Too funny! Black studies professor in St. Cloud at it again!

He’s baaaaack! Dr. Luke Tripp of St. Cloud State is once again accusing “white conservatives” of stirring up St. Cloud racial tensions as he does it himself!  And, he clearly is fixated on former Rep. Michele Bachmann who we first noticed he targeted in 2010 and reported on these pages.

This man is not a peacemaker!

luke tripp in CO
Tripp went to Colorado in February.  See what they said about him (taxpayers of MN pay his salary!):  “In honor of Black History Month, Adams State University will host “Then and Now: The Revolutionary Workers League in Detroit and Black Lives Matter,” a lecture by Dr. Luke Trip [Tripp-ed]
A longtime activist and educator, Trip is currently professor of African American Studies at St. Cloud State University. He holds degrees from St. Benedict College, Wayne State University, and the University of Michigan. He was among the founders of the League of Revolutionary Workers in Detroit and served as the first Minister of Education of the Detroit Chapter of the Black Panther Party. He was chair of UHURU (Freedom in Swahili), a black student lead organization active in the liberation movement of the 1960s. https://www.adams.edu/news/feb1705.php
But, before I get to Dr. Tripp’s latest tirade…

I’ll remind readers of the chaos going on in St. Cloud as the next City Council meeting is to be held tomorrow evening and that Councilman Jeff Johnson, we hear, is planning to introduce his resolution seeking more transparency and economic analysis of the impact of Somali refugee resettlement on that community.

See my ever-expanding St. Cloud archive here (the city I call the canary in the coal mine!).

I first wrote about Tripp, the former Detroit revolutionary and Black Panther organizer, here in January 2010.

In that article we reported on his efforts to ‘get’ then Rep. Michele Bachmann.  Frankly the African Muslim migrants require the leadership of, shall we say the communist/socialist, Leftwing community organizers like Tripp.

You should have heard about the concept either from James Simpson’s ‘Red-Green Axis’ writing or perhaps you have heard him speak! Tripp is the personification of the concept.

Editor:  Knowledge is power! For all of you trying to understand what is going on in St. Cloud, it is important for you to know who the ‘community agitators’ are. Tripp is one. He may in fact be the leader. But, I haven’t the time or energy to summarize all of my previous writing on Tripp and his Somali legions.  I expect you to do your homework! As the old saying goes—you must know your enemy. And, read! Read! Read!

Before I get to Dr. Tripp’s lastest blast (still focusing on the departed Michele Bachmann), here is another post on Tripp from April 2010.  Go here for other mentions here at RRW. Don’t miss Tripp’s involvement with the Somalis who successfully sued a local meat plant. (Special accommodation for Islamic prayer times = shariah law!).

Now here is Tripp’s salvo from last Thursday at the Minnesota Spokesman-Recorder where he is wearing his “women’s studies” hat:

(Sounds pretty racist to me, what do you think?)

I witnessed and experienced how St. Cloud earned the dubious reputation of “White Cloud.”

I believe that Jeff Johnson’s resolution calling for a temporary ban on resettlement of refugees in St. Cloud is aimed at Somalis who are under attack in St. Cloud because of their race (they are Black), their religion (they are Muslims), and their immigration/refugee status (they are perceived to be untrustworthy aliens).

The City of St. Cloud, historically a very conservative White town, has only recently become home to a significant population of about 6,000 Somalis who represented about eight percent of St. Cloud’s population of 68,000 people in 2013. There has been a series of hateful attacks against the growing Somali community since they began arriving here in the 1990s.

[….]

The animosity against Somalis reflects the sentiments of a significant segment of conservative White residents in the city of St. Cloud whose views were politically expressed by their right-wing extremist ex-congresswoman, Michele Bachmann, who represented Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District from 2007 to 2015. Bachmann was a staunch advocate of barriers against immigrants and their culture. Her voting record on anti-immigration legislation is graded A+.

There is more.  But, this is the funny part: I thought I recognized those words! Check out what he said in 2010.  In addition to sounding racist he must be lazy! Throughout the above tirade he simply rehashed his many tired old charges from 2010!  (I’ve highlighted one of those rehashed paragraphs in red—one from last week above and the other from 2010 below–this is hilarious!)

This is the same paragraph in a February 2010 rant (and why the fixation on Bachmann? Alinsky rule***):

The animosity against Somalis reflects the sentiments of a significant segment of conservative White residents in the city of St. Cloud whose views are politically expressed by their right-wing extremist congresswoman, Michele Bachmann, who represents Minnesota’s Sixth Congressional District. Bachmann is a staunch advocate of barriers against immigrants and their culture. Her voting record on anti-immigration legislation is graded A+.

***This is Alinsky Rule 13: “Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.” He is making Bachmann the face of the problem. He is sending a message to the Mayor and Council of St. Cloud—we (bullies) will do this to you too if you go against us!

Bottomline readers, please listen!

You will continue to lose if your elected officials are more afraid of trained agitators like Luke Tripp and his legions (which includes the Islamic supremacists) than they are of you—American citizens who want answers and demand a right to help decide the future of your communities!

I know it is uncomfortable, but get over it!  You (conservatives of whatever color) need to fight the way they fight! Make your elected officials more uncomfortable than they do!

Start by picking a target and steal yourselves for the anger, the chaos and the controversy that is happening and will happen—saving western civilization isn’t for the faint-hearted!

Failing to be granted asylum in US, Somalis heading for Canadian border

When one sees stories titled like this one:

Somalis With Criminal Records Are Heading for Canadian Border

One immediately assumes this story has to do with changing US refugee policy under Donald Trump’s presidency, but check this out, they were already heading to Canada under Obama.

From Alpha News:

Fear of deportation is causing some Somalis with criminal records to head for the Canadian border, according to a new report from Global News.

The usual route: http://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/u-s-group-asks-asylum-seekers-not-to-cross-border-into-manitoba-1.3287759

A Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) intelligence brief from January 2016 obtained by Global News shows an increase in Somali nationals with criminal records crossing the border into Canada.

According to the report, 16 Somalis with “serious” criminal records crossed the border into Canada between 2012 and 2015. Of the 16, 11 had criminal records in Minnesota. Most of the asylum seekers crossed the border near Emerson, Manitoba.

The CBSA believes the asylum seekers are attempting to avoid deportation by U.S. immigration authorities by claiming refugee protection in Canada. Somali deportations began to rise under former President Barack Obama during the same time Canada saw an increase of asylum seekers with criminal records. According to data from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), 65 Somalis were deported in 2014, 120 in 2015, and 198 in 2016.

The number of deportations has continued to increase under President Donald Trump. As of early May 2017, about half way through the fiscal year, 259 Somalis had been deported. Of the 259, 80 were deported from the St. Paul ICE office. About one quarter of those deported have criminal records.

Alpha News has a nice graphic showing an uptick in Somali deportations from the US.

The CBSA intelligence report does not reveal data for 2017, however, border patrol officers in Emerson, Manitoba have reported a significant increase of asylum seekers with criminal records. Jean-Pierre Fortin, National President of the Customs and Immigration Union in Manitoba, told CBC News border officers in Emerson estimate as many as 50 percent of asylum seekers have a “serious criminality record.”

No official data, but Reuters is happy to produce some for 2017 anyway!

As Alpha News previously reported, Canada is seeing an influx of refugees that once found a home in Minnesota. Reuters reports nearly 3,500 have walked into Canada from the U.S. between January through May of this year.

Yahya Samatar swam in to Canada in 2015 to escape deportation by Obama. See his story below.

More here.

A case study—Yahya Samatar

As I researched the above news I came across Samatar’s story.  So his impoverished Somali family “scraped together” $12,000 usd to pay his way across the world (Somalia to Ethiopia to Brazil to Central America to Mexico and illegally across our southern border!), and we are expected to believe they found that much money through legal means in Africa.

Who is paying these illegal aliens? pirate money? An NGO? Someone like Soros?

From Hiiraan Online :

(original story from Winnipeg Free Press)

Samatar hopes he’s at the end of what has been a year-long survival odyssey.

He fled Somalia in August of last year when he became a target because he does aid work with a non-governmental organization and had no one to protect him.

“There’s no functioning government,” Samatar said. “As long as your clan has not a lot of power, you’re at risk.” Militia groups and Al Shabaab are active and night-time attacks are common, he said.

Samatar said he and his family scraped together US$12,000 to pay smugglers to get him to Ethiopia, then Brazil, and help him make his way by land through Central America to the U.S. border at Matamoros, Mexico. “I took buses and walked in the jungle for one month,” he said.

Was the Obama Administration, after a court failed to grant him asylum, letting him go with tacit approval to make a run for the border?

In the U.S., he was apprehended as an illegal alien and spent six months in a detention centre in Texas and another 10 weeks in a centre in Louisiana. After his refugee claim was formally rejected, he was released to await deportation back to Somalia. Desperate to set down roots in some place safe, he headed north. A contact in Minneapolis’s huge Somali community rented a car and drove Samatar and his companion close to the border crossing at Pembina, N.D., he said.

Minnesota needs more money to combat refugee communicable diseases

The story at World Net Daily yesterday gave me an opportunity to vent about one of my major pet peeves.  And, that is that economic studies being scattered like rabbit turds around the media landscape that conclude that refugees bring economic prosperity wherever they are dropped never include the true cost of medical care (like MN is experiencing right now), the true cost of the criminal justice system, or the true cost to the economy of remittances (money sent ‘home’ by refugees) that is lost to the US economy.
But, oh well, it is all good for Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey that we deposit refugees throughout America—right Heritage Foundation!
Here is the news and some comments by me:

Minnesota pays out millions every year in welfare for refugees, but there are secondary costs that never get tabulated.

‘Assimilating’ in Minnesota. Somali men and women do not sit together! https://refugeeresettlementwatch.org/2014/09/07/wnd-more-on-minnesota-somalis-welfare-and-jihad/

In fiscal 2017, which ended last last week, the state spent $1.5 million to combat three infectious disease outbreaks — including the largest measles outbreak in 30 years, which swept through in the Somali refugee community. And health officials notified legislative leaders this week that they want to tap a special public-health fund to offset additional costs.

Dr. Ed Ehlinger, Minnesota Health commissioner, told the Star-Tribune his department will need another $600,000 for fiscal 2018 to help control the spread of measles, drug-resistant tuberculosis and syphilis.

The state has had 78 confirmed cases of measles this year, in an outbreak that began in March. Of those 78 cases, 64 have been in the Somali refugee community.

[….]

Ann Corcoran, an expert on the resettlement industry who blogs at Refugee Resettlement Watch, said the industry is fond of churning out “bogus economic studies” that falsely inflate the value of refugees to U.S. communities.

[….]

“I am sick and tired of hearing reports on the economic benefits of the refugees that they pay and start businesses and create jobs, and in those studies they never discuss the true cost of health care, or the true cost to the criminal justice system from the numerous criminal trials, incarcerations, etc.,” Corcoran told WND. “Imagine what it costs to put refugees like Fazliddin Kurbanov away for life.”

[….]

“Have you ever seen a study on the cost of even short-term incarceration? It’s never in those bogus economic studies,” Corcoran said. “And the other thing that is never in there is the remittances that are gone from our economy. And you can bet your bottom dollar it’s not just wage earnings they’re sending back home. They’re sending welfare money back home, too. So you never see a net inflow or outflow of money from our economy in these phony economic studies touting how much these refugees boost our economy.”

Continue reading here and see what Minnesotan Deb Anderson has to say about the secrecy of the refugee industry in the state (are you listening Olivia?).

And, as someone more astute than I pointed out recently: If refugees bring economic prosperity, why isn’t every country in the world begging for more?

DHS data: Somalis slow to become naturalized citizens

Before you see the information I found at the Dept. of Homeland Security website, don’t miss John Binder at Breitbart Texas about the new bunch of Somalis deported to their home country, here, this month, a story featured on Drudge last night.

5 Kenyans and 67 Somalis deported from the US landed in Kenya on Friday morning. http://www.mwakilishi.com/article/kenya-news/2017-05-12/kenyans-deported-from-usa-arrive-at-jkia/

I took a few minutes this morning to look at data and came across this database at the Dept. of Homeland Security that tells us how many immigrants (country of origin) who naturalized in the years 2013, 2014 and 2015.
730,259 from many more than 100 countries (I got tired of counting!) became US citizens in 2015.
But, considering the fact that we have admitted far in excess of 100,000 Somalis to the US going back decades, I was surprised at how relatively low their naturalization numbers are.  (Checking Wrapsnet I see we admitted 102,392 Somalis since FY03 with 5,244 coming just in the last 7 months).
At present naturalization rates, they could hardly be much of an electoral force except for in places like Minneapolis, MN or Columbus, OH where large numbers have congregated to form ethnic enclaves.
First here are some of the major ethnic groups naturalizing at high rates (for 2015):

Mexico: 105,958

India: 42,213

Philippines: 40,815

China:  32,241

Even Vietnam was pretty hefty at 21,976

Of the largest refugee-sending countries, the Iraqis are naturalizing at a healthy rate: 14,899 in 2015 (and showing an increase from 2013-2015).

But, the Somalis (3,691) and the Burmese (6,045) don’t seem to be too excited about becoming US citizens.

Here is one little segment of the data base showing the Somali naturalization numbers dropping from 2013-2015:

Beware Somalis, others, coming from US claiming a passion for Canada as they illegally cross the border

I was surprised to see this Op-ed published in the Washington Post—a message to the media to look more closely at those going across the Minnesota border in to Canada.
It is too simple to say that the rise in numbers has anything to do with who is in power in Washington (the rise began several years ago during the Obama Administration):

The great challenge of Canadian journalism in the age of Trump is resisting the temptation to cram all bilateral news into a flattering narrative that contrasts crazed, bigoted America with righteous, inclusive Canada.

mountie-at-canada-border
I’m guessing that this is the “jolly Mountie” photo mentioned in the op-ed. Don’t you wonder  how the AP got this photo? AP photo: http://www.usaukonline.com/news/355060-canadian-mounties-help-somali-family-enter-canada.html

Canadian papers have been brimming lately with sensationalistic stories of U.S. Muslim refugees “pouring” into Canada to escape President Trump and his “Muslim ban,” risking life and limb to cross unmanned portions of the border in weather icy enough to literally freeze off fingers. Things reached a social media peak when a maudlin photo of a jolly Mountie escorting a young family over the snowy 49th parallel went viral.

Yet in the service of a tidy morality tale, much about these border crossings is being reported inaccurately, or at the very least, enormous amounts of complicating context are going conspicuously ignored.

Go here to continue reading.  I especially want you to see the discussion about “asylum shopping.”
And don’t miss the 2014 story about one Somali who slipped in to Canada and the FBI asked Canada to hold him for questioning.
My previous posts on the ‘flood’ of migrants heading north to ‘welcoming’ Canada are here.
Remember that there is no reason that legal asylum seekers or legal refugees have any need to head to Canada.  Those making the dash to get out of the US are obviously living here illegally.
Trudeau can have them!
