Is yours about to be a refugee 'welcoming' community? Call the mayor of Amarillo, TX first!

You know that overused definition of ‘insanity’ which says that when one does something over and over again and expects a different outcome, that is insane.  Well, that applies to the resettlement of refugees.
Please pay attention to the cities that have been overloaded with refugees for years—even decades—and they can’t get the flow slowed.  This will happen to your town!

harpole
Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole should get an award for heroism!

If you open your town or city to the arrival of a resettlement contractor (Missoula pay attention!), you will not be choosing who comes and how many.  Local taxpayers will bear the greatest burden especially in the school system. You will never be able to get the contractor to slow the flow of relatives they bring next.  And, if you complain, you will be vilified!
We have dozens and dozens of posts about cities where mayors have begged for a slowdown or better still a moratorium on the resettlement of refugees because they can no longer cope—usually it is the school system that begins to crash first—and get no significant relief from the US State Department and its money-hungry resettlement contractors.
Search RRW for Manchester, NH, Lynn and Springfield, Mass, or Amarillo, TX to see what I mean.
Here is the latest from Amarillo (a ‘pocket of resistance!’) where the mayor is taking his battle to a new level.  From Amarillo Globe-News:

Amarillo Mayor Paul Harpole took his decades-long knowledge about the city’s refugees — their progress and challenges — to state lawmakers last week and he plans to continue the discussion locally today.

Harpole testified last Thursday in Austin at a hearing on refugee resettlement programs before the State Senate Committee on Health and Human Services to address resettlement rates, language barriers in schools and an alleged lack of foresight from Washington.

He addressed what he called disparities between the resettlement rate in Amarillo and the rates of cities in Texas and elsewhere. He also repeated a claim he’s made several times.

“The City of Amarillo gets more refugees per 100,000 population than any city in the world,” Harpole testified before the committee.

Lack of required ‘consultations’ just more proof that this program has been operating in SECRECY for years.

And, since Congress has never policed the program, administrations (both Democrat and Republican) have gotten away with operating in secrecy for 35 plus years!

Another complaint Harpole took to Austin was Washington’s alleged lack of foresight on a national level.

“What the Senators are talking about is why the federal government gives the state no control over this and no insight,” Harpole said. “And now the [US] State Department says we should have been having community consultation meetings and coordinating meetings every three months, and it’s been in place for years.”

Georgia refugee agency worried about Trump Presidency

Ted Terry
Clarkston Mayor Ted Terry building a microcosm of our future world right there in Georgia. Yippee! https://twitter.com/tedterry1

For those of you in ‘pockets of resistance’ in Georgia, have a look at this article.
I don’t have time to say much, just want everyone to know that federal refugee contractors (like New American Pathways) are shaking in their boots because they may be ripped off the government teat if Donald Trump is elected President.  We can only dream!
From Global Atlanta (Title: Refugee Resettlement Agency Eyeing ‘Contingency Plan’ for Trump Presidency):

Ted Terry, mayor of Clarkston, Ga., has taken up a banner of hospitality and integration, despite opposition he has faced from vocal critics worried about things like job displacement and even the establishment of Shariah law on U.S. soil.

[….]

“In Clarkston, we are providing sort of a microcosm of what the world may very well look like in the future,” Mr. Terry said.

So why aren’t they worried about a Ted Cruz presidency?  Just asking.

Two (more) state legislatures attempting to wrest some control from feds for refugee resettlement

South Carolina moved one step closer recently to advance a bill to try to get some control over who is being resettled in the state, and in Michigan bills were introduced to do the same.
I know it should be my job to explain the ins and outs of the various bills and attempt to predict what will happen with them, but honestly I don’t have the will power (or the legal skills!) to sort through it all.  So, instead, I’ll give you a couple of news accounts from this week (AB–After Belgium) for you to read yourself.
South Carolina…

Mark Wineka/Salisbury Post Ted Goins, president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Services Carolinas, headquartered in Salisbury, oversees an organization of more than 1,600 employees and an annual budget of about $115 million.
Ted Goins, CEO of Lutheran Services Carolinas told Think Progress: “South Carolina has a long history of welcoming those seeking refuge…” Well, actually no it doesn’t, it is one of the least refugee-populated states in the US (up until now).

First, check out what Think Progress says about the South Carolina initiative.  The closest they come to mentioning that Lutheran Social Services is a government contractor is to say they have been “tasked” with the job of getting refugees established in the state. No mention of the millions of your tax dollars paying them for their ‘task.’
Needless to say, if the South Carolina bill would become law, it will have a chilling effect on resettlement in the state as the Lutheran federal contractor could be held liable for crimes committed by their clients.
It is good to read publications like Think Progress from time to time.  You know it is a publication of the Center for American Progress (Soros, Clinton, John Podesta).
There is another article with wailing and moaning about the bill here.  For once, the contractors are on the defense.
Then there is the new effort in Michigan.
See Leo Hohmann writing at World Net Daily yesterday for the skinny on that pushback.
After telling us all the troubles Michigan is having with a rapidly expanding Muslim population, he reports that a citizens group (a pocket of resistance) has formed to push back.   Here is WND:
Dearborn_Mosque_Michigan
Mosques are mushrooming in Michigan, this one in Dearborn.

That is sparking an organized backlash from Michigan residents.

A citizens’ group called Secure Michigan has formed as a watchdog over the refugee resettlement program in the state. Secure Michigan issued a statement Tuesday after the jihadist attack on Brussels, Belgium, that killed 34 people and injured 200. The statement urged Michigan GOP Gov. Rick Snyder to renew his opposition to President Obama’s Syrian refugee program.

Obama wants to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees in the U.S., about half of them in Michigan.

All of this has put pressure on state lawmakers to do something to slow down the flow of Third World refugees into Michigan.

State Rep. Jim Runestad, R-White Lake, has answered the call. He introduced legislation to make refugee placements in Michigan both safe and more transparent, while also giving local government a voice in the process as required by federal immigration law.

“House Bills 5528 and 5529 will protect both our communities and refugees entering our communities.

Montana writer: "…the U.S. to become welfare agency for the whole world."

Unfortunately this is one of those days where I have too many demands on my time to be able to write much.

Miliband and Hillary 'vibrant'
David Miliband, the former British Foreign Secretary (and bff Hillary), is the CEO of the International Rescue Committee which wants to seed Montana with third worlders. See Hillary’s big “crush” on Miliband, here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/11/16/does-hillary-clinton-have_n_359649.html

But, definitely wanted you to see this excellent opinion piece in the Montana Standard about the proposal to re-open refugee resettlement in the state of Montana.
As you know, Wyoming has never had a program, see our recent post by clicking here, but Montana had a tiny program that died nearly eight years ago.  Open borders activists are working now to re-open big sky country to third worlders.
This is Paul Nachman, a Montana citizen activist, who knows just how the program works and opposes it for the state.  Use this piece for guidance when writing letters-to-the-editor where you live.
Montana Standard:

First, refugee resettlement in the U.S. is hardly the work of private, sacrificial charity that one might expect from the names — such as Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, and Episcopal Migration Ministries — of prominent national “voluntary agencies,” or “volags,” involved.

Nachman goes on to discuss the International Rescue Committee (the refugee contractor that would like to open its doors in Montana), fraud in the program, and the expansion of the definition of who is a ‘refugee.’

Montanans FOR Muslim migration to the state rallied yesterday

In Missoula, at the “anti-hate” rally they heard from a Muslim man who has lived in the state for 20 years who said—too bad to those who oppose the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program, “We’re already here.”
The pro-Muslim refugee rally was held to respond to huge turnouts, by those questioning the economic and social costs the Refugee Program would bring Montana citizens and taxpayers, like this one in Kalispell last week.

Mayor of Missoula
Missoula Mayor John Engen welcomes refugees to Montana because his mom was a Norwegian immigrant! http://www.ci.missoula.mt.us/318/Mayor

From The Missoulian:

“I just would like to say as-salaam-alaikum, which in Arabic means ‘peace be with you’,” he said. “It’s a greeting which is said by six million Muslims in America and 1.6 billion people across the world. So whether you are Arab, Indonesian, Pakistani, Somali, whatever, we all say the same greeting. I have lived in America for 25 years. I refer you to one of the signs I saw that said ‘No entry to Muslims in Montana’. It’s too late. We’re already here.”

Missoula’s mayor, John Engen, spoke in support of Syrian Muslim refugee resettlement to the state and said he was the son of a Norwegian woman right “off the boat.”
News accounts don’t indicate that the Mayor had any concerns for the cost of the program to the city and state, but focused solely on an emotional  appeal about his immigrant roots.
Hmmm! I wondered if he has any clue about what is going on in Norway at the moment with the massive Muslim tide washing over Scandinavia.

My mother’s parents were off the boat,” he said. “And I’m separated by a generation of people who were off the boat. So many of us are separated by very little. And we have more in common than we imagine. And as we gather in a place like Caras Park on the first of March, we recognize that we have far more in common that we have that separates us.”

Maybe some good citizens of the state should send the mayor news stories from Norway.  Search for Norway and refugees and make sure Mayor Engen is enlightened about what is happening there as the good-hearted Norwegians discover the monster they have created.  Right at the top of the list as I google-searched just now is this story about refugees raping three-year-old boy.  Click here.
Hint! Middle Eastern and African refugees are not like Norwegians!
