Trump Watch! begins today

Yesterday was a fantastically inspirational day. I hope you all enjoyed it.
I’ve been a Trump supporter from the earliest days of his campaign, but I also know something about how Washington works and so I see my job, in addition to continuing to report what is happening in your states and around the world on refugees, as a nag to attempt to keep the Trump Administration honest and moving toward slowing immigration and thus assuring greater security for us all.

trump-inauguration
Trump Watch! starts today!

In Gettysburg in October, here, Donald Trump outlined a plan for his first 100 days which included making progress on building the wall and securing our borders.
Many of those illegal aliens (Africans!) coming across the border now are fake refugees who will be attempting to claim asylum, so the border is of concern to us in addition to the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program.
This is what Donald Trump promised would be happening immediately:

Additionally, on the first day, I will take the following five actions to restore security and the constitutional rule of law….

* FIFTH, suspend immigration from terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur. All vetting of people coming into our country will be considered extreme vetting.

We assume “on the first day” means Monday, January 23rd!
Our Trump Watch! will report daily on how many refugees are coming in through the Refugee Admissions Program (RAP) in addition to other news about immigration in general.  (BTW, we admit thousands of immigrants through myriad LEGAL programs from “terror-prone” regions.  I don’t want to leave you with the notion that it is only ‘refugees’ coming from Islamic hotspots.)
See our benchmark post yesterday.
So while we were enjoying the festivities in DC, the US State Department admitted 168 more refugees just yesterday.
We will be watching in particular refugee numbers from Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, and Syria.  There are many others coming from other regions as well that must be stopped. I’m thinking of the Rohingya from Burma and Bangladesh, Ethiopians, Eritreans and some other ethnic groups as well, but it will be those 4 we report on regularly.
Yesterday, Afghans topped the list of the four we will watch: 55 Afghans arrived in your towns, 45 Iraqis, 30 Syrians and no Somalis on Inauguration day.
See my 100 days countdown clock in the right hand sidebar!
Donald Trump was elected primarily because of the issue of  jobs and immigration, we sure hope he (with Congress attempting to railroad him!) does not get bogged down on Obamacare.
Obamacare can be fixed over the course of the year, but uncontrolled immigration, in addition to threatening our security and way of life, is robbing Americans of jobs and changing the demographic makeup of America daily!

North Dakota: Bill introduced to try to get some local/state control of refugee program

And, Somali community organizer issues a warning!

Editor: Everyone is asking me what I think about various bills being introduced in state legislatures that seek to get some control over the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program by states and local governments when the federal government is sending refugees from around the world to unsuspecting communities.  Truthfully, I am not a  lawyer and the type of bill introduced depends on the present structure of the program in that state.  In North Dakota, Lutheran Social Services is pretty much calling the shots with Washington. I can’t give legal advice. I’m a blogger, an opinion journalist!

However, this is what I do know. This program must be ultimately reformed, rewritten or trashed in Congress with a bill signed by the President.  The best opportunity to do that is right now, starting tomorrow.  Even if Trump temporarily pauses the program, if nothing follows in Congress then there might be a slowdown for a few years, but another president could just begin it again (and make up for lost time with a huge admissions number).
Everything you do at the local and state level to generate publicity, to stimulate debate, and to put pressure upward—to your US Senators and Members of Congress, and to Trump of course, is vitally important.
Here is the news from North Dakota:

BISMARCK – North Dakota lawmakers have proposed a bill that would create a way for communities to request temporary bans on new refugee resettlement and would grant the governor power to impose such a ban statewide.

fowzia
Somali community activist, Fowzia Adde, warns that THEIR voting power is growing. See who partners with her group located in Moorhead, MN http://www.idcfm.org/our-partners.html

The proposal was welcomed by Dave Piepkorn, a Fargo city commissioner and resettlement skeptic who has been pushing for more local input on where refugees are placed and more data about their impact.

“Right now, a lot of people are afraid to ask any questions at all because they’re accused of being a racist or xenophobe,” he said. [You all have to get over this, get a backbone, all they have is words!—ed]

If House Bill 1427 passes, local governments could apply to stop refugee resettlement in their communities, either through the governor’s office or Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota (LSSND), the group federally contracted to resettle refugees in the state. A ban could last up to a year and so could an extension of the ban, the bill says.

Before applying for a ban, a local government would have to hold a public hearing and issue a finding that “further resettlement of refugees in the host community would result in an adverse impact to existing residents,” the bill states.

Such a finding would be based on what the bill calls a community’s “refugee absorptive capacity.” This capacity would be determined by various factors, such as local availability of housing, jobs and health care, as well as the ability of social services, schools, police and other government agencies to meet refugees’ needs, according to the bill.

With a similar finding, the governor could issue an executive order for a statewide moratorium on refugee resettlement, the bill says.

Learn more about the bill here.

Now this is revealing!

Somali activist confirms what Khalid Sheikh Mohammed said during his enhanced interrogation by the CIA.  They want to defeat us through immigration and out-breeding us, or otherwise why would Fowzia Adde be so interested in THEIR voting power? What is it they want that is different from what any good and patriotic American would want?
The Grand Forks Herald story continues:

Fowzia Adde, a Somali leader in the Fargo area, said it would be North Dakota’s loss if refugee resettlement is banned. “They’re going to be shooting themselves in their own leg,” she said. “It’s actually improved the economy to have the new Americans.”

Adde said refugees work hard, pay their taxes and succeed quickly. “We are doing all the work that nobody else wants to do,” she said.

She cautioned that the bill could come back to bite lawmakers, given the state’s increasing number of refugees. “Our voting power is growing,” she said.

Sounds like it is definitely time to stop the flow to ND before voting power for their people gets too great!

Immigrant Development Center

Fowzia Adde is the Director of the Immigrant Development Center and they are one of those federally supported immigrant-focused ‘non-profits’ involved with microloans.  The IDC’s non-profit status was approved in August 2006 and 2 years later they hit the jackpot according to USASpending.gov.
In fiscal year 2008 they received $687,000 from the Dept. of Health and Human Services. In 2012, the Dept. of the Treasury granted them $99,999 and in 2015 they got $50,000 as a federal sub-grant from some agency that is not recorded at USA Spending.  Ms. Adde is effectively being paid by you to do her community organizing!
In addition to working on legislation, citizen activists need to begin to expose the federal money that is flowing in to non-profit groups that then work against the interests of your communities by, as Ms. Adde says herself, growing their voting power.

Minneapolis City Council: Please send Syrian Muslims to our city!

As if they don’t have enough problems with the tens of thousands of Somalis living in Minnesota, the Minneapolis city council passed a resolution yesterday, welcoming Syrians to join the gang in Minneapolis.

Frankly, I’ve wondered why so few Syrians have been sent (by the US State Department) to Minnesota so far and wondered if the DOS was worried that there could possibly be some tensions created with the added diversity in the city where Somalis are king.
Arab Muslims (98% of Syrians entering US right now are Muslim) and black Africans aren’t always the best of friends, and the Syrians will add competition for the same welfare dollars as the Somalis enjoy now.
See screenshot from Wrapsnet.org below showing how many Syrians have been placed in Minnesota.  I went back to FY2012 and only these few are recorded so far (with none in FY 2017 to date).
From Minneapolismn.gov:

The Minneapolis City Council and Mayor Betsy Hodges approved a resolution today supporting the resettlement of Syrian refugees in Minneapolis and calling on other Minnesota communities to support a national effort to resettle the country’s most vulnerable refugees.

The resolution notes that “hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees are making life and death decisions to flee Syria and neighboring countries because they are unable to access shelter, health care, education or protection, and neighboring countries have closed their borders to new arrivals.”

[….]

More than 14,000 Syrian refugees have resettled in the United States since the beginning of the conflict in 2011. The Twin Cities is a leader in welcoming refugees and has resettled more than 12,500 refugees from 40 countries, including Syria, since 2011. [Only 5 from Syria have been placed in Minnesota so far—-ed]

“Minneapolis has long stood as a place of welcome for refugees from throughout the world, including those seeking resettlement from Syria,” said Mayor Betsy Hodges. “Today we restate our City’s commitment to welcome Syrian families to make homes and new lives here.”

None were recorded in the previous three fiscal years. And none have been placed so far in the first three months of FY17.

Catholic Charities placing Somalis from Uganda refugee camp in Minnesota

The other day when I wrote about the large number of Somalis entering the US from refugee camps in Kenya, I wondered who were all the refugees coming from Uganda and here we learn they are Somalis too!
We have written so many posts about Somalis/Catholic Charities in Minnesota, I have lost track. But, I do remember when I first learned that it was three ostensibly Christian federal refugee contractors who first placed Muslim Somalis in Minnesota decades ago,and they are still at it.  See that 2011 post here.
It was the generous welfare that made Minnesota so attractive to these resettlement contracting agencies.

nakivale-refugee-camp-uganda
Somali Muslims are being placed in Minnesota from Nakivale Refugee Camp in Uganda.

Here is the story that caught my eye just now, from CNS news:

A Somali couple with three children is seeking a new life in Minnesota thanks to a Catholic Charities’ resettlement program that cites a Christian imperative for its work.

“Now the family is together and thankful for their new home. While they are learning about Minnesota and adjusting to the cold weather, they have a place to live and food in the cupboards,” Julia Jenson, Catholic Charities St. Paul-Minneapolis director of external affairs and communications, told CNA.

The family comes from the Nakivale refugee camp in Uganda, which hosts 100,000 Somalis who have fled conflict at home.

laurie-ohmann
Laurie Ohmann: the Pope tells us to work with the “poor and the vulnerable in our community.” So why not help the American poor before bringing in third world poor? Photo: https://www.cctwincities.org/our-organization/our-people/leadership/

For Ohmann [Laurie Ohmann, senior vice president of client services and community partnerships at Catholic Charities of St. Paul-Minneapolis], the agency’s motive for refugee resettlement is clear.

“It’s an issue of human dignity and supporting their participation in our economic and cultural life,” she said. [Refugee resettlement is about protecting people from persecution, not about economic and cultural opportunities we can give them. See recent report about a Minnesota Somali safely going home to Somalia!—ed]

She cited the principles of Catholic social teaching and Pope Francis’ prominence in “welcoming the stranger and working with the poor and the vulnerable in our community.”

[….]

Ohmann acknowledged some Americans’ safety concerns about refugees.

Ohmann then goes through the usual talking points about security screening, which we have learned is pretty much useless with nomadic Somalis who have no records and whose children have grown up to become jihadists right here in America!  See my answer, here, to their talking points about their assertion that refugees are harmless.
And, much to the reporter’s credit for bringing up another of Catholic Charities placement—the Ohio State stabber! So much for vetting!

Among those aided by Catholic Charities affiliates was Abdul Razak Ali Artan, the 20-year-old who in November drove a car into a crowd at Ohio State University then started to stab passersby before he was shot and killed by a campus police officer. The attacker hurt 11 people, one critically.

Artan had come to Dallas as a refugee from Somalia in June 2014 and stayed in Dallas with his six siblings and his mother for about three weeks before moving to Columbus, Ohio. They had been aided by Catholic Charities of Dallas after vetting by the U.S. State Department.

Dave Woodyard, the Dallas agency’s president and CEO, said there was nothing that stood out about Artan during his brief stay there. [There are many questions still unanswered about this family’s short stay in Dallas and their abrupt move to Ohio—ed]

Warning to Trump transition… remember we are bringing in certain potentially dangerous ethnic groups from safe places in the world. So it is important not to say something like: “We will stop refugees from Somalia (the country).” We don’t take refugees from Somalia, we take Somalis who have spread out all over the world!

Nearly 30,000 'refugees' admitted in last 15 months from two terror-exporting countries

Those two countries are Syria and Somalia*** as the Obama Administration works overtime to pour as many refugees in to the US as they can before Donald Trump takes office on January 20th.
The numbers we have been reporting in recent weeks go way beyond anything we have seen in the last nearly ten years of writing this blog.

Trump transition needs to know that John Kerry’s State Department is cutting corners and knocking themselves out to get as many Muslim refugees placed in US towns and cities before January 20th as they can!

Questions are also beginning to arise about whether the refugee agencies (the non-profit resettlement contractors) can properly care for them due to those high numbers of arrivals. We have reports of refugees placed in hotels, delays in medical screening, and refugees without winter clothing, all are violations of US State Department regulations for contractors.
I promised some maps for someone, which sent me to Wrapsnet.org this morning.
These are maps (screenshots) for the placement and numbers of Syrians and Somalis for the last 15 months.  That would include all of FY2016 and the first three months of FY2017 which ended on December 31, 2016. (The fiscal year for the placement of refugees runs from Oct. 1 of one year to Sept. 30th of the next year.)
Obama said at the beginning of FY16 that his State Department would admit 10,000 Syrians (98% Muslim) to the US that year.  We are now (in the last 15 months) up to 16,153!

No Syrians went to Hawaii or Alaska, and if you can’t read Florida the number is 847.

Virtually all Somali refugees are Muslims. You should know we pick them up all over the world and place them in your towns and cities.  So Donald Trump’s administration needs to be careful and not say we will halt refugees coming from Somalia (for example), because few if any come from Somalia directly. (We do expect Trump to halt them!)

Alaska received 36 Somalis, Hawaii 0, and that Florida number is 148. Again the map is for the last 15 months.

And, if you missed it yesterday, many questions remain about one Somali admitted to the US in 2016 who was free to wander the streets of Aberdeen, SD and attempt to sexually assault a special-needs woman there. See our post yesterday, here.
***Thousands more Iraqi, Afghan, and Burmese Muslims have entered as well during these same 15 months, but we chose to focus only on Syria and Somalia for this report.
