US top refugee processing countries shifting with Trump Administration

I know this is getting in to the weeds, but I want readers to understand that for instance, the Somali refugees arriving in the US are picked up all over the world, and so if there is a ‘travel ban’ for say Somalia it doesn’t mean that no Somalis are coming.

Most Somalis coming to the US come from Kenya because the big UN camps are there and the UN makes the first cut on who comes to America.

From time to time, I show you processing country maps which are posted at Wrapsnet (the State Department’s Refugee Processing Center) for the previous months of the fiscal year (by the 5th of the present month).

For background, visit this post from December 2016 where you can see the top PROCESSING country is Kenya followed by Turkey and Tanzania as numbers two and three.

I’m always annoyed to see Malta as a processing country because as a European country it is responsible for the illegal boat migrants who land on its shores (not America!), but ever since the Bush Administration we have been turning illegal aliens on Malta into refugees destined for Your Town, USA.  See my huge archive on the disgraceful Malta deal, here.

And, tell me, how can they seriously assure us that some boat migrant from Libya who washed ashore on the island nation of Malta has been thoroughly security screened!  Was he carrying his documents and criminal record in a ziploc bag?

Here is Wrapsnet’s processing countries map for the first month of President Trump’s first full fiscal year—October FY18.  FY17 began when Obama was still in office.

In the first month of fiscal year 2018 the US admitted 1,247 refugees

Here below is a list of the countries from which we are processing refugees so far this fiscal year.

Malta to America Express!

See that Trump’s State Department has continued the Malta to America express!  By the way there is no way I’ve ever figured out how to identify what nationalities are arriving from Malta.  In the past we did learn that many are Somalis. The numbers are small but significant because we again are taking illegal migrants that are really Europe’s problem!

The Trump Administration could stop the Malta arrangement with a phone call if they wanted to.

And, I sure would like to know why we take any refugees from Israel! They should be taking care of whichever ‘refugees’ seek asylum there.  What is that all about.

Kenya is still in the top three but dropped from first to third place. First place goes to Nepal (for the so-called Bhutanese refugees) with Malaysia as number two. Note that Ethiopia is not far behind the top 3. Malaysia is the likely jumping off location for Rohingya to America. Turkey and Tanzania are now way down the list.

Since one of the top three sending countries is Kenya I checked Wrapsnet for the number of Somalis who entered the US in the month of October.  The total number was 113.

Then, for fun! I wanted to see how many and where they went in Minnesota. The total was 23 in October.  Minnesota got the highest number in the 113. The other 90 were scattered around America. None to St. Cloud right now.

Here are some of the top ethnic groups resettled in the US in October: Bhutanese (273), DR Congolese (181), Burmese (147), Somalis (113), Ukrainians (77) and Syrians (33).

Because knowledge is power, here is what you can do…

With long cold winter days ahead, you too might want to have fun with numbers at Wrapsnet, the US State Department’s data collection site.  You never know what you might find out about your own state or even your own town!

Endnote: While we are looking at maps, you might want to revisit a map showing the countries that have been warned about the deadly Plague spreading out from Madagascar.

Syrian 'refugees' in Turkey headed home to celebrate Muslim holiday….

….and some plan to stay in Syria!
So, good news on World Refugee Day, right!  Syrians want to go home, so why is the UN distributing them around the world?
From Reuters  (hat tip: Diane):

Carrying suitcases, shopping bags and toddlers, thousands of refugees walked back home into Syria from Turkey on Thursday ahead of the Eid festival that marks the end of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Turkey has taken in some 3 million Syrian migrants since the start of civil war in 2011, making it home to the world’s largest refugee population.

Now Ankara is giving Syrian refugees the right to return to Turkey within a month if they want to go home to celebrate the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

Some said they wanted to start again in their homeland, and would return within the month if it did not work out, while others said they wanted to return to Syria for good, citing the difficulty of finding employment in Turkey.

[….]

Authorities did not give any figures on how many Syrians have returned so far. A Reuters witness said at least 3,000 people crossed on foot through the dusty Cilvegozu border crossing into Syria during several hours on Thursday.

[….]

The offer to return applies to Syrian nationals with valid travel documents who cross through the Cilvegozu and Oncupinar border gates, authorities said. The Eid al-Fitr holiday begins on June 25. Those who wish to return can do so until July 14.

Anyone who comes back after that will be treated as new arrival and subject to the regular immigration process, a local official at the Hatay governor’s office said.

[….]

Authorities say thousands of Syrians have since returned to Syrian towns freed from Islamic State.

So that must mean it wasn’t Bashar al-Assad’s government they were running from in the first place!

You should know that the majority of the refugees being processed in to the US right now, by the Trump State Department, are coming in through Turkey.
See processing country map below from Wrapsnet:

Turkey is the number one processing country followed by Kenya. Opportunity for fraud? You betcha!

Terror around the world yesterday (thanks to these three 'leaders')

Until we get the final word from Germany about whether the Islamic killer in the Berlin CHRISTMAS market attack is a refugee from Pakistan or Afghanistan; and, until we hear about who it was that attacked a Somali mosque in Switzerland, I’m going to post other news.  And, besides all of the news, including the assassination of Russia’s ambassador to Turkey is all over the media, you don’t need me to tell you about it!
But think about this: would all of this have happened yesterday if these three world ‘leaders’ hadn’t been in charge?
How many of you remember that when Obama took office, Turkish President Erdogan was supposed to be his best (only!) friend among world leaders? Later, after she opened the gates to migrant Muslim invaders of Germany, he and Merkel became pals.
Pictures speak a thousand words….

Turkey threatens to unleash millions of Syrian Muslims on Europe (again)

Invasion of Europe news….
The EU is between a rock and a hard place!
Remember Turkey is not our friend (Obama’s, but not ours)!

Unrelated (sort of) to this story, I wanted you to see this data from the US State Department’s Refugee Processing Center because I want you to know that the three top countries through which we process refugees to the US are Kenya, TURKEY and Jordan. All three are processing in mostly Muslim refugees. Data for the month of October only. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B84u_jF_w2FMSTd4cUNwTXhpaUE/view

From the Irish Times:

Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has warned the European Union that his country may wave through up to three million migrants to Europe as Ankara reacted furiously to Thursday’s vote in the European Parliament calling on Turkey’s accession negotiations to be frozen.

Mr Erdogan said that Turkey could row back on the migrant pact signed with the EU in March, which has dramatically reduced the number of refugees entering the EU through Turkey.

Three kindred spirits changing the world order, undermining Western Civilization: President Barack Obama, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and German Chancellor Angela Merkel

As a condition of that deal, the EU promised to accelerate Turkey’s accession talks and consider granting visa-free access to Turkish citizens to Europe.

But concerns about the Turkish government’s increasingly authoritarian stance, as it clamps down on dissenters following July’s failed coup, has sparked calls for Turkey’s accession talks to be suspended.

Speaking in Istanbul on Friday, the Turkish president accused the EU of “betraying its promises”.

“If you go any further, these border gates will be opened,” he said, describing the parliament vote as a “dry threat”.

If Turkey opens its gates, I predict Erdogan should expect the so-called ‘anti-immigration’ parties to win big! So, his threat, if carried out will not help his case.

Elections are looming in a number of EU countries next year, including France, Germany and the Netherlands, with anti-immigration parties expected to poll strongly.

As a result, incumbent governments are unlikely to want to commit to granting 78 million Turkish people visa-free access to Europe.

On the Refugee Processing Center where the US State Department keeps the data on who is coming in to the country through the RAP, we have found that important parts of the site are unavailable again and we hope it is only a Thanksgiving weekend anomaly. Notice how the new site has become an advocacy-oriented site.  This is the sort of thing a new Secretary of State must know about and be ready to change!

Washington state killer is from Turkey, Muslim refugee family?

arcan-cetin
Arcan Cetin

Unfortunately I have no time to learn more this morning. I’m dashing out to a meeting in DC, but caught a blip on the news that oops!, not Hispanic.  Breitbart posted a story during the night.  Here it is.

Police have identified the alleged shooter in the Burlington mall attack as Arcan Cetin, 20, of Oak Harbor, Washington. Multiple reports indicate that Cetin was an immigrant from Turkey — not a citizen, but a legal permanent resident of the United States.

So, through which LEGAL immigration program did he enter the US? More later!
Afterthought: could he be an Uzbek, a Chechen or Bosnian (we do take them as refugees and process many through Turkey!)  Just speculating! Readers, let me know what you find out today!
Update: See our comments for more on Cetin.  And note that there is a Syrian refugee camp at Adana, Turkey where Cetin is supposedly from.  So what is the story on this guy, why is it taking so long to fill us in.
