Blacktown, Australia: a look into the future for your diverse American city?

Diversity is beautiful alert!  (Brought to you by failed do-gooder policies)

Blacktown City Council is a Refugee Welcome Zone! http://www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au/People_and_Community/Community_Development_Grants/Multicultural_Community

It’s a news story about a rape—a gang of Sudanese refugee boys raped a girl from Western Samoa and now the suburb of Sydney in New South Wales is in turmoil again with revenge on many people’s minds.

Racial tensions rise! From the Sydney Morning Herald (hat tip ‘pungentpeppers’).

The article opens with a report of what happened and that one arrest has been made so far.   We pick up with the sections of the story that report on efforts being made by those looking for “social cohesion” to calm the inflamed situation.  Not a race crime they are quick to say:

Community leaders hope the arrest will send a clear signal that the matter is best left in the hands of the authorities. At a hastily convened meeting earlier in the week, prompted by media coverage, the new police commander for Blacktown, Superintendent Gary Merryweather, youth leaders, school principals and social welfare agencies discussed how to get the message out that the alleged crime was not a race crime.

”There is not more of race crime here than anywhere else” says Susan Vogels, chief executive of migrant services organisation SydWest. ‘‘It’s just that Blacktown seems to be an easy hit, we get the reputation for it, and it’s very wearing because of all the work we are doing to ensure social cohesion.’’

OMG!  They think “harmony walks” will bring social cohesion!  If one were allowed to do a comedy skit of just such a walk it would be roll-on-the-floor funny!

One immediate outcome of the meeting was the resumption of the ‘‘harmony walks’’ begun by Superintendent Merryweather’s predecessor, Mark Wright, several years ago, when regular fights were flaring between bored young men from rival ethnic groups in the Blacktown area. On Thursday, local police set out on foot with high-profile leaders from the African and Pacific Islander communities, weaving through places frequented by youngsters.

184 different ethnic groups live in Blacktown!  They “find their way” to Australia from the world’s trouble spots!

Blacktown is the most heavily populated local government area in NSW. Its nearly 320,000 residents come from 184 different national and ethnic backgrounds. An estimated quarter of them are aged under 18. Some fleeing Syria’s carnage are starting to find their way to Blacktown.

‘They come from wherever the trouble spots in the world are,’’ says Ms Vogels, ‘‘and we try to assist them to become good, functioning citizens.’’

But she admits agencies like hers are ‘‘running on the smell of a greasy rag and that rag is getting less and less oil on it’’.

It’s about gangs—race not always a catalyst—say gang members.

Two teenage Sudanese boys who spoke to Fairfax Media behind a basketball court in Blacktown on Thursday evening said their weekends were consumed by drinking and fighting, although race was not always the catalyst.

‘‘It’s all about who your boys are,’’ said Deng, 16, whose surname has been withheld. ‘‘You gotta defend the area. You gotta defend the honour of Blacktown.’’ Adam, 17, says: ‘‘There’s Bloods, Crips, Lalor Park boys, Bidwill boys.’’

Now, that bad ‘ol conservative government has cut the funds for pet programs (that obviously weren’t working!):

Among programs to have suffered is the ‘‘Comm4Unity’’ program in Blacktown, which runs singing and dancing competitions for young people at the Westpoint shopping centre, allowing hundreds of youths from different ethnic backgrounds to mingle and make friends.

Sudanese mother of TEN!  I can’t keep the older boys in school!

In the park, four police officers were questioning a 15-year-old boy, the son of 40-year-old Asunta, who came from South Sudan seven years ago. She stood nearby, agitated, carrying a four-month-old on one hip. She has 10 children and it is hard, she says, to keep the older boys at school.

So where is the father of all these children?

From Malmo, Sweden to Blacktown, Australia, the lesson is—it doesn’t work!  It is human nature to defend ones territory, culture and ethnicity and to fight for survival (now handouts from generous governments).  Grand diversity experiments, where ethnic groups are forced into close association (even with harmony walks and singing and dancing competitions), only exacerbates the drive for survival of one’s ethnic or racial group.

The one group that seems to have a death wish is made up of white people!

Pennsylvania: Burmese refugee shoots wife, faces death penalty

Well what do you know—another refugee criminal case (requiring a translator of course!).***

Never forget! Diversity brings strength to your “welcoming” community, or so we are told!  See our previous post on Burmese living in poverty in America, kids dropping out of school.

Burmese refugee accused of murdering his wife in Bethlehem, PA (Express-Times Photo | BILL ADAMS)

From Lehigh Valley Live  (hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’ crime finder!):

Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against a Bethlehem man accused of shooting his wife in the street in front of their children the day a protection-from-abuse order was approved against him.

Win Min Htut is charged with homicide, burglary and criminal trespass in the Dec. 17 killing of 37-year-old Thida Myint.

Prosecutors say they’re seeking the death penalty for three aggravating circumstances: During the killing, Myint committed felony burglary, presented a grave risk to others, his children, and violated the protection order.

Htut remains in Lehigh County Prison without bail. He was scheduled to be arraigned today before Judge Robert Steinberg, but the Burmese interpreter Htut requires was unable to attend due to the weather.

There is more, see how the prosecutors believe the murder went down.

Pennsylvania in top five resettlement states

I’ve been thinking about Pennsylvania ‘finding itself’ in the top five resettlement states in the US.  It occurred to me after we noted that former Governor Tom Ridge signed the Republican ‘bring more refugees to America’ letter with Grover Norquist, that perhaps it was during Ridge’s term as governor that Pennsylvania became an enthusiastic resettlement ‘leader.’

There is a snowball effect, once your state or city becomes a preferred resettlement site, more refugees (often the relatives) of the first group are brought there by the contractors or their subcontractors (they are paid by the head to bring in the family members) and there is also some ‘rule’ the US State Department has about a hundred mile radius in which they place related people.  There is also the secondary migrant effect when refugees resettled elsewhere migrate within the US to be near their people.   Wyomingites!  Do you get that?

***Just for fun I went to our ‘crimes’ category with its 1,396 posts to see how many criminal court cases we wrote about just since the beginning of the year (specifically involving refugees).  Too lazy to link them (you can find them in the crimes category by clicking here).

We had the Colorado Iraqi rapists, the Utah Burmese rape/murder trial, the Iowa Bosnian sex abuse case, the Illinois Sudanese murder retrial, Washington Somali rapist, New York Afghan welfare cheats, Florida Sri Lankan illegal alien trafficking case, California Somalis sentencing in terror funding case, Minnesota Somali woman sentencing delayed (terror funding), and the Nevada Chinese refugee ripping off the casinos!  All within the last seven weeks!

Des Moines Imam’s sex abuse trial underway

Imam Spahic’s wife testified that he is a good man who has memorized the entire Koran!

Update February 17th:  Spahic found not-guilty, herevia Creeping Sharia.

Here we go again, another expensive ‘refugee’ criminal trial replete with taxpayer-funded interpreters as well!

We previously told you about the Bosnian Imam’s case here and here. This is an update ‘pungentpeppers’ found for us yesterday.

And, if you are interested in how all those Bosnian Muslims got to Iowa, check out Bill Clinton and his meatpacker friends here.*

From the Des Moines Register:

A Polk County District Court judge halted questioning over a sex abuse accuser’s mental health Wednesday during a Des Moines Islamic leader’s trial.

Two women, a mother and her 18-year-old daughter, who allege they were touched inappropriately by imam Nermin Spahic, 41, during a healing ritual testified in court on Wednesday.

[….]

The two women who have accused Spahic were among a string of witnesses who testified on the third day of the trial, including Spahic’s wife. Throughout testimony, Spahic sat with his attorneys and an interpreter, taking notes on a notepad.

During her testimony, the 18-year-old woman’s mother told jurors she was “in shock” after her encounter with Spahic.

More refugee mental health problems?

The woman, who came to the United States from Bosnia with her husband and daughter in 1997, said she took her daughter to see Spahic at the Islamic and Cultural Center Bosniak in Des Moines. The woman wanted the imam to pray over her daughter to help relieve her of severe mood swings and problems with cutting herself. However, she and her daughter were not regular members of the mosque and had never met Spahic.

So instead of praying at the mosque, the Imam was invited home where the women learned it was necessary to get naked in order to find those pesky spirits.

In a 9 p.m. ritual at the apartment the woman and her daughter shared in Johnston, Spahic allegedly had the 18-year-old woman lie nude on her bed while he rubbed cumin oil onto her skin. Spahic’s defense attorney has said the ceremony in Bosnian Islamic tradition is designed to locate “evil spirits” in a person’s body.

Spahic touched the 18-year-old woman’s genital area, breasts and buttocks during the ritual, she said in court Wednesday. Spahic asked her if she was “calm” during the ritual and she lied to the imam in hopes of ending the ritual, she told jurors.

“I only lied and said that so he would get out of my room,” she said.

The mother testified through an interpreter that once Spahic finished the ritual with her daughter, he asked her to participate as well.

And, since her daughter was so traumatized the Mom said, sure let me try it!  Read on!

A police officer who grew up in Bosnia testified that he had never heard of such a ritual.  There is something very fishy about this whole thing.  Or, am I mistaken and this is one of those beautiful things ethnic diversity brought to “welcoming” Polk County, Iowa.

It has entertainment value, I suppose, if it weren’t for the cost this trial dumps on the local taxpayers!

* Question for Wyoming?  Do you need cheap labor this badly?

Illinois: Sudanese refugee could get another trial in brutal murder

Convicted murderer Gareng Deng, now 22, could get a new trial.
Illinois Department of Corrections / February 7, 2014

Update February 14th:  Go to ‘Limits to Growth’ and check out the photo of the murderer and his victim blogger Brenda Walker found!

He is serving a 35-year sentence (or so I think) for the murder of a 47-year old substance abuse counselor.  He  took her to a bike path and shot her in the head.  The refugee, Garang Deng, was 14 at the time.

Now due to some legal wrangling over the length of his sentence, he may be retried.

From the Chicago Tribune:

When Garang Deng pleaded guilty to murder more than four years ago, it seemed like the final act of a tale that stretched from war-torn Sudan to a peaceful Kane County bike path.

After breaking into the home of Marilyn Bethell of Aurora in October 2005, Deng took her to the Illinois Prairie Path and shot her once in the head, Kane County prosecutors said.

Almost immediately after his guilty plea in 2009, Deng regretted it and began the legal process to withdraw the plea. An appeals court ruled in his favor in June.

Deng is scheduled to return to Kane County on Tuesday in his first court appearance in legal proceedings that eventually could lead to a new trial.

“We’re preparing as if we’re going to trial,” State’s Attorney Joe McMahon said.

Deng, who was 14 at the time of the slaying, was a Sudanese refugee whose family had left the African nation when he was a young boy to seek a more peaceful life. But Deng accumulated a history of juvenile offenses in DuPage County beginning at age 11, authorities said.

No mention of whether he knew his victim or picked her at random.

There is more, read it all.

Remember! “Welcoming” communities are responsible for the legal costs of immigrant criminals!

It’s too bad, as I’ve said before, that the US State Department isn’t financially responsible when one of their refugees is tried in criminal court and sentenced to prison.  Although it is still the taxpayer’s money, it would send a message to Washington if Washington had to pay for expensive court proceedings and prisons!
