African-Americans begin to wise-up about what border invasion means to them

Update July 12th:  Black American in Baltimore picks up the refrain, here.

Yesterday, while traveling, I heard Rush Limbaugh discuss Bernadette Lancelin, the now famous Houston-area black woman who went on a rant that went viral.  Watch her EPIC rant here.

What about our people?

Then be sure to see Gateway Pundit here with video of the African-American protesters in Murietta, CA.

And, by the way, it isn’t just the border surge that is waking up American-born minorities, we have been writing for years about the inner-city conflicts between blacks and refugees of all colors from the third world.

They see immigrants getting stuff not available to them—such things as special loans to start businesses—and want some answers.

See also, A.J. Delgado writing at National Review Online about how the Dems are throwing black voters “under the bus:”

One of the sleeper issues surrounding the debate on amnesty for illegal immigrants – an inconvenient one that no proponent of a widespread amnesty wishes to acknowledge – is the devastating effect so-called immigration reform will have on African Americans.

The black unemployment rate is almost 11 percent, far higher than that of any other group profiled by labor statistics. African Americans are disproportionately employed in lower-skilled jobs – the very same jobs immigrants take. As Steven Camarota asked in a recent column, why double immigration when so many people already aren’t working?

Who will be harmed most by amnesty? African-Americans.

Read it all.

Lancelin, in her lonely protest, also asked where are the people, why am I here by myself, aren’t they watching the news!   Bernadette, I think all that is beginning to change, the border invasion (and what it means for all of us) is beginning to make it into peoples’ living rooms.

Texas city bans “undocumented children”

Traveling again today so no time for further commentary, but wanted to be sure this piece of news gets wide circulation!  Send it to your networks!

See all of our many posts on the surging illegal alien”children” (aka unaccompanied minors), here.

More ‘pockets of resistance?’

From the Houston Chronicle  (hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’).  Emphasis below is mine:

As passions over immigration and U.S. border security rise, the League City council approved a resolution on Tuesday night to ban undocumented children from being housed en masse in the municipality.

League City Council Member Heidi Thiess. http://www.leaguecity.com/Index.aspx?NID=39

League City Council Member Heidi Thiess drafted the measure, which declines to accept federal requests to operate detention or processing centers for “illegal aliens” in the city. The “potential threat of communicable diseases” and the potential impact of an influx of school-age minors on local school districts were among the reasons cited for the resolution.

The resolution was passed even though there are no known requests to bring unescorted immigrant children to League City.

[….]

More than 25 League City residents, including an immigration attorney and a United Methodist pastor, spoke during the public comment period of Tuesday’s council meeting, which followed a public workshop on Monday night.

“I encourage you to vote no to the imaginary, politically motivated resolution that is nothing but a bad idea,” longtime resident Leslye Mize said.

Carole Alexander thanked the council for presenting the measure. We need to start controlling our borders and taking care of our own people,” she said.

The resolution passed 6-2. Council members Thiess, Dan Becker, Todd Kinsey, Geri Bentley, Andy Mann and Mayor Timothy Paulissen voted in favor while council members Dennis OKeeffe and Joanna Dawson were opposed.

OKeeffe described the measure as an unrealistic defiance of federal law.

“Cities do not have the legal right to tell the federal government what they can and cannot do,” he said. “The directives contained in the resolution are illegal, unenforceable, have no consequences for noncompliance and are embarrassing to League City’s reputation.”

Offended Muslims!

A half-dozen men, who identified themselves as Muslim, said they were offended by the 2½-page resolution’s negative description of their religion.

To address the criticism, Thiess amended the section alleging that “radical Islamic terror groups” are using a porous Southern border to enter the United States to say “radical Islamist terror groups.

She also announced prior to the vote that a similar measure based on the League City proposal was passed by Galveston County commissioners on Tuesday afternoon.

Two Burmese suspected murderers apprehended coming back into US from Mexico

This is a very strange story from the Border Patrol to the Laredo Sun (hat tip: Gary) and I surely can’t guess why two Burmese (they have to be refugees we resettled in the Dallas area) are caught coming back into the US.

Apprehended walking back across the Gateway to the Americas bridge into Laredo.

Here is the whole short news account (emphasis mine):

LAREDO, TEXAS –U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers at the Laredo Port of Entry apprehended two men wanted in connection with a homicide that occurred in Dallas, Texas on March 24, 2014.

“The importance of the work that our CBP officers do in conducting interviews with individuals that present themselves requesting admission into the U.S. can be underscored with the apprehension of these two individuals who were being sought for their alleged involvement in the death of a man in Dallas, Texas,” said Jose R. Uribe, Acting Port Director, Laredo Port of Entry. “Through the collaboration between our federal and state partners, this case was able to be brought to light, resulting in the interception of these men to face the charges that are alleged against them.”

The arrests of the fugitives occurred yesterday Thursday, March 28, 2014 at the Gateway to the Americas Bridge when CBP officers encountered two 18-year-old citizens of Burma that arrived as pedestrians. A CBP officer at primary inspection referred pedestrians A. Soe and Naing Myo Swe, both resident aliens residing in Dallas, Texas who did not present any identity or citizenship documents for a secondary examination. During the examination, CBP officers verified both A. Soe and Naing Myo Swe’s identity, citizenship and confirmed that they were wanted by the Dallas Police Department on outstanding warrants of Murder and Tampering with Evidence. After confirming the warrants were active, CBP officers turned both men over to FBI and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) agents for transport to Webb County Detention Center pending extradition by Dallas authorities.

The alleged murderers are very likely refugees resettled by the US State Department and its contractors in Texas. That is how most Burmese have come to live in the US.  LOL! They don’t “find their way” to Texas as news accounts so often report.

Here is one accounting of how many we have resettled over the last 12 years from Burma and camps in Thailand.  They are still coming.

*Burmese refugees resettled in the US since 2001: 97,713

*Chin Refugees resettled in the US since 2001: 30,453

*Karen Refugees resettled in the US since 2001: 57,962

*The rest ethnic groups from Burma in the US since 2001: 9297

This last number above would include Burmese Muslims/Rohingya. Our most horrible Burmese murder case (so far) was the one in Utah where a Burmese Muslim man raped and murdered a little girl.

Amarillo, TX: Refugee kids living in poverty, homeless, sleep in cars

A few weeks ago we reported that Amarillo, once a “welcoming” community, is now in refugee-overload and asking the federal government to give them a break and slow the flow of refugees.  Amarillo is a ‘pocket of resistance.’

Now, here is a story that all Wyomingites should note, poverty is increasing in Potter County with the increase in refugees arriving there and there is a cost to the local taxpayer and a social cost to the community.

From ABC News Amarillo (hat tip: ‘pungentpeppers’):

AMARILLO, TEXAS — Over the years, Amarillo Independent School District has seen an influx of students who live in poverty, many refugees. Studies show when a child is food insecure and tired, they can’t learn. That’s why the district has employed social workers to make sure their students have basic necessities.

Sabre McLean was hired by AISD 12-years ago to work at San Jacinto and Margaret Wills Elementary when the principals at the time noticed they were spending a lot of time working on social issues with struggling families instead of educating their students.

“Amarillo has a lot of homeless families, families that sleep in cars, families that stay in shelters. And every night we have kiddos that are in those situations,” said social worker, Sabre McLean.

In fact, more than 23% of Potter County families are living in poverty, that’s according to the Census Bureau. A number that’s growing along with the refugee population. Studies show when kids are food insecure, tired, and embarrassed over worn out clothes, they’re not learning.

“When kids come in and they’re dirty, they haven’t had a good nights sleep and they’re hungry. My job is to provide those services so they can be in their chair doing their job and learning,” said McLean.

She works with the students and their families making sure they’re fed, clothed, and getting help with basic needs. But the only dollars spent AISD is on these social workers salary, everything else is donation based.

Does your community have a taxpayer-funded social worker to help poor refugee kids get through a school day?

Check this out!

I visited Catholic Charities of the Texas Panhandle, one of the primary contractors resettling refugees in Amarillo and they have this handy flow chart entitled, ‘Report on Refugee Resettlement in Amarillo’, which shows exactly what we have been saying for years—the program is so complex (they need a flow chart!) that the average concerned citizen of Amarillo could not possibly sort this out without spending many long hours in research.

LOL! Of course the UN is at the top of the flow chart!

Human Rights First legal team arriving in Houston in the nick of time!

Mostly men from Central America ‘saved’ from Houston “stash house.” http://www.click2houston.com/news/photos-more-than-100-immigrants-in-suspected-stash-house/25055884

Surely you heard the news about 100 plus Central American illegal aliens held in a “stash house” in Houston this week.  The story broke a couple of days ago, coincidentally about the same time that Human Rights First announced its new legal office would be opening in, wait for it, Houston!

You can bet most of these 100 ‘persecuted’ Central Americans will be looking to file asylum claims—a growing worldwide racket!  Human Rights First will be there to help.

We wrote about the invasion of Europe this week, this is the invasion of America!

From the Houston Chronicle (op-ed from HRF):

Houston asylum seekers! We are on our way!

Asylum seekers in Houston come from dozens of countries – from Honduras to Congo, from Belarus to Bhutan. They are victims of torture, survivors of genocide, women fleeing the threat of rape, honor killings and sometimes brutal domestic violence, former political prisoners, or minorities persecuted because of their race, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation. The United States has a well-deserved reputation for welcoming persecuted refugees. But we fall short when they are left to sort out their legal status without the help of a lawyer.

Some 75 percent of immigrants detained in Houston have no legal representation; the rate is only somewhat better for those who are not detained. This in a system where having a lawyer can mean all the difference. Houston’s eight legal service providers are overstretched, and most do not specialize in helping refugees seeking asylum.

To help meet this urgent need, the nonprofit Human Rights First is bringing its award-winning pro bono operation to Houston. Human Rights First has more than three decades of experience in this field. Through a proven partnership with private law firms, it recruits and trains attorneys to represent asylum seekers on a pro bono basis. Often, the relationships between refugees and their lawyers are mutually beneficial – lifesaving for refugees, and life-changing for lawyers.

Houston’s generous civic spirit and the array of leading law firms makes it a perfect place for Human Rights First to expand. And South Texas College of Law in downtown Houston is the perfect place for Human Rights First’s newest home.

More clients for Human Rights First!  Syrians and Somalis are on their way!
