RRW down for about 24 hours; no explanation

As many of you figured out on your own, WordPress took down Refugee Resettlement Watch for about 24 hours claiming we violated terms of our agreement.   Although we are grateful to be back up, we wish we knew why this happened.

One very positive outcome however, was the great outpouring of concern from many faithful readers who e-mailed or phoned to show support and encouragement.

Thank you so much!  Ann

Weekly roundup for the week ending October 25th

Just didn’t get to to this on Friday or yesterday, but here are the three Top Posts and Top countries for the past week.  Please see daily Top Posts in right hand sidebar.

We post this sporadic review so that new readers who arrived just yesterday or earlier this week and subscribed or began following us on twitter or facebook can get a feel for who we are and what interests our readers.

We are happy to report that this month (October 2014) is shaping up to be our biggest month ever (in our over seven year history) in terms of the number of visitors arriving here.

Top Post this past week:

1)  Congolese refugee women in America need costly mental health care; 50,000 in the pipeline!

2)  Our fact sheet

3)  Obama “welcomes” 100,000 Haitians to your towns and cities

Here are the Top Ten countries in descending order from which visitors arrived, excluding the US of course which is by far number one:

Canada

UK

Australia

France

Germany

Jamaica

South Africa

New Zealand (new this week)

Sweden

Spain (new this week)

Where to find information if you are arriving here at RRW for the first time (in addition to the fact sheet linked above).

*  See our categories (left hand sidebar)

*  See the tag clouds (right hand sidebar)

*  Also, we have a great search function and since neither the categories nor the tags go all the way back to our first posts seven years ago, use the search window with a few key words.  You might want to first try your city, state, or country to see what we have reported from there over the years.

By the way, our category entitled ‘where to find information’ is filled with reports and documents, but with 301 posts archived there, it is pretty unwieldy now.

Past weekly roundups can be found in our category entitled ‘blogging.’

If you are a new reader, consider subscribing or follow us on twitter (@refugeewatcher) or facebook (RefugeeInfoResource).  ‘Like us’ on facebook!

And apologies to all who e-mail and comment, sorry if I don’t respond much, there are just not enough hours in my day!

It occurs to me that I do see everyone’s comments to posts because we do screen them (no foul language, no threats), so if you have something you want me to see, I don’t at all mind if you send the link as a comment to a post, even if it’s off-topic.

To regular readers, thank you for your continued concern for this very important issue.

P.S.  RRW is a charitable project by its writers.  We receive no funding for our good works!  If you see an advertisement on RRW, that is something wordpress places in order to at least make something on the fact that this website is free to us.

RRW week in review for week ending October 10th

For new readers, we occasionally highlight at the end of the week the top posts for the week and the top countries from which readers arrive at RRW.  Previous reports like this one are archived in our blogging category.

For this week the top posts are:

1) Our fact sheet (always in the top three)

2)  Fiscal Year 2014 Wrap-up

3) Norway deports Somalis, but Somali government refuses to take them

For daily top posts see our right hand side bar.

Here are the top countries from which readers arrived at RRW this week (in descending order).  Of course, we exclude the US which is naturally always #1:

Canada

Australia

United Kingdom

Germany

Lebanon (new this week)

Ireland (new this week)

France

Norway

Netherlands

India

We have written 5,996 posts to date so the best way to find information here is to use the categories, tags or to use a couple of key words in our search window!

To regular readers, thank you for your continued concern for this very important issue.  And, sorry for the repetition sometimes, but there are new people joining us every day who know nothing about this complex program aimed at moving third-worlders to Western countries.

RRW week in review September 27, 2014

We have been trying to post weekly reviews here at RRW so new readers could see which posts attracted readers in the previous week. (See past reports in our ‘blogging’ category).  Daily Top Posts are in the right hand side bar.

Below are our top posts for the week ending today.  And, btw, September is going to be our second highest month in terms of readership since we began RRW in 2007.

July 2014 was our highest month so far and that was largely driven by the ‘Unaccompanied alien children’ invasion on the Southern border when the No borders activists miscalculated by calling the illegals “refugees,” and thus, in my view, negatively educated the whole country about refugees.

Top posts this week:

1. Immigration is key to the “stealth jihad” says Muslim convert to Christianity

2.  Dead Isis fighter had ties to Lewiston, ME

3. Our Fact Sheet (always in the top 3)

Top countries this week were the usual (see past weeks), but for some unknown reason Jamaica made the top ten.

The best way to find information in our archive of 5,000 plus posts is to use the search window and a few key words.  The search function is really very good and I use it every day myself.

If you are a new reader, consider subscribing or follow us on twitter (@refugeewatcher) or facebook (RefugeeInfoResource).  ‘Like us’ on facebook!

Weekly summary for the week ending September 19, 2014

For a while I was able to post a weekly summary of what was hot here at RRW, but missed it for the last few weeks.

We had a really good week and September is shaping up to be one of our biggest months yet (in seven years).

If you find me repeating things you already know, remember that we welcome new readers every day who are anxious to get up-to-speed on the federal refugee resettlement program.

Here are our top posts this week (you can see the daily top posts in the right hand side bar):

1.  As invasion of Europe continues, Swiss village raises taxes to support one large African family

2.  US State Department:  We are bringing thousands of Syrians out of Turkey to the US

3.  Our Fact Sheet (always makes the top 3)

Here are the top ten countries (excluding the US) from which we received readers.  LOL! I am surprised Switzerland didn’t make it because some readers took umbrage with my characterization of the Swiss and I assumed they were Swiss themselves.

Canada

Australia

UK

Germany

Sweden

Israel  (new to the top ten)

France

Thailand

Netherlands

South Africa

Press mentions:

If you missed it, go here and follow links for my interview by Ginni Thomas at the Daily Caller.   And, go here to see the mention of RRW in an important article at World Net Daily.

Where to find information if you are arriving here at RRW for the first time.

By the way, our category entitled ‘where to find information’ is filled with reports and documents, but with 289 posts archived there, it is pretty unwieldy now.  All of the weekly summaries we have done so far are in the category simply called ‘blogging.’

To regular readers, thank you for your continued concern for this very important issue.

One last thing!  I am not eager to spend any time up-dating the look of RRW, first because I am tech-impaired and secondly, because we have been at this for so long, I think readers expect to see the format they are used to.  But, I am willing to hear from you if you think RRW needs to be modernized!
