Minnesota: government grants to stem "alienation" of Somali refugee youths awarded

They still think that all they need is a little basketball program to combat the enormous power of Islamic jihad indoctrination that you know is going on in mosques in refugee-saturated Minnesota (and other states where Somali enclaves are growing).
So after you have already shelled out billions of dollars to raise Somali youths (medical, housing, education etc), now you further shell out tax dollars for programs to combat alienation. Give me a break!

Start asking why are we still bringing in thousands upon thousands of Somalis every year and have done so for over 30 years (45,718 since Obama was elected, some with mental health issues!) and then to still be told they are alienated!
And, by the way, this should be a warning to everyone: once we open the Syrian spigot wide, Syrians will be admitted to the US as refugees for the next 30 years (or more!).

Six organizations that work with young Somalis in Minnesota have been awarded $300,000 in grants as part of a federal pilot project designed to combat terrorism recruitment, the nonprofit group that is administering the funds announced Thursday.

The grant recipients include a youth athletics group, a program that empowers Somali parents, an organization that plans to enhance youth employment opportunities and a group that addresses mental health issues for refugees. An additional $100,000 has been set aside to help with professional development and other efforts designed to build up the programs so they can sustain themselves in the future.

Marcus Pope, director of partnerships and external relations for Youthprise, the nonprofit administering the money, said investing in youth development is crucial. He said Minnesota is home to many young Somalis who are creative and bright, but a lot of them face “formidable challenges, including a sense of alienation, a search for identity as new immigrants, unemployment and poverty that can open them to recruitment by extremist groups.”

Looks like some of their ‘supporters’ represent industries that need to keep their cheap immigrant labor flowing into the state. Can’t have those ‘alienated’ Islamists causing citizens to get riled-up against refugee resettlement.

Columbus, Ohio: Somali refugee rampage, was it a terrorist attack?

I’m assuming that by now most of you with concerns about the large number of Muslim refugees being admitted into the US have seen the news.
It took awhile for the slasher’s (the “hater’s”) name to be released and I suspect that is because one of his names happens to be Mohamed. And, although mainstream media (like CNN) will probably never use the word “refugee” in a news story, (CNN said he was a “lone wolf”), I’m pleased to see that internet news is using the ‘R’ word.
Almost all of the hundreds of thousands of Somalis in the US are refugees admitted to the US through the UN/US State Department Refugee Admissions Program or their children (there are now many generations in the last three plus decades!).
Way back in 2008 we wrote a post where we had researched each year of State Department/ORR records to show readers how many Somalis were resettled each year since the 1980s. See that post here.
It is no surprise that this happened in Columbus, which is hosting the second largest Somali population in America (behind Minneapolis). We have many posts on Columbus, click here for more reading pleasure. And, you can bet that Governor John Kasich has never once questioned why Ohio is being overloaded with Somalis.
Four of nine major resettlement contractors are working to colonize Columbus: Church World Service, Episcopal Migration Ministries, Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, and World Relief/Evangelicals (scroll down to Ohio, here). For new readers, don’t be so shocked that YES, the Somali Muslims are being resettled by supposedly Christian and Jewish organizations.
I did a little numbers research and Yikes! we admitted 43,653 Somalis to the US JUST SINCE OBAMA TOOK OFFICE! So while we are freaking out about Syrians we should be having heart attacks over this vast number of Somalis because you know they can’t be any better “vetted” than Syrians!
Here is where the 43,653 were resettled since January 1, 2009 (up to January 1, 2016). Of the 2,476 who went to Ohio, 2,118 went to Columbus in just the last seven years!

Now here is one of many stories about the Ohio Somali refugee machete man.

While the President visits mosques, scolds Americans and continues to parrot his own ideas about Islam and extremism, a Muslim Somali refugee launched a bloody attack on the unsuspecting diners at a Columbus, Ohio, restaurant owned by a Christian Arab who immigrated from Israel.

Nazarath restauratn — The restaurant where the carnage happened is owned by an Israeli Christian. Sure looks like an Islamic terror attack to me!

The Somali man had calmly entered the eatery, the Nazareth Mediterranean Restaurant, pulled out a machete and began to arbitrarily slash patrons. “He came to each table and just started hitting them,” Carol Bass, one of the witnesses, told a reporter from the local CBS TV affiliate. “There was a man (laying) on the [restaurant’s floor] bleeding. [T]here was blood on the floor. It was awful. It… was carnage.”

Four people were wounded in the machete attack, one critically, according to the local police officers responding to the attack, which has not yet been classified a terrorist attack. “Police officers are loathe to describe anything as a terrorist attack. That’s the unwritten regulation when it involves a suspect from the Middle East. The suspect is a Muslim, he’s from a country that’s practically run by an Islamic terrorist group — in Somalia it’s probably Al-Shabaab — and he attacks a public facility such as a shopping mall or a restaurant and no one wants to call it terrorism. At least until President [Barack] Obama says so,” claims former counter-terrorism unit police officer John Roger Langdon.

Senators Sessions and Cruz want the Obama Administration to stop covering up arrests of Muslims!

In fact, Langdon noted that Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., and Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, recently sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch calling on the administration to stop covering up the arrests of Muslim jihadists within the U.S. The senators’ letter states that since early 2014 there have been 113 arrests of Muslims implicated in terrorist activity on U.S. soil and the Obama administration refuses to provide an immigration history on any of them.

Sens. Sessions and Cruz also mention in their letter that most of the cases involving radical Muslims have received little or no coverage in the national media as a result of blind support to the President or being ensnared in the political-correctness orthodoxy..

The targeted restaurant’s owner, Hany Baransi, who is identified by cops as a Christian Arab from Israel, said he had not taken a day off since Jan. 2 but took off Thursday night because of a migraine headache. He is a proud Israeli citizen who flies the Israeli flag in his restaurant.

Fox News was just reporting a few minutes ago (about 9:30 a.m.) that this man (we told you about him before, here) may be linked to the Farook family killers. I’m doing something else right now, but when more news is available, we will update this.
No surprise for all of you following the Somali refugee terror activities here in the US and abroad.
Stop talking about Syrians for a minute and remember that we bring in about 500 Somalis a month to live in your towns at this very minute! (See data here).

Minnesota: Attorneys for Somali refugees arrested on terrorism charges say ISIS not a terror group

…..they say that ISIL (ISIS) is a functioning government.
This story is a few days old (trying to catch up quickly this morning on lots of news).

From the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

In one of several motions filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis, the attorneys argued that despite its reputation for brutality, ISIL carries many characteristics of a government that tends to day-to-day business and that therefore criminal charges against the defendants are too broad.

“While the group has adopted harshly violent and repressive tactics, and engages in military and insurgency attacks against the Syrian and Iraqi armies, it has also embarked on a systematic process of civilian governance over the eight to 10 million people with the territory it controls,” attorneys said.

Continue reading the argument, then check out this motion. Large amounts of security will taint the jury pool say lawyers for the ‘youths.’

Other motions included a request to dial back a heavy security presence at the trial because the attorneys said it could negatively influence a jury. Current hearings have a large contingent of police and Homeland Security officers, and at least one bomb-sniffing dog.

“If allowed, this extraordinary display of security would be present from the moment jurors arrive at the courthouse until after they leave, serving as a constant reminder, not just of the fact that Defendants are accused of a crime, but of the fact that they are accused of a crime related to terrorism,” the motion stated. “ … The security appears not to be designed to protect against potential danger posed by the accused but, rather, perceived danger from members of the Somali community who are not accused of any crime.”

We have been writing since 2008 about ‘Somali youths’ (media never refers to them as ‘Somali refugees!’) leaving (or wanting to leave the good life you paid for) and returning either to Africa to get jihad training from Al-Shabaab or now to go to Syria/Iraq and join ISIS.
Someone should figure out how much all of these refugee trials and incarcerations are costing the US taxpayer. Local and state courts should bill the US State Department! We have 1,840 posts in our ‘crimes’ category, of course some are abroad, but you can be sure a big chunk of those crime reports are from the US.

Another Somali refugee sentenced for terror connections; lied on refugee application

This is getting to be old news. The only thing new is the location!

This time it is Texas—the state which is now receiving the largest number of refugees in America.

Earlier today we told you about Bosnian refugees busted for supporting ISIS. In this case the Somali we gave a home to (food, education, healthcare etc.) was helping Al-Shabaab.

So much for that thorough security screening we keep hearing about!

“On the same day that President Barack Obama decided to take a swipe at Christians and continues to use euphemisms to describe Muslim terrorists, a Somali national living in San Antonio, Texas, was sentenced on Thursday to 15 years in federal prison for his conspiring to provide material support to the radical Islamic group Al Shabaab. The Somalia-based Islamist group is designated by both the U.S. State and Treasury Departments as a foreign terrorist organization. The defendant, Abdinassir Mohamud Ibrahim, was also convicted for lying in order to get refugee status to enter the U.S., according to Justice Department officials.

Ibrahim, a citizen of Somalia, had been charged and pleaded guilty to both criminal offenses on July 31, 2014. The 43-year-old Ibrahim confessed that for about four-years beginning in May 18, 2010, he conspired with other supporters of Muslim terrorism to provide material support to Al Shabaab. Somalia’s Al Shabaab is affiliated with what’s known as “core” al-Qaida.

“This Somali, like many others living in the United States, lied to get into the country, lied to get refugee status and lied about his loyalties. One can only estimate how many more ‘Ibrahims’ are out and about in our country,” said former police counterterrorism unit member Pauline Soulters. “And yet we have a Commander in Chief who wants to talk about the 11th and 12th Century Catholic Church rather than the 21st Century Muslim jihad,” she added. Soulters was referring to comments made by President Barack Obama during a prayer breakfast in which he gave a lecture about the evils committed by Christians during the Crusades.”
