Washington: Likely Honor Killing Puts Iraqi Refugees in the News Again

Diversity does not bring us strength!

Earlier this week at ‘Frauds and Crooks’ I wrote about the Iraqi refugee arrested in Arizona on charges that he was an Al-Qaeda member who got into the US apparently unvetted.

In January we learned that another Iraqi was arrested in Texas wanted in the murder of a Colorado woman.

‘New American’ Yasir Darraji. Lucky us! Taxpayers brought him here and now we get to pay for an expensive trial and the cost of incarceration likely for life.

Now comes news from Washington state that yet another Iraqi, we obviously welcomed to live among us, was arrested for murder in the death of his former wife.

Authorities believe he didn’t like her Americanized behavior which led to a bitter divorce and demands that she return to Iraq.

By the way, the vast majority of Iraqis in the US came here through the US Refugee Admissions Program.

According to the Refugee Processing Center from 2006 to this month we have admitted 143,271 Iraqi refugees to the US. An additional 18,677 arrived as Special Immigrant Visa holders.

A Washington man is accused of strangling his ex-wife and setting her body on fire, in what the woman’s friends’ suspect may have been an “honor killing.”

Yasir Darraji, 30, is facing murder charges in the suspicious death of his ex-wife, Ibtihal Darraji, who was found in a burning car in Spokane on Thursday night, according to KHQ-TV.

As firefighters began extinguishing a blazing vehicle found in a parking lot in Spokane’s City Park neighborhood late last week, they discovered Ibtihal Darraji’s body in the wreckage, a police spokesperson told Oxygen.com. The 29-year-old woman’s remains were so badly charred, detectives weren’t immediately able to identify her. She had allegedly been choked and drenched in some type of fire accelerant, investigators said.

Friends of the dead woman, however, told police about the former couple’s contentious relationship and bitter divorce, claiming that Darraji was a control freak who was long-enraged by his wife’s perceived promiscuous Western lifestyle and had previously threatened to kill her.

Prior to her death, Ibtihal allegedly told co-workers she feared for her life, KHQ-TV reported. One witness told authorities that Yasir was furious his former spouse was dating and “going to night clubs.” He allegedly demanded she return to their native Iraq — or he would murder her, friends said.

Darraji’s bond has been set at $1 million.

Iranian wants refugee status in Australia because he is an alcoholic

This is definitely a new angle.
Since, according to law, one must prove that one will be persecuted if returned home, this man is telling an Australian court that he could be persecuted, even executed, because he can’t kick the habit. And, has asked for refugee status in Australia.
One of my first thoughts was, so why would Australia even want to keep a drunk Muslim?

We might be getting a few chuckles from this news, but everyone should be thinking about what Sharia law means as it creeps out of the Middle East/Africa and in to the West.

An ‘alcoholic’ Iranian man could be granted refugee status in Australia over fears he will be executed for drinking booze if he goes home.

The man, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, told the Federal Circuit Court that he had already committed two alcohol-related offences in Iran – where drinking is illegal for Muslims under Sharia law.

He argued that he would struggle to kick his habit if he is deported, despite knowing he could be put to death by the Iranian authorities if he is caught drinking alcohol again.

The man told the court that he had twice been in trouble in Iran for alcohol-related offences, in 2009 and 2012, The Australian reported.

Guest post: Hiring Muslim refugees is legally risky! Why? because CAIR is watching!

Editor:  I’m grateful for guest columns because as you know I am traveling for a month to visit refugee hot spots and although the trip is beyond my wildest expectations in what I am learning and who I am meeting, I am only disappointed that I don’t have more time to write. This is a guest column by reader Linda and an example of the great investigative work by Americans volunteering their time and talents around the US!

On June 29th this blog described a report from Reuters that stated that the White House would be launching a “Call to Action” to encourage American companies to commit to employing refugees. This “call” is in collaboration with the UN and coincides nicely with the summit on the global refugee crisis that President Obama will be hosting during the UN General Assembly in September.

Since the overwhelming majority of refugees who constitute the current “crisis” are Muslim, it is prudent to look behind the veil of humanitarianism to see just what employing Muslim refugees might entail for U.S. companies.

One very important statistic that potential employers should be aware of is that, despite representing only 1% of the U.S. population, people who practice Islam filed 40% of the religion-based complaints that were filed with the U.S. Equal Opportunity Employment Commission in 2015.

These complaints range from allegations of denial of employment based on the religion of the applicant, disputes regarding companies’ dress policies, failure to accommodate the needs for multiple prayer breaks during work shifts, to general failures by companies to provide “religious accommodation.”

A review of a U.S. EEOC January 2016 list of “Resolved Cases Alleging Religious and National Origin Discrimination Involving the Muslim, Sikh, Arab, Middle Eastern and South Asian Communities” revealed some interesting data and facts that should be of interest to all U.S. employers who might find themselves persuaded by the hype from the White House (and by the tax incentives!).

Millions of dollars have been paid by companies small and large as ordered by courts to resolve cases of religious discrimination against Muslims. To cite a few of these cases: $240,000 awarded to two employees of a transport company who refused to transport alcohol because of their religious beliefs and were subsequently fired (the jury felt they should have been reassigned to a less offensive shipment); $44,654 awarded to an applicant who was not hired because she wore a hijab to her interview ($25,671 to the applicant for back pay from the job she didn’t get and $18,983 to the EEOC for costs); several cases of employees who claimed discrimination because they were not allowed to have beards (usually in the food industry or healthcare); many cases of discrimination for not allowing hijabs to be worn in the workplace; numerous cases of alleged harassment by other employees that were not corrected or were ignored by management.

CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) is frequently the party that files the claims on behalf of employees and they pressure businesses into accommodating the most trivial of Muslim practices advocated for in sharia law. They have published An Employer’s Guide to Islamic Religious Practices which I encourage any potential employer to obtain. You can get it by clicking here. You will be amazed at the accommodations you might be expected to provide such as understanding refusal to shake hands with and avoidance of eye contact with members of the opposite sex.

Warning to US corporations large and small!

Think long and hard about the potential risks of employing recent Muslim refugees. It may not be worth the potential tax breaks and good press. CAIR will be watching closely for more opportunities to transform the American workplace through litigation.

And, then ‘oh my gosh’ I traveled to Owatonna, Minnesota where an aluminum window company is being sued by CAIR on behalf of Somalis over the issue of prayer break times.  And, in what can only be called ‘providential’ I met a woman who has followed the conflicts involving the Somalis in Owatonna since Somalis first arrived there in 1992/93!  And, guess what, that is the year the US State Department says the first Somalis went to Minnesota! Their destination was Owatonna!  Now guess who wanted the Somali workers? This same window company now being sued!

Minnesota 'sharia law' billboard causing a stir

I suppose the question it asks could easily be answered in Minnesota!
That roving gang of Somali refugee youths in an upscale suburb of Minnesota two weeks ago told a homeowner that they could kidnap and rape her because Sharia law said they could.  Why aren’t we believing the believers?

“Do you know Shariah law?” one of the older men in robes yelled at Penskey.

By the way, some people prefer spelling ‘sharia’ with an ‘h’ at the end, I don’t know if there is a correct spelling or whether you can spell it either way and be correct.

Copenhagen: Islamic gangs intimidate bar patrons, tell them no drinking in Sharia zones

I feel like a broken record, but as the Muslim immigrant population grows (as it is in Europe), Islamic supremacists (devout Muslims!) feel comfortable in beginning to put demands on the population they are conquering (yes! they believe they are conquering infidel lands) to be more sharia compliant.

Here is the latest in Denmark from Russia Today (hat tip: Bob):

A group of bar owners from one of Copenhagen’s suburbs, who have been endlessly harassed by Muslim youth activists trying to impose a so-called “Shariah zone”, have taken their case to a government minister, urging her to protect their businesses and the locals.

Pub owners in the Nørrebro suburb of Copenhagen have for months tried to get the Copenhagen Police to take action against a group of youths from an immigrant background, who have been threatening, extorting, and vandalizing bars in broad daylight.

The concept of Sharia zones was introduced by a group called ‘Call to Islam’ some five years ago. Using volunteers, pockets of activists embark on daily patrols of the neighborhood and approach those who drink, gamble, or engage in other activities seen by the group as running contrary to Islamic beliefs.

“Recently some young men came into the bar and shouted that all guests should leave,” Heidi Dyrnesli from Cafe Heimdal told Radio24syv. “They shouted so that the site belongs to them and that Nørrebro is Sharia zone, so there is no drinking alcohol.

Go to the story and see what Denmark is doing about it—admonishment on facebook.  That should take care of it!
This makes me wonder if Americans will wake up when Islamists begin to (check one):

___Harass their dogs

___Pressure women to cover their heads

___Put pork producers out of business

___Demand they stop drinking beer

___Or, will it take all of the above before your family members get it (too late)?
