Tsarnaevs milked taxpayers for over $100,000 in benefits (asylees are welcome to welfare!)

Bomber Mom, Zubeidat, poster girl for LEGAL immigrants on welfare?

Your tax dollars!

If you are not following the British press on the Boston Bombers, you might not be getting the full flavor of the Tsarnaev’s scams on you (the American taxpayer) in addition to learning more details about their murderous rampage in the name of Islam.  The Boston Herald has the story here.  But, here the UK Daily Mail has it laid out in a more interesting format.  Read the very thorough accounting of what the Tsarnaevs milked the US and the State of Massachusetts for!  Hat tip: Don Irvine on twitter.

I’m so sorry for the victims of the Tsarnaev terrorists, but honestly this horror has finally focused the public’s attention on our out-of-control system for asylum seekers.  Help make sure this program is reformed and get it (refugee and asylum sections) dumped from the Gang of Eight’s “comprehensive reform” bill now before the US Senate.  The bill will make it easier for more refugees and asylum seekers to get into the country, get permanent residency and ultimately citizenship.

Here is the UK Daily Mail story (emphasis mine):

The family of the Boston bombing suspects has received more than $100,000 in welfare benefits over the last decade, according to the Boston Herald.

Details of the benefits – which included cash, food stamps and housing assistance – are contained within more than 500 documents that were handed over from Massachusetts welfare officials to a committee of state lawmakers on Monday.

The documents have not been released publicly, but a person who has reviewed them told the Herald that the ‘breadth of the benefits the family was receiving was stunning.’

Apparently Mass. Rep. David Linsky pressured the state agencies to release the information over the head of Governor (and Obama pal) Deval Patrick saying the citizens have a right to know.

DEMOCRAT Mass. Rep. David Linsky: taxpayers have a right to know! Yes! and all citizens (in every state) should be demanding the same right to know about the extent of all refugee welfare use (not just in the case of terrorists)!

‘I can assure members of the public that this committee will actively review every single piece of information we can find because clearly the public has a substantial right to know what benefits, if any, this family or individuals accused of some horrific crimes were receiving,’ said Linsky, the committee’s chairman.

[….]

Welfare officials have been forced to divulge details of the aid that was paid out to the family of the bombing suspects.

Mass. Gov. Patrick Deval [Deval Patrick—ed] told state agencies last week that they should not discuss the details of what government assistance Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev had received, citing privacy concerns.

Welfare information is not available for public release unless the person in question provides their consent, but it is available to lawmakers.

Massachusetts State Rep. David Linsky called on the state’s Department of Transitional Assistance to provide him with the information.

Linksy issued an ultimatum on Thursday to welfare officials, giving them 24 hours to provide the information.

The letter from Rep. Linsky was provided to the Boston Herald.

‘My office is working to fully comply with your request,’ DTA interim commissioner Stacey Monahan wrote in his report to Rep. Linsky, saying they were only providing a summary ‘given the great interest in this matter.’

In addition to the aid paid out to Tamerlan and his wife, both alleged bombers had benefited from welfare since their parents Anzor and Zubeidat Tsarnaev collected foodstamps and TAFDC – from 2002 to 2004 and again in 2009 to 2011.

Go to the full article for all the gory details.  However, keep in mind that they were granted LEGAL status in the US.  So, the next time you are tempted to say, “I’m o.k. with LEGAL immigration, it’s illegal I have a problem with!”, don’t say it, just zip it! because it shows how uninformed you are!

The Daily Mail wraps up:

Since the Tsarnaevs are Chechen immigrants, some wondered why they received aid. But the state agency explained that they were considered eligible for the public assistance.

‘The Tsarnaev parents were eligible to receive benefits as legal, non-citizen residents who were granted asylum status and met the basic eligibility criteria for DTA, including household income levels, presence of dependent children and other factors,’ the DTA interim commissioner Stacey Monahan said in a letter addressed to David Linsky, Chairman of the House Post Audit and Oversight Committee.

Contact your Members of Congress and US Senators and tell them it’s time to hold hearings on the refugee and asylum programs authorized under the Kennedy/Biden/Carter Refugee Resettlement Act of 1980 And, by all means strip out changes made to those programs in the Gang of Eight’s amnesty bill now!

Still waiting!  We are all still waiting breathlessly for the details on the Tsarnaev’s original application for asylum, and the application for family reunification—if you see details on those docs before me, please let me know!

This is our tenth post on the refugees who became the Boston Bombers.  Go here to see our archive.

Food Stamp use by refugees jumped dramatically in first year of Obama Presidency

Your tax dollars!

Sheesh, I just a few minutes ago told you I wouldn’t have time to look at the newly released 2009 Annual Report to Congress on the status of refugees in the US in Obama’s first year, but I couldn’t resist a look at the food stamp usage data.

Ahhhhhh!  70% of refugees in the US were on food stamps in 2009!  That is up from 50% the year before and a jump of 30% from 2004 when only! 40% were on food stamps (p. 109).

95% of Iraqi refugees were using food stamps in 2009 (p. 124), but that is understandable because the UNEMPLOYMENT RATE for Iraqis was 46%!  46%!  (p.115).  And, we are told we need MORE immigrant labor!

Visit the tables in Appendix A to see the numbers of arrivals from various countries to your states.

We resettled 17,180 Iraqis in FY 2009 bringing the grand total of resettled Iraqis to 76,205.   We resettled 88,915 Somalis through 2009.

These annual reports are a treasure-trove of information. You all need to go to this one (unfortunately a snap-shot now nearly 4 years out of date) to check out info. on your state.  If I read it correctly (as I scanned quickly) top states for refugee welfare were California (80% on some form of welfare!) and even states like Pennsylvania and Georgia were awash in needy refugees.

Norway wants to deport Palestinians back to Iraq; Iraq is safe

Before I get to this bit of news, I bet you are wondering how Palestinians came from Iraq to Norway (instead of from Gaza) in the first place.  A few years ago we wrote extensively about the subject.

As you are probably aware no one wants the Palestinians—and that means NO Muslim country wants them either.  Well, except Iraq under Saddam Hussein who invited Palestinians to live in Iraq during his regime.   So, to make a long story short, when the Sunni minority was basically overthrown with the help of the US, the Palestinians, in the minds of the Shiites, were associated with the departed Saddam Hussein.

Fearing retribution from the newly energized Shiites, a large group of Iraqi Palestinians fled to Syria but were denied entry and so a Palestinian camp was set up on the border of Iraq and Syria. Much agitation from the US refugee industry lobbyists and the UN culminated in a July 2009 national news storythe US would begin taking these Iraqi Palestinians (1350 to start)!   They were scheduled to be admitted in the numbers allotted for Iraqis so that you wouldn’t know we were bringing Palestinians to your towns.  I assume those shipments are on-going.

So, who are these “Iraqi” Palestinians in Norway that Norway wants to deport?  Who knows!   They could be from anywhere.  If they were among the “refugees” that no Muslim country wanted on the border of Syria and Iraq, they didn’t make the cut to come to the US.

Now they are camping out in Oslo with a banner that proclaims, “we don’t want to fight, we just want our right.”

Here is the story from the Women News Network:

(WNN) Oslo, NORWAY: Twenty-five Palestinian refugees who managed to escape persecution in Iraq and find their way to Norway they continue to live in harsh conditions after their asylum applications were refused. Some have deportation (‘forced relocation’) orders pending. The Norwegian immigration service based its decision with refusal of these Palestinians on a June 2012 report issued by Norway’s land information branch, stating that Iraq is now considered safe for their return.

The report quotes Mohamed Abu Bakr, charged with managing the file of the Palestinian refugees in Jordan, who said that “the living conditions for Palestinians in Iraq is now much better than it used to be back in 2003.” He added, “Palestinians today have the same citizenship rights as the Iraqis.”

Read it all  Those Socialist countries in Scandinavia sure are having a tough time of it these days as they are overrun with Muslim immigrants.

Through much blood and treasure we gave Iraq a democratically elected government.  The country is safe now, Obama says so.  Then why is the US still taking thousands of Iraqi refugees each year?

On the stats for US resettlement!

By the way, this reminds me, up until yesterday we could readily get the statistics for arriving refugees but the feds are now blocking the average citizen from finding out who is coming, from where, and where they are being resettled into the US.   I used to at least be able to get to the statistics through the ‘Cultural Orientation Resource Center’ here.  Now they re-direct readers to WRAPSnet and that government website is now password protected (when I get a minute I’ll apply and see if they reject me!).

For some rough idea of who we are bringing to the US, you might want to go to the President’s FY2013 Report to Congress here, which backs up Obama’s refugee wishlist for the fiscal year we are now in.  (This report is not to be confused with the much more detailed ORR annual report to Congress that ORR is illegally withholding from Congress).

So, back to my question, if we gave Iraq a democratically elected government, why did we bring 9,388 Iraqis to the US in FY 2011 and 12,000 in 2012 (p. 50 of the President’s wish list for 2013.)?

While you are visiting that report, check out Page 58 where it’s noted that this program to bring on average less than 70,000 refugees to the US each year costs over ONE BILLION TAXPAYER DOLLARS!   And, that does not include all the welfare programs and education they are receiving in your city and state.

If you are wondering why I write so much about Socialist countries like Norway, Sweden and Denmark here at RRW, it’s because we can look to them to see our future.   And, it isn’t pretty!

Will we one day have Palestinians camping on the streets of Washington demanding their “rights?”
