out now before a possible Trump Admin comes in!—ed]

I haven’t written much about them in recent years, but when you hear about the over a billion in tax dollars that ORR wants to run their programs, know that grants like this (for special people) are why it is so costly.

Why is North Carolina a swing state while South Carolina is still RED?

It is because the demographic change (remember they are changing America by changing the people) is far advanced in North Carolina while it is only beginning in South Carolina.

Of course all that will change for SC in a few years as Republicans like Senator Lindsey Graham and Rep. Trey Gowdy are making little to no effort to hold the line in terms of the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program, and Graham himself was one of the Senate ‘Gang of Eight’ that pushed through an amnesty bill for illegal aliens a couple of years ago.
I don’t understand how Rs like Graham don’t see that as the immigrant population grows it will be attracted to the Democrat Party which promises to keep their welfare goodies flowing and will ultimately lead to the downfall of the Republican Party in states like his.
But, it isn’t SC I want to tell you about.

Trump and Clinton going to North Carolina today!

***Update*** November 4th: 1/2 million federal grant to encourage ethnic separation awarded in Raleigh.
I’ve wondered how North Carolina, the land of Senator Jesse Helms, is now a toss-up state and today as both Hillary and Trump head there, we see very clearly that it is a traditional red state turning blue and both parties are fighting for it.
So, I did a little numbers research. And, I am not saying that there are enough refugee voters to swing the election, but the vast disparity between the states is stunning. Also, NC has obviously thrown out the welcome mat to illegal aliens. (Note in my previous post that it is clearly in the top ten for the placement of the ‘unaccompanied alien children.’)
All of the following data can be found at the Refugee Processing Center. And, I found a bit more at an ORR annual report to Congress.
From 1983 to 2001, North Carolina resettled 16,640 refugees, while South Carolina only got 1,925.
Then from FY 2003 to FY 2016 the states break down this way: NC (27,748) and SC (2,042).

Total refugee tally for NC is roughly 44,388 to SC’s 3,967.

(In between those two documents, I was too lazy to look up 2002, but you get the idea).
So, I am maintaining that it is the influx of vastly more immigrants and refugees to North Carolina than South Carolina that makes the difference—why NC is turning blue and SC isn’t (yet!).

Then I found this stunning. From FY2003 to FY2016, North Carolina received refugees from the following 56 countries. This list does not include illegal alien-sending countries like Mexico and some from Central and South America. Can you imagine the problems with languages in the medical system, the school system and the criminal justice system!

Where were they placed?
I started to look at all the towns and cities and when I got to 35 I quit. Bottomline, I bet there were at least 50-60 towns and cities in North Carolina that received refugees. Maybe only a couple in some towns, but they were very widely distributed and surely helped destroy community cohesiveness.
Eight of the nine major resettlement contractors are operating (competing!) in North Carolina. The only one missing is the International Rescue Committee. Go here for office locations.
The wild card for Trump and Clinton is whether the African American community there gets it—that they are being out-competed in the job market by tens of thousands of refugees pouring in to the state. And, if Hillary is elected there will never be a slowdown.

NC Rep confirms it: The buck stops with him and others in Congress

I’m not sure that Rep. Mark Meadows’ goal in holding the town hall in the Ashville area last night was to direct his constituents right back to him and other members of Congress when it comes to stopping, slowing, or putting on steroids the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program, but that is what he did with these comments.

Rep. Mark Meadows answers questions about refugee program in his district. Will he be one of the leaders to remove funding for refugee resettlement in funding battles this fall?

The President, Obama, can make determinations all he wants about how many refugees the US tax payer will pay for next year, but it is Congress that supplies the cold hard cash for the federal agencies (both the US State Department and the Dept. of Health and Human Services).
Bringing in large numbers of refugees obviously requires more money!

So, the question this fall will be this: Will Speaker Paul Ryan and the Republicans fully fund the Obama invasion or not? It is that simple!

Here is the news about the town hall meeting. The article doesn’t say it, but it sounds like most of those present OPPOSE more refugees for the US (and none for their community!).

FLAT ROCK, N.C. — Congressman Mark Meadows held a town hall Tuesday night to discuss efforts to resettle Syrian refugees in our area.

International Rescue Committee, a resettlement agency, said it is still looking at Asheville. Meadows said Saint James Episcopal Church in Hendersonville is backing off the idea, in part, because of the community reaction.

One man said the money was better spent on Americans. [A sentiment we hear everywhere.—ed]

“I just feel that we have enough people now that we have to take care of,” Tom Mcrary Jr., from Brevard, said.

Meadows explained the money for refugees comes from the U.S. State Department. Once the money is budgeted to the State Department, it cannot be moved to another department.

Well, Rep. Meadows don’t give it to the State Department this fall! The State Department doesn’t grow it on trees, you appropriate it to them!

Meadows informed the crowd refugee resettlement is a federal program, and state legislators cannot prevent refugees from coming.

But, you can Mr. Meadows! Will you?

See Refugee program is major issue for November election! Your member of Congress is home right now (for the next two weeks) and every one of them is up for re-election. Find them and ask them if they will be funding Obama’s invasion or not!

Asheville, North Carolina! You are next! Federal refugee contractor has come to town

There were some other things to write about this morning, but here we are, once again, telling you about the latest town targeted by the UN/US State Department and the International Rescue Committee to be the among the new sites for placement of mostly Middle Eastern and African refugees.

And, the amazing thing is that there are apparently no efforts being made to hide the fact that one of the drivers of this effort is the need by some hotel chains (planning new hotels in the area) for maids and janitors.
Note to ‘humanitarians:’ you are being used!

ASHEVILLE – A global aid and humanitarian organization is exploring the possibility of making Western North Carolina a resettlement site for refugees.

Representatives from the International Rescue Committee met with local residents at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation on Wednesday to discuss the feasibility of a preliminary plan to relocate 150 people fleeing persecution in their home countries to the Asheville region.

If plans move forward, the first household could come as early as next spring, J.D. McCrary, executive director of the IRC office in Atlanta, told the crowd of more than 50 people. Others would arrive over the ensuing 12 months, he said.

Just like everywhere else, the IRC has been holding meetings and greasing the skids BEFORE word got out to the citizens of Asheville.

Donald Trump is right about the Chamber of Commerce—it is not friendly to conservatives and those who have concerns about immigration and preserving jobs for Americans!

The IRC has been meeting with city and county officials, as well as other interested stakeholders such as the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce, throughout the week, McCrary said.

“I am happy to tell you that your community is very, very welcoming.” he said. “This is a wonderful, wonderful town and you should be very proud of that. “

Available, affordable housing might be the greatest hurdle to a viable resettlement, McCrary said. There are jobs here. Some 1,700 new hotel rooms are coming in the next year and those hotels need workers.

The heck with “marginalized” African-American citizens!

Some worried how a local resettlement would impact Asheville’s already marginalized African-American and Hispanic communities. Others wondered if Asheville could meet the needs of a resettlement.

And, you need to especially pay attention to what happened when the IRC tried to open an office in Athens, GA. Here is just one post with links to follow. McCrary arrogantly said the feds would decide if there were going to be third-worlders resettled in Athens and not the Democrat mayor!
Remember readers this is all happening because Obama is dramatically increasing the numbers of refugees admitted to the US and he is assuming that Hillary will be elected and will put the program on steroids, so the federal resettlement contractors are all out scouting new towns (having worn out their welcome in some of the 200 or so other towns and cities they are flooding).
I think they also are assuming that if they get dozens of new offices opened, it will be harder (should Trump win) to get them all closed probably for years as the new administration gets settled in. And, by then the seed community has been planted!

In my 9 years of writing about refugees I have not seen such a huge campaign to expand the number of towns to be seeded (colonized!).

Add Asheville to our growing list which includes Missoula, MT, Ithaca, NY, Radford, VA, Reno, NV, Rutland, VT, Fayetteville, AR, and Charleston, WV (am I forgetting any?) which I have written about in recent months.

North Carolina: Craven County considering resolution to block some refugees from the county

They should add Burma to their list of countries of concern!

We just told readers all about the resolution here at American Resistance 2016! But, I wanted to give you some basic numbers for New Bern, the county seat, and didn’t want to make that post too long!

The primary resettlement contractor in New Bern is ‘Interfaith Refugee Ministry’ another so-called ‘religious’ non-profit that is being paid by the head to bring refugees of all ethnic and religious backgrounds to coastal New Bern. It is a subcontractor of one of the big nine—Episcopal Migration Ministries.
New Bern made the news last year when a Burmese refugee hacked to death three little boys. See our post here. (So much for “robust” screening!). Be sure to see that post because at that time we looked up some financial information on Interfaith Refugee Ministry and it is posted there.
Also, the county’s US Congressman (Rep. Walter Jones) has been one of the leaders on The Hill in trying to rein-in the refugee program, see here.
I wanted to see exactly how many refugees New Bern was getting so checked the US State Department data base, here. Because of a lack of time, I didn’t look up any other towns that might be in Craven County.
These are the numbers for those being resettled in New Bern from January 1, 2009 until January 1, 2016 (Obama’s term so far). The whole state of North Carolina admitted 16,261 (I believe NC is in the top ten resettlement states in the nation, but did not check that for this post). The numbers below do not take into consideration those who might have come as secondary migrants to New Bern, or those who have left (refugees can leave right away if they want and no one pays any attention to where they go).

Vietnam (44)

Iraq (52)

Syria (3)

Commissioners should add Burma to their list!

When you check the county commissioners’ proposed resolution, here, note that Burma is not on the list of countries of concern, but it should be! We have admitted over 13,000 Rohingya Muslims from Burma to the US since 9/11, go here.
The US State Department has been mixing them in with the mostly Burmese Christians for resettlement and it has caused problems in several communities in the US.
