Oh brother! Sweden wants to protect itself from illegal migrants with fingerprint requirements

…..How about protecting itself by putting the military on all of its borders?  In airports and seaports too and turn the invaders back?  Or, does Sweden even have a military?

Interior Minister Anders Ygeman: We need fingerprints because we Swedes can’t tell one Middle Easterner from another from their passport photos! They all look alike.

What a coincidence!  Where are most of the phony passport holders coming from—why Turkey of course!  See our earlier post today, here.

[STOCKHOLM] Sweden needs to beef up its border security to stop passport fraud, a government inquiry argued Monday as the country grapples with unprecedented levels of immigration.

The inquiry proposed fingerprint scans for all nationalities entering Sweden from outside the passport-free Schengen Area in a move that pre-empts the European Union, which has yet to make such screenings mandatory.

Sweden has seen immigration levels soar in the wake of the Syrian conflict and expects a record 90,000 asylum seekers to arrive in Sweden in 2015.

Among travellers entering Sweden from non-Schengen countries with either fake or lookalike passports, 77 per cent had come from Turkey, a frequent transit point for refugees from Syria and Iraq.

So if they catch the fraudulent asylum-seekers are they going to have the spine to send them back to Turkey? I doubt it!

HOW CAN THEY BE SO STUPID (sorry I’m shouting!)?

In Sweden, job training program may be ISIS recruitment opportunity

Sigh!  Sweden (apparently using a Marie Harf counter-terrorism job training program) runs into a little problem!  The program is being shut down while authorities investigate if the unemployed ‘refugees’ were being recruited for ISIS.

Sweden has cancelled a job training program for new immigrants following reports that the program coaches were recruiting people for Takfiri terrorist groups.

“We have been alerted by participants that coaches have tried to recruit them to terrorist organizations,” Patrik Svensson, spokesman for Sweden’s National Labor Agency, said on Friday.

Svensson added that the agency had informed Sweden’s security service about the suspicious activities in the training program.

According to the Swedish official, the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group might be behind the recruitment.

The program was initiated in 2010 to tackle the high unemployment rate among new immigrants in Sweden.

Finally the news is creeping into American mainstream media—Sweden is in turmoil because it has virtually opened its borders wide to any Muslim migrant who could get to that wonderful world—the generous socialist welfare state of Sweden!

From National Public Radio:

In the 1990s, the face of immigration to Sweden was someone like Robert Acker. His family emigrated from Bosnia when he was 6 years old.

“I got along with the Swedes early on,” he says in American-accented English from his years playing basketball in Kentucky and New York. “But now, I believe it’s a totally different thing.”

Acker lives in the southern Swedish city of Malmo, an industrial center that has become the power base for the far-right Sweden Democrats.

“They want us out,” says Acker. “They just want Swedes here.”

Across Europe, far-right anti-immigrant parties are gaining political power. This is true from the Slavic countries to the British Isles, and from Scandinavia to the Mediterranean.

The change has been especially dramatic in Sweden, which for decades has been known for its openness and tolerance.

Thousands of refugees from Iraq and Syria have settled there recently. Many of them are Muslim — and the ethnic tension is palpable.

“We can’t take care of all the people in the whole world who have needs in their lives,” says security guard Filip Wennerlund.

Wennerlund didn’t mind Christian immigrants, but he believes it’s not working with the Muslims, even though Sweden has had a Muslim population for decades.

“Often they don’t want to come here and change,” he says. “They want to change us. And we don’t want to be changed. So that’s a conflict.”

Do you know about “brood parasites” in nature—you know, like the clever Cuckoo bird that lays its eggs in another bird’s nest, so that the unsuspecting host bird feeds and cares for the Cuckoo’s young often resulting in death to the host’s own offspring! That is what I think of every time I hear one more story about the  “unaccompanied children” flocking to the US, or in this case to Sweden.

Aren’t we just like the animals after all?   (I can hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth among my Leftwing critics!)

I know we have posted a lot on Sweden in recent weeks and days (click here for our complete archive), but it’s important because we can use Sweden as our ‘canary in a coal mine’ (oh geez, an ornithological analogy again!).  The country is small and the huge number of migrants they are permitting to live there will bring them to the brink sooner than larger western countries, so we can all watch and learn from what happens to Sweden.

It is not just the US that has ‘unaccompanied minors’ (the “children”) arriving en masse.  Here is a report about one unhappy community—Östra Göinge—in southern Sweden.

We reported on this Swedish policy here in 2013, when one of the “kids” murdered another of the “children” at a residential facility, not in Östra Göinge, but in another town.

From The Local (emphasis mine):

Around 7,000 unaccompanied refugee children arrived in Sweden in 2014, twice as many as the year before. And some parts of the country aren’t coping, according to reports.

A total of 81,300 people found refuge in Sweden in 2014, a jump of almost 50 percent from the 54,300 in 2013.

Among the refugees, 7,000 were children arriving without their families – almost double the figure from the previous year.

A law change that came into effect last January means that the unaccompanied minors can be sent to any municipality in the country, regardless of whether the municipalities want them or not.

Some consider the influx to be problematic, including Patric Åberg of the city council in southern Sweden’s Östra Göinge.

“We have taken in unaccompanied minors since 2011, but the problem is that the municipalities taking in many of them have to take in even more – and we think it’s devastating,” he told the TT news agency.

He says that his municipality simply doesn’t have the room to house so many children, and that other parts of Sweden should step up and take their share.

The municipality has requested an official court inquest into the matter.

“We think there is a gap here and that we can get around it. We want the system to be changed at a fundamental level,” he added.
