Lewiston, ME: another huge government grant for special people—you guessed it—Somalis!

Update October 5: Michael Leahy at Breitbart has written more on your tax dollars going to Maine’s large Somali community, here.
Do you think that maybe the Obama Administration is literally breaking the bank to give your money away before it clears out of DC for good. Just the other day we learned that a Somali ‘community’ group was given $300,000 to combat sexual abuse in the East African (that’s what they call Somalis when they don’t want to use the ‘S’ word) community and now this!
The USDA has awarded a $400,000 grant to help Somalis eat better and reconnect with their roots! No kidding!
From the CTPostCurbing food insecurity!

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — The United States Department of Agriculture is committing nearly $400,000 to increase food access for the Somali community in Lewiston.

Somali women and their children walk through downtown Lewiston, Maine, Tuesday, in a May 8, 2007, photo. Over the past six years, as many as 3,500 black refugees from the wartorn African country have settled in this nearly all-white, heavily French-Canadian and largely Roman Catholic city of 36,000, giving Lewiston the highest concentration of Somalis anywhere in America."Their children are the only assets they have. They left everything else in Somalia," said Said Mohamud, manager of the Mogadishu Store. (AP Photo/Robert F. Bukaty)
Limited food access for Somalis in Lewiston?

Members of the Somali Bantu community in the city are partnering with the Cumberland County Food Security Council on the project. The funding is expected to support Somalis’ agriculture and help them reconnect with their cultural heritage.

The USDA says the objectives of the project include building the capacity of the Somali Bantu community and its farmers to produce food and address the problem of limited food access. The agency describes the Somali Bantu community as the poorest community in the city, which is the second largest city in the state.

Cumberland County Food Security Council will recruit people in the community to help increase access to healthy food.

I wonder is Maine’s Republican Senator Susan Collins involved in this giveaway too?
By the way, the next time you see one of those articles in which the resettlement industry brags about how refugees bring economic booms to struggling towns, remember this!  In the case of Lewiston, there is now an additional $700,000 sloshing around the community.  But, it is still tax money coming from the money tree growing in Washington (joke of course).
It is not that the Somalis have helped the economy in the way the industry wants you to think—it is basically welfare dollars flowing from your pockets to theirs!

This is insane! Taxpayers pay rent for Somalis who feel the need to visit Somalia (for months!)

You cannot make this up! Virtually all Somalis who live in the US came here (we are told) as poor refugees (there are going on 200,000 of them). So how persecuted and fearful of returning home are they if many travel back and forth to Africa and the taxpayers of Minneapolis cover most of their rent while they are gone!
By the way, Somalis are not the only (fake) persecuted and impoverished ‘refugees’ who go ‘home’ for visits from time to time.
This is the story at the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

Public housing residents in Minneapolis will no longer need to pay their normal monthly rent when travel abroad erases their income, a change particularly sought by East African immigrants.

The board of the Minneapolis Public Housing Authority approved this week reverting to its previous policy of collecting only minimal rent during extended absences. The change takes effect once approved by federal housing officials, which is expected by year’s end.

Minnesota Governor Dayton with Warsame. Remember Dayton is the MN pol who said if you don’t like our Somalis, you can move to another state. https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2015/10/16/mn-governor-dayton-dont-like-immigrants-get-out-of-minnesota/

Abdi Warsame, a City Council member, told the board that the policy in place for the past five years works a particular hardship on elderly East Africans who must save for long periods if they want to visit their homelands. He said that many receive federal Supplemental Security Income, which is halted when the recipient is outside the United States.

Yet the policy required people to keep paying rent, which is income-based. Travelers gone for 30 to 90 days could apply for a hardship, which meant that they paid the minimum $75 monthly rent during their absence, but were required to make up the difference between that and their normal rent over the next year or two.

The change will mean that residents will pay only the $75 minimum per month, assuming they apply for the hardship status. [Hardship status! Hardship status! How many of you have airfare money to fly to Africa?—ed]

From 50 to 75 public housing residents report such absences annually, according to Mary Boler, an agency manager. She said the cost of the change will be less than $50,000. The agency found that the paperwork burden of tracking repayment was higher than anticipated.

“This was brought up to us again and again and again in every building we visited in our ward,” Warsame said. “Everybody was afraid to leave the country.”  [But they weren’t afraid to go home to Somalia the country they supposedly escaped from???—ed]

We are such suckers!
By the way, one reason given for travel is the Hajj (it lasts 4 days not 30-90 days).
Additionally, I wonder is some Somali community activist group getting grants from the feds like the one in Maine.

Did Minneapolis Somali woman marry her brother to get him in to US?

Sheesh!  See if you can figure out the marital status of the highly touted first Somali woman to win an important election in Minnesota.

Here is how Leo Hohmann describes the latest twists and turns in the story at World Net Daily:

America’s soon-to-be first female Muslim legislator has a problem on her hands.

She’s accused of being married to two men, at the same time, including one who may be her brother. The second marriage was allegedly a sham, meant to deceive the U.S. government’s immigration system, allowing him to emigrate from the United Kingdom, according to local Minneapolis media.

But Ilhan Omar, a 33-year-old Somali refugee who was the victor in Minnesota’s Aug. 9 Democratic primary, denies the story, issuing a statement calling it “categorically false” and based on “absurd rumors that don’t bear repeating.” She charged those raising the issue are “racists” using “Donald Trump tactics” to drive a wedge between various demographic segments of Minnesota voters.

History of immigration fraud with Somali refugees

I’m quoted in here about the widespread fraud that saw possibly as many as 20,000 Somalis get in to the US prior to 2008 by lying about their family relationships.  In an episode the US State Department and its resettlement contractors would like to forget, the so-called ‘P-3 family reunification program’ was closed to Somalis and a few other African groups for four years (from 2008-2012).
We have an extensive archive of stories on the scandal, click here for more.
The US State Department never went back to find and deport those who so flagrantly broke US immigration law.

Trump focuses on Minnesota Somali problem in advance of trip there in two weeks

Update August 10th:  Somali reaction in Maine to Trump’s comments, here.
Sometimes you just want to scream when you read Leftwing (Progressive) media reports like this one.  It begins in the usual style they must teach in J-school!  Sympathetic refugee STORY to soften readers up so that their main point (in this case that Donald Trump has it all wrong) goes down easier.

Minneapolis mayor Betsy Hodges threatens Trump in tweet: : “Donald Trump, do not go after Minnesota and our Somali population. Just don’t.”

The first thing I looked for was any mention of the marauding gang of Somalis that terrorized the Lake Calhoun suburb just a few weeks ago—not a word!
And, once again we see a mayor who shows no concern for constituents who are afraid or who see the economic writing on the wall as more poverty arrives in Minnesota.
From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

In a Thursday speech, the Republican presidential candidate suggested that Somali refugees have turned Minnesota into a hotbed for terror recruitment and frayed its social safety net.

Trump’s swipe dominated discussion after Friday prayer at Ibrahim’s [the star of the story—ed] mosque in Burnsville.

For the state’s Somali community, Trump’s remarks inspired outrage, renewed calls to vote in November and plans to respond during the candidate’s planned visit to the state Aug. 19. Public officials, including Minneapolis Mayor Betsy Hodges, fired back on social media. For organizers of events questioning refugee resettlement that have drawn growing crowds in outstate Minnesota this year, the speech offered welcome validation.

Trump serious

Quoting a 2015 Washington Times article, Trump said Minnesota’s Somali refugees have high unemployment rates and represent “a rich pool of potential recruiting targets for Islamist terror groups.”

“The state is having tremendous problems,” he said.

CAIR and Muslim Congressman Keith Ellison claim the Somalis  are helping local economies, but here near the end of the story, the Star Tribune admits some of the truth:

Amid a growing number of arrivals from other states, Minnesota has seen an increase in Somali food and cash assistance participation since 2010.

A recent report comparing various groups in the state paints a “stark” picture of the challenges Somali Minnesotans face, said Susan Brower, the state’s demographer. Almost 60 percent live under the poverty line, compared with 11 percent of all Minnesota. Unemployment of adults in the labor force stands at 20 percent, the highest of any group in the state.

Read it all here.
I recently visited three cities in Minnesota and I assure you they have a problem!  For new readers, see especially this post about 10,000 Somalis seeded in MN in ten years.

Everyone reading this post this morning should be doing everything in your power to elect Donald Trump.  Minnesotans must get out to support Trump when he gets there.

He is saying the things that must be said and giving you permission to say them too!  If he loses, the flood gates will open to the third world like we have never seen before.  And, you will be silenced!

Don't miss more on the Somali roving gang in Minneapolis suburb; Governor says love it or leave it

Remember these are Dayton’s refugees!

Yesterday our simple post just reiterating what happened earlier in June when a gang of Somali ‘youths’ began roaming through an upscale suburb not far from Minneapolis went through the roof in number of readers.  I expect that is because everyone was imagining what they would do if this situation happened where they live.

mark dayton
Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton: If you don’t like all the Somalis in the state, find another state in which to live! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Dayton

Leo Hohmann at World Net Daily has a few more details and as is his usual practice he goes into more detailed information reported in the past on refugees in Minnesota.  This is important because every day new people become aware of the UN/US Refugee Admissions Program and it is critical to bring those new readers up to speed.
One thing Hohmann reminded us of was the past statements by Minnesota’s governor who is ‘all-in’ for more refugees to be seeded into the state primarily because the refugees are needed for the meat packers and other industries looking to keep their labor costs low. They say they can’t find enough Americans to do the work—how about paying a higher wage!
But, why should they when the US State Department and groups like Lutheran Social Services and Catholic Charities bring them all the low-skilled (cheap) refugee labor they need. Those laborers are then given gobs of welfare to supplement their meager wages—-great business model isn’t it! You supplement their wages!
Here is Hohmann reminding us of Governor Dayton’s smack-down of concerned citizens last fall: You don’t want more Somalis in Minnesota then find another state!

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton, a Democrat, has let it be known his commitment to the multicultural model, the same model followed by the European Union which is now breaking apart, is unwavering.

Last October, Dayton told those attending a town-hall meeting in St. Cloud that those Minnesotans not comfortable with the arrival of Syrian refugees and the state’s expanding Somali population “should find a new state” because Minnesota’s economy “cannot expand based on white, B+, native-born citizens. We don’t have enough.”

Want to blame someone? Follow the money!
I’m urging all of you attempting to resist further colonization (or a start-up seeding project) of your towns and cities to look to your politicians—follow the money, find out who their donors are!  This is not a project driven by ‘humanitarian compassion’ (that is what they want you to think!), but by cold hard cash on the part of some and a desire by others (Democrats) to expand their voter power base.
